Twenty- Four

The small boy woke up screaming, holding his hand over his ears. Hysterical screaming penetrated the air. Sesshoumaru jumped out of the bed looking for the threat. Tilynn cut on the switch flooding the room with light. The other boy woke up, to look at his brother with wide eyes.

"What is wrong with him?" The old woman sat down on the bed trying to comfort the boy. He started swinging at her striking out at something only he could see. "Miroku."

The door opened, Yomi and Kurama came running into the room. "What is going on here. What did you do to him?"

"Where's Kagome, get her so she can calm the child." Tilynn tried to reach for him again.

"She isn't in here?" Yomi got a bad feeling in his gut when he didn't sense her in the room. "Kurama get the others now."

"Sweetie whats wrong?"

"Gon. Gon. Hewt." The boy closed his eyes.

Sesshoumaru tried to reach out to him, the boy slapped his hand away. "Get the fire youkai in here now. I have a feeling that Kagome is gone." He quickly reached behind the boy knocking him out cold.

Hiei came in the room looking irritated. Sesshoumaru looked him over, "Search the boy's mind and tell us what you see. He has always had a mental link with the girl."

"Fine."

"Careful, if he is hurt, you die."

Hiei merely shrugged at the man, he knew what he was doing. He removed the white wrap and let his third eye open extending a hand over the small boy's forehead. "More than a link," He was suddenly looking into the girl's mind. "He has her. A cave, deep. His hand is resting over her."

"Where?"

"Her left side, something is glowing. It's turning completely black." His jagan closed, he couldn't reconnect for some reason. "I lost her."

Sesshoumaru sat down in the chair and placed his head in his hands. He suddenly felt very old and tired. "Why wasn't she in the room with you?" He looked up at Yomi demanding an answer. "I smell her all over you. I find it hard to believe that he was able to sneak right into your room without you knowing." He moved faster than anyone thought possible. He had the blind man pinned against the wall. Poision began to ooze out his claws.

"She left, we thought she'd returned to you." Kurama spoke for him.

"Why would she return to me right after he fucked her. I know Kagome, what did you do?"

"Stop this isn't helping matters." Koenma came into the room. The man was about to kill the ruler of the makai. "We will need all the help we can get, killing him won't solve anything."

"It will make me feel better." He dropped the man. "You make sure no one harms her when she returns."

"I'm not sure I can promise that." Koenma sighed.

"If anyone so much as takes a menacing step towards her, I will kill them myself." Sesshoumaru stopped in front the man.

"Wait, if he has her, why is she coming back?" Yusuke asked.

"Because he will send her back. He loves to use this method. Just a single shard can be corrupted, if the soul is black enough. He use to love using the shard to control others. What he saw was Naraku tainting the jewel that lies inside her. It usually won't work on someone with a strong soul. It is best used on someone weak or someone with a crushed or anguished spirit. Now, what I'd like to know is how he was able to corrupt the jewel while it still rested within her body?" He turned to the two men. "What did you two do to her?"

"How do we know it wasn't you?" Yomi threw the accusation back.

"How could I have hurt her that much?"

"What did you do when she came back? You had to have known what happened between us. Did you hurt her?" Yomi's aura began to flare.

"She never returned to this room. Why would I care if she let you touch her, when it was I that persuaded her into doing it?"

"Lies, why would you do that?" Kurama started to get angry, all of this wasn't making any sense.

Mukuro spoke up from the door. "They aren't lovers, never were."

Tilynn spoke up next, "I can vouch for that considering I've lived with them the whole time. Kagome has never taken another man to her bed since she left here that day over three years."

"But you two," Yomi didn't know what to say.

"We what? Are close. Yes, we are close but have never taken that next step. We never will." He faced Koenma. "I have a solution but you will have to pull a few strings and got out on a limb for me." He informed him what he wanted done. "I have a feeling he will send her here within the next few hours. He will enjoy sitting back to watch while she tries to kill all of us. Until you get back we will try to stay alive and to keep her from injuring herself."
