A Royal Pain

Inuyasha woke up after a few hours of much needed rest. When he looked in the tent for Sesshoumaru he found his brother sitting at a desk going through a mountain of paperwork.

“I see you are awake Inuyasha. Did you sleep well?”

Inuyasha yawned then itched his left side a bit before taking off the towel so he too could get dressed.

“Yes, I dreamed most of the time about you and me having kids. I was wondering about how we would go about this and I am curious about how it is possible for a male to give birth.”

Sesshoumaru explained that Inuyasha or he would grow a set of female organs when the heat came that would allow them to bear a child.

“So we turn into girls when we go into heat?”

Sesshoumaru sighed.

“No, only for the actual birth and then we have a wet nurse feed our offspring since we cannot produce milk.’
“Your body will return into the state it was before the birth shortly after. It is not a long process. The only issue with such things is that you are a hanyou so you may not be able to produce, which would leave it up to me to do so in order to gain an heir of true Inu blood.”

Inuyasha was curious.

“So how long does it take for the baby to come into the world?”

Sesshoumaru really wished he would have taught Inuyasha demon history since it indeed was his fault that Inuyasha did not know these basic principles.

“About three months.”

Inuyasha was shocked.

“Wow that is quick.”

Sesshoumaru nodded and continued on with his paperwork.

“Well I am going to go and harass Koga for a while. Do you need anything?”

Inuyasha stated as he started getting dressed.

“No, although do not be long since this will only take me an hour to finish. I wish to leave to our home as soon as possible. We will need to pack up and be ready to leave by tomorrow morning.”

Inuyasha nodded and headed out of the tent to get some fresh air and stretch his legs a bit.

Going over to Koga’s tent, Inuyasha was surprised to see Koga was still going over paperwork. Deciding to bug the stupid wolf later Inuyasha wandered around the different camps to see what people were doing.

Listening into some of the conversations going on around the Southern castle was going to be repaired and some of the Lords would be staying behind to insure that the peace was kept.

There was hope that the dragon demons would eventually have a successor that would be worthy of taking over Kaneko’s position since cutting up the South into three sections would mean at least one Lord would lose out on owning a part of the lush forest area.

Becoming rather bored with all the political talk and watching people start to pack up, Inuyasha headed back to his tent only to practically get ran over by Koga.

“Hey watch where you’re going ya dumb wolf!”

Koga ignored Inuyasha as he headed towards the bear demon’s camp with the stacks of paper work that he had finished.

Inuyasha decided that Koga wasn’t worth chasing after and he could always torment him later. Right at that moment more food sounded good since he could smell the cooked meat from where he was standing.

Going over to the tables he had one of the servants get him a plate of the cooked boar and dragon. He didn’t usually like pig meat, but this time it smelled kind of good.

The piece of pig meat Inuyasha received had some kind of fruit on it. It was a yellow ring with a half of cherry on top with some kind of sweet glaze over the meat itself.

Inuyasha took a bite and savored the flavor. As he was enjoying this delicious food Koga came over and sat down next to him.

“You know if you keep eating like this you are going to get fat mutt face.”

Inuyasha didn’t care.

“So, I never had food like this before so let me alone ya scrawny wolf.”

Koga had one of the servants bring him a plate of food too.

“Well don’t get used to this since the bear demons will be leaving in an hour or two. They are the ones who spiced this stuff up. They get their spices from their cousins who live outside of Japan and this pineapple stuff you won’t see for a long while unless we have another big battle.”

Inuyasha shrugged.

“So, I will enjoy it for now since I never get to eat like this in the village. Sesshoumaru says that we will get similar food at our palace.”

Koga snorted.

“Ya, lucky you get to live in opulence while the rest of us have to forage for our food. You are damn lucky mutt face.”

Inuyasha smirked.

“Well you can always come visit us with your skinny ass. I could probably talk Sesshoumaru into sending you some of our foods so you guys don’t starve to death now that you are not eating humans anymore.”

Koga huffed.

“Don’t worry about me dog breath. I take care of my own and now that some of the forest here is part of the Northern territory we have better hunting grounds plus Sesshoumaru allows us to hunt in the North western forests and mountain ranges as long as we only take what we need.”

Inuyasha bit into some of the dragon meat. It was good, but it had been better when it was fresh.

“So when are you leaving? Not that I care or anything.”

Inuyasha asked.

“We will probably be the last ones to leave since I have to wait for all my brother tribes to be released from their duties here. My elder brother Kane will be remaining here with his wolves until we have everything figured out with the dragon demons. We can’t exactly leave them as prisoners forever since they considered the act of killing off that Lord Kaneko as a liberation of their people. Apparently these people have been suffering because of their Lord had killed off many of their young boys trying to force them to be concubines until he found a proper mate. Lord Kaneko had an affinity for young human and hanyou males. None except you have survived the poison he injects into their bodies.’
“I guess he planned on making the human males that he captured into demons with some spell he had hidden that we have yet to find so I will remain here until it is found than take it directly to Lord Sesshoumaru.”

Inuyasha thought about that since he had longed to be a full demon. It would change things with Sesshoumaru, but Sess had up heaved his life.

“I wonder, maybe you and I can go look for it. Since I was trapped in that blasted place I have a feeling I might know where he hid the thing or we could ask Akahana. She is the servant who wanted to help me escape.”

Koga sighed.

“Let’s do that after we eat since I have been busy running around all day. You need to also let your mate know where you are going mutt face. You can’t just take off without his permission. He is the Inu No Tashio and I ain’t gonna have my hide ripped off for being accused of stealing his idiot.”

Inuyasha huffed.

“I don’t have to tell him nothin’ I am still my own man and if he thinks he can just order me around he had better get his brain checked cause I do what I want when I want. No Lord Fluffy is gonna make me……….”

Sesshoumaru was standing behind him at that moment.

“Lord Fluffy? Inuyasha your vocabulary is starting to become a nuisance. If it is this wolf that is making you speak in such a crass way about my person I shall remove his head.”

Koga laughed.

“No it ain’t me, it is all mutt face.”

Inuyasha looked up at Sesshoumaru only to have his ear pinched.

“Ouch!!!!!!!! What the hell!!!!”

Inuyasha whimpered.

“Do not refer to me as Lord Fluffy again my little mate or I will spank you in front of everyone.”

Inuyasha looked horrified.

“You wouldn’t………”

Sesshoumaru smiled with a rather wicked look on his face. That was not a good thing.

“I would relish the moments and I am certain you will come up with some rather creative words for me while I do such to you. Never call me that name in front of others unless you wish for pain and humiliation little brother.”

Inuyasha sighed.

“Fine, but I still don’t have to tell you where I am going.”

Sesshoumaru sat down as a plate was made up for him of pretty much a little of everything including some fresh sushi.

“You wish to find the scroll that holds the spell to make one a demon. We do not know the whole consequences that would occur if one were to cast this spell so I suggest that you both wait for me to come along with you to find this scroll if there even is one.’
“Inuyasha you will tell me where you are going since it is impolite for you to not do so. It is not a matter of trying to force you to my will. It is because as a mate you should respect others feelings besides your own. I will also inform you of my whereabouts since not knowing where someone is can be both taxing on your health and your mind. All I ask is that you show me that you do have some manners about you and if you wish for me to respect you than you in turn must show that you respect me.”

Inuyasha understood as he nodded his head. He did tell his pack where he was going and it was indeed courteous to do the same for his mate.

“Ok. But why would you want to go with us? Not that I mind or anything. It is just I thought you had a bunch of Lord stuff to do.”

Sesshoumaru nodded since he indeed had some things that needed to be finished before they left.

“I still do, but what was urgently needed has been completed already and there are things at the castle we must take care of since the inhabitants will be following us home.’
“Those who fled might try to come back again as well so I must prepare the army that will be residing here just in case another possible war might erupt. I believe your brother Kane is to remain behind.”

Koga nodded.

“He and his men will be taking over the whole right wing while the Bear and Heron demons reside in the other portions of the castle. I will be staying here with my men to assist him.”

Sesshoumaru shook his head no.

“No, you and your pack will be accompanying myself and my brother. We already have too many wolves in this area. I do not wish to force the dragon demons to find new allies to fight with them. It is best to keep the appearance that this area is conquered while giving off the idea that it is only a small encampment they would have to conquer.”

Sesshoumaru stated while Koga slammed his fist on the table.

“You are going to use my brother and his men as bait?!”

Sesshoumaru sighed. The wolf was getting riled up over nothing.

“He knows this and there is no need for such a temper tantrum wolf cub. There are forces outside that will be watching out for Kane and for the others. We want to capture all of the demon dragons and hope that we can find a suitable successor for the South since at one time we held these demons as allies.’
“I would like to try and resolve this conflict peacefully and in truth none of us Lords wish to separate the land into thirds. It is best that we find one who will be willing to suffer our scrutiny for a time than to use up the lands for our own personal gain.”

Koga calmed himself, but he didn’t like this plan at all. However there was nothing he could do about it. Kane had agreed to stay behind and it was important that those servants and guards were taken far from this place until a peace treaty was signed. Lord Sesshoumaru was indeed a good tactician and knew what he was doing.

“So when will we be leaving?”

Koga asked.

“In the morning so eat up both of you. You will need your strength for the journey back.”

Inuyasha and Koga both looked at each other and sighed than got back to finishing their food.
