Why the Dog Howls At The Moon

Anaminé sat in the living room with her two friends as they ate hearty sandwiches a lot of meet lettuce and tomato.

“So lady bug have you and Prince stuffy considered any names yet?” Jakotsu asked

Anaminé shook her head “No but I really want to discuss with him naming our son after my father. If I carry them to full term then their birth won’t be to long after the anniversary of my parent’s death. And my fathers name has been known threw out history it’s a honorable name and I think my son deserves a honorable name such as his”

“I think your father would feel the most honored to have his grandson named after him” Suikotsu said with a smile.

Anaminé save a small smile “yeah…I think he would be to”

As they continued to talk unknown to them 5 men where sneaking around in her yard. With out any warning they jumped threw her living room window. The three of them stood up and then men made their way into her house. Suikotsu and Jakotsu stood in front of their friend. Suikotsu looked over his shoulder as the 5 men started towards them.

“Anaminé get out of here!” Suikotsu demanded.

Anaminé began to back up scared she could smell these men where demons and her friends didn’t stand a chance against them. She had to get to her sword and fast. She turned around and ran for her stairs befor two other men came threw her door running at her. She let out a scream as the metal from a sword met the flesh of her arm as she tried to get away. Blood red began to bleed into her gentle blue orbs. She swung her clawed hands at them causing them to jump back. She ran up stairs to the master bed room the two other men following her as she heard the grunts from her friends down stairs as the fought the others. She grabbed her swords from the wall above her desk and unsheathed it turning to the men and growling. Her eyes completely red as blood turned the sleeve of her soft pink shirt the color of crimson. She charged at the men and swung her sword at the unarmed men cutting his gut open causing his blood to splatter across her cloths.

She immediately raised her sword to block the attack of the armed man and glared at him. And with one quick swift swing she cut his head off his body falling to the floor. She charged down stairs to find her friends surrounded by the men fending for their selves pretty well. She let out a loud growl and with her newly required demon speed she ran at an assailant and ran her sword threw his back so it came out of the front of her chest. She gave it a quick turn and then pulled it out. The two brothers moved away from their younger friend as she attacked the other men their blood finding its way to her face or her cloths.


Sesshomaru was on his lunch break when he felt Anaminé’s demeanor change due to them being marked she had such rage and the need to protect. The only thing that could cause that was if she was in danger. Sesshomaru got up from where he sat running out of the building and to his car. He growled trying to fight his beast from coming out as he rushed to the house. Who or what ever that had the audacity to attack his mate was going to find its end today when he got back. His car came to a screeching halt in their drive way as he saw the door to the house wide open he ran into the house his eyes half red half golden. He saw Anaminé sitting on the couch her shirt off staring into space as Suikotsu was cleaning up and tending to a wound on her arm. Jakotsu stood behind the couch and looked over to Sesshomaru who’s eye where turning back to golden as he saw the bodies of men on the floor and Anaminé’s bloody shirt sitting next to Suikotsu.

“What happened here?” Sesshomaru growled.

“Well you see me and Suikotsu had the day off so we though we would come keep Anaminé company for a little while. We where talking and having some lunch, when these goons came in and started to attack.” Jakotsu said turning to him crossing his arms.

“There is two more up stairs in your room” Suikotsu said as he continued to tend to her wound.

“And the one right behind him that is tied up has some serious injuries but we where able to stop Anaminé from killing him, we thought you might want to question him or something.” Jakotsu added

Jakotsu looked at Anaminé “she seems pretty out of it.”

Sesshomaru nodded and walked over and sat next to Suikotsu and placed his hand on Anaminé’s cheek.

Anaminé turned and looked at him as a tear ran down her face; it still had blood splatter on it as well as her jeans.

“I killed them….I don’t know what came over me….I just wanted to protect them and the babies…and I killed them with out a second though.” Anaminé said as her now returned gentle blue eyes showed remorse and guilt.

Sesshomaru rumbled his thumb over her soft cheek, Anaminé was a very skilled sword fighter but she had never seriously injured anyone or killed them for that matter. The thought would have never crossed her mind she was to kind and gentle.

Sesshomaru looked at Suikotsu and Jakotsu “you two can leave now, I will handle everything from here.”

Suikotsu nodded and stood up “I cleaned the wound up just keep it wrapped up to keep infection out untill it closes up and she should be fine.”

Sesshomaru nodded and the two brothers placed a hand on her shoulder and then left. When he heard the door shut he took Anaminé into his arms as she began to cry.

“I’m a murder” Anaminé sobbed into her husband’s chest.

“No Anaminé you just followed your instinct to protect your pack, your friends are lucky they did not get hurt in trying to stop you” Sesshomaru spoke softly

Sesshomaru sniffed at Anaminé making sure she was ok as well as the pups; once he was satisfied he kissed the top off her head and pulled her away from him gently.

“Why don’t you go into the kitchen get something to drink and sit down, Ill be in, in a few then we can go to my parents untill we can get this place cleaned up ok” Sesshomaru said looking into the remorseful eyes of his wife.

Anaminé nodded she knew what Sesshomaru wanted to be alone for and she had seen to much blood for one day she really didn’t want to be there to see the fate of the last man that was alive. She got up and made her way to the kitchen. Once she was out of sight Sesshomaru growled his eyes turning red as he turned around he picked the man up off the ground by his collar.

“Tell me who sent you!” Sesshomaru growled clutching the man’s shirt his red eyes piercing threw the man’s soul.

“I…I…I don’t know a man who concealed his face paid us a great deal of money asked us to kill your mate and unborn pups. He said she didn’t have any demonic powers that it would be a easy job.” The man answered

“Where were you when you got this job?” Sesshomaru growled

“He has us meet him in Tokyo a week ago. Please spare my” The man pleaded.

“That’s not going to happen, you chose your death the moment you agreed to do the job” Sesshomaru raised a clawed hand and cracked his knuckles befor sending his hand into the man’s chest through his heart. Sesshomaru dropped the dead body and grabbed Anaminé’s shirt and used it the wipe his hands. He went up stairs got her some clean cloths and came down to the kitchen.

She was sitting at the island in the middle of the kitchen staring into a glass of water. Sesshomaru walked up next to her placing the cloths on the island next to her cup and placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Here are some clean cloths for you to change into.” Sesshomaru said as she looked up at him.

“go a head and change in here we will leave threw the back so you don’t have to see any of it, ill go lock everything up” Sesshomaru added

Anaminé nodded and after he left she put on the clean cloths and got a wet rag and washed the blood off her face and hands. When Sesshomaru came back he had a small duffel bag and had changed his shirt. Anaminé placed a hand on her belly looking down at it.

Sesshomaru walked up next to her placing a hand on hers “They are okay, you don’t have to worry nothing will happen to them or you I promise”

Anaminé nodded and they left the house.
