*I am going to try and end this story with in the next couple of chapters so if any one has any way they would like it to end i would like ot know and will take it into consideration when i am finishing up this fic.

Chapter 24

As Kagome sat on the floor with Kouga’s slowly cooling body in her lap all she could think of was, ‘What am I going to do now?’ Kouga’s bodily fluids slowly leaked out on to the floor and created an ocean of crimson.

She lost her best friend, companion, and brother. Her thoughts were troubled and her mind plagued with the image of his dying face. As she sat on the cold floor Kouga’s blood soaked into her cloths as she held his cold body.

Sesshoumaru could only watch as his love experienced the pain of being torn apart. He watched as she sobbed and silently begged that it wasn’t true. He was so focused on her that his missed his brother calling his name.

“Sesshoumaru.” Inuyasha shouted. Sesshoumaru finally looked away from Kagome and at Inuyasha. “Your sword!” He said pointing to Tenseiga. The sword was pulsing and he could see the underword creatures coming for Kouga’s soul.

Sesshoumaru withdrew his sword, and moved towards Kagome. He knelt down and tried to pull her away from his body but she fought him. “No!” She shouted.

“Inuyasha come help me.” Sesshoumaru ordered. Inuyasha stepped forward and held Kagome as Sesshoumaru stood over Kouga’s body and felt the pulsing of his sword, pulling him, whispering to him to save his beloved’s brother. With a quick slash downward, he re-sheathed his sword and watched as the demons of the underworld disintegrated.

The blood on the floor was slowly reabsorbed by the body and his wounds also began to heal with the disappearing of the blood. They could hear the slow heart beat as it steadily picked up its pace and the blood beginning to flow through him once more. His body temperature began to rise once more, and the blue and purple color left his lips, and the sheet white of his skin began to develop the tanned hue that was the normal color of him. Lastly, Kagome jumped when he took a deep shuttering breath and turned his head and open his eye right at her. “Hi.” his voice was raspy like he has just awoken from a nights sleep.

Kagome broke down in sobs and laughed at the same time as she broke from Inuyasha and threw her body at his own as he sat up. She hugged him tightly as he was knocked back over with the force that she hit him with. His chuckled as he ran his hand over the top of her head and down her hair onto her back and whispered that he was alive, whole, and fine.

Kouga sat there for a half hour holding his sister trying to reassure her that he was fine. Every one else looked on s he slowly calmed her down. When the were done Kagome was swept into Sesshoumaru’s arms as he nuzzled her neck and whined trying to tell her that he was there for her and he felt her pain.

Kagome nipped his eye, in a type of thanks and to tell him she was ok. “Um... I hate to be the one to break this moment up but we really should go before he comes back and so we can plan our next step.” Souta said and every one straightened up.

“Your right Souta, Sesshoumaru and I need to go to the school and say good-bye to my friends and then we have to catch a plan home.” Kagome said.

“Were not taking a plan.” Sesshoumaru informed her. At the confused look on her face he stated. “This Sesshoumaru had a dream that you died in a plane crash this will mot come to pass we will fly home in my orb.” Sesshoumaru stated with finality.

“Well now that I’m whole, I’ll drop you two off at the school and take every one else home so that they can pack, um... one quick question. Are we all going to fit in your orb?” He asked as he gestured to everyone standing in the facility including himself.

“Who all is going?” Sesshoumaru asked Suspiciously.

Kouga looked at him as if her was dumb, “Every one duh! Did you think we would let you go back and not take us especially after I died. That bastard is not going to be left to the two of you. Come on now I was some revenge, and you can’t have all the fun.” He sounded back to him self but there was some thing in his eyes, some thing different, but what no one knew.

“That’s fine with me with Sesshoumaru taking us we will have more time to pack up, but most of my stuff is already packed.” Kagome said as she turned in Sesshoumaru’s arms.

Every one nodded and then slowly walked around the bodies that littered to floor. The battle was over but the war was just beginning and they knew that it was going to take a lot of plaining and quite a few battles.
Sesshoumaru and Kagome were dropped off at the High School while the others headed home.

Kagome lead Sesshoumaru to the office and the two of them signed in. “Miss. Higurashi, I have not seen you in many months It was a tragic thing to hear that you had to leave and under the circumstances, its such a shame. Well its good to see you again.” The little old Secretary said as Kagome nodded and the two grabbed visitor passes.

The bell rang as the exited the office. Hundreds of students filled the halls, but all seemed to avoid Kagome and Sesshouamru. Soon whispers could be heard of who she was.

Every where you could hear, phrases like, ‘That’s the girl the street racer.’ , ‘Yeah she left after her dad died.’, ‘I heard that she kicked six guys ass at once. I wouldn’t fuck with her.’ Every one was soon abuzz with who she was or what they had heard any ways.

“So the Scheming little slut has returned?” A female voice shouted out of the crowd as the parted Kagome soon saw that it was Amber the School slut of this school. She smirked as she stopped before Kagome and Sesshoumaru and thrust her hip out and put her hand on it. “And It looks like she has tricked and other fine male into her clutches.” She snickered along with her crew.

“Sorry Honey, You must be thinking of yourself.” Kagome paused. “You’re just mad that Seth wanted me and not you. Not that I ever wanted him he was not my type but he sure as hell didn’t want you.” Kagome retorted as she watched her friends approach from behind Amber.

Amber Smirked. “So, how did you get him?” She asked as she walked closer to Sesshoumaru, right up to where she could reach out and touch him and she did. “I can please you way better than her, all you have to do is ditch her.” She said as she slid her hand down the front of Sesshoumaru.

He started to growl the farther down she got, until she gripped her arm at him waist, and leaned into her while squeezing her arm, “Do not thing that This Sesshoumaru would be interested in you, one who smells of many men, if you ever touch me again I will break off your arm and beat you with it.” with that she pushed her away, and turned to see a laughing kagome. She was trying so hard to hold it in and when she saw Amber fall on her ass she lost it.

After Sesshoumaru walked away from her Her friends attacked her next. “You, you little whore, better stay away from Sesshoumaru because he loves her and she loves him and if you try to get involved again well make you wish you didn’t come to this school.” With that they all walked away.

Kagome held Sesshoumaru’s hand and walked down the halls to the cafeteria where they all sat down for lunch. “I’m going to get a drink.” She whispered to Sesshoumaru.

When Kagome reached the snack line she was surrounded by guys. “Oh my god Kagome how have you been.” “Where have you been.” “I missed you.” Were said as the ring of guys tightened. Finally, “Get away from my girl.” was heard.

Kagome looked up at the familiar voice but knowing that it wasn’t Sesshoumaru. “Seth.” Kagome breathed.

Every one stepped back and let him through. “Kagome where did you go? You didn’t even tell me that you were leaving. I found out from Ausha that you weren’t coming back. How could you do that to me? I love you and you just up and left me like that. It hurt. But now that your back I want every one to know that I love you.” He drug her out of line and to the front of the room, where he proceeded to climb on top of a table.

“May I have every ones attention.” He started and was briefly interrupted by Kagome.

“Seth get down have to tell you something.”


“After I am done.” He replied to her then turned back to the room. “Now that the love of my life is back I want to ask her something and I want all of you to bear witness to it.” He turned back to Kagome. “Kagome, you would make me the happiest man alive if you agreed to marry me after graduation.”

Kagome stood in shock. She had feared that he would do something stupid like this. “Seth you don’t understand that I am already engaged.”

The rage that crossed his face was scary. “WHO IS HE?” he shouted. “I”LL KILL HIM.” he continued to shout.

“Your more than welcome to try small fry.” Sesshoumaru commented to Seth who was currently still on the talk and even so he was only about a foot taller that Sesshoumaru.

Seth turned around to see, a tall demon with rimmed red eyes looking up at him. Thats when he realized his mistake. Seth hung his head. “No, never mind.” Seth got down and walked away. He knew a full blooded Youkai when he saw one, Kagome couldn’t pick a normal human to be with, no she had to pick a Taiyoukai.

Kagome smiled at Sesshoumaru because he once more came to her rescue. “Thanks, for not mangling him.” She said as she walked into his arms.

Sesshoumaru once more buried his nose in her neck and inhaled deeply of her scent. “I didn’t like the fact that he touched you, proposed to you and the fact that you could have said yes.”

Kagome looked shocked, “How could you think that I would say yes to that guy? Do you not trust me?”

“Its I guess that were a not fully bound yet so there is still a chance and it scared me.” He paused and nuzzled her neck. “It pleased me that you told him that you were already taken.”

Kagome smiled and lead him back to the lunch table. When lunch was over she said go bye to her friends, “I’ll call every one and leave amessage when we get back letting you all know that we got back ok.”

She gave every one a hug, but hung back with Ausha. “In a couple of months I want to fly you out to Japan. See how well your Japanese skills work out.” Ausha. Teared up.

“Anee-chan, that is so kind of you.” Ausha hugged her tight again.

“It’s the least I can do for my Panda~Sensei.” Kagome released her then and her and Sesshoumaru returned there visitor badges to the office and left.

Sesshoumaru picked Kagome up and flew to the house on his cloud. Soon she was asleep in his arms, and as he landed she slept on in the comfort of his arms. Sesshoumaru carried her inside and lain her on the couch and went to pack their things.

The weapons were all placed in a case and cloths packed in bags every one packed light knowing that Sesshoumaru had to carry every one in his orb. But They all knew that he would be tired beyond belief.

Soon after Sesshoumaru packed his things and was getting ready to move on to Kagome’s essentials he smelt her tears. And a blood curdling scream.

Sesshoumaru was the first to her side and every one came soon after, “Kagome wake up.” Her tear filled eyes opened and he could openly see the fear in her eyes, fear unlike ever before. “Honey, what did you see?” Sesshoumaru asked know that her dreams most of the time came true.

“We were in a field and tasukie, he had mom and Shippo. He was bargaining there lives for the sword. Sesshoumaru we have get them away from him. He’s gonna kill them it not. I can’t let him do that.” Kagome as she met his eyes.

Sesshoumaru held her face in his hands “What makes you think that we would let him do that love?”

“Kagome?” Souta asked. When he saw that he had her attention. “Who is Shippo?”

“You have never met him but he is Our little brother he just turned 16. And that snot still has my car. He better not have Wrecked it.” Kagome said heatedly.

Everyone laughed. And went back to packing. But they all came to realize what was at risk should they lose.
