Saving Rin

Hiei watched the man pick his mate up by the arm, his heart stopped. Everything happened before he could call out. He watched her pull him down, he cried out when her back hit the ground. The sword came out of Kado's back, soaked in blood. Sesshoumaru killed the demon coming towards him. He was instantly by the pair on the ground, he jerked the man off. (Wait that didn't sound right.) He landed in a thud several feet away.

Sesshoumaru looked down at his ward, she was covered in blood. Hiei was at his side, the small man hit his knees beside her. Sesshoumaru looked at him, "Hold her up so we can remove the blade."

Hiei placed a hand behind her neck pulling her up off the ground. He held her still as the blade was pulled out. Sesshoumaru tried to do it quickly, she still hissed in pain.

She opened her eyes, awake once more. She found red eyes staring down at her. Her heart melted at seeing the unshed tears, she reached up to touch his face. "Hiei."

Sesshoumaru through the blade aside and stood up. Kado was on his knees trying to heal, he looked up at his nemisis. He tried getting to his feet but feel back down. The girl had pierced his heart, seemed he would slowly die by her hands. "Finish it."

"I intend to." Sesshoumaru took his head in one clean swipe. The moment Kado died his minions lost their unnatural abilities.

Kurama landed beside Kagome, "Stay with Kuronue. I'm going to try and help Rin." He made his way over to Hiei, who was holding the girl. "Let me see her." He moved her hair aside, to reveal the large wound. "It didn't pierce her heart, she may live. Come we need to get her inside and tended to."

Hiei picked her up and made his way inside. Kurama quickly looked around the place. There was only one bedroom, he'd taken one step inside to realize what had happened in the room. Sighing he walked out closing the door. He found Hiei in a large room that contained a table and some furniture. Rin was placed down on a couch, he quickly cleaned her up.

The wounds were begining to close but she'd lost a lot of blood. If she survived it would take her a few days to fully recover. He bandaged her up the best of his abilities. Sesshoumaru came in with Kagome and Naoko, the others were searching the grounds for any more of his people.

"How is she?" Sesshoumaru glanced down at her.

"She will live I think. Can I speak to you in private though?" Kurama looked at Sesshoumaru, he wasn't sure if Hiei realized it yet.

"She was raped wasn't she." The fire youkai was on his knees, never taking his eyes off her.

"Hiei, I.."

"Don't lie to me, I can smell him on her."

"Yes she was, I'm sorry." Kurama placed a blanket over her. She slept on while the others stared down at the small girl. "We shouldn't move her until her wound has healed." They waited for only an hour before deciding it was safe to move her.

Shizuru ran a cold cloth over Rin's forehead, wiping away the sweat. Her fever had finally broken this morning. She looked over at Hiei who was lying on the bed next to her. "I'm going to go get some dinner then head to bed. She should be okay now."

He watched her leave the room closing the door softly behind her. He waited several minutes then discarded his clothes. He climbed under the covers with her, pulling her close. His arm placed over her stomach, his head resting on her shoulder.

Rin slowly opened her eyes, for a brief moment fear filled her. Where was she? She quickly looked around, her chin slammed down on something hard. "Owie." She saw Hiei jerk up and away from her. She looked over at him, worry filled her eyes. How had she gotten here, she was back in her own bed.

"How do you feel?"

"Okay." She placed her head back down on the pillow. She closed her eyes not wanting to look at him. Surely, he knew what had happened. He must know that Kado had been with her. Would he hate her now? Would he still want her as his mate?

He didn't speak, he moved back down beside her. He lightly placed his hand back on her stomach. He tensed when she did, "Does that bother you?" He was worried that she would be scared of him, after being forced.

"No, I'm okay. You just suprised me thats all." A tear slid out the corner of her eye, maybe if she apologized he'd forgive her. "I'm sorry, I didn't want it to happen."

He pulled her close as she cried, he stroked her hair. "I know, I'm sorry I wasn't there in time to prevent it."

"Do you hate me?" She asked her voice cracking.

"Hn. No."

"Are you sure?" She looked into his eyes.

"Yes," He placed a kiss on her forehead. He spoke three words, he never thought he'd say. "I love you."

Rin heard him and began to cry. He held her as she cried herself to sleep.
