Chapter 24
And Their Off!


Sesshomaru ran swiftly, as his brother lagged behind, “hurry up…, or I’m going to have her all to myself!”

Inuyasha growled with amusement, “We’re not going to start this again?”

Sesshomaru laughed, “Of course not, just hurry up!”

Inuyasha smiled, he was glad that he and his brother put past their differences.

Kagome waded into the water but stopped suddenly the water was too frigid. She contemplated whether to go in or just bask on the soft sand. She sniffed the air; there was nothing to worry about, except maybe her mates. She growled, but she didn’t want to sit around and wait for them. Only to seem eager of their arrival– it was a nice day out and she wanted to explore.

Kagome smiled, as she walked around the crystal blue lake. Honestly, she couldn’t wait for their arrival, her lower regions tingling with anticipation.

As she walked through the colorful meadow she could feel the long blades of grass, tickle her bare calves. The sounds of birds filled the surrounding trees, the scenery was surreal, and she could get lost into its offering tranquility.

However, all good things must end. She stilled her movements, while her nose twitched, smelling the area. Something was off; the once soft sound of songbirds now filled the air with distressing calls. The trees in front of her swayed almost unnaturally as their limbs bent back with a great force. She was surprised that they didn’t snap in half. She watched as the birds lifted into the sky frightful. Something big was coming, and she did not know whether to run away or face it.


Sesshomaru stopped, as he sniffed the air. He growled flexing his claws; he noticed his brother also sensed an unfamiliar presence. “Damn!”

The two brothers ran with all their might, rounding the bin; they saw their mate standing in her nude form, facing an angry ogre. The thing was ugly and it smelt bad. Their mate was determined to get herself into trouble, as she vulgarly swore at the beast.


It wasn’t long before the brothers joined in. They stood next to Kagome, challenging the beast to come after their mate again.

“Give me the jewel!” The green slimy one eye ogre roared angrily, as he punched the ground causing the trio to step back.

“Dammit anyway…!” Inuyasha snarled he was getting tired of having to fight; all he wanted to do was make love to his mate. “I told you…you’re not touching our mate!”


Between the three of them, the ogre didn’t stand a chance, his body was full of claw marks. He decided that the jewel wasn’t worth his death and fled into the forest…he’d be back to fight another day.

Kagome panted heavily, she looked down on her nude form, only to see she been covered with the ogre’s blood. “We’ll I did say I needed a bath,” she giggled, “and by the looks of you two… you could use one as well.”

Kagome stepped into the water, the time it took them fighting it was well past noon. She was tired, and the warm water seemed to welcome her presence. She watched hungrily as her mates also undressed, joining her.
