Dogs

Aveline had Sesshoumaru under a spell of her whims. She wanted him to know that she did love his charming smile, but not his tyrannical ways. He was walking right into a trap as she pulled him down into a searing kiss.

Sesshoumaru couldn’t resist and whimpered a bit when she pulled away.

“Sesshoumaru, I want to be able to be myself without you controlling me. So tell me how we work it out so I can be in control also. Tell me how we are going to make this work if you keep insisting I remain under your thumb when you know it is much more fun for me to be on top of you with you underneath. Is that not a form of independence?”

Aveline stated as Sesshoumaru shook his head. He was being mesmerized and he couldn’t do that. It would undo him.

“I cannot do this Aveline. I am a Lord of a castle.”

Sesshoumaru pulled away. He adored and loved this woman. He could not change his nature though in one day. Not even in one lifetime and she was too powerful in her spell over him.

“Aveline do not seduce me to get what you want like this. I am well aware of what you desire and you indeed win in that. However, I am not going to change in my traditions. You are my mate and you will be busy here.’
“Our mating isn’t taking your freedom away. It is changing some things in your life to surround me and you. We will have a family to consider too.’
“I am giving you new burdens to keep you busy. You do not think being a Lady of a castle is hard work? There is much to learn and although you will have servants you must maintain them. You will be going to many events, raising a child with me I will adopt with you, and we will be raising our own children. There will be help, but you and I must work together. I cannot do this alone anymore.”

Aveline frowned at this and leaned against the wall.

“You want me to be a housewife. I am not for that and I am no brood mare.”

Sesshoumaru sighed.

“Of course you will not. I am not an ogre Aveline. I am not going to take you making you pregnant every time we have a child. That would not be right. No, you will be my mate and my partner. Everything I do you will be directly involved in including the politics.’
“I am building a hotel in your America. We will be living there. I will need your expertise as well on how it should look and I need you to be my wife in all ways in that. We have to work as a team.”

Aveline then nodded. So he wasn’t being a complete chauvinistic asshole. He actually wanted her to be a direct partner in his life.

“Fine, but just know I am still pissed at you for up heaving my life still although you amused me immensely in your pink ensemble. It was quite fetching and I was impressed. You are indeed a beautiful man; do not though start dressing like that on a normal basis. I am not gay and if you are you had better stop it now since I am monogamous.”

Sesshoumaru smiled widely and then had a sad thought as the smile faded.

“You sound just like Inuyasha. I really indeed feel sometimes that you and he are more compatible than I am with you.”

Aveline frowned at that.

“I am not compatible with you or him. You are both assholes. I hate you both even if you both are good looking. I am still not certain about marrying you, but I am stuck with you so I am screwed no matter how I look at it. I want to love you, but I don’t know you Sesshoumaru. You took me from all I knew and made me come here. I feel attraction to you and lust. That isn’t the same thing.”

Sesshoumaru nodded and understood this. He was unsure that he did the courting process correctly anyway. Still, it was too late to fix things.

“I do not normally apologize for anything because it is below me. I do not feel sorry for what I have done. I do indeed though need to apologize for my courting technique since things have changed much since the days I had courted females. I did not have time to waste and I needed you. You are the first demon female I have found in centuries.”

Aveline then understood and it pissed her off.

“So you just grabbed me since I was your type and didn’t bother to see if there were any others while you were in the coffee shop? Sure you have looked for centuries, but where have you looked really? I know from your blood you stopped going anywhere for about 500 years. What did you fall of the face of the earth?”

Sesshoumaru frowned at this and was indeed hurt. Hadn’t his blood explained the circumstances of that time frame?

Aveline almost felt sorry for saying this, but she was hurt too and he was making her feel guilty with that sad defeated look in his eyes. It wasn’t right when she had every reason to be angry with him.

“I was in mourning.”

Sesshoumaru stated softly.

“For 500 years? You mourned for 500 years and never ventured out for a mate so you cannot lie to me saying you have searched for centuries. I am sorry Sesshoumaru, but you brought that upon yourself.’
“You might as well have died hiding yourself for so long. I am not trying to be cruel, I am being honest and honesty isn’t tactful. It is painful sometimes.’
“You gave up on life and everyone else. I can understand that for someone you love. Can you really not die? You have been so alone for so long, how could you stand it? I know I hated people like that and wanted the same things. I wanted to disappear, but it didn’t make things better. It made them worse.”

Aveline stated feeling cold and unfeeling. Turning away from Sesshoumaru unable to bear the hurt in his eyes or her own she tried not to cry. It was too sad.

“You are right, honesty is cold. It is unfeeling at times, but to hear it from you is even harder to bear. I know I didn’t live and didn’t want to. Unlike my Father though I did not find a foe that was strong enough to destroy me or I would have died in honor.”

Sesshoumaru stated unable to move. If he did he would fall to his knees. His mate had been too honest with him and caught him in a lie. It was shameful.

“Sesshoumaru…………..”

Aveline stated as she turned to look at the man who was defeated with tears falling down his cheeks. Aveline watched him fall to his knees and she fell with him holding him tightly. Her mate was devastated by guilt and the loss of someone whom he held so dear that it destroyed what was left of his life for years.

“Do not cry Aveline. I am shamed for what I have done and for what I did to you. I do not know how else to be.”

Sesshoumaru sobbed as Aveline rocked him in her arms shushing him gently as she stroked his hair. There was so much pain in this man and he had been alone too long letting it all fester inside of him like an open wound that never healed.

“Sesshoumaru, I do love you. Something in me loves you very much and you are so damn hard on yourself. I have to be hard on you too. You are not a child, but a man. Still I didn’t understand how innocent you really are. There are things about you even though you are this demon that is so beautiful to me and I know deep inside too you are a killer who causes such fear in creatures that they cower before you.’
“You want to accept a new life, yet, you want to keep your traditions. You cannot have both and you cannot have everything in this world. Some of them are wonderful, but others you as a Lord need to change to catch up on all you have missed. If you wish for the world to love you again you must accept things in this world as they are. You must accept me as I am and I will accept you with both of us having to do some changing to adjust. I will be here for you.”

Aveline stated softly as she held his face in her hands and Sesshoumaru drove forward kissing his mate for all he was worth. He loved Aveline even if she was a damn stubborn bitch. She was really good at helping him understand all of these things that had been so turbulent inside of him for so long.

“I am not that innocent my Lady, but I indeed appreciate the words you have given me. Now I want you to teach me love and we will learn it together. We are still new to each other and have the rest of our lives.’
“I wish for you to be my wife in all things. Although we are expecting to be married within the week I never asked. Will you indeed marry me Aveline?”

Sesshoumaru stated pulling out a ring from his pocket. One that was indeed special that had belonged to his Mother that his Great and Powerful Father gave her when they mated.

Aveline looked at the ring in awe. It was a beautiful platinum ring with a crescent shaped moon cut into an opal with diamonds that sparkled all around the ring itself in a circular pattern.

“Yes I will. I don’t know you very well, but I have a good feeling about us.”

Sesshoumaru smiled widely showing off his fangs as a power grew around them making a red aura grow as Sesshoumaru completed the final rights to mating. It was what his demon required and it did take a bit of trickery to pull it off although his tears were nothing to laugh at. He meant how he felt, but it was a hell of a sacrifice to give to his mate when he showed so little emotions around everyone except for Inuyasha damn him. For some reason he could never hide them with his little brother.

“Can I make it official again Aveline?”

Aveline moved her hair to the side as Sesshoumaru kissed the spot he marked and slid the ring upon her finger biting into his beloved mate. Now she was fully his. Aveline moved Sesshoumaru’s hair doing the same as their aura’s collided causing a light to fill the room as it exploded outwards through the open windows letting the world know that the Alpha King had found his match.

Inuyasha bust into the room suddenly as the two demons held each other.

“Um……..guys………Kagome just went into labor so we have to go. Like now, so hurry up and get this shit over with before I die since I need you both like now.”

Sesshoumaru looked at the young Father who was freaking out a bit again rolling his eyes. Only Inuyasha could take a romantic moment like this and make it funny.

Aveline was lifted bridal style into her mate’s arms.

“Inuyasha go deal with your mate for once in your life. I am going to sleep with mine so if you wish to watch you can stay since I know you want to see me naked again.”

Inuyasha looked totally disgusted.

“You are so wrong you know that Sesshoumaru?”

Kagome yelled down the hall for Inuyasha to get his ass back there.

“Yes, but not as wrong as you are nor in as much trouble as you are.”

Inuyasha ran back to Kagome and then turned around running back to the room.

“Are you coming or what then?”

Sesshoumaru threw something at the door making Inuyasha close it.

“Well that was unnecessary. He could have just said no.”

Kagome yelled again and Inuyasha ran to the birthing room where he was pushed back out by the midwives.

“Hey let me back in there! I am the husband damn it all!”

Kouga just leaned against the wall looking at Inuyasha shaking his head as Inuyasha pounded the door.

“You are in this castle and you really thought you would get to be in the birthing room. You really are an idiot mutt face.”

Inuyasha just blew up and kicked it open as he heard the cries of his baby girl.

“Oh Inuyasha look, isn’t our little Rin beautiful?”

Kouga frowned and came into the room. The baby was born full demon with Inuyasha’s eyes and hair. No dog ears.

“Look at my sister Daddy.”

Akiyoshi stated rushing into the room with his puppy who was now a rather big dog although there was a lot of playfulness in Kokoa.

“She is beautiful.”

Inuyasha stated in awe as he held his child. Even Akiyoshi had changed becoming much stronger and Inuyasha’s hanyou blood was becoming even more demon since it was true. The demon blood always won out.
