Chapter 22

Chapter 22:

Inutaisha felt blood trickle down face as she tiredly fought against the demons that tormented her. She pulled against the chains that bound her as she thought of Kagoru and her friends. "Are you ready to help us?" Naraku's voice entered her thoughts.

"Fuck you. I'm never going to help you!" Inutaisha shouted back.

"You will." Naraku insisted as his hand gently reached out and took her chin.

The cool flesh against her own made Inutaisha want to throw up. She would rather feel Kagoru's flesh against her own than this bastard's. She gritted her teeth as he drew a nail across her cheek, causing fresh blood to pool from the wound. She growled loudly, letting him know that she would not stand for it. If only she had Tetsuseiga. "You're pathetic." He told her. "You're love for your human mate won't last forever."

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Inutaisha snarled at him.

"He's not going to be around forever."

"I swear if you harm one hair on Kagoru's head I will kill you Naraku." She shouted angrily.

He simply smirked at her as she struggled in her chains. "I'll let you think for a while." He then left her to her thoughts and the demons once more.

Inuyasha sniffed the air for any traces of Inutaisha's scent. He watched as Kagoru held tightly to Inutaisha's sword. "We'll find her." He reassured Kagoru.

Kagoru smiled half-heartedly. "Yeah I know."

"Don't worry. I'm sure Inutaisha is thinking of a way out of her situation as we speak." Shippa commented cheerfully.

"Yes. She is a smart girl." Sanga interrupted.

"Definitely." Mirra agreed.

Kagoru smiled at his friends. He knew they were trying to cheer him up. Ever since her disappearance he just could not stand to be without her. She was everything to him and now that she was in the hands of his enemies, he could not stand the thought of her being hurt.

Kagome linked her arm with his. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine."

"I know." Kagoru replied, but truly he didn't know.

Sessha sniffed the air and listened for anything that could betray Naraka's position. She knew of her sister's capture and personally couldn't believe what an idiot she was to go after their enemy without her or her group. Inutaisha was a fool for taking a human mate. She would be muddying their bloodline more by doing so. Damn her for being so foolish.

Whatever Naraka had in mind for her sister was not good and she wanted it to end. No one would kill her sister except for her. It was time to rejoin with Inutaisha's friends to see if they had found anything out.

Inutaisha could feel her legs give way as the bones in her legs snapped under the pressure of teeth of a demon. She couldn't kick now. She had to bite and claw to defend herself. However, she found it difficult to do so. This was not how it was going to end. She was going to get out of here and defeat her enemies. Damn it! Why couldn't she break these chains.

With her remaining strength she pulled on the chains that bound her hands. She grunted as she pulled fiercely, her shoulders protested in pain. "Come on!" She begged her body. "I have to get back to Kagoru." She cried out as she felt fangs sink into her flesh and an odd sensation as if she was being poisoned. Her body became limp and the world black.

Inutaisha woke up in a meadow. Her eyes blearily adjusted to the bright rays of the sun. Everywhere she looked was covered by bright green grass. Where was she? Wasn't she in Naraka's castle just a while ago? She stood up and began walking around. In the distance she saw a man with black hair. "Hello."

He turned around and looked at her. Inutaisha stepped back in surprise. "Father?"

"Inutaisha, i'm so proud of you."

"Proud?"

"I don't have much time to speak with you. Your mother and I are proud that you have found a mate. I wish I could have met him."

Inutaisha smiled to herself. "I seem to be doing a poor job of protecting him."

"You'll find a way out of those chains. Remember when you were little? You could get out of anything you wanted to. Now find a way out of the chains. It is not a matter of strength but of the mind."

She nodded, remembering the past with fondness. "Father, what if I can't break the chains? What if I fail? What if Naraka wins?"

"She won't. Believe Inutaisha believe."

She nodded and smiled at her father. "I love you father."

He smiled back. "I love you too."
