Always there

The sun slowly started to rise towards the sky. Kagome whined and opened her eyes. She looked around. They where all there, Sango, Miroku, Shippou and InuYasha.

‘Finally…It’s over.’

She smiled. Then looked at InuYasha.

‘Are we over?’

Just to think that thought hurt her.

‘He hurt me, and he acted so cruel, to protect me. But still. I love him, but I can’t be with him if he doesn’t want this child…’

InuYasha whimpered and his eyes slowly opened, and looked at her. They sat like that for a while. She almost forgot how to breathe. And when she did he smiled. She gave him an insecure smile back. He examined himself to see if his injuries was bad, but they had already healed. Kagome got on her feet.

“You should take it easy.” InuYasha said low.

“Probably” she said and walked out the door.

He instinctly followed her. She walked outside the village and sat down by the god tree.

“InuYasha, what do you want?”

“What?”

“What do you want with me?”

“I thought it was clear.”

“Yeah, you made it clear that all I was good for was too ‘fuck’”.

He could see her face expression. He knew that what he said had hurt her. Bad. She wasn’t the kind of girl you use for one night.

“I…”

“ Let me remind you what you told me, the day Mishizu and Takashi kidnapped me. You said: ‘I can’t do anything right, and now you’re pregnant.’”

“Yes I did.” Atleast he could be honest.

“I…In my time, the doctors have the power to remove an unwanted child…An…”

He smelled her tears. She smiled through them.

“InuYasha, before I met you. I never had sex, it took me a lot…a lot of guts to do that with you. This is what comes from sex. Love. I know what I want with this baby. Question is what do you want?”

She took her backpack and began to walk towards the bone eaters well.

“I’m going home. And you actually can’t really stop me, so please don’t try to. I’ll be back tomorrow…I need to know”.

He stared after her. Then he sat down in the god tree and thought about the whole thing. Kikyo was dead. She couldn’t do Kagome any harm, finally. Naraku was gone to, and Ishimaru…

‘I love her, I know that, and I’ve sworn to protect her. And a baby…’

He smiled at the thought of Kagome as the mother of his children. But then again, they will all be halfbreed, and might be bullied, like he was. Could he really go through that again?
He sighed heavily.

‘I guess I have her answer’.

‘Kagome, I love you no mather what…’

He leaned against the tree trunk and closed his eyes, trying to catch her scent in the air.

Kagome climbed out of the well. She was so tired! She had to sit down to rest, and then she felt something soft against her legs.

“Hi, Buyooo…” she smiled and pet the cat.

‘How do I tell everyone. They’ll be so disappointed in me…’

The way to the house seemed long and heavy. She opened the door, and found her family eating dinner.

“Hi guys!”

“Onee-chan!” Souta screamed and smiled.

Her mama saw something was bothering her.

“Kagome? Is there something you want to talk about?”

Her smile faded away.

“Yes mama…” a tear found its way down her cheek.

“I’m…I’m pregnant.”
They dropped their chopsticks and just stared at her.

“Wha…what?”

“I’m sorry, I should never….I just…I’m scared…” she cried.

Suddenly she got up and ran to her room slamming the door behind her.

“Kagome!” her mama yelled.

After a few minutes she heard a light knock on her door.

“Yes?”

“It’s mama.”

“Come in.”

She opened the door and went in and sat on her bed with her.

“Kagome…”

She took her hand and gently stroke her face.

“What are you going to do? I assume it’s InuYashas?”

“Hai” she nodded.

“I’m gonna keep it. Do you…think I’m stupid?”

She looked surprised.

“Stupid? Why would I think that?”

“You don’t think so?”

Kagome sat up.

“No. I got pregnant with you in your age, I was barely 20. It was the most wonderful time of my life, you and Souta mean everything to me.”

Kagome smiled.

“Why are you scared Kagome? You are more than ready for this.”

She laughed.

“You kill demons but you’re afraid of your own child?”

Now even Kagome laughed.
“It’s just…everything has been like a carousel…Kikyo came back from the dead… InuYasha and me broke up so many times that I’ve lost the count… I got kidnapped by his supposed half brother…and it’s just…so much to deal with…”

Her mother gave her a hug.

“What’s next?”

“I’m going back to the feudal era tomorrow. I put an ultimatum on InuYasha. I’m not going to do anything without hearing what he has to say first…”

Mrs. Higurashi smiled.

“I love you Kagome”.

“I love you to!”

“Now…go take a bath, you look like you want one. Then try to relax, you have our full support.”

“Hai.”

Her mother smiled and left the room. Kagome could hear the water hitting the bath tub.
They had taken the news very well. She was relieved about that. Now all that was left was talking to InuYasha…


Kagome slowly slipped down in the steamy water and sighed of pleasure.

“Whoooaaaa! This Is so nice!” she smiled.

Her body was a bit soar, but she had no bad injuries. She put her hand over her belly.

‘I wonder what you’ll be…’ she thought.

‘Either way you’re gonna be loved.’

After an hour she got up, dressed for bed, said her goodnights and crawled under her covers. But sleep didn’t come until dawn.

InuYasha sat in the grass in front of the well waiting for her. He would move until she showed her face. After a while he could feel her scent coming through the well. And suddenly she appeared infront of him.

“Kagome…”

He got up on his feet looking at her. She had slept bad. He could see it.

“InuYasha.”

She was so nervous.

“I have to explain some things before I tell you about my decision. I need to explain them.”

She nodded.

“You where right. I was scared. I’ve been scared since you came here. Not scared of you, but of losing you. Because with you I’m me. I’m all I can be and more. You make me feel like I’m flying. And Kikyo…She nearly ruined it. But honestly Kagome…I thought you trusted me a bit more than that. But on the other hand why would you? Ever since you got involved with me, I’ve been messy. Not cheating…but yeah you know. And then…when we encountered Hideaki and Kazuma I got insecure. I could hardly cope Kazuma, what would be next… And then Kikyo…”

She sat down on the well.

“InuYasha, you don’t have to…”

“Yes I do. Please. Let me.”

She looked at her shoes.

“When I killed her I felt guilt. I felt so bad that I felt like I was going under. The thing that saved me was that I had to let you go. I never ment to hurt you the way I did. Never!! But then…when you told me that you where pregnant, I kinda woke up again. Meeting Ishimaru, Mishizu and Takashi was scary, I thought I would loose you forever, and then you might never have known what I’m about to say. Kagome Higurashi, I love you, and im sorry for being a complete BAKA. I hope you can forgive me, and I’d gladly be the father of your children…Our children, if you just let me.”

He bent his head down. And heard nothing. He didn’t smell tears either.

“InuYasha…”

He looked up again.

“I love you, you stupid baka!”

“Really?”

“Hai!”

He ran to her and caught her in a long embrace.

“ I swear. I’ll never hurt you again, at least not purposely.”

She smiled and kissed him.

“I also know how important this is in your time…so I actually talked to Kaede-baba about human rituals…”

She looked into his eyes, they sparkled of joy.

“Will you marry me Kagome?”

She jumped up and down in his arms.

“Yes!! Yes! Yes!”

He lifted her up in his arms and jumped down the well.


EPILOGUE.

Kagome put little Itoe down in her cradle again and smiled. Life as married was great. Their daughter had Kagomes raven hair and InuYashas cute puppy ears. She was the most beautiful girl she had ever seen.

InuYasha put his arms around Kagome and kissed her neck. He truly felt blessed… He had her, and Itoe (*means blessed with love) And he could not have asked for something else.
He slowly let his hands wander over her body.

“InuYasha…”

“I have a great idea…” He mumbled against her neck and lifted her off to bed.

“You want to have sex?” she giggled.

“Something like that…I was more going to ask you if you wanted to make a sibling for Itoe” he smiled and kissed her soft lips.

“Sure…why not…” she said let her sentence trail off.

“And Kagome?”

“Mhm?” she said hoarsely.

“I promise you, ill never leave again, I’m Always There”

She gave him a bright smiled and pulled him down closer.
