A Bond Almost Healed

A/n: School is wonderful, I cannot believe how much I've learned in a two weeks. Not looking forward to my critical thesis, but other than that I'm having alot of fun, and still have time for my stories.

Thank you...

BastardOmega: Well, again I'm afraid I have some disapointing news...well, y-you see...um...there's no lemon!
But I promise lots of it in the next chapter...and I hopefully you won't have to wait long!
.

Megan: thank's for the review, its good to see you're still reviewing.

I re-read this story, and couldn't believe how bad it looks. (Thank you everyone, who looked beyond that!) I'm currently going through chapters and revamping them. Fixing major grammar errors, and adding detail.

Enjoy!

Chapter 23
A Bond Almost Healed

Kagome stormed out of the room completely frustrated. ‘What in the hell is wrong with those two?’ she thought, the more she contemplated about the ordeal with her mates, the angrier she became. She growled, “Men…no…! damn, dog demons!”

She took a deep breath, stilling her nerves. She knocked on Sango’s door, only to hear a threatening growl, followed by a hiss, and then Sango’s calming voice. Kagome taken back, moved away from the door. ‘Was this the cat that Inuyasha confronted last night?’

Steeling herself, Kagome knocked again, “Sango…I’m sorry to bother you-?”

Kagome didn’t finish her sentence when the door suddenly flung open. “Lady Kagome, I’m sorry I couldn’t get to the door sooner.” Sango said flushed and out of breath.

Kagome raised her brow, curious of Sango’s anxious behavior. Not to mention, that her hair was tussled and her face bright red. “Are you alright?”

“Y-yes, Lady Kagome, everything is fine…”

Kagome smiled, “Are you sure? You look a little flushed to me?” Kagome frowned seeing her friends eyes widen. Kagome knew Sango was hiding something important and whatever it was, she just interrupted.

Kagome smirked, and crossed her arms across her chest, hoping that her friend would just spill the beans!

“Well I don’t think this is a good time right now Kagome,” Sango said, biting her bottom lip. She prayed that she wouldn’t have to explain to Kagome who she had in her bed. “How about in an hour, you come back…then I would love to talk. I had a hard night and just want to sleep a bit longer.” Sango smiled, seeing that Kagome didn’t sense anything amiss.

Kagome smiled, ‘you’re so full of shit,’ “Okay Sango…one hour!” Once the door closed soundly, Kagome sniffed the air. She certainly didn’t want to seem rude and try to sniff Sango. When the door was open, all she could smell was dried blood and a female cat—unfortunately, the scent was identical out in the hall. Figuring she would pry the information out of her friend later, she decided to head to the kitchen for some breakfast. She wondered, if her mates where doing okay…and not trying to kill each other.

The palace halls were quite and she figured that the servants were hard at work. Her ears perked up suddenly, when she heard swearing coming from behind the kitchen doors. She picked up her pace, hoping that her kimono would stay securely tied. She certainly wasn’t dressed, to be wondering the halls, but it was early in the morning, more or likely everyone was still sleeping. However, the way the man was ranting, the whole palace would be up soon. ‘Maybe, I should just come back later!’

Inuyasha sat still in the bed, the sheet barley covering the lower half of his body. At, least his brother was dressed. “I don’t know what to say…” he scratched his head, hoping that the bond wasn’t severed. “…I’m sorry,” he whispered softly; he just wanted to make it right.

“No, need to be sorry, little brother. I also felt the same jealousy. I swear to you that I will never go against you again! I was wrong, and if anyone should be apologizing, it should be me!”

Inuyasha’s eyes widened, it was very rare to hear that Sesshomaru was admitting that he was in the wrong. His brother was always, so prideful with his believes. He smiled, grabbing a loose fitting pair of silk pants, which lay next to the bed. Pulling them on, he glanced over at his brother. “Thank you, that really means a lot to me…come let’s get out of here! There’s a mate that needs a good pestering.” He laughed lightly, noticing his brothers’ right brow arch.

Kagome sat on a large rock near the Koi pond outside. She watched the various types of fish swim around. It was peaceful outside, and sound of songbirds filled the air. She was grateful the Ravens where gone. The palace guards had done a good job, killing most of them, while the others flew away. She rubbed the jewel tenderly—it was only a matter of time, before they’d be back. Therefore, she didn’t want to be outside alone for to long.

She leaned back against the flat bolder, warming herself against the suns golden rays. Her kimono slipped open exposing her inner thigh. She felt relaxed-- however, her thoughts kept returning to her mates.

She didn’t feel as angry as she did earlier that morning. She rather wished they were beside her, just holding her. It felt so long ago, that she been with both brothers together—and she missed it immensely. She closed her eyes fantasizing their very-touch, against her soft skin.

Her hands trailed along her neck, wishing one of them were kissing her. Her body tingled all over, feeling an overwhelming desire to be with them; she frowned, and stopped her movement. They were not here, and she needed a cold bath. Kagome suddenly felt uncomfortable being outside, and not to mention, that she was about to touch herself. “Oh, God!” she groaned, more so, due to frustration.

Sitting up, Kagome smoothed her silk cover. Her ears suddenly attuned with her surroundings, she growled— she wasn’t alone. She could only imagine what her mates would scold her about now! They probably saw almost me touching my self’ she felt mortified, and couldn’t understand why? Was it because she been outside, instead of touching herself in the privacy of her room.

“Don’t let us stop you!” Inuyasha said, smirking.

She smiled, ‘good at least their not mad at me!’ she thought. She turned her head in their direction; she chose to ignore Inuyasha’s innuendo. “Did you two work things out…? Or, are you here to tell me different?” She sighed, steeling herself from her desires. She needed to be firm! “I need to know, before either of you, lay a finger on me!” she growled, “Do I make myself clear?” She turned her head around, closing her eyes. She just waited, however nothing but silence then a deep growl. ‘Here it comes,’ she braced herself mentally.

Sesshomaru growled, only because he was a dominant male, and she just challenged him. However, he would let it slide this one time—her anger was justified. He approached her from behind as he watched her quickly stand. Their eyes met, his softened, “Kagome? Why do you think we’re standing here for? Are you afraid that I might have some bad news?” He growled out anger evident in his voice, “Use your instinct’s girl!”

Kagome’s eyes widened, “What!” she yelled defensively. She gritted her teeth, ‘oh, the nerve…!’

Sesshomaru tweaked her noise, not harshly, just enough to emphasis his meaning. “Your nose…woman, did you forget how to smell!”

Kagome stood stunned, she’s never seen him behave this way before—she expected this from Inuyasha—but not from Sesshomaru! She rubbed her nose gingerly, it didn’t hurt too bad. She turned her attention to Inuyasha, she narrowed her eyes coldly—he just had to stand there laughing.

However, first things first, “Yes, of course I know how to smell! Did you hit your head or something?” She laughed, “Did you and Inuyasha fight?”

Sesshomaru smirked, his pearly white fang hanging over his lip. He tweaked her nose again this time hearing an ‘Ouch!’ He paid no mind to the daggers she was currently shooting at him now. “Do we smell like we’ve been fighting? I figured you would have gotten it the first time, I tweaked your nose?”

Frustrated and suddenly embarrassed, she did what any other rational woman would do—she stormed away, brushing past the taller demon, she even ignored Inuyasha. Sighing she hated the fact that Sesshomaru was right.

“Hey…!” Inuyasha yelled, “Where are you going?” He noticed she wasn’t heading toward the palace.

Kagome humped, “I’m going to take a bath, by the lake,” she stopped, and then turned her head addressing her two mates. “Alone!” Kagome proceeded to head in the direction, of the same lake where Inuyasha killed the frog demon. She was so upset; she prayed a lesser demon would confront her. She wanted to hurt something.

"Why are you so angry? Midoriko asked. She couldn’t rest with the sense of negativity suddenly surrounding her.

Kagome suddenly stopped; she looked around, and realized she was alone, although she could still smell her mates off in the distance. She rubbed the jewel, “I’m sorry.”

Midoriko sighed, “Kagome, it is quite normal to feel anger. I just asked you why?”

‘Grouchy are we?’ Kagome thought.

“Yes, I am! So, if you would kindly tell me why you are so upset with Sesshomaru. You’re the one that was in the wrong— Kagome, it’s not safe to presume, especially, if you’re not aware of the facts at hand!”

Kagome knew that she was in the wrong, ‘but Sesshomaru didn’t have to tweak my nose!’

Midoriko chuckled, “is that what has gotten you all in a tiff? Remember, I hear and see what goes beyond this barrier; I also can read your thoughts and feel your emotions. I might sound harsh, but it’s only because I care, and will not hesitate to tell the truth… whether you want to hear it or not!” Midoriko was silent for a moment; she could tell Kagome was letting her words sink in. “I think your mates have learned their lesson, and you should go back their and apologize as well.”

Kagome sighed, ‘very well.’

“Good,” Midoriko responded, “now that you’re calm, I can go back to sleep!”

Kagome smiled, ‘thank you!’ however Midoriko's thoughts where silent.

“Well?” Inuyasha asked impatiently.

Sesshomaru smirked, “We wait, and it’s only a matter of time before Kagome realized that she was in the wrong, and comes back.”

“You hope,” Inuyasha snickered. He nudged his brother’s side, “You didn’t have to tweak her nose!”

“Yes I did!” Sesshomaru growled looking at his brother, “She has to learn to use all her senses.” Suddenly he felt his brother clench his arm tightly, a low rumble in his chest. “Inuyasha…-?” He stuttered, he couldn’t believe it, there was Kagome standing a good distance away, but close enough, that he didn’t have to squint his eyes.

Kagome eyed the two with hungry eyes; she smirked, as she loosened the tie around her waist. Yelling as loud as she could, she said, “I'm sorry!” then let the sash slip away, opening her kimono to them. She quickly took it off, and then ran off in the direction of the lake.

Sesshomaru chuckled, “Hope you’re in for a good hunt dear brother?”

“I wouldn’t miss this for anything!” Inuyasha snickered, it was only a matter of time before the two where off, enjoying their pursuit.
