The Truth of the Necklaces
Gekka-O went to the smithery to retrieve the necklaces. He opened the door and found Ama-Tsu-Mara pounding over what appeared to be a sword. "Hey Ama are the necklaces done?"
Ama looked up from the sword and took a rag out of his apron to wipe his forehead. "I put Kanayama-hiko and his wife on those. They are better at the delicate details. They seemed the best choice. I hope you don't mind?"
Gekka-O bowed to Ama. "Thank you Ama I will go see them then." He walked out of the smithery and went to the rare metals shop. He opened the door to find
Kanayama-hiko and Kanayama-hime working at tables covered in rare gems. "Kan, Kana good to see you all again. Ama told me that he asked you to do the necklaces that I had requested. Are they ready?"
Kana rose from her table and walked to a cabinet and opened the doors. She pulled out two simular boxes and waked over and handed them to Gekka. "I think you will find these to your liking."
Gekka laid the boxes down on a near by table and took a seat in front of it. He placed the first box in front of him and opened the lid. He started laughing. There in the box was a silver collar with inu youkais in various positions. All their eyes were made from rubies. "I expected necklaces but you know this is so fitting."
He sat that box aside and opened the other. This collar was gold with the same design as the silver one. And it to had rubies for the eyes. "Aizen and Benten are going to love these. Thank you both." He went to stand up but was stopped by Kan.
Kan watched Gekka as he laughed over their joke. He knew Gekka would enjoy his wife's idea. "We did a little studying on the ones for who these were made. We know that they are both powerful demons and since they are both Inu Youkai, Kana thought that collars would work best. They have been made so that neither their poisons or the miko demons powers could remove them. Kana added a little something special for both of them as well. If they hurt each other at any time other than during mating or training they will be brought down very painfully and transported away from the other. This will ensure both their safety."
He turned to his wife "Did I forget anything?"
"Yes. The collars will grow when they change into their true form. So you have no fear of them being choked. I think that is all. The blue moon spell will work once the moon is in the correct position. I hope they like them." Kana walked over to her table and returned back to work.
"Thank you both on a great job. I will keep you informed of how well they work."
Gekka took the boxes and left the shop. Benten and Aizen will definitely like these. And since they can't hurt each other we can drop the barrier from Sesshoumaru's land once we get the necklaces attached.
Benten and Aizen were waiting for Gekka in their usual spot. "He is always so slow." Benten sat down below the tree.
Aizen laughed at her "And you are always impatient. He will be here shortly."
Gekka walked into the small clearing. He held up the two boxed. "I have them and I also have some good news." He waited for the others to ask him what.
"Its about time you got here. You are making us late." Benten stood and approached Gekka.
"Don't worry about her Gekka I think she got up on the wrong side of her cloud today or something. What's the good news?" Aizen jumped out of the way when Benten went to hit him.
"Kan and Kana finished the necklaces would you like to see them?" Gekka sat down and opened the smaller box. His friends gasped at the collars. Then they started laughing.
"How appropriate." Benten took the box from Gekka so he could open the other one. She liked it also.
"This was the good new?" Aizen looked at the collars and chuckled. Leave it up to Kan and Kana to do something like that.
"No they are just part of it. Kana put a spell on the collars that will stop them from hurting each other. If they do they will be transported away from the one they hurt. The collars will also grow with them when they take their true forms. Also none of their poisons or magic can undo the collars." Gekka watched his friends faces light up.
"So all we have to do is get the collars put on them then we can release the barrier." Aizen was glad about the barrier. It took a lot of energy keeping that thing in place.
"When are you going to place the collars on them?" Benten handed the collar back to Gekka.
"I wanted to show you them first. I am going to go place them on them now. It should liven things up around the two don't you think." With a wave of his hand he disappeared.
Benten and Aizen just looked at each other and started laughing again. After a little while they stopped. "Well back to work now." They both disappeared.
Gekka decided to start with the lord. He found him out patrolling his lands.
Sesshoumaru stopped to test the barrier. He held out his hand and felt the pulse of the barrier against it. So it is still in place. He sat on a tree that he had knocked down a few days ago when the barrier tossed him back.
Gekka watched the lord study the barrier. This is a good time. He opened the larger box and removed the golden collar. With a wave of his hand the collar disappeared. He watched the collar appear on Sesshoumaru's neck.
Sesshoumaru felt something tightening around his neck. Then he saw a soft glowing light that only lasted for a moment. He put his hand up to his neck and found something attached to his neck. It was some kind of metal. He couldn't see what it was exactly. As he felt around the collar he could find no release for the damn thing. Now what happened. He was getting upset at all the strange things that have been happening to him lately. No upset wouldn't describe his mood at the moment. He was way past that.
Gekka stayed long enough to ensure that the collar was attached and then he lowered the barrier. As soon as that was done he vanished into thin air. Now for the girl. He reappeared at the edge of the forest closest to the group of shard collectors. The girl was sitting around the fire helping the old miko sort herbs. He opened the smaller box and took out the silver collar. He once again raised his hand and the collar disappeared only to reappear around the girls neck.
Kagome felt like something was choking her. She jumped back when a glowing light started to surround her throat. For just a moment she couldn't breath.
Then the light stopped and she fell to the ground. She sat up and placed her hand on her throat. There was something around her neck. She got up and ran to her bag and pulled out her mirror. She groaned when she saw the collar around her neck. She looked up to the sky. Ha ha very funny you all. She knew the gods had did this. No one else would have dared. On the bright side the collar was very pretty. And the designs were amazing. It was worth a small fortune. She felt around the collar and couldn't find any way to remove the thing.
Gekka waited till the collar was secure around the girls neck before he vanished again.
