Prompt Summary: The deputy awakes in a strange place.

With a painful groan, the deputy began to regain consciousness after being roughly kicked with the toe of the sheriff's boot. Confused as to why his head was killing him or why he was being so rudely awoken, he tried to remember exactly what had been the last thing to happen, but all he could remember was dreaming about the beautiful girl that had been riding him like there was not tomorrow.

It was then that his mind began to clear and what was supposed to be happening finally began to dawn on him. He was supposed to be currently guarding the prisoner and not sleeping on the cold, hard ground. As the sheriff kicked him again, the deputy finally opened his eyes to find himself laying on the floor of a cell; the very cell the prisoner was supposed to be locked in.

That could only mean one thing: after the girl had made his dream come true and then left, which is what he had decided must of happened, the prisoner had somehow managed to pick the lock and hit him over the head.

If the sheriff didn't kill him for this, he would get his revenge on that coward. "Would you care to tell me exactly where the prisoner who is supposed to be getting ready to hang is?" the sheriff questioned even though the deputy's current predicament was enough to tell him exactly what had taken place in his absence.

"Forgive me sheriff, but that darn yellow-bellied cow pie must've picked the lock and knocked me over the head before I could stop him. I'll make sure to rustle me up a cowardly escapee," the deputy assured him as he finally stood back up.

But before he could make his way back out of the cell, the sheriff had stepped back out and relocked the cell door. " I think you have helped enough for one day," the sheriff told him before gesturing to the others to follow and began making his way back out of the jailhouse; ignoring the deputy's calls for him to return.
