A Royal Pain

Sesshoumaru lounged in the pillows with Inuyasha’s head resting on his legs. The poor pup was going to have quite the hangover when he awoke. Perhaps blood sake was just too much for Inuyasha and it would be better to just have the servants bring cherry juice to him.

Koga had left soon after the males were brought up to serve the Lords. They all seemed to be quite pleased to be out of the dungeons so they were doing their best to insure all the Lords were being taken care of.

Thing was, all the servant males were just young beautiful boys. None of them were of age to mate and that disturbed Sesshoumaru since the Lords who usually prefer the company of men were not using these boys for sexual services. They were just too young. He would have to go to the dungeons and see if there were any male soldiers who would take their place.

Sesshoumaru set his goblet aside as he ran his fingers over Inuyasha’s long hair. The pup was so beautiful in slumber that he hated to wake him up, but the fur wrap was back now from cleaning and it was time to leave the baths.

“Inuyasha…..”

Sesshoumaru stated tickling Inuyasha’s sensitive ears a little bit.

Inuyasha just swatted at him like he was a fly.

“Unnnnn………go away.”

Inuyasha moaned out since he was trying to remain asleep. He was so worn out from all the sex they had that all Inuyasha wanted to do is rest.

Sesshoumaru chuckled a bit at Inuyasha’s response as those full lips pouted making Inuyasha look like a surly child.

“It is time to wake up my love.”

Sesshoumaru whispered into Inuyasha’s ear.

Inuyasha groaned and stretched. He was still feeling the effects of the blood sake and really did not want to get up.

“I thought you said we were going to have a lie in.”

Sesshoumaru smiled at his grumpy mate.

“Well, that is the plan. I just figured you might want to get some of that meat while it is still fresh, but if you want to sleep and allow others to get the choice pieces before you than I am willing to wait.”

At the mention of food Inuyasha went to stand up but Sesshoumaru held him down.

“Sesshoumaru let me go.”

Inuyasha growled.

“You are still feeling the effects of the sake Inuyasha. I think it is best that you get up slowly since we don’t want you to pass out again do we?”

Inuyasha huffed, but nodded in acceptance as Sesshoumaru helped him get up.

“Just let me grab your fur wrap unless you want me to carry it and we can go out in these towels.”

Inuyasha shrugged.

“As long as I have the towel on there is no point putting on the fur. I can carry it though. I ain’t a weakling just because I drank too much sake.”

Sesshoumaru allowed Inuyasha to carry the fur as he helped Inuyasha walk out of the baths since he was still kind of tipsy.

Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kirara had been waiting for an escort to take them to Sesshoumaru’s castle for two days. Kagome was pushing to go there and forget about the escort, but Sango stated it would be safer plus the demons at the castle would not know who they were.

“Kagome, I know you want to go now, but if we do go without an escort we may be slaughtered by the demons there since they are expecting us to arrive by the escort. I know it seems like two days are a lot, but it all depends on if the escort is walking by foot or not. We need to do as the messenger told us.”

Kagome tried her best to hold her tears, but it was so hard when she was so used to having Inuyasha right there at her side and without his sword there with him he could be in danger of losing his soul to his demon half.

“I just want to get his sword to him and I want to see Inuyasha. I don’t trust these demons and I definitely do not trust Sesshoumaru after he tried to kill Inuyasha so many times. I don’t trust this whole thing and you both know how Sesshoumaru is so how can you trust him?”

Sango sighed wishing that Kagome was indeed from this era since she had to practically babysit Kagome and this was getting old. Even if she did love Kagome as a sister the girl was really trying all of their patience.

“Kagome, the messenger said that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are mated. That means Sesshoumaru cannot hurt Inuyasha since they are mates. I have told you about what that means and you still refuse to believe it.’
“When we get to Sesshoumaru’s castle we will see Inuyasha, but fact is when we get there if they are not back from the battlegrounds yet you will just have to wait.’
“Sesshoumaru will be busy with his duties and Inuyasha will have new duties to attend to. He is a Lord now so you need to educate yourself on how to deal with that situation because that means he will not act the same when he comes to see you.’
“Now while we have time Miroku and I will teach you what you need to know, but you have to listen and do what we say or you might end up doing the wrong things and some things are punishable by death.”

Kagome was a bit freaked out over all of this. She had changed so much just to be in the village with Inuyasha learning everything so that she could become a miko for the village. Now she was supposed to sacrifice that and everything else to become a Lady for Inuyasha. From her education in history class it was a much harder life for someone like her who had so many freedoms. Even at Kaede’s village she had more freedom to do as she pleased as long as it didn’t offend anyone.

“Fine, I will try to learn what I am supposed to do, but that doesn’t mean I am wrong.”

Sango and Miroku both gave each other that wary look hoping that Kagome would do as they told her.

“We are going to practice here since Lord Takeda is available to help show you what is expected of a Lady.’

Kagome knew about bowing before a Lord and most of what her friends were teaching her. The biggest problem would be not making an outburst when Inuyasha arrived. She wanted to both hug and strangle her husband. If Inuyasha wouldn’t have mated his brother, than Kagome wouldn’t have to do all of this. It was one thing to have sex with his brother, it was something totally different to mate him and Kagome wanted to know why Inuyasha would do that to them both. It just wasn’t fair that she had no say in what Inuyasha did anymore.

First Sango taught her the tea ceremony since she would be serving tea often to her husband. Then there was the issue with her clothing. They would all have to buy new Kimonos that would be appropriate for the court.

Sango, being who she was, could always wear her armor underneath any kimono since it represented the village where she was from and the design on her ‘cat suit’ showed that she was indeed a Lady of the slayer’s village and if Sesshoumaru didn’t like it he could kiss her ass. Sango would not betray her people by doing anything different. The only reason she was not wearing it right at the moment was because she was pregnant with their fourth child. This she explained to Kagome who was wearing her miko clothing.

“You will still be able to use your miko power Kagome. Just because you have to dress differently does not lower your value to what will be your new position as a Lady of the Manor.”

Kagome really didn’t want to give up the clothing Kaede gave her since it was very comfortable. Still, Kagome was smart enough to know that she would have to be dressed in the silk kimonos that would be commissioned for her to wear.

“There will also be servants who bathe you, dress you, and feed you. The bath servants for a Lady are usually female although there have been some males in the past. I am pretty certain that Sesshoumaru would most likely have more male servants than female, but we shall see.’
“As Inuyasha’s wife you will most likely be bathing in separate areas unless it is decreed otherwise.”

Kagome nodded.

“Will Sesshoumaru still require you to give him a Lord’s bath? I still do not understand what that whole thing entails.”

Sango explained everything that one had to do in order to give a Lord’s bath and Kagome was shocked by it.

“You may have to give your husband a Lord’s bath at some point, but it is usually the job of servants to do this sort of thing.”

Kagome felt a tinge of jealousy. She did not want Inuyasha to have sex with servants. It was her job to please her husband in such ways and of course Sesshoumaru since it was pretty much a given that Inuyasha already had sex with his brother.

In some ways Kagome would like to see her husband and Sesshoumaru making love to each other, but part of her was a bit jealous of that too since it had been always her and Inuyasha. It was kind of like having Kikyo back and it hurt Kagome a bit that her husband wouldn’t see her as he did when they were at the village.

Still, Kagome wanted to be with Inuyasha no matter how hard it might be. She loved no one else like she did Inuyasha and it was hard to believe that Inuyasha would change after all this was done. It was difficult to imagine her Inuyasha behaving like a Lord rather than the crazy hanyou that she was used to.

Lord Takeda was listening into the conversation Sango was explaining things to Kagome. He had some things that he had commissioned for Sango if she was to become his wife. These kimonos should fit both Sango and the young girl Kagome. The monk however would have to see the tailor since Lord Takeda was taller than Miroku.

Kuranosuke Takeda still wanted Sango as his wife and would indeed take her children in if anything happened to the monk. He wondered if she knew this, but decided to keep quiet about it since this was not the time to speak of such things.

The young Kagome must have been an orphan because she should know what Sango and Miroku were teaching her. It was basic knowledge on how Lords would be treated. Perhaps she could attend some etiquette lessons from his teachers. It would be good for her to practice what was being taught to her. Kuranosuke would ask about that after her lessons with the monk and Sango were done.
