Chapter 20:

Inutaisha had forced Kagoru to stay behind with Kagome and the others. She had known that Kimi would go after Naraka once they smelled her scent. She had gone without Inuyasha to back her up. Well she would be okay to go on her own.

She sniffed the air and caught Naraka's scent then ran off towards the center of the forest that she saw Kimi bound off to. Inutaisha felt a feeling of danger and anger come over her. However, she could not let Naraka get away. The thought of that bitch trying to hurt her Kagoru spurred her to hasten her pace.

She kept her pace till she found a clearing. Inutaisha stopped suddenly and felt the same sense of danger come over her. She felt as if she stepped into a trap. She wasted no time pulling out Tetsuseiga and looking around to see if she could see anything.

Suddenly she felt someone hit her in the back, causing her to slide heavily against the dirt. "Bitch!" She cried out as she turned around to find Kimi behind her. "What the hell is your problem?! We're supposed to be looking for Naraka not fighting each other!"

"I've had enough of you. I'm letting her get you so I can have Kagoru to myself. Don't worry, i'm sure he'll get over your death quickly."

Inutaisha growled loudly as her eyes turned a blood red color. "BITCH! You dare try to take my Kagoru! I'll KILL!!!" She then launched herself at Kimi and began choking the wolf demon. "Kagoru isn't around to stop me this time!"

"What will he think of your final moments when I tell him that you died trying to kill me?" Kimi asked as she kicked off Inutaisha.

Inutaisha only growled more. "You bitch. I can't believe you would betray us like this."

"I'm not betraying anyone." Kimi snarled.

"You are. You are betraying everyone that trusted you by working with that bitch!" Inutaisha snarled back. "Especially Kagoru."

"Oh please. One indiscretion won't damage my reputation."

Inutaisha growled loudly then pointed Tetsuseiga at Kimi. "If you are going to betray us, i'm going to kill you!" She shouted as she lunged at the wolf demon.

The two girls battled it out, neither one gaining on the other. Inutaisha felt her rage build till she could no longer stand it. She felt her fangs grow longer as her mind only concentrated on one thing, killing the betrayer in front of her. She lunged at Kimi as she swung Tetsuseiga at her. There was one ultimatum for her, either kill or be killed.

Meanwhile, Naraku watched Inutaisha battle it out with Kimi. It would be mere minutes before they would spring their trap on Inutaisha. His intent was simple, he would force her to mate with him. He had never been interested in such a thing before, but now he knew what she could do under the right circumstances. Now, he thought, was the time.

Inutaisha didn't see nor hear a large, vine-like substance rush at her. She gasped in shock when several caught her arms and legs and pulled her back in the forest. Inutaisha screamed her rage as she felt another vine cover her mouth. Tetsuseiga fell away from her hands as she desperately ripped at the vines. The red in her eyes was unmistakable. She would kill someone soon. She didn't care who it was.

Kagoru paced about the camp feeling nervous. Where was Inutaisha? Why was she gone so long? She should have been back by now. He knew something was wrong. There had to be something wrong. "Don't worry Kagoru." Kagome said, sensing the nervousness from her counterpart, "She'll be fine."

Kagoru suddenly saw a tornado head towards the village, meaning that Kimi was coming back. She stopped shortly in front of him and regarded him sadly. "Where's Inutaisha?"

"I am so sorry Kagoru. I couldn't save her." She then showed Kagoru Inutaisha's sword.

Kagoru gasped softly. "I don't believe you. I would know it if she was dead. Naraka couldn't have killed her so easily. You are lying!"

"No i'm not!" Kimi shouted back. "She's dead!"

"No she's not! I can tell and when I find her I am marrying her!"

"Marry a corpse for all I care! When you come to your senses i'll be around."

Kagoru bit his lip as he took Tetsuseiga from Kimi and turned around to stomp off. He knew she wasn't dead. She couldn't be.
