Chapter 20



When they reached the building that Sesshoumaru had a meeting in she was a little impressed it was tall with glass windows going the whole way up. “Come on.” Sesshoumaru took her hand and led her inside.



They took the elevator to the top floor and met with an elderly man with a grey beard and hair. “Sesshoumaru my boy it has been to long.” He smiled kindly at Kagome, “You must be Kagome the girl Inu No tshio continues to go on about.” She just nodded. He smiled to her and then grasped her hand lightly and kissed it but soon let go and he heard Sesshoumaru’s growl of possessiveness. “It seems that even if you are not mated he treats you as such.”



Sesshoumaru huffed at the thought but took the old youkai’s hand any how. “Yato father said you would have some papers for me.” Sesshoumaru said in an as a matter of fact tine of voice.



“Of course, follow me.” He led them into a fairly nice office and Sesshoumaru offered the chair in front of the desk to Kagome and opted to stand. “Your father wanted to know if he and I could work together, he has a new plan and wants to fund some research on Cancer. And of course I am most willing to except funds for that any where we are currently working on a mutated strain of another virus.”



Sesshoumaru nodded his head, he knew that most of the research was kept top secret until it was proven to work continually and with little to no side affects. “Of course did you need my signature then?”



“Yes, you being the CEO of you r fathers company I need both of your signatures and he had faxed his copy with the signature back al we need is your now.” Yato said as he handed a paper over to Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru leaned over the desk and signed.



Yato showed them to the door, “It has been a pleasure working with you as always give my regards to your father for me seems how we did not work in person this time and I was unable to myself.”



Sesshoumaru and Kagome walked to the elevator and to the car. “Sesshoumaru, how come you didn’t tell me that you were the CEO of Tasukies and Inu’s company?” Kagome asked as they were seated and on their way to the mall.



“You didn’t ask, besides where do you think that I got my money for my car. It sure didn’t come from my fathers account, well not directly any ways. Truth be told after you and I mate the company will be left to Shippo and I and Inuyasha will regrettably be the CEO. When the two of them retire but they will always be on the board so they can intervene any time they wish, which makes me uneasy knowing that Tasukie will be there. I will not allow him to fuck up the company after he and father turn it over.” Sesshoumaru said as he drove.



As they reached the mall Kagome drug Sesshoumaru into a male clothing store and he tried on all sorts of cloths, half of them not even tuxes. He looked really good in the suits; she wanted to jump him where he stood.



Sesshoumaru watched as she eyed him like he was he favorite candy. He followed her tongue as she licked her lips. He leaned closer, “Do you like this outfit Kagome?” He asked in a soft yet deep voice, it was sensual in its tone, it dripped

sex.



Kagome only nodded her head, “Now if only I could get you out of then and not be interrupted.” She said.



“Obviously she hadn’t realized she said it out loud because she snapped out of her daze and blushed when Sesshoumaru replied, “Just wait until I get you home Kagome I will have you screaming for a whole week-end straight Inuyasha and Kikyo will not be able to compete. You will return to school without a voice.”



Sesshoumaru smirked when Kagome once more got a glazed look about her as if she were imagining what he would do. “Kagome quit getting all horny and tell me what color under shirt I should were.” He wanted to match her so that everyone there knew that she as his.



Kagome shook her head and then searched the rack for the perfect color blue, it matched him forehead and her dress. His tie wa black to it was ok. Kagome piled his cloths up on the counter and wtched as Sesshoumaru pulled out his card to pay while the cashier, who happened to be a guy, flirted with Sesshoumaru.



Kagome just laughed and wrapped her arm around Sesshoumaru’s back and rubbed his lower back as he tried to ignore the male in front of him. When he had told Inuyasha that plenty of straight men found him attractive he was kidding, now there was some truth to it. Oh if Inuyasha could see him now, he would be laughing his ass off. At least Kagome had taken some pity on him and hand wrapped her arm around him to stop him from killing the imbecile in front of him.



Kagome was inwardly laughing her ass off. This was too good, she too remembered the straight male comment and she found this to be way too funny. When the male seen he was not getting any wear with Sesshoumaru he turned his attention to Kagome.



She just rolled her eyes and wrapped her other arm across Sesshoumaru’s stomach. Seeing this, the male finished ringing them up and they left the store. On the way out Sesshoumaru stopped at a window and spotted a cocktail dress that he simply loved. It was black and blue; coincidently it was the same on Kagome had already bought. ‘Well at least I know he’ll like the dress.’ Kagome thought.



It was well into the after noon at this point. By the time they finally got home Kouga already had dinner made and on its way to the table. “Wow, Kouga this looks good, I can’t wait to have some.” Kagome said as they all sat down.



“Well you always cook for me so I figured I would show off what I have learned in the kitchen since you left.” Kouga commented before taking a bit. “Ha, it’s even edible.”



They ate in silence for a while, “Kouga do you have every thing done for the ball tomorrow?” Kagome asked, “Sesshoumaru and I would be happy to help in any way we could.” Sesshoumaru scowled at being volunteered without permission, but stayed silent none the less.



“While we are here I want to talk about Tasukie, I couldn’t before but now I feel that we can.” Sesshoumaru spoke up.



“I don’t really sense any thing different about him but it’s strange. He has always had a bit of an evil aura about him.” Kagome said. “Its never been real bad until recently.”



“Perhaps he is after it too.” Kouga said.



“After what?” Sesshoumaru asked looking from one to another.



“When I left the mountains gramps gave me one last lesson. Never eat the yellow snow.” Kagome said very seriously.



“What does that have to do with any thing?” Sesshoumaru asked.



Kouga on the other hand was drinking and shot the water out of his nose when he heard that. He started laughing and trying to whip it off his face.



“Nothing,” Kagome laughed. “But seriously. Have you ever heard of the Shikon?”



“You mean the Jewel of Four Souls? Yeah I have heard of it.” Sesshoumaru said to the now serious room.



“I am to be the new keeper, except it is in a new form, its not longer a jewel it was transformed to hid it better. After 1642 it was hidden away from those who wish to use it for evil because a pure wish could not be made, the power continually corrupted the barer. Only a high ranking pure miko can wield and over come the power and corruption. Its said that it will be needed to thwart the forces rising to steal the transformed jewel.” Kagome explained.



“When I was younger I was always never lower than a class two Miko I was born with that power, I went to temples all over the world to study and while at one of them a monk made a prophecy if you want to call it that. He saw that I was to be the bearer of the new form of the jewel. Ever since then I have trained and looked for it, I am hoping to find it before graduation.” Kagome finished.



“I see. So the explains why you are waiting until then, but I do not think that if you and I mated now that it would matter because we would be mating and not just having sex that is considered a sacred thing.” Sesshoumaru stated.



Kagome nodded that she understood. “But still are inu’s not the type to not stop matting, for the first time after taking a mate until their mate is pregnant?” She was a bit worried about that. What if she wanted to go off to college? Would she have to go as a mother?



“Yes that is true but are wolves not the same?” He asked.



“Generally no, we are not that bad we usually lock ourselves away for a night of passion and if it doesn’t happen then than well we just go about it like normal. But inu’s lock themselves away until they are pregnant right?” Kouga asked.



Sesshoumaru nodded his understanding. “Ok so any ways you believe that he is after the altered form of the jewel?”



Kagome and Kouga nodded, “And if that is the case we need to find it and keep it the hell away from him.”



Again Sesshoumaru nodded, “So where was the last place it was seen?”



“The last place it was seen was in Edo before it mysteriously disappeared. But then it was excavated and what was found is now touring the world.” Kagome said.



“I believe the exhibit is actually in the Smithsonian Museum, In D.C. You would have to fly over their. Or you could wait until the tour gets to California next week. It should be here right before you are set to leave.” Kouga said.



“Great, do me a favor and get three tickets.” Kagome said.



Kouga and Sesshoumaru gave her a questioning look. “Did you honestly think I would go to find something this important and not have two of the strongest males I know accompany me? Not to mention the two most important to me.” Kagome explained once she sent he looks of confusion.



Kouga nodded his head in understanding, and Sesshoumaru knew that she would need all three of them to protect it out in the open like that. “That makes sense you are going to need all the power you can get to protect it. I should call Inuyasha and have him come over as well as bring our old swords.” Sesshoumaru looked at Kouga, “If that is ok with you.”



Kouga nodded and then they finished the meal, Sesshoumaru called Inuyasha and Kagome called Souta.



“Kagome, who is Souta?” Sesshoumaru asked as they were going up to bed.



“Souta is my Twin brother, he has been away in boarding school training with the monks and he was sent to the mountains after that for Demonic energy training and stuff like that. He is going to be very powerful. Luckily I sent him a cell phone a couple of years back or I would have to contact him another way.”



“How come you never mention him?”



“Souta and I have always been close but he and I had a falling out a couple of years back because I was allowed to go home and he had to continue to train because even though we left a t the same time I was always stronger than he was. So they kept him longer because they said he was not training hard enough. He thought it was my fault that I was to blame because I was always stronger. I didn’t get mad but he didn’t want to talk to me for a while, but he has grown up a bit from then, now we talk occasionally, I am kind of nervous for him to meet you. You see he has the ability to read minds and he used it all the time on any boyfriend I let him meet.” Kagome said.



“So you are nervous about me meeting him but not about me meeting Kouga. I don’t get it.” Sesshoumaru said.



“Well Kouga always gives into what I want if I really want it, but Souta knows that he can be more firm with me and get away with it.” Kagome said as they entered Sesshoumaru’s room. “So what are these swords that you are having Inuyasha bring?”



“Tokijin, Tensaiga, and Tensiega. (Spelling to the two swords.) The last two were made from father’s fangs. Each was given to us to protect us from the other; you see my brother and I didn’t really get along with one another that well. We were thrown out of fathers’ house because we continued to destroy it. We left and fought across the country side.” Sesshoumaru said as he handed Kagome a shirt of his.



“What about the Tokijin?” She asked.



Sesshoumaru sighed he knew that it was coming, “I was jealous about the fact that Inuyasha had the better sword, but I was young and I did not see the advantages of having the sword. I had to show compassion to use it and I was short on that at that point in my life. Goshinki and other demon broke the Tensiega and I forged a sword from his fang.” Sesshoumaru said.



“So you beat Goshinki?”



“No, Inuyasha did I took after he left the demon in pieces.” Sesshoumaru said as he pulled her into his embrace.



“Oh.” She yawned before she fell asleep.
