A New Path

Litara ran after Inuyasha desperately. She knew what could happen to a demon, especially a half demon, when the one they thought was their soul mate became mated to someone else. Even though Sesshomaru and Kagome were not yet mated, the fact that the ring showed them as true soul mates would be just as devastating to Inuyasha.

‘Inuyasha cannot suicide, he just can’t! I won’t let him!” She thought, stopping for a moment to recapture his scent. When she was sure that she was going in the correct direction she redoubled her efforts. She finally came upon him at the edge of a cliff. He was standing precariously close to the edge, and was visibly shaking from silent tears. She rushed over, grabbed his robe and yanked him back, tossing him onto his back on the ground.

“Inuyasha! You can not allow this news to destroy you! You knew that they were true mates long before that ring came to be on Kagome’s finger. How could you not notice the mating marks? Sesshomaru had one as well as Kagome, which shows that the mates are perfectly compatible. And don’t tell me your nose decided to fail, when Kagome was aroused by a single touch of Sesshomaru’s hand on her hair.” Litara said.

“Yeah I noticed all of that, but it wasn’t quite as…prominent as that ring! Now Sango and Miroku and even Kagome’s mother know! They know that I don’t have a chance and am once again second rate as compared to Sesshomaru. I can’t bear that any longer!” He shouted.

“That is even less of a reason to end your life! It’s not the least bit true! Just because Sesshomaru is older and full demon doesn’t mean he’s better than you! It just means that he is different, and you are unique. You are better at some things than he is, and he is better at some than you are. That is how things go! You are just as good of a demon as he is!” She retorted.

“Then why did Kagome choose him over me?! Why, when I’ve known her so much longer than he has, I’ve protected her from so much! Why didn’t she choose me?” He cried.

“It was you who didn’t choose her in time. You chose Kikyo over her, which led her to her true soul mate. Yes Inuyasha, soul mate. She has no earthly choice in the matter. Even if she truly hated Sesshomaru like she hates Naraku, they would be drawn together. It is not a contest of who is better, it is fate.” She said, “If you had chosen her over Kikyo, you would have had her for a while, but in the end you would have lost her. She is not your soul mate, perhaps you should try to find the one who is.”

“I don’t want someone else to be my soul mate!” Inuyasha lunged at her and knocked her onto the ground, he lashed at her with his claws but she managed to push his arms away. She flipped them so that she was on top, holding his arms down with all her strength. He fought against her, but she held on and stared him in the eyes. The intensity of her look caused him to still. Suddenly, Litara’s head darted toward his and her mouth crashed over his. Inuyasha stared wide eyed at her in shock. She bit his bottom lip and caused him to cry out in pain. Taking advantage of his open mouth she slid her tongue in to dominate his. Inuyasha relaxed and began to respond. She loosened her hold on him and he wrapped his arms around her back. The passionate kiss went on for some time, as two tongues fought for dominance and Litara’s hands reached up to stroke Inuyasha’s ears. He groaned into her mouth and she inwardly smiled when she felt his manhood stir. She rubbed her body against his causing him to groan even more. When he finally growled and started to try to flip them over, Litara sprang away from him. He looked at her in confusion and lust as she straightened her clothes and hair.

“Perhaps you have learned from Kagome’s lesson, but we will see. Don’t think you’ll get what you want that easily. Oh no, you will have to work for it. You decide what is worth your time, jumping off that cliff, or finding your true soul mate. I must return to my duties at the camp, Kagome is summoning me.” She said, smirking at him as she turned and ran back to camp. There was no summons, but it made for a good excuse to high tail it as fast as possible. No way was she going to give in to the hanyou that easily, he was going to have to prove himself worthy of her.

Inuyasha stared after the female dog demon. She was crazy! He looked down at himself and groaned. No way could he return to camp in his current condition, and there were no cold streams about. He smelled water, but it was hot water and would do nothing for his erection.

‘At least it will clean off the evidence when I’m done.’ He thought, then grimaced. He hadn’t had the need for this since Kagome left him. He decided to head over to the springs and get it over with.

When he reached the springs, he closed his eyes and thought of Litara. He pulled his erection out and began to stroke it slowly. His thumb rubbed the tip and spread the little drop of precum around. He thought of Litara pinning him to the ground, and started stroking faster. He thought of her tongue on his and her body writhing on top of him. He stroked faster and faster. With her in his mind it wasn’t long before he was groaning her name and cumming into his hand. He gasped and breathed heavily for a few moments, before jumping into the spring fully clothed. He relaxed in the water and let it clean him off. After a while of soaking he got out, shook himself off and began to walk slowly back to camp.
