Out in the open

Reviewers - adult fanfic people = I love you guys! <3 thanks for a great responds to
this story. I will write another after I end this. And that one will be better. Like all
writers I needed some practice. This is my first fanfic after all...

Disclaimer: Don’t own InuYasha. But this story - which I’ll end soon.

Chapter nineteen, out in the open.

Kagome stood inside the old Victorian mansion that belonged to the man who held
the key to her freedom. The vicious Mr. Yung, thank Kami, wasn’t there but in his
winter house, as mentioned earlier. The servants hadn’t wanted to let Kagome and
Sango enter that morning, but after some persuasion and some cash... they had let
her come in to retrieve some clothes.

It had started early that day, her day. It was a good morning. The sun shined as the
spring was clearly stepping over King winter with her green escape and warm
mornings. InuYasha had already been up an whole hour, before Kagome awoke. And
it was something nice that welcomed her, breakfast in bed. How that man was full of
surprises and loved to care for her, made her whole being tingle.

Clearly he loved her, he must. Why else would he do this for her? She knew perfectly
well that they didn’t know each other, as a couple should before announcing their
most inner feelings. But dear Kami - haven’t people heard of ‘love at first sight?’ Of
course she could love him. And that she did, with all her heart.

Slowly but surely the thick black cloud Mr. Yung had covered her world with
disappeared and uncovered the little girl who was buried beneath - now a woman.
The fire once again blazed her gaze when things didn’t go as planed, and she knew
what she was feeling. No games, no stupid dreams - just reality and being herself.

So here she was, walking briskly up the long white staircase. Her best friend in tow
on a mission to get her belongings back. Most of it was bought for her by Mr. Yung
but it was all she had. When Genteken gave her more hours, Kagome swore she’d
buy more clothes with her own money and slowly replace her wardrobe.

Pulling down the handle that let to the bedroom she’d been sleeping in for over ten
years, Sango and herself was greeted by....emptiness..

“That...bastard!” Sango exclaimed, marching into the room - darting a dark eye
around the empty surrounding. Kagome just stood gapping in the doorway.
Everything was gone. Even the damn bed! Standing there looking around with a
confused gaze which soon turned into a scowl.. Kagome let out a snorting sound.
“Well all for the better, I didn’t want that evils spawn items anyway.”

Sango turned to face her friend. Kagome looked so determined and not at all like the
frightened girl she had gotten to know over the years. It made her smile, knowing
that InuYasha must have broken past the thick blackness. Of course, she had been
shocked to find out everything that had happened to her friend, but more so happy
that InuYasha seemed to protect her with his life. He really did care, so her initial
hunch about the hanyou’s intentions were correct.

And all for the better, Kagome damn deserved the best - after all she’d been
through.

“Come, let’s go shopping” Sango offered, leading the narrowed eye girl out of the
room and down the stairs they just had walked up. Kagome started to protest, “no
Sango I can’t take your money.” But the girl that held her hand in a vise grip
wouldn’t budge. “Oh hush, just let someone take care of you for a change.”

With that Kagome snapped her lips shut. She wanted to chide her friend for this, but
knew it wouldn’t lead anywhere. So she allowed Sango to place her into small car
and climbed into the drivers seat, smirking. “What’s so funny?” Kagome huffed,
clearly unhappy with the whole fact that her friend was winning. Sango snickered
before starting the car, “we’re going to victoria’s secret.”

“Wha-a-aat?” Kagome sputtered, trying to fight down the blush that crept up on her
cheeks. But like always she was helpless to the blush - knowing just well what Sango
wanted her to buy.

“Yes, and we’re not going there for cotton undies! So you better buy something darn
sexy. You hear me?” Sango turned up the volume on her car radio before Kagome
could answer. Kagome would have her man crawling on all fours, when Sango was
done with her.

Entering the mall, the girls went straight to work. Well one of them at least, Sango
dragged Kagome with her into every store. Buying Tee’s, a few pairs of jeans, nice
black ones for special occasions and blouses. Also shoes! A girl’s wardrobe wasn’t
complete without a pair of nice high heel boots and more walk-able ones. Buying a
pair of sneakers for her job, Kagome could just sit down and try them on. Sango was
such a hard-head, she wanted to protest but knew it wouldn’t work.

Sighing deep, Kagome allowed Sango to drag her into the store they’d came there
for. Everywhere were shelves, hangers and whatnots with sexy women lingerie -
some things made Kagome blush all the way to the roots of her dark hair. And Sango
snicker softly at her friends clear embarrassment.

“It’s not that bad, you know. I come here often” Sango chirped, dragging kagome
with her in between laced thongs and bras. “What you mean you come here often?
Oh, wait don’t answer that.” Kagome groaned, knowing Miroku probably loved this
store more then Sango did. She, herself were just blushing more and more as Sango
knew what to buy. There was no way she’d wear anything like this, no way!

Sango squealed and stopped, holding up a thin almost see-through top that had small
pearls that appeared like small twinkling stars on black material. “Keep that away
from me.” Kagome threatened, backing up as Sango clearly wanted her to try it on.
“Aw come on Kagome, you know you want it.” The black haired girl blushed deeper,
“n-no, k-keep away” she tried again, weaker in her speech. The garment was nice,
she gave it that. But Kami, it would take a woman with confidence to wear
something like that into the bedroom.

Before she knew it, Sango had her hand in a vise grip again dragging a almost kicking
Kagome into the changing room.

Around twenty minutes later, a still deep red Kagome and a singing Sango emerged
from the store. The purchase had been made, now what they needed was some food.
Kagome glanced on her small watch strapped over her arm, it read elven am. “Wow
it’s still pretty early,” she said. The previous event now almost forgotten. “Hm, how
about some Tea and then we go to InuYasha again?”

Kagome nodded, she couldn’t believe it, but she was really missing the man - even
though she’d seen him around three hours ago.

At InuYasha’s house, everything went quiet smooth. Sesshoumaru had showed up as
promised. Walking into the house, with his mate - which Sorano seemed to love.
Taking a moment only to talk briefly about what had happened the night before,
InuYasha and Sesshoumaru walked into the garage.

Sorano had taken it upon herself to give Rin the ‘grand tour’ of the house. And her
room and play box - which could take hours. The little eight-year-old had way to
many toys.

Inside the car-building Sesshoumaru sniffed, and noticed his brother hadn’t lied.
There was a scent that reeked half-demon. But it was odd for him, because the scent
was familiar. Where had he encountered it before? He grumbled on that while he
searched the premises.

Black magic had been used, the tingle of something forbidden hung in the air. But
how could a hanyou use magic? He’d never heard of anything like that before.
Rounding the car, Sesshoumaru stopped. The scent was much stronger here,
something wasn’t right.

Kneeling down his sharp hearing caught a small beeping sound. Narrowed golden eyes
scanned the vehicle while running a clawed hand against its smooth surface. Once
again the sound was made, where did it come from?

InuYasha noticed his brother’s behavior and stopped his movement. Dropping the
conceal spell, InuYasha perked his white ears. “Something’s beeping.” He whispered,
only the silenced by his brothers hand held up in a ‘be quiet’ gesture.

Sniffing the air, slightly Sesshoumaru froze. “I’ll buy you a new one.” He apologized
to a confused hanyou before calling his poison claws. Melting the hard metal down to
a puddle, InuYasha could only stare at what was once his car!

“Fucking asshole!” He roared, jerking his head up to scowl at his brother.

“Don’t be so hasty little brother, look” Sesshoumaru motioned at the puddle of
burned ruby-red metal. On the edge where the front right tire once could be
located, a small device laid.

“What the hell?” InuYasha kneeled down, but didn’t reach out to touch the black box
that almost appeared as a spider. “A bomb.” His brother said, some concern laced his
usually cold voice. “A WHAT?” InuYasha yelled, pushing himself up and back.

“It was wired to your car, if I didn’t do what I just did...” Sesshoumaru didn’t finish
his line knowing that his brother got the message.

InuYasha’s face went pale. His eyes turning red, someone wanted to kill his family,
and himself! A firm hand on his shoulder, brought him back to reality where his
brother stood hovering over him.

“InuYasha, tell me everything.”

The hanyou nodded, sucking in a deep breath.

Moving into the house, the two brothers just came through the door when the front-door bell rang. Sorano squealed and came running, making the still shocked hanyou
to glance down the hallway. His daughter opened the door only to fly into the arms
of Kagome.

Kagome looked up from the tight embrace, only to be soon greeted by another - from
InuYasha. “What’s wrong?” She asked, hesitantly. He was shaking, clearly something
had frightened him to death. “Come,” he said instead. Leading his small family into
the living room.

Everything came out in the open. Sesshoumaru’s gaze darkened and his mates grew
more frightened as the story of Mr. Yung and the abuse Kagome had to endure during
her stay there was told.

“As you can see, Kagome needs to get free from that contract.” InuYasha now said,
seating himself next to the raven haired beauty. Sango was present as well, little
Sorano had been excused to go play with her friend who lived next door.

Sesshoumaru nodded, thoughts being processed within. Something wasn’t right - that
foul stench... where had he smelt it before? And how were they going to be able to
get Kagome free from that promise? There had to be a legal way to cut those papers
in two. She had been young, with a brother to support - gripping the first lifesaver
tossed her way.

As he sat there, the demon muttered under his breath. He didn’t like when his
memory played tricks with him. He needed to sort his thoughts, something important
was buried in his mind. Something important.

Rin who had been silent, sat there shivering. Poor Kagome - living with a man like
that and being promised to his son. Horrible. Absently she put her small hand into
her mates, seeking comfort from the horror stories that was revealed.

Sesshoumaru stroke her hand absently, rubbing his forehead with the other.
Forehead...marking...mating....blood...’ his mind started spinning like a wheel,
faster and faster bringing him to something that made his eyes turn bright red.

Standing up, startling the group of adults - he almost snarled. “I knew it.” Red eyes
darted around the room until he found his brother’s amber, hearing the gasp of
Sango as she knew about InuYasha but wasn’t sure that Sesshoumaru also were one
but now was witnessing the demon transformation.

“What is it?” InuYasha inquired, moving around the table so he could stand face to
face with his brother. Gripping his shoulder, Sesshoumaru jerked. “The same bug
that crawled around in your house, was the one who tried to kill my mate.”

InuYasha just started for a moment. How was that possible? What did this mean?
Meeting Sesshoumaru’s still red gaze, he almost smirked as a wicked idea came into
his mind.

“That thing has something coming for him now,” the hanyou snarled with a slightly
amused tone. His demon boiled inside, wanting to break free to initiate the man-hunt. There was no way the brothers would leave this to Totosai, not now.

Sesshoumaru met his brothers primal gaze, mentally agreeing. “I claim the head,” he
growled, calling the beast within his brother to join him. InuYasha let out a loud
howl as his demon broke free from the mental bonds. Somehow, this time - he had
more control over it.

But all the same - InuYasha and Sesshoumaru took of leaving a group of wide eyed
women behind.
