IN THE CLASSROOM (Part 2)

~~~~~~Physical Education, Thursday~~~~~~
Rin’s midsection was feeling much better, especially after taking four pain pills for it, so all she had to do was change in the bathroom stall that day to avoid anyone noticing the large bruise on her ribs. That day in PE, they were starting their fall fitness testing, the first of which would be the shuttle run. Rin was just glad that it wasn’t push-ups or sit-ups because she didn’t think her stomach would like either of those. Watching the other girls perform their shuttle runs, some poorly and some excellently, Rin thought to herself that being alone for several hours doing research with her senior history teacher, who for some reason made her whole body feel hot whenever she looked at him, might not have been the best possible solution to her family problems. It was certainly the most pleasing, a thought that made her blush, but probably not the best solution.
Looking up when they were coming close to her last name, Rin waited for the girl in front of her to begin her run and then watched as she sped down the gym. Looking at the other end, where a similar line of girls was formed to do shuttle runs in the opposite direction, Rin noticed that Yukino Hanazawa was looking at her. She probably suspects. Rin guessed that Yukino was watching to see if Rin ran slower than last year due to a certain injury that no one else could see...that Rin made sure no one else could see—because she changed in the girls’ locker room toilet stall. The girl in front was finished, having scored an average time, and the young, female PE teacher told Rin to step up to the line. Another girl on the other side of the gym had already started her run, and Rin scuffed the bottoms of her tennis shoes on a damp towel next to the starting line to give her more friction. Taking position, Rin waited for the teacher’s whistle.
When it was time to go, Rin kicked off the floor, barreling down the gym. She was surprised to find that her injury was paining her much more than she thought it would. It hurt so badly to run, but Rin couldn’t let it show on her face or slow down. Someone would notice. Reaching the other side of the gym, she smacked her hand down on the opposite line, her sneakers squeaking on the waxed wooden floor. Pushing off again, she ran back the other way, feeling the sting of tears in her eyes due to the pain. No pain, no gain...it was a stupid mantra, but it helped, and Rin reached the other side of the gym, smacking her hand down and sprinting to the other side of the gym again for her last run. Making it to the other side a full second faster than last year, Rin braced her hands on her knees to take in deep breaths while her gym teacher set up the next girl. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll feel better.
~~~~~~Lunchtime, Thursday~~~~~~

Having duly re-applied her make-up after PE, Rin walked slowly and carefully out to her bench, half-expecting her history teacher to be there again, but hoping he wasn’t. Seeing a girl nearby being chased by her boyfriend, giggling and deftly evading the boy’s hands, Rin suddenly felt saddened by the fact that her only companions were three dogs, a housekeeper that she saw two hours in a day, an abusive father...and of course, her teacher. It didn’t seem to be enough...but Rin had steeled herself for this feeling. Telling herself that it was best if she didn’t make any lasting attachments to this place, she’d be free to leave this town and her home without any regrets.

Rin’s hopes of finding an empty bench were dashed when she found Mr. Hakkaku sitting to one side, looking at a book with his jacket draped over his lap. Rin wondered why he came there, considering their two previous encounters at this spot. He could hear her shoes in the grass and looked up, a smile on his face. Rin’s heart beat painfully. It was the first time she had seen him smile like that, and it made every charming angle of his face that much more endearing.

"Good afternoon, Rin. How are your ribs feeling today?" he asked, patting the bench next to him. Rin felt incredibly embarrassed, on top of which she now felt self-conscious since he had asked about her health. Awkwardly walking over, Rin sat down, not too close but not very far, either. She set her book-bag on the ground, too nervous to eat at the moment. Why am I so nervous around him? And why doesn’t he do something about it?

"Well, the PE shuttle runs were a little harder because of it, but my ribs feel much better today," Rin said, looking down at her hands. Sesshoumaru watched as her breathing quickened slightly, wondering if he made her nervous. Well, a teacher knowing a family secret would make anyone nervous. She was just as beautiful, though, when she fidgeted and bit down on her lower lip like that. Reaching across, Sesshoumaru took one of Rin’s hands and brought it closer to him, holding it in both of his hands. Rin looked up at him with an uncertain face, and Sesshoumaru was again tempted to kiss her. Her bottom lip was a little swollen and red from her nervous mannerisms, and those eyes of hers were such a deep, rich brown.

"You know that you don’t have to be nervous around me, right? I’m not going to embarrass you about...your home life, at least not if I can help it. And I won’t tell anyone unless the situation becomes more serious." He saw Rin’s shoulders relax a little, but her eyes dropped away. Rin wanted to just snatch her hand back, but she couldn’t. Doesn’t he realize that it’s his looks that make me nervous? All I want to do when we’re alone is touch him... Rin knew very well what happened between guys and girls. She couldn’t help but hear things, and she did watch TV, read books, and see movies. It was all there, and Rin wasn’t ignorant of what she was feeling. She just didn’t want to be feeling it! And yet...wanting him felt so good.

"I’ve always been shy, Mr. Hakkaku. It’s a little awkward for me." His hands felt warm, and Rin once again felt comforted, which seemed to melt away a little bit of the day’s stress. Feeling a book pressed into her hand, Rin looked over and saw the title in big gold letters on the brown background. ‘Urban Legends, Historical Legends, and Everything in Between.’ It was a large hardback, with a stamp on the page edge indicating that it was from Loyola Public Library.

"I thought we might look over this while we ate. It’s a little out of date, but it’s a good start from what I’ve read so far." Sesshoumaru leaned down to open his lunch pail, and Rin held the book a little hesitantly before opening her sack lunch. Share the same book? I’m in hell! That’s it! I’m in hell! Rin set her PB & J on her lap, still holding the book. Sesshoumaru sidled up next to her, which pressed his thigh tightly against hers, and flipped open the cover. Rin set the book down over their thighs, watching as he flipped to the table of contents. "So what do you want to read first?" he asked, gesturing to the chapter titles. Rin looked at the odd titles, actually feeling intrigued. It was a little hard to concentrate, though, since she could smell his cologne from so close. She felt him set his arm on the back of the bench behind her, but managed to not react.

Forcing her mind to work, Rin read the chapter headings to herself. ‘Legend of Sleepy Hollow: an Introduction, Legend of Zelda, Etc., Mythical Creatures and their Legends, Asian Legends: an Overview, European Legends: an Overview, Western Legends: Part 1, Western Legends: Part 2, Western Legends: Part 3, Urban Legends: a Conclusion.’ Pointing at the first part of Western Legends, Rin took a bite of her sandwich as he flipped to the right page. They both read silently next to each other, chewing and turning the page when both were finished. Eight pages into the first part, Rin washed down the last of her sandwich with her milk and set her lunch remains to the side, now thoroughly engulfed in the book.

Sesshoumaru was trying to keep up with her reading pace, finding it hard, but he was glad that she was enjoying the book he had chosen. Right after Rin had left his car that night, he realized that she hadn’t given him her phone number, and so called her father at his office the next morning after looking up the law firm’s phone number. Her father seemed genial enough over the phone—probably glad that the phone call was far from anything to do with a case—but Sesshoumaru was hard put not to say something to indicate his knowledge of Rin’s father’s violent temper. As Rin flipped the page before he was done reading, she seemed to realize her error and made a sort of ‘oops’ noise.

"I’m sorry...were you done reading?" Rin said, flipping back a page. She turned her head to look at him, but was frozen solid when she saw how close their faces were. Her lips were only two inches from his, and the way his eyes widened in surprise made Rin want to fall off the bench into a bottomless pit. She abruptly pulled her head back, blushing brightly, and looked down at the page. Sesshoumaru, seeing the redness in her cheeks as he leaned down to read the last paragraph, barely read it as a new realization sunk in. She’s nervous...because she likes me. Feeling stupid for not seeing it a little earlier so that he could have taken advantage of what had just happened, Sesshoumaru reached down to flip the page, letting Rin read ahead while he thought of what he was going to do now.

What am I talking about?! I can’t...kiss my student. I’ll feel like I’m taking advantage of her while she’s in a delicate situation. If my guess is right, she’s still seventeen, and fooling around with a minor would make me into a felon and get me kicked out of every school in the Loyola area. Sesshoumaru wanted her so badly, though. She liked him, he liked her, and she was so close to being an independent adult that it shouldn’t matter, but Sesshoumaru knew that he was only trying to rationalize this to himself.

"Rin, when is your eighteenth birthday?" he asked, knowing the question was out of the blue. He had to know. Rin’s hand was on the page, ready to flip it again, when he asked the question, and he saw how she fidgeted with the corner.

"Uhm...I turned eighteen four days before school started. Father took me to register to vote that day," Rin added, not sure why she said that. The question had confused her. They were reading about western legends...part 1...when he suddenly asked her a question that had nothing to do with the book. "Why do you ask?"

"Well...it’ll be easier to avoid the permission slip for trips to the public library if you’re over eighteen," Sesshoumaru lied. The lie looked so bald and lonely that Sesshoumaru knew she could see plainly it. Rin seemed satisfied with his answer, though, and flipped the page. Breathing a sigh of relief, Sesshoumaru’s mind went into overdrive. She’s at least of legal age...so...what do I do now? Rin made an excited noise, something Sesshoumaru had never heard before, and he looked down at what she was pointing to. Rin read out loud,

"Many legends have sprung up in the northeastern United States, all rooted to the Salem Witch trials. Many involve haunting, and sound more like ghost stories than legends, but some of these ghost stories are greatly feared by New England residents. In Edwardsville, Massachusetts, local residents have spoken of a pair of twin sisters who were burned at the stake and who still haunt the burn site, which is now the town’s city hall. There are strange noises at all hours of the day, and the janitorial staff has said that they’ve seen lights in rooms that were supposed to be locked. Edwardsville is only an hour away! Do you think we could go there?" Rin asked excitedly, tapping her finger on the page. She turned her head again to look at her teacher, making sure to put at least a foot between their faces.

"You’re a fan of ghost stories, I take it? What sort of research did you want to do then?" Sesshoumaru asked, his eyes dropping to her mouth every once in a while.

"Well, we could do some interviews, take pictures of the inside of the town hall, and maybe even find pictures of the twin girls," Rin said, already thrilled at the prospect of it all.

"Since it sounds like it will be an all-day trip, did you want to take a school day off to do this?" Sesshoumaru hoped she didn’t notice, but his arm was starting to snake around her shoulders. He leaned an inch closer.

"Well...I’ll have to pick a day when we don’t have tests, but since it’s so early in the school year, we could go next Monday. If another day works for you then just...let me...know..." Rin’s voice slowed down as her heartbeat picked up. She was just now noticing that her teacher’s arm was draped around her shoulders and that he was leaning closer to her. Finding it obvious that he was about to kiss her, Rin was so happy but...she panicked. It was still too awkward to be having feelings for him, despite the primary role he was coming to have in her life in so short a time. She put her hand on his shoulder to push him away but he came at her too quickly. His other arm came around her waist, and he pulled her close, jostling the book on their legs and sending it to the ground.

His lips felt so nice. The kiss was gentle and shallow, quite innocent. Rin loved how he held her. His arms were tight, and she clung to him as he explored her lips. They spent several long, breathless minutes holding and tasting each other. Rin shuddered once as a breeze came by, but it was because his tongue had lightly drifted over her bottom lip. They seemed to come to a mutual end, both breathing a little faster. Rin looked up into his eyes. I just made out with my teacher... Though Rin knew it wasn’t as simple as that, it felt like she had done something wrong.

"I...don’t think we should have done that," Rin whispered, gasping softly when he pulled her a little closer. She watched his eyes look down at her mouth, and then roam back up to her own eyes, and she felt captivated by the longing she saw in them.

"Why not?" he whispered back. Rin almost wanted to laugh. Why not?! You’re my teacher! As his arms tightened again, Rin felt a very uncomfortable stab of pain in her midsection and gasped. His arms immediately loosened, and his face went from lustful to apologetic. "I’m sorry, Rin...I forgot." Rin’s grimace went away soon enough, but the mood had been broken.

"Lunch is almost over," Rin said, leaning out of his arms to get the book off of the ground. She stood up and brought her book-bag to her shoulder, clutching her empty lunch sack and the book to her chest. "Will you need me to stay after school? ...For research?" Rin asked, avoiding eye contact and blushing. Sesshoumaru stood up, holding his jacket and lunch pail.

"If anything, we should start writing down interview questions for Edwardsville. But we can do something else, if you want." Sesshoumaru let his last statement remain vague. Rin looked up at him, rubbing her lips together in thought. Can I really do this? Am I that brave?

"Does my face look okay?" she asked, stepping back. Sesshoumaru nodded, knowing she meant ‘can you see my bruises?’ Rin began walking back, and said over her shoulder.

"I’ll see you in class, Mr. Hakkaku."

~~~~~~Last Class, Thursday~~~~~~
Rin, having thought about what had occurred in her life over the last four days, was in turmoil over what to do. If anyone found out about her and her teacher...Rin didn’t want to think about that. But he was so nice to her, he was so handsome, and he liked her as well. I’m eighteen. I can make my own decisions, right? Rin hadn’t felt any more mature the day she turned eighteen. And Mr. Hakkaku...Sesshoumaru...was probably ten years older than her. What would happen if they...actually began that sort of relationship and wanted to marry down the road? Everyone would wonder if Sesshoumaru and she had been seeing each other while she was still in high school. Her brain kept going around in circles until she had a headache.
When it was time for senior advanced history, Rin’s heart was in her throat the entire way to the classroom. She went slowly, stopping at a water fountain, so that other students could beat her there. Stepping into the classroom, Rin saw about eight students already there, and at the desk, watching for when she came in, Sesshoumaru sat. The look he gave her in those two seconds held all the caring, wanting, and lust that Rin had ever seen in any other place. It made her palms itch, and she hurriedly made her way to her seat. When she saw someone leaning over to her, Rin turned her head to look and saw Yukino Hanazawa, whose friends were chatting amongst themselves, waving to get her attention.
"Rin, right? I’m the captain of the track team, Yukino Hanazawa. I was watching you today during the shuttle run. I would have asked you last year, but the last captain...well, I think you’d be a good short distance runner. Like the 100 meter dash? Do you want to try out for the team?" Rin was so stunned that someone had spoken to her that it took a while for her to digest what Yukino had said. Blinking a few times, Rin snapped out of it.
"Uhh...I—I’ll have to think about it." Yukino looked pleased with Rin’s answer.
"Once the season starts, if you make it, you get to skip PE since you’re on the track team. That period is free time." Well, that was certainly a decent perk. Yukino might have said something further, but the bell rang, and Sesshoumaru stood up to start teaching class. Rin took her notes well, but her teacher’s eyes landed on her so much that Rin couldn’t bring her gaze up to him after a while, and she pretended that she was writing something important down. I still need to make up my mind!
~~~~~~After school, Thursday~~~~~~

Once all the students had left the classroom, including Yukino, who gave Rin a small note on when pre-tryout practices were, Rin gathered up her things into her book-bag and came to the front of the class.

"What did Miss Hanazawa want?" Sesshoumaru asked, curious about Rin’s sudden interaction with another student. Though Rin didn’t know it, her teacher watched her more than she knew. He only taught four classes, and there were 8 periods in the school day. He did grade assignments and work on his lectures for two of them, but his other two free periods were spent checking up on Rin. Peering in through the gym doors before lunch, he watched her while she sprinted the shuttle run. And walking by the open art room door the period after lunch, Sesshoumaru watched Rin as she molded clay into a sculpture. He never saw her speaking with anyone, nor did he see her smile.

"She wanted to know if I would to try out for the track team," Rin said shyly. It was flattering that the captain of the team had asked her. Sesshoumaru smiled, picking up his jacket and briefcase.

"Well, that’s certainly good to hear. Are you going to do it?"

"I don’t know. I...should ask my father first. He likes to know about things like that before I do them." The tension in the room tightened upon the mention of Rin’s father, but Sesshoumaru was determined not to react. Walking her to the classroom door, he locked the door behind them.

"Do you still have the book with you? We can photocopy the more relevant pages to start compiling our research," he suggested. They walked down to the first floor, past some dawdling students who were still talking near their lockers.

"Yeah, it’s in my bag. I guess we’ll do that, make some interview questions, and then call it a day?" Rin asked, knowing that all of that wouldn’t take too long. In the library, Rin got some change from the librarian, and they photocopied about twenty pages from the book. Then finding a table on the second floor of the library, which acted like a balcony around the first floor, the two sat across from each other, feeling distant as they worked. Rin didn’t want to push him away, but she found herself doing it anyway. It only took them twenty minutes to compile their interview criteria and questions.

"Okay, so that’s about five minutes worth of questioning and answering, so...after that, the person we’re talking to might have lost interest, but we can always ask more questions if they look like they’ve got time," Sesshoumaru concluded, closing his notepad. Leaning down to the floor to pack his things into his briefcase, he saw Rin get up from the corner of his eye, but assumed she was standing up to leave. After shutting his briefcase, he looked up to see Rin peering at him from behind a shelf a few feet beyond the table. Her blush was tremendously red, and her long braid of hair was draped over her shoulder. She then disappeared behind the shelf, and Sesshoumaru had a good guess as to what she was about. Looking around, he only saw two younger students on the first floor, talking to the librarian, and the shelf Rin was hiding behind was too far for anyone on the first floor to be able to see.

Standing up and leaving his jacket and briefcase on the table where Rin had left her book-bag, Sesshoumaru followed her behind the bookshelf, finding her scuffing her shoes on the carpet and absently touching the book bindings. Upon seeing him, Rin’s hand fell to her side, and they stared at each other for a few seconds in hesitation.

"Would you mind if I called you Sesshoumaru?" Rin whispered, letting him step to within a foot of her. She tilted her head back to keep eye contact. Sesshoumaru could feel his skin heating up from what her actions and words implied.

"I would prefer it...Rin," he roughly whispered, leaning down. Rin wrapped her arms around his shoulders, lifting herself a little higher as he brought his arms around her waist. Rin opened her mouth and let him inside, sighing as he rubbed his tongue against hers repeatedly. His arms pulled her close, not too tight, with his hands splayed against her sides. They kissed for a few long, hot minutes, not moving anything but their lips and tongues. Sesshoumaru was hard for her, but didn’t let his body’s needs cloud his mind’s thoughts...at least not today. He concentrated on pleasuring Rin, on kissing her. Rin felt dizzy and happy, knowing that a man cared for her and desired her. She loved the way he kissed her, and the warmth and wetness of his mouth only made her more light-headed.

Pulling away from the kiss, Sesshoumaru leaned back only a few inches. Rin felt him move his hand from her side to her stomach, and looked into his hazel eyes as it traveled up to hold her right breast. Rin gasped lightly, but didn’t make him stop. She wanted him to touch her, to touch as much as he could. Seeing that Rin didn’t mind his roaming hand, Sesshoumaru pressed and massaged her breast, rubbing his palm over it until he could feel her peak reacting to him underneath her school shirt. He watched Rin’s reaction as he aroused her, finding that watching her eyes glaze over and darken was enough to get him excited.

"Mr. Hakkaku?" the librarian called from her desk on the first floor. Sesshoumaru’s hand paused and Rin gasped. Sesshoumaru called down to the librarian from where he stood, and resumed his massage of Rin’s chest. Rin blushed brightly over the fact that he was still feeling her up while having a conversation with the librarian. "I’ll be closing up in about five minutes, so you and your student might want to finish up your work soon, okay?" Rin knew what the librarian meant, but it sounded as if she meant they should finish their make-out session soon. Sesshoumaru called down a reply and then turned his face back to Rin’s, smiling at the tint on her cheeks.

"Do you want to get some dinner before I take you home?" he whispered, lightly pinching the tip of her breast through the cloth. Rin found his hand much too distracting and only pressed a kiss to the side of his mouth. His other hand slipped underneath her shirt and slid between her skin and her bra. "We’ll have dinner...somewhere," Sesshoumaru sighed, loving the feel of her bare breast in his hand. His first hand smoothed down her side to hold her rear end, which got another gasp out of Rin.

"We—we should stop then...Sesshoumaru," Rin whispered, pulling on the wrist attached to the hand underneath her shirt. Sesshoumaru got the message and removed his hand, letting Rin adjust her bra. They stood apart for a few seconds, catching their breath and looking at each other. Slowly meandering back to the table, they picked up their things and walked downstairs to the first floor, staying at least three feet apart for the librarian’s benefit. The librarian bid them goodnight as they left, and they were driving out of the parking lot a few minutes later. They stopped at the drive-through of a local burger joint, picking up a fast dinner. Conversation was easier this time. They discussed Rin’s possible new spot on the track team and when they might go to Edwardsville. Deciding on Monday, Rin made a mental note to tell her other teachers that she would be gone that day, and Sesshoumaru made a similar note to get a substitute. Parking just out of sight of her house, Rin held the sack containing her dinner and the strap to her book-bag.

"So I guess I’ll see you at lunch tomorrow?" Rin asked, putting her hand on the door handle. Sesshoumaru nodded, leaning over to her. Pulling her chin to him, he landed a short kiss on her lips before leaning back again. Rin gave him a small smile and opened the car door. She walked up the driveway and into her house, and Sesshoumaru pulled away.

Walking inside, Rin patted her dogs in greeting before they ran up the stairs to her room to wait for her, and Rin searched around the house for her father, finding him asleep in front of the television. Turning off the TV and the light, she made her way upstairs. It was only around 6:30, which made Rin wonder how tired her father really was. Inside her room, Rin looked at herself in her mirror over her dresser, trying to see if she changed at all. All Rin saw was that her make-up was fading, and two greenish spots shaped like the flat of a man’s hand were underneath.

~~~~~~Breakfast, Friday~~~~~~
Her father, having slept long but in an awkward position, was rested but stiff. He was in an otherwise good mood, though. Rin felt it to be the best time to tell him about Yukino Hanazawa, and the track team. Over French toast, courtesy of Miss Yaki, Rin’s father was very supportive of the idea, finding that his daughter’s entrance into a good college would be easier if "track team" were on the application. Although it wasn’t the reaction Rin expected, she was just glad that her father was going to let her try out for the team, and they fell silent for the rest of the meal.
~~~~~~Lunchtime, Friday~~~~~~

Rin hadn’t needed as much concealer today, which meant that her bruises were another couple of days from being gone. She didn’t stop to think, though, of what usually happened once she was healed. Walking quickly out to the bench, Rin smiled when she saw Sesshoumaru sitting there, waiting for her. Sesshoumaru returned the smile, putting his arm on the back of the bench. So she can smile like that. Rin sat down, setting her book-bag on the grass.

"You’re in a good mood, today," Sesshoumaru commented, leaning closer to her to smell the perfume she had applied after PE.

"My bruises are almost gone, and father was asleep when I got home so...no problems there," Rin reported. "And...well, since the library, I’ve been feeling happier lately." The last part was harder to say, coming out as a whisper, but Rin was proud of herself for telling him. She could only think of kissing him again, but they were much more vulnerable out here—even their first kiss yesterday on this bench could have proven disastrous if anyone else had found this spot. Leaning down, Rin pulled her sack lunch out of her book-bag.

"I’m glad to hear that." Sesshoumaru wanted so badly to touch her again, but this was neither the time nor the place to have a long, heated session with her. If I can only touch a little of her... Sesshoumaru, having lost his appetite for food and gained an appetite for Rin, pulled the legends book out of his briefcase and sat close to her. They read as they had yesterday, turning the pages when both were done, and Rin finished her sandwich and milk fairly quickly, tossing the remains into the paper sack. They put a dog-ear on some pages to copy later, and finished the first part of Western Legends with ten minutes to spare.

"It’s too bad that the rest of the cities he mentioned were so far away, or else it might be fun to go track some of these down to go further in depth," Rin commented, stuffing the paper sack into her book-bag. While Rin was leaned over, Sesshoumaru let his arm fall behind her so that when she leaned back, he curled his arm around her torso and pulled her against his side. Rin’s soft intake of breath showed her surprise, and she looked up at him with those wide, beautiful brown eyes.

"Wh—what if someone sees us?" Rin asked, setting her hand on his closest knee.

"I think people know by now not to disturb your lunch area...the freshmen all have to stay in the cafeteria their first year, right? No off-campus lunches?" Sesshoumaru said. It was logical, but Rin wanted to be extra cautious. He smells so good, though. Looking around and listening for footsteps or voices, she could only hear the ones from far away where people ate in the grassy area close to the school. This bench had no sort of path leading up to it...Rin had accidentally found it a couple of weeks into her sophomore year and it looked to have been overgrown by weeds, forgotten by the gardening staff. She was the one who cleaned it up.

"Yes, that’s true..." Rin whispered, squeezing his knee. The arm around her reached up to firmly grasp her breast, and Rin’s breathing increased tempo rapidly as he pulled her closest leg to lay across his thighs. Setting his hand on her knee, Sesshoumaru slowly smoothed his palm down the inside of her thigh.

"Is this okay? Can I go further?" he asked, bringing his lips close to her mouth and half-shutting his eyes. Rin wrapped her arm around his shoulder, setting her other hand over the one holding her breast.

"Y—yes...you can go a little further," she gasped out, already feeling herself grow warm and heavy. Sesshoumaru pressed an open-mouthed kiss upon her as his hand ventured beneath her skirt. Brushing the pads of his fingers up along the outside of Rin’s panties, he was surprised to find the cloth already a little damp. Rin made a small noise due to surprise at the physical contact, but he continued to brush his fingers against her, squeezing her breast once in a while and playing with her tongue. After a little while, Rin’s leg twitched every so often, and her stomach muscles clenched. Just as Sesshoumaru was about to outright rub his fingers over her, they faintly heard the lunch bell, signaling that they had five minutes left. Rin groaned in frustration, but after a few lingering kisses, Sesshoumaru removed his hand from between her legs, silently promising her...and himself...that he wouldn’t stop the next time there was an open opportunity. The two parted, returning to the school separately. Rin blushed randomly throughout the rest of her day, especially during the last period, as thoughts of their five minutes of intimacy during lunch popped into her head.

~~~~~~After School, Friday~~~~~~
"How does your father feel about you going out on weekends?" Sesshoumaru asked as they stood next to each other in front of the copier, waiting for it to print out double copies. Feeding another quarter in, Rin adjusted the book and closed the lid, pushing the green button again.
"I haven’t really gone out that much, to tell the truth. The housekeeper, Miss Yaki, sometimes took me to the mall on Saturdays, but after that...I haven’t really...I didn’t really know anyone to..."
"It’s okay...I want to take you to see a movie tonight or tomorrow night, if you think you’re up for it," Sesshoumaru softly asked, watching her shyly smile down at the copier.
"Like a date?" she whispered, knowing that the librarian was shelving books somewhere. Sesshoumaru stepped a little closer, watching as Rin adjusted the book again.
"Yeah. I want to ask you out on a date. Don’t you want to go out?" Sesshoumaru loved to make her blush and squirm, knowing that she liked it.
"Well, yeah...I don’t know how father will react if I told him I was going out on a date. But...maybe if I tell him during dinner. He’s usually in an okay mood during dinner," Rin said, gathering up the photocopies and shutting the lid on the copier. They walked to a table nearby, using it to separate the copies into two piles.
"You’ll call me then? Let me know how he takes it. There’s a good movie on at seven-fifteen at the Clark Theaters over in Augusta. It’s only a twenty-minute drive." Rin nodded, putting her pile of copies into a folder and sliding the folder into her bag. Sesshoumaru handed her a small piece of paper with his number on it, and Rin half-smiled, biting down on her lip.
"I’ll call right after dinner." Slipping the number into a pocket on her book-bag and zipping it shut, she hefted it onto her shoulder.
"Ready to go?" he asked, picking up his briefcase and flipping his jacket over his shoulder. He’s just so...charming, Rin thought to herself as she glanced at his seductive pose. She nodded, walking alongside him out the door. The librarian from somewhere called a good-bye, startling Rin, but Sesshoumaru gently pushed her out the door with a hand on the small of her back.
On their way to Rin’s house in his car, Rin realized that she didn’t know hardly anything about Sesshoumaru. I guess my mind has been busy with other things. Feeling bad for neglecting that part of their newly made relationship, Rin searched her mind for something to ask.
"Sesshoumaru?" Rin said, prompting him to turn down the radio. Fidgeting with the hem of her skirt, she looked over at him. "How long have you lived in Loyola?"
"I moved here for the job...so only about a month. I still haven’t unpacked half the boxes in my house. It’s the gray one over on Hickory."
"You bought that one? They’ve been trying to sell that house for a year. I used to play with the girl that lived there when I was really little, but she...uhm...she was kidnapped."
"Really? Is the neighborhood dangerous then?"
"Well, her family was at the park on the east end of town and...Miki’s mom took her eyes off of Miki for maybe two minutes. Miki had been playing in the sandbox and her mom went to buy her a soda pop from the vending machines on the edge of the park. There was another little boy there on the swings, and he said that he saw a man come by and pick up Miki. He just walked off with her with his hand over her mouth."
"Did they find her?" Sesshoumaru asked, wondering if Rin had to go through losing a childhood friend in such an abrupt, violent manner.
"Yeah...they found her," Rin whispered. Well, so much for getting to know him. Instead of having a pleasant conversation, she had managed to dig up another touchy subject. Rin thought it was nice, though, that he lived in that house. She had a lot of fond memories there. Sesshoumaru stayed quiet for a little bit, knowing what Rin meant by ‘finding Miki.’ Reaching over the armrest between them, he took a hold of Rin’s hand and squeezed it gently. Rin set her other hand over his, brushing her thumb over his knuckles, and they spent the rest of the car ride in silence.
Arriving at her house, he parked just out of sight of the house again. Rin’s heart thumped inside her chest. They had already kissed several times, and she had even let him put his hands where no one had ever touched her before, but every time he was about to kiss her again, Rin felt like a fever had taken hold of her body. I love how excited he makes me feel. Sesshoumaru put the car into park and turned to her, setting his elbow on the armrest.
He leaned towards her, and Rin set her hand on his forearm, curling her fingers around his arm as she closed her eyes and parted her mouth. He held the side of her face in his hand, thrust his tongue between her lips, and tilted her head back a little. Rin could feel his bangs brushing her forehead lightly, and placed her hand against his chest, feeling his heart beating fast against his ribs. He slanted the kiss over her lips, making them swell and blush. Rin couldn’t help but moan. Her body wanted him badly, so she pushed her tongue into his mouth to play with his tongue. Pulling back abruptly, Sesshoumaru dropped his hand away from her face, breathing hard.
"What’s wrong?" Rin asked, finding that her voice sounded a little huskier. He swallowed and leaned back until he rested against the door.
"It was just a little too much. Call me after you eat dinner, okay?" he said, a little breathless. Rin nodded, smiling a little. I make him excited, too... Stepping out of the car, she jogged up to her front door, and heard Sesshoumaru pull away.
Inside the house, Miss Yaki was putting on her jacket, ready to leave for the day. Rin smiled, which surprised Miss Yaki since Rin rarely smiled when she came home.
"Good afternoon, Miss Yaki. Is father home yet? I couldn’t tell if his car was in the garage," Rin asked, setting her book-bag down near the foot of the stairs.
"Actually, he called here about ten minutes ago. His case with Mr. McKenzey is getting down to the wire so he won’t be home until very late. He asked you to please take out the garbage after you ate, and I’ve already saved his plate in the refrigerator." Rin couldn’t believe her good luck this week. True, Monday started out badly, but since then, things just kept getting better and better.
"Did father say how late? I might want to leave the hallway light on if he’s going to come home after I’ve gone to bed," Rin said. That part was true, but she wanted to know how much time she would be able to have for Sesshoumaru.
"I asked him that, actually, since that food might not hold over for re-heating for too long, he she said he’d be home around 11:00 p.m. at the earliest. But a girl your age is going to stay home on a Friday night?" Miss Yaki asked, draping her purse over her shoulder. Rin noticed how much older Miss Yaki looked right then. When they first hired her after Rin’s mother died, Rin thought she looked around thirty years old, but looking at her now, she seemed to be closer to forty.
"Well...you know how father is..." Rin said quietly, knowing very well that Miss Yaki had seen all of her bruises over the past ten months or so. Miss Yaki nodded, her shoulders sagging a bit.
"Yes, child...I know very well how your father is." Stepping past her to the door, Miss Yaki waved good-bye before stepping outside. Rin heard her pull away in her blue station wagon, and ran in to gobble down a few bites of her meal before tossing the remains, washing the dirty dishes, and hauling the trash bag to the bins outside. Then dashing up the stairs with her book-bag, she petted each of her dogs, who had been waiting for her in her room for a few moments, before picking up her phone to call Sesshoumaru. It had been almost four months since she had last called anyone from this phone, and the dust on the handle was proof of that.
Hearing Sesshoumaru’s voice over the phone, Rin suddenly thought to herself that it sounded very...sexy. Blushing on her end, Rin hurriedly said into the phone,
"Hi, it’s me. Father is going to be at the office late tonight...at least until eleven, so we can go to the movie." Rin twirled the phone cord around her finger, sitting on the chair in front of her desk. Her puppy came over and sat next to her, wagging his tail and looking at her.
"He doesn’t know you’re going out...does he?" Sesshoumaru said. His tone was a little reprimanding, and Rin knew why. If she got caught by a man like her father, protective of his daughter and yet so abusive to her, she would certainly be in trouble. Rin sighed, knowing that it was a big risk.
"I wasn’t sure if I could bring myself to mention a date even if father had shown up at dinner. I just thought that this was a lucky break...and I wanted to be with you." Sesshoumaru’s heart reacted to the note in her voice.
"Well, we’ll go to an earlier show, just to give us a little buffer, I suppose. I feel like a criminal, sneaking around with you," he said. Rin couldn’t read his mood from the sound of his voice, and there was silence for a few seconds. Getting over her shyness, just this once, Rin said,
"I feel like I’m free...when I’m with you." Sesshoumaru, standing next to the wall-phone, leaned his head against that wall and felt his heart warm up. Chuckling into the phone, he said,
"All right. I’ll be there to pick you up in ten minutes." Both hanging up the phone, Rin smiled, happy that she was finally going out with someone besides Miss Yaki, but she was especially thrilled that it was Sesshoumaru whom she was seeing. Changing into a loose red skirt and a white top with spaghetti straps, Rin stepped into her most comfortable pair of sandals and grabbed up her small wallet, which contained the cab fare her father had let her keep. Petting her dogs for another couple of minutes, she shut off the light in her room, quickly made her way downstairs, and picked up the spare set of keys from the drawer in the hallway side-table. Stepping out her front door, she saw Sesshoumaru leaning against the side of his car in her driveway.
He was wearing a gray t-shirt that pulled tight across his pecks and upper arms. His black slacks matched his black hair perfectly, and the smile he wore got Rin’s heart pounding. Sesshoumaru watched as Rin jogged up to him, her breasts bouncing generously, which distracted him for a few seconds. Her shoulders were beautifully shaped and smooth, and for the first time, she bestowed upon him a full smile. I promised you, Rin...and myself...that next time there was an open opportunity, I wouldn’t stop.
