"Yay! Yay!" Shippo shouted as he bounced all over the kitchen. He had grown very much over the past years, he was no longer a child but a teenager. His unruley red hair was kept in a untidy pony tail, and speaking of tails, his now swept the floor when he walked. He looked like a full grown kitsune, but his eyes still held the innocence of childhood. He was as light hearted as ever, he hadnt a care in the world.He still wore his same attire only Kagome had to make him a new one every couple of years because of his rapid growth spurts.
Kagome smiled at him as he rejoyced the news of a visit from his only little sister. Kagome looked just as she always did, well except her new wardrobe, ears, and claws. She no longer wore her clouths from the future but instead replaced them with more suitable clouths for the era she now lived in. When at home she wore a blue kimono with white flowers on it, but when out in the villedge she would wear her priestess attire. Her priestess clouthing was slightly alterd from Kikyos, she had been sure of that. Her bottoms were the same green as her old skirt she used to wear. Inu yasha said the color suited her very well and that he was pleased. Age wise she looked as though she hadnt aged a day, even though all of those around her had. Keade had passed on a couple of years back which was why Kagome had taken over being the villedge priestess . Sango and Miroku had been married and were now busy raising their family. Sango exchanged the life of an exterminator to live the life of a house wife. They had many children, six so far, the oldest was only thirteen years of age. Miroku had become the villedge monk at Sangos villedge. Kohaku was now the villedges top exterminater. Every now and then they would come and visit Kagome and everyone else. Kagome had many fequent visits from their eldest child. She was a strong willed child with the beauty of her mother. Her name was Yuki, and the name fitted her well. She was pale as snow, her hair was black as night. She had heard the stories of her mothers exterminating days and now disired to be just like her. She recently had a birthday and as gifts she recieved her mothers old uniform (which was a little big on her but fit well all the same) and her old boomerang. Kagome had seen the look of gratitude on her face, when she had offerd to give her lessons in the ways of a preistess. Kagome could sense a hidden power withen Yuki, and with the right tutor she could unlock it. She had since been coming to see Kagome as often as she could. She would use Kirara, who was more than willing to help her misstresses child. The first time Kagome saw Yuki approaching on Kirara in Sangos old uniform she felt as though she had seen a ghost. Things had been quite latly, too quite in Kagomes oppinion. It wasnt that she enjoyed being pusued by demons and coming close to death, but she did miss the thrill of the adventure. Having to make camp in the wilds of Japan, never staying in the same place for too long, and the fighting, oh kami the fighting. Ever since she had become a hanyou, her spirit just couldnt rest, she needed a challenge, one to test her strength. She needed the feel of the wind in her hair as she ran through the forest in pursuite of the enemy. She now knew why Inu yasha disliked sleeping indoors. She felt so confined in her house, it was like a cage, a prison that held her, that kept her from being trully free. She new that the wilderness was no place to raise children, even though Shippo was her only child, her and Inu yasha would have some of their own one day wouldnt they? Speaking of the hanyou he was due home any minute now. Kagome was sure that he too would be excited by the up comming visit of his oldest god child. Yes she was sure he would be very pleased to know that Chibi and Sakura were coming to visit, although she wasnt sure how he would take Kouga comming as well. She prayed that his hate for the wolf demon would be lessend from the years apart. Either way, he was now Chibi's father and was coming whether Inu yasha liked it or not.
Kagome continued chopping and cutting the vegitables, while Shippo continued running around the house like a mad man, er, demon. Kagome was so distracted by her work that she hadnt heard the front door open, nor the approaching footsteps. She was slightly surprised when a pair of warm arms wrapped themselves around her from behind. She immediatly recognisised the scent, it was wilder than any demon, yet calmer and more loving than any human, and it was mixed with the scent of fresh pine and sunshine. She sighed as she relaxed in her lovers arms. She continued her chopping and cutting and was a little taken back when she felt his warm breath on her neck. He nuzeld her neck gently as he kept his hold on her. She lay down the knives, and turned around so that she could see him for herself. She gazed into his golden eyes as she inhaled his scent. He returned her gaze for a moment before bringing his lips down to meet hers in a soft compassionate kiss.
" Evening love" he said in a low husky voice. She smiled, she loved it when he vocalized his feelings for her in words. She also loved returning them.
" Evening mate" she said wih a slight curve on her lips as she smiled at him. He returned her smile before giving her one last kiss on the cheek and making his way to the living room. When their house was built, Kagome had insisted that they designed it like a house from her time, she said it was more sturdy and much safer. Inu yasha hadnt argued, he had no problems fullfilling his mates request.
" Hold on lover boy" she called making him stop in midstep. He turned around slowly to face her.
"Yes?" he said questioningly.
" We're having visitors in a few days" She said as she picked up her knives and started her cutting and chopping again. He looked at her before walking over to her again.
" What type of visitors exactly?" he asked. She never even looked at him so he couldnt see whether she was smiling or not.
" Oh just the average teenage kitsune type" She said trying to hide the smile that was across her face.
Inu yasha thought for a second before realization hit him.
" Chibi is coming to visit?" He said. Kagome turned to face him after she had put down the knives and nodded. He quickly swept her up in his arms again and spun her around a few times before setting her down again.
" Thats wonderful news!" he exclaimed as she laughed. Inu yasha could be so cute somtimes, the way he would twirl her like a little girl, and how his smile seemed to make everything all better. It was then that Shippo bounded into the kitchen happy as ever.
" Inu yasha did you hear?!" Shippo said rather quicky. Inu yasha nodded as he ruffeld Shippos hair. Shippo smiled at his adopted parents. He restarted his rejoicing as he chanted ' Chibi's comming Chibi's coming' over and over. But he quickly stopped as Inu yasha gave him a signal to be quite and a serious expression came over his face.
" Someone is outside, Kagome grab your bow" he said with a sort of finality in his tone. As he flung open the door with tetsuiga raised he almost gave the wolf demon standing there a heart attack.
" U-Uh, T-This-s i-is a uh l-letter for, eh hum, I-Inu yasha and K-K-Kagome-e" he said as he shiver and shook. As soon as the letter was plain Iin Inu yashas hand the wolf demon ran away as fast as his shaking legs would carry him.
Inu yasha watched as the figure that was the wolf demon fade away as he fled. Kagome came down the stairs bow in hand but she out it down when she realized there was no real danger. Inu yasha read the letter quickly as his face darkend. Kagome looked at him very concerned.
" What ? Are they not coming?" She said as Inu yasha gave her the letter. As Kagome read it her breath caught in her throat as her eyes filled with tears. Now Shippo was worried, he glanced at Inu yasha silently asking for an explanation.
" Its Chibi" he said as he returned Shippos gaze. "Shes been kid napped".
