Chapter Two
Fair Warning: There is swearing in this chapter.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kagome uses a slight smile to cover her irritation, she can feel the eyes on her but is unaware of who is the watcher, "So what shall we have for lunch?" She asks pleasantly but there is a very slight edge hidden within her words because she wasn't able to hide her annoyance entirely. There was a few minutes of quiet contemplation before Asako speaks up, "Didn't that noodle place you like open one of the stalls here Kagome?" Kagome smiles lightly, "Last I heard." they continue forward Kagome slightly ahead of her mother by a half step not that it was obvious to anyone else but it was enough so when a pair of roughhousing teenage boys nearly rammed into them Kagome was quick to release her mother's elbow and step forward enough to shove them off their original course which would have included crashing into the two of them. Both boys stop and give her a nasty look, "What the fuck bitch?" And it was then that they made their mistake. From Inuyasha Kagome had tolerated being called a bitch, with him it was not being entirely degrading because in a round about way it was a complement due to the fact that he saw her not as a human but as a female inuyoukai... but these boys were just trying to be insulting.
Kagome gives them a grin that she was certain meant she was baring her teeth at them inuyasha style, "Watch where you're going next time." She speaks at normal volume but the tone was cold enough to freeze them both in place. Tea and Yugi watch the altercation with widened eyes, Tea because she'd never seen Kagome like this and Yugi because... that echo of the thought he had had before about her truely being someone like Atem was sounding off again, she sounded like nobility speaking down to someone below her. Asako stands silently letting Kagome deal with it because it would do no good to get involved at the moment. One of the boys felt a little guilty and it showed by his downcast eyes but the other... well he glared at her, "Make me bitch." The way Kagome squared her shoulders alerted Asako that her daughter was about to make trouble, and that was only increased when Kagome's stubborn chin came up, but before she could say anything... Kagome steps forward grabbing the punk by the front of his t-shirt and pulling him off balance the menace in her eyes was making the boy's tongue glue itself to the top of his mouth. She pulls him up towards her then narrows her eyes, "Mind your tongue punk. You really don't want to walk around insulting women you do not know, you never know when one of them might decide to remove from you that which you prize most in this world."
It is Yugi who breaks out of his shock first, he knew he needed to stop this before it escillated further. He sets down the two bags he had been carrying in his left hand and steps up behind Kagome, taking a deep breath he risks snaking his arms around her waist and tugging her back a step, "Kagome-chan..." he speaks lowly risking to use the familiar term even though they had barely met an hour ago, "You don't want to dirty your hands do you? Lets go get lunch." He was half expecting her to turn on him for being so bold but he needed to try. Asako's eyes widen slightly as do Tea's, neither female having thought that Yugi would do something like this. Kagome is startled by the sudden arms around her waist and the low voice in her ear, startled enough to push the boy back releasing his shirt and sending him onto his butt. "Get out of here punk. Go to school where you belong." The meeker of the two boys quickly helps his friend to his feet before pulling him to get away from the volatile woman as fast as humanly possible. Kagome takes several deep breaths trying to calm her temper, it was then that she realized that it was Motou-san that had stopped her and has to fight the rising heat in her cheeks because well she just suddenly became aware of his body fitting against her back. Tea and Asako share a look before Tea smirks faintly recognizing the gleam of a matchmaker in the elder Higurashi's eyes.
Tea nods once silently communicating with Asako as she picks up the two bags and both women subtly edge away from Kagome and Yugi, heading towards the stall that they had been discussing and leaving the two to sort themselves out. For several long heartbeats Yugi was somewhat frozen, surprise that she hadn't erupted on him warring with the surprise pleasure of holding the curvy miko in his arms. After a moment or two Kagome had gotten herself back under control and she coughs, "Yugi-san... you can release me now..." her voice was slightly husky, she wasn't one for PDAs really but at the same time it was rather nice to be held too. Yugi nods lightly, "As you wish Kagome-san." He speaks almost into her ear as he squeezes her one last time and then slowy steps back. Kagome is blushing faintly at the hug, "Thank you for trying to keep me out of trouble... my temper still gets the best of me some times..." She says softly as she turns to face Yugi then blinks when he lets out a chuckle, "It was my pleasure." his lips curve into a half smirk and though he's not aware of it if he'd been looking in a mirror right then he really would have looked a lot like Atem. Kagome gives him an amused half playful smile, "I'm sure it was." She couldn't help but tease then blink and look around when she realizes they were for all intents and purposes ditched by Tea and her mother.
Yugi notices the wandering eyes and gives a smile, "Maybe we should find the other two?" He suggests, not because he minded being alone with Kagome but because she was clearly already looking for them at least visually. Kagome nods and scans signs before pointing, "We should start there since it was mentioned." She places a hand over her stomach as it lets out a muted rumble and Yugi chuckles before reaching down and taking her hand a faint blush on his cheeks because despite being an adult now it didn't change the boyish shyness he felt around pretty women. He leads as they walk in that direction, Kagome is blushing faintly but then twists her hand slightly and bites her inner lip before lacing her fingers through his so they were palm to palm. Yugi notices and gives her hand a light squeeze as they approach the stall spotting Asako and Tea already sitting at a table near it. Tea spots the joined hands and subtly taps Asako's leg under the table and tilts her head slightly towards the pair approaching. Asako glances over and the smile that forms speaks of her obvious happiness. Yugi pulls her to a stop before they approach the table and Kagome looks at him questioningly, he gives her hand another gentle squeeze, "I was just wanting to let you know that I'll be there tommarrow, Hojo-san didn't want to accompany Tea to it so she asked me to go with her. My other two friends Joey and Tristan will be there too, so in case you were nervous about it.. we'll be there ok?"
Kagome gives him a bright smile, "Thanks... I still don't know if the reveal is a good thing, I don't want the shrine being swarmed with people that are only there to bother me." Yugi nods and turns to face her, their hands staying linked, his free hand coming up to touch her cheek lightly, "I'd be worried about that too. It would likely be worse for you because you're you as it is. I wouldn't tell anyone your last name, it will make it harder for them to track you down." Kagome crunches her brow lightly, "Me being me? What does that mean?" Yugi flusters lightly, he hadn't meant to say that now he was in for a penny... might as well go in for a pound, "You're beautiful Kagome... I would have thought you already knew that." The compliement given in such a straight forward though soft spoken way makes Kagome blush again, then she realizes he had dropped the suffix and she couldn't find it in her to mind too much, "Maybe we should join them Yugi?" She decided to drop the suffix as well and Yugi notices it but doesn't mind at all, his name sounded different coming from her lips in a nice sort of way, and he nods before they start walking again.
At the table Asako and Tea are practically bubbling with excitement, both matchmaking hearts pounding a merry tune as the pair come to the table. Yugi only then releases Kagome's hand letting her take a seat before he speaks up, "If everyone knows what they want I will go ahead up and order." Kagome is still blushing faintly when she takes the seat he had stopped her next to, "Udon please Yugi." Both immediately notice the lack of suffix and have to stop the shriek of joy from escaping, Asako looks up at the menu then shrugs, "Udon for me as well Yugi-kun." Tea is studying the menu, "Beef teriyaki and rice sounds good." Yugi nods then heads up to order for the four of them. After he is out of earshot Tea can't hold the question in, "Kagome-chan why are you so red?" Kagome sputters a bit, "It's nothing really." Neither woman buy that but can't pester her too much about it, they don't want to undo the groundwork Yugi had already gained though both are very curious how in such a short time he had infact gained said ground. Asako while curious couldn't be happier that someone, a male someone at that, had finally gotten through her daughter's shields or at least was making some headway with getting through so she really doesn't want to mess that up.
"Tea-chan you said you were here to shop for something earlier yes?" Asako changes the subject much to Kagome's relief, Tea nods, "My boyfriend's birthday is coming up. I asked Yugi to help me pick something out for him." Kagome taps her fingers off the table, "You could check out the bookshop Tea-chan. He's studying to be a doctor after all so even if they were books on natural remedies I bet he would like adding them to his collection." Tea thinks about that her brows crunching together, "You think I should give him books? I don't want it to seem like I'm making fun of his passion." Kagome reaches out poking Tea's nose, "By giving him a gift that nods to his passion you aren't making fun you're being supportive." Tea crosses her eyes looking at Kagome's fingertip but then sighs and slowly nods, "Well I suppose it can't hurt to look." Kagome nods and pulls her hand back, "It never hurts to look into something and it's ok to be nervous but I don't think you have to worry too much, Hojo-san is very much in love with you so he'd like anything you gave him." Tea blushes some and nods glad to have a starting point. It doesn't take long for Yugi to come back balancing the four food boxes, the chopsticks in his hand.
Kagome reaches up taking her Udon, shivering lightly when a small zap of electricity skitters down her spine from her hand caressing his though it had been accidental. He offers a smile then takes and hands Asako her Udon and Tea her Teriyaki and rice before sitting down in the remaining chair and doling out chopsticks. Kagome lifts her napkin to unfold it and place it on her lap when she notices a slip of paper flutter from it, she reaches down picking the paper up off the floor and glances at it. A faint blush stains her cheeks once more before she folds the paper and puts it in her pocket, she had to give Yugi points for subtly and creativity she didn't know anyone else who would sneak someone a number without being obvious. Tea takes a bite of her rice before speaking up, "Oh Yugi we were talking while you were up getting food, Kagome-chan thinks I should give Hojo-kun books for his birthday." Yugi tilts his head slightly, "Books?" "Mhm. She thinks it would be nice to find him some books on natural healing and remedies to add to his collection." Tea confirms since Kagome is eagerly digging into her Udon and thus not really paying much attention to the converstation at hand though the way her eyes keep dancing around every so often it was evident she was still keeping an eye out for trouble.
Yugi brings a bit of his pork fried rice to his lips as he thinks about it, after he swallows he nods, "That does sound like a good place to start if you are somewhat familiar with his collection" Tea nods slowly, "I don't have it memorized but I would definately recognize by sight the books he already has." Yugi nods and goes to take another bite and has to stop hiself from visibly startling when he feels a something nudge his ankle, it was gentle and he subtly glances in Kagome's direction because he was pretty sure it was her that had nudged him though she doesn't seem to be paying attention. Kagome decided to be bold, her foot hooking around Yugi's ankle which put their shins pretty close together. Her cheeks have the faintest of blushes dusting them which lets Yugi now he wasn't imagining things a similiar faint blush staining his own cheeks but fortunately for the pair of them neither of the matchmaking women with them noticed it. After that lunch is a fairly quiet affair, Yugi not moving his foot more then just enough to bring it back a little so the instep of his foot was aligned with Kagome's. He was glad he came with Tea today after all or he wouldn't have met Kagome the way he did. What neither of them were aware of was that Asako wasn't as blind to their subtle subconcious flirting and that she's feeling a great deal of relief at the fact that Kagome seems to be connecting with Yugi.
As lunch wraps up the duo almost reluctantly untangle their legs, both had enjoyed the quiet comfort of the touch even if neither said anything about it. Yugi pushes back from the table and piles the trash together quickly so it could be dumped easier, "Well I guess we will see you tommarrow Kagome?" Kagome pushes back too and nods, "Yes the signing starts at 11 but I have to be there earlier." Yugi nods then addresses Tea, "We probably should get their early too. People will start hanging around long before the signing starts and unless you want to get swarmed...." Tea nods, "What time are you planning to arrive Kagome-chan?" Kagome rubs her fingers together idly, "Probably sometime between 9:30 and 10." Tea thinks then slaps her hand off the table, "I've got it! Why don't Yugi and I pick you up and take you in? That way you have a ride and we will be there plenty early enough not to get caught in the tidal wave?" Kagome blinks then looks to Yugi who shrugs, "I don't mind picking you up and giving you a lift home. It's a good way to keep persistant fans from finding your shrine too quickly as well." Kagome gives a slightly crooked smile, "Thanks Yugi. I'll see you in the morning then." Yugi nods, "Tea you have the address right?" Tea nods quickly and smiles, "Yep!" Yugi turns his attention to Asako, "It was nice to meet you Higurashi-san." His eyes shift to Kagome, "I'll see you in the morning around 8, the drive from Tokyo to Domino will probably take over an hour." Kagome nods and smiles, "See you then Yugi." Asako smiles, "It was nice to meet you as well Yugi-kun."
And after that goodbyes wrap up fairly smoothly, with Yugi and Tea heading for the book store and Kagome and Asako heading for the exit. Yugi sticks his hands in his pockets as Tea gives a quick grin, "So you and Kagome-chan seem to get along pretty well Yugi." Yugi shrugs lightly, "She's easy to get along with." Tea sighs and gives up on subtly, "So do you like her?" Yugi arches a brow at her, "Sure she's a likeable person." Tea sighs heavily, "Not like that. You know what I mean. She's single too you know." Yugi chuckles, "Wouldn't that be between Kagome and I Tea?" He could tell though that the meddling wasn't quite over yet from Tea, when she got something in her head it was nearly impossible to prevent her from following through with it, thankfully she has always been less brash then Joey or Tristan though. Tea pouts, "I just want to see you happy Yugi, it's not good that you spend so much time alone at the shop." Yugi shrugs and opens the door to the book shop, "I know you do Tea, but really, don't worry about it ok?" Tea sighs but relents knowing that Yugi wouldn't be pushed about this no matter how much prying she did, "Fine." She moves to look at the books as Yugi moves to look at the history section, no reason he couldn't browse a bit while Tea tried to make up her mind about what to get. As he is idly reading over titles his thoughts wander back to Kagome, 'I wonder if she will call... she didn't say anything though I saw her put the number away.'
Meanwhile the ride back to the Higurashi Shrine was quiet, not strained just calm. Asako wanted so badly to ask what had transpired between Kagome and Yugi during the time between the confrontation and him leading her to the table by hand.... but didn't want her daughter to clam up at the same time. Kagome spent the ride contemplating Yugi and trying to decide if she should call. As they arrive at the shrine Kagome gets out taking the bags from the trunk of the taxi and moves around to slip a hand back under her mother's elbow and leads her up the stairs. It's as they are half way up that Asako finally speaks up, "It was nice to see Tea-chan and meet Yugi-kun today. I'm glad you have a ride to Domino, I don't really like the idea of you riding the subway." Kagome chuckles softly, "Okaa-sama the subway is a million times safer then trapiezing through the fuedal era but it was nice of them to offer, it means I won't have to rush to catch the train either way." Asako nods, "Yugi-kun seems like a very pleasant young man, it was nice to see that your generation does have some gentlemen." Kagome blushes faintly, "Yea. He is nice, subtle too." Asako mentally pats herself on the back for getting Kagome to talk about it, "Subtle?" Kagome nods and when they reach the top of the stairs she reaches into her pocket pulling out a sip of paper and showing it to her mother, Asako's eyes twinkle in merriment, "So... he is leaving it up to you ne?"
Kagome nods softly, "Yea but i don't know if I'm going to call... I mean... it was probably only a courtesy thing since he and Tea-chan are giving me a ride tommarrow." She starts forward again but her mother keeps her feet planted, "I don't think that's the case Kagome. I think given the way he intervened on our way to the food court and the fact that he was holding your hand that he may actually be hoping you will call." Finally Asako moves forward and smiles serenely, "I'm glad you are starting to connect to people again sweetie." Kagome sighs softly, "Okaa-sama even if we did start something, my life is here on the Shrine. His is in Domino." Asako shrugs lightly, "There is no reasoning with it if your heart gets involved Kagome." That earns a sigh from Kagome because she knew her mother to be correct in this, "That's a big if Okaa. A really big if. After Inu.... my heart is pretty closed off from guys. I loved him deeply." Asako fives a soft frown, "I know Kagome but would he want you to live like this? Closed off from everyone but family?" Kagome sighs and shakes her head, "I know he'd gripe at me for being stupid, then he'd give me that cocky smirk he always got when he managed to prove himself right about something and thump me for good measure." Asako chuckles lightly as they head into the house and she turns to Kagome, "I'm going to start tea."
Kagome nods, "I'll put my new outfit away then be right back down." She watches her mother head for the kitchen then takes the stairs two at a time with the bags in one hand the slip of paper in the other. When she reaches her bedroom she takes the clothing from the bag and hangs it so there will be no wrinkles in it that shouldn't be, she was rather surprised that Tea's game had turned up such a suitable outfit but she wouldn't complain, it meant she didn't have to paw through things or they would probably still be at the store. Her fingers caress the hoari again a sad smile forming on her lips, and she speaks softly out loud even though she knew no one would hear her, "I love you Shippo. I wish you were here." She places a hand over her heart touching the small fox paw print she had gotten inked onto her skin on her 18th birthday. Even though her adventures to the past had been long finished her sweet little kitsune son was never far from her thoughts and he was firmly lodged in her heart so despite the strange looks she got from the artist she got the red paw print. She sighs softly setting the bag with the accessories on her desk and turns heading back down to the kitchen.
As for Tea and Yugi? The trip to the bookstore had yeilded three books that Tea decided to get for Hojo, and a new book on Egyptology for Yugi. He knew of course that his continued interest in all things Egypt often got strange looks from his friends since Atem was long gone to the afterlife but after having the ancient pharoah in him for so long it seemed weird to him to change now. After dropping Tea off at home Yugi had headed back to the gameshop, it was one of the few days that he didn't open, but considering how much the shop's clientelle had dwindled he wasn't too worried about it. He keeps the shop in his grandfather's honor, Sugoroku Motou had passed away several years ago, and Yugi despite his dispair of losing his beloved grandfather pulled together the funds and got Ishizu to help him so that his grandfather's ashes had gone to their final rest deep in the sands of Egypt, taken to the tomb where he had found the millenium puzzle so many years prior. It was only fitting as Sugoroku deserved to rest where he made the greatest find of his life. Ishizu had, despite the fact that he was not Egyptian, given him the last rites as if he were and prayed his soul would find it's way to the afterlife. Yugi heads in and upstairs with his new book, though that wasn't what was on his mind.
No what was on his mind was Kagome, the fact that she picked the outfit that he had picked for her was still sort of a surprise but the more he thought about it... the more the outfit seemed to be lacking something but what was the question. It's as he puts the book on his desk that his eyes alight on a somewhat dusty long jewelry box, and his brow crunches a bit as he recalls where and when he had bought that. It had been when they had gone to Egypt, before Atem had finally been granted access to the afterlife after he had beat him in a duel. He easily recalled how he'd felt almost.... compelled to purchase it though it was definately not something he would wear himself. He lifts the box dusting it off and opening the top looking at the gold chain, the pendant a simple one but held so much meaning as it was a gold Ankh. His lips curve into a smile, this... this was what was missing from her outfit. He touches the Ankh gently pushing it a little on the soft white pillow it rested on as he thinks back to Atem again. He missed the Pharoah deeply, he had been his best friend and partner. With a soft sigh he pushes the thoughts away and closes the box though he leaves it in plain sight so he wouldn't forget to take it with him in the morning. With that taken care of he moves about the house and shop doing housekeeping though it was not much as he wasn't a messy person by nature.
At the Shrine the afternoon stretched on in relative peace, after Kagome had tea with her mother she went back upstairs and changed into her miko garb. She sticks her cellphone, after adding Yugi's number to the phonebook, into her bra before heading down, "I need to tend the garden Okaa. I'll be out there if you need me." She had gotten a quick smile and a nod in response so she heads out to her herb garden to check for weeds and any invading bugs. She is on the far side of the garden when she settles down on her knees and pulls the phone out from between her breasts and looks at it, she takes a deep breath before calling up his contact information and hitting dial. She brings the phone to her ear listening to it ring, Yugi startles when his phone suddenly vibrates in his pocket and nearly drops the dust rag he had been using as he digs it out. Just as Kagome was about to hang up Yugi gets the phone to his ear without looking at the caller ID, "Moshi moshi." Kagome bites her lip but doesn't speak at first due to being somewhat nervous, Yugi pulls the phone away to look at the screen and verify the call hadn't been dropped, "Hello?"
Kagome flusters, "Hey Yugi..." A smile blooms on Yugi's face though she obviously couldn't see it, "Hey Kagome. I'm glad you called." Kagome's lips curl into a smile as well, "I almost didn't... but I'm glad I did too. I want to give you points for your subtle delivery by the way." Yugi flusters a bit but chuckles, "I didn't want you to feel pressured, if you wanted to call that was great but I wasn't going to push you about it." Kagome leans forward crooking the phone between her ear and shoulder as she gently plucks some of the ready herbs, "It was really sweet of you and quite a gentlemanly way to handle things." Yugi chuckles, "Oh I found something when I got home I think it will be the icing on your outfit." Kagome crunches her brow, "But you already had picked out the accessories?" Yugi smirks lightly, "I did but as I got home I realized something was missing. Then I found the necklace and knew that was what was missing." Kagome gets to her feet with the herbs in hand and moves to her small shed to get a basket to put them in so she could keep harvesting while she spoke, "A necklace?" Yugi grins, "Yes a necklace. I'll bring it with me in the morning." Kagome places the herbs in her hand into the basket then turns and heads back, "I'll be really careful with it Yugi."
Yugi chuckles softly, "I bought it on a whim years ago, I won't wear it so if you end up liking it then you can just keep it." Kagome flusters, "But it's yours!" Yugi chuckles as he begins to dust the shelves in the shop again, "It's rather feminine for me Kagome, I don't even know why I bought it so it might as well go to someone who will actually wear it rather then leave it in a box to gather dust." Kagome is flustered further but lets out a soft sigh as she conceeds, "Alright Yugi you win." Yugi lets out a victorious "Woot. Oh I wanted to ask what you have planned for next friday evening." Kagome blinks then searches her memory, "Nothing that I know of, I was probably going to work more on my next book. Why?" Yugi is quiet a moment before he decides as he did earlier, in for a penny in for a pound, "I was wondering if you might like to go to dinner with me." Kagome hesitates a moment as she truely considers it then takes a chance, "Sure Yugi I'd love to. Be a nice change from my normal routine." Now Asako had come out to ask Kagome what she would like to have for dinner in time to hear that last sentence and she is beaming a bright smile as she moves around so Kagome can see her.
Glancing up Kagome blushes brilliantly, "Uh... Yugi? I'll call you back later and we can iron out details ok?" Yugi blinks and nods, "Sure Kagome, I need to finish up in the shop anyways. Talk to you later." Kagome files away the question that suddenly popped up about the shop he was talking about, she would ask later, "Later Yugi." "Until then, take care Kagome." Kagome can't help the sweet smile that blooms on her lips, "You too Yugi." Then they hang up notibly neither of them actually said goodbye. Kafome looks up at her mother, "Did you need something Okaa?" Asako's smile only grows wider, "I came out to see what you wanted for dinner, but didn't want to interrupt your phone call." Kagome pushes to her feet carrying the basket, "Why don't I make stew tonight?" Asako favors her with a surprised glance, "If you would like to cook that's fine." Kagome smiles, "It won't be as good as it could be since I don't have Inu to go hunting but I don't mind." Asako nods and reaches out to take the basket, she waits a heartbeat before she can't contain herself, "Tell me my ears weren't deceiving me and that you really were on the phone with Yugi-kun... and you were setting up a date."
Kagome blushes then gives a shy smile and a nod, "He asked me out for next friday... for dinner. I accepted." Asako smiles brightly, "I am glad Kagome, it's not good that you seclude yourself so much." Kagome chuckles softly and wraps an arm around her mother's as they walk back to the house. Today had been a good one, and when Souta finally arrives home, just as the stew was being put into bowls infact, dinner was a much livelier affair then usual as if someone had reached in and swept away all the hidden stress that strained on everyone. Yugi ordered a pizza not in the mood to cook for himself and starts thinking about tommarrow, his lips lift in a half smirk as he sends a text to Kagome, 'Do you mind if I pick you up at 7 instead of 8 in the morning?' half a minute later a text comes back, 'Not at all. Did something happen?' Yugi taps his fingers off the table before responding, 'No I just thought I would come get you then swing and get Tea before heading to the signing.' Kagome blushes faintly as she looks at her phone, 'Ah alright sounds good. Do you need my address?' Yugi chuckles softly, 'I can look it up, See you bright and early.'
Kagome isn't aware of the smile that lights her lips as she responds back, 'Sure thing. See you in the morning.' then both put their phones away and Yugi heads upstairs to read his new book for a while as Kagome heads to the living room, "Ready for me to kick your butt Souta?" Souta gives a challenging grin, "Like you can! I'm a great Duelist!" Kagome laughs, "Sure sure. Lets get this show on the road." She lifts on her toes to pull down the ornate box from the shelf and puts it on the coffee table before opening the lid. Both she and Souta reach in pulling their respective decks from it, these were the decks that they only played against each other with, it was a bonding thing for them since they didn't spend as much time together. Late into the evening the duo duel doing a best of three tourney between them, with Souta coming out the winner with 2 of 3. Kagome ruffles his hair and heads to bed with a yawn once the decks were put back away. The last thought on her mind was Yugi, and unknown to her the last thought that crossed Yugi's mind when he went to bed was Kagome's beautiful blue eyes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AN: And that is that. A little action and the reveal of Kagome's temper. It took a while for me to write this out, I went back and erased three times because it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. Small edits done on spelling and making it flow a tad gentler.
Kagome smiles lightly, "Last I heard." they continue forward Kagome slightly ahead of her mother by a half step not that it was obvious to anyone else but it was enough so when a pair of roughhousing teenage boys nearly rammed into them Kagome was quick to release her mother's elbow and step forward enough to shove them off their original course which would have included crashing into the two of them. The way Kagome squared her shoulders alerted Asako that her daughter was about to make trouble, and that was only increased when Kagome's stubborn chin came up, but before she could say anything...

AN: And that is that. A little action and the reveal of Kagome's temper. It took a while for me to write this out, I went back and erased three times because it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. Small edits done on spelling and making it flow a tad gentler.
