Chapter 2
Two weeks before the first meeting of Sesshoumaru and Kagome and one knows not of who the other is.
“Father, I don’t even know this female!” “I understand this Sesshoumaru, but, it is time. This has got to be done now.” “I ask again, why now?” “Sesshoumaru, this will strengthen our two Inu Kingdoms. Now, at a time when there is a growing unrest with the Dragon Kingdom, Lord Seth feels that his daughter, Kagome, who will be turning seventeen in human years in two days time, is ready to be mated. Kagome is a beautiful Inu with black hair and blue eyes. We knew from the time of her birth that she is the one who holds and protects the Shikon-No-Tama. The jewel is deep within her heart, a part of her very soul!”
“Wait, you mean to tell me that the Inu female from the Dark Kingdom that I am to mate is a Inu/ Priestess? Father, have you and Lord Seth sentence me to death before we even complete the mating?”Sesshoumaru an expressionless demon had a look of shock and even horror for a brief second, just barely long enough for his father to see and inwardly snigger at.
“Come, now my boy! HA ha! Surely an inu-demoness does not strike a bit of fear in the GREAT SESSHOUMARU! I mean, I can always send Inuyasha in to do the job if you find this to much of a challenge, eh,eh?”
“Father, there is no need to insult me. I was just a bit taken aback at the entire situation of a hurried mating. But, indeed, if you and Lord Seth wish for it to be done for the good of the Dark and White Kingdoms, then, so be it. It will be done”, Sesshoumaru sneered.
“Fine, fine, I expected nothing less of my first born Sesshoumaru.” Sesshoumaru looked from the corner of his eye and knew his father was making to light of a serious situation, but he would go through with it, even if it, and it could, mean his death or the death of HIS most sacred jewel and he glanced down at his crotch. ‘How far we have falling master.’ ‘Silence,beast! We have fallen no where you idiot! Are we not still here, quit pacing and be still!’ The beast knew not to question Sesshoumaru calling him an idiot or he would be locked away at the next female romp. Even though Sesshoumaru was him and the beast was Sesshoumaru.
“Father, since you are Lord of The West, and Lord Seth is the Lord of the Central Lands, why is there such a concern? Has Lord Seth lost numbers in his armies?” “No my son, he has not. However, a growing evil has been stirring in the southern boarders where Lord Ore of the Dragon Clan patrols and it is from both our kingdoms spy details that we have learned that Lord Ore has been collaborating with a sinister, vile being that came from the Lands of China. The being goes by the name of Lord Naraku. This evil creature has destroyed many and has been asking of the jewel and it’s origins. Kagome must be protected! If she were to fall into the wrong hands and under the evil influence of such a being, we all could be destoryed.”
“Father, if this Sesshoumaru was one to play up such theatrics, I would laugh at the thought of you thinking someone could take this Sesshoumaru down and especially the House of The West.”
“Sesshoumaru, never let your pride and over confidence blind you to true power. Kagome holds more true power than either one of us could ever hope to dream of. Kagome just has not come into her maturity yet. If something were taken from her that is dear to her that she must fight for, her power WILL awaken. If she does not have a strong mate, all is lost. A strong mate will be what keeps Lady Kagome focused, never doubt her my son. For Lady Kagome has raised an orphaned fox demon child for the last four years. To Kagome, Master Shippo is her son, and any who mates her must respect and take on the responsibility of guardianship and parent to this little fox. I fear she will not mate any who does not willing want Shippo and their mother/son relationship. Are you ready to take on a responsibility such as this?”
“Yes Father!” ‘Are you the idiot now? A fox child! They are evil. Tricks all the time, NO, WE refuse!’ ‘Be silent!’
