Sharing is Good

Inuyasha was woke up to the sound of hysterical female laughter. He smiled when he heard it, it was so good to hear Kagome having a good time. He figured that they were done studying if they were making that kind of racket, so he figured it was safe for him to go down. He grabbed his shirt from Kagome's desk chair and headed downstairs.

Keiko was laughing so hard she was crying when she looked up and seen Inuyasha coming down the stairs. She was struck again at how absolutely gorgeous he was. Of course it helped that all he had on was his low riding hakama pants, but she still thought he could rival Kurama when he was in Youko form for elegantly sexy. Inuyasha picked up on the look she was giving him, and simply grinned at her. He wasn't used to very many people staring at him without deep hatred in their eyes, it was actually really nice.

"Hello Inuyasha, I hope we didn't wake you." Keiko grinned back as she greeted him. "Of course you did, you’re down here cackling like a bunch of old hags. Do you really think I could sleep through that?" He slid sideways into the arm chair closest to the stairs, his forgotten shirt still in his hand. She could hear the teasing in his voice, so she didn’t take offense. Apparently Kagome didn't feel the same way.

"Old hags!! I'll show you an old hag, you better take it back! And for God's sake, put some clothes on!" Kagome exclaimed. She turned to Keiko, "I'm sorry he has a bad habit of insulting everyone, even if he just met them, and he usually has the sense to keep his clothes on too!!" Kagome was embarrassed by his behavior in front of Keiko.

"Oh Kagome, it’s not a big deal. I'm used to that remember, Yusuke is very similar. And by all means, don't make him get dressed just for my sake." Keiko glanced over at him as she said it, "I'm rather enjoying the view." She saw his eyes raise at the comment, and she immediately began to blush a deep red. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that to sound the same way it did. Please don't be mad at me, I usually don't make it a habit of that kind of thing." She hung her head as she apologized to her friend.

Kagome laughed at her. "Hey, that’s okay, if you want to ogle him, I can't stop you, but that does mean that I get a free ogle at Yusuke, whenever I get to meet him." She was kinda surprised that Keiko had said something along those lines, but at the same time part of her wasn’t. She knew that Inuyasha was good looking, and it made her feel good that Keiko thought so too. She also noticed that Inuyasha seemed to be enjoying the attention, although she did hear his slight growl when she mentioned ogling Yusuke. Good, it would do him some good to be a little jealous.

"Oh, he'll be more than happy to hear that, he is such a flirt. Maybe you guys will get to meet him soon. I would love to do a double date!" Keiko was still blushing, but she was at least looking up again.

"No, if he is anything like that monk, then you Kagome cannot be around him." Inuyasha finally contributed to the conversation. He couldn't handle it if this Yusuke was all over his Kagome like Miroku was to all the women they met.

Keiko, who had heard all about Miroku from Kagome, knew who he was talking about. "I can assure you, that he is nothing like your friend from your time. He is a flirt, but he is not lecherous like the monk." She was quick to jump to Yusuke's defense. She heard the possessiveness that could be heard in Inuyasha's voice and she wanted to stop any potential disasters before they started.

"Inuyasha, how many times have I told you that you do not own me!! If I want to see the most perverted man in all of Japan, then I most certainly will. And besides, from what I've heard about Yusuke, he is more like Kouga than Miroku." Kagome couldn't help but add that last part in, she knew it would drive him crazy.

Inuyasha growled louder this time. He hated that mutt. She expected him to be friendly to a man who was like that? She was even crazier than normal if she thought that was going to happen.

Keiko could feel the tension in the room getting thicker, she supposed that Inuyasha did not like this Kouga guy very much. She figured that she should distract them before it got blown way out of proportion and they ended up fighting or before he ended up hating Yusuke before he even got the chance to meet him.

Kagome could also tell that it was getting tense, and really didn't want her friend to witness one of their fights, at least, not until she was sure it wouldn't make her run screaming for the hills. In an effort to ease some of the tension, she turned on a bright smiled and looked at Keiko. "Say Keiko, after all that studying, are you as starving as I am?" Keiko smiled thankfully at her, she knew that she was distracting Inuyasha. "I definitely wouldn't be against a snack." "Me too, I say that you make some of those noodley things you always bring us back Kagome" Inuyasha added in, the jealousy over Kouga apparently forgotten. "Instant ramen again, that is all you ever want." Kagome rolled her eyes at her boyfriend. She apparently had created a monster when she took back the quick meal to the feudal era.

"But Kagome, it tastes so good. How can you not love romane noddles." He protested, not catching his mispronunciation of the word, he really didn't understand why it wasn't okay to eat it all the time, obviously if it tasted that good, it should be okay.

Keiko just laughed, "you mean Ramen noodles right? If that is what you guys like, then you should come over sometime, my parents run a Ramen stand, with freshly made ramen in every flavor you can think of."

"Strike! We are going there Kagome, although I'm not sure if they will be as good freshly made." Inuyasha had the excitement of a small child in a candy store at the thought of trying new ramen. "Oh, I assure you Inuyasha, they are much better than the instant ones that you can make in the packages. You guys are welcome to come by whenever you want." Keiko informed them.

Kagome looked at Inuyasha, who was all but bouncing in his chair, she didn't think she had ever seen him this excited, except maybe when tormenting Boyo. "If Keiko doesn't mind calling an end to the study session, and showing us how to get there, we can go right now if you want too." Kagome informed him. He pulled her suddenly into his lap, and nuzzled her neck. "Yes, right now. I have to see if these fresh noodles are better. They might even taste better than you do, I wonder..." Inuyasha's sentence wandered off when he started licking her neck. "Inuyasha, stop it, Keiko is still sitting right here.." Kagome protested weakly but she never could resist him when he was in this playful sexy mood.

Keiko sat watching them for a minute, until she realized that she was staring at them rather rudely. She had been mesmerized by the sight of Inuyasha's tongue tracing down Kagome's neck, and the barely visible point of his sharp canine teeth. She wondered how many times he had drawn her blood with an accidental nip. She shook her head sharply, "get ahold of yourself Keiko, they don't need you watching them like that. You are getting as bad as Yusuke."

Inuyasha could tell she was still watching them, and he was amazed to see her eyes starting to glass over instead of glaring at them in disgust. Keiko was definitely an interesting girl.

Kagome finally snapped out of it, and realized that they were still sitting in her living room, with company no less. She hastily pushed herself away from him, and sat up. "Keiko, I.. I'm...I'm sorry, that was not very appropriate." She blushed a bright red as she apologized to her friend. "Oh, it’s okay Kagome, I understand the lure of a totally sexy, apparently very talented man." Keiko reassured her embarrassed friend. She was so glad that Kagome didn't realize that she had been staring at them the whole time, although she knew that Inuyasha had probably noticed.

He glanced over at Kagome, who was flushed and embarrassed, he would so be teasing her later about this, and then at Keiko. She had a slight redness to her checks that could have been embarrassment, or it could be something else. He took a hesitant sniff of the air and knew instantly it was the second option. Keiko had been turned on by watching them, he was sure of it. He could smell Kagome's familiar scent, spiked with arousal and then a second unfamiliar but still pleasant scent that he was sure had to belong to her. Interesting indeed, he was curious to see just how interesting this strange human girl who dated demons really was.

20 minutes later they were sitting in Keiko's parent's ramen shop. She had introduced her friends to her parents, and now they were sitting at Keiko's favorite booth in the corner waiting on their orders. Inuyasha was tuning out the girls as they chatted about some new something that they had seen in a store on the way over here. He glanced up when the door to the shop opened, but didn't take notice of the person who walked in until he approached their table.

"Hey sexy, you come here often?" a definitely masculine voice said from beside their table. Inuyasha turned to glare at the man, automatically taking offence that anyone would speak to a woman that way especially if it was directed at his woman. The girls jumped slightly, surprised at the sudden intrusion. "Umm, hello.." Kagome said politely. Inuyasha growled quietly when the man turned toward her and smiled. "Hello."

Keiko started laughing when she noticed her friend’s reactions, clearly they had no idea what was going on. She reached over and grabbed his arm. "Keiko, what are you doing?" Kagome asked slightly panicked. "It’s okay guys, I would like you to meet Yusuke." she pulled the boy into the booth beside her, still laughing. "Yusuke, this is Kagome and Inuyasha, I told you about them the other day remember?" Yusuke grinned at them, "nice to meet you."

After they had said their introductions she spoke up again. "It’s a little running joke of ours, that I might be new here because I'm here so much." She explained, so they wouldn't think that his statement upon walking up to them was normal behavior, or anything weird. Inuyasha still had his guard up, but he had quit growling. He hadn't noticed the man's energy when he walked in, but now as he was sitting across from him, he could definitely feel the slight swirl of demon energy coming off of him.

"Hey, it’s okay, I know I was confused, I'm not used to people just coming up to us like that." Kagome smiled at Yusuke. "I should have realized who you were though, I'm sure not too many cute demon boys are walking around talking to strangers." Yusuke just laughed, "Keiko told you? Oh wait, you’re the Miko right, no wonder." "Well, yes she had told me, and you are very good at masking your youkai, so I didn't notice as soon as you walked in." Kagome explained.

"Fair enough, I suppose I would expect no less from someone of your skill. Plus, your boyfriend's growling kinda tips him off too." Yusuke motioned toward Inuyasha who was still frowning. "It’s gonna take more than a little growl to scare me off." He was laughing he enjoyed disrupting the flow of the conversation. "It wasn't meant as a threat, just a warning," Inuyasha informed him, "I usually don't even realize I'm doing it, until Kagome stops me." Keiko wasn't sure how well this first meeting was going, but she was spared from thinking about it at the current moment, because her father brought over their food.

"Here you go guys, I hope that this ramen lives up to your expectations young man." he placed the bowl of steaming ramen in front of Inuyasha. "Hey Yusuke, I didn't know you were coming, give me a minute, and I'll bring you some too." Keiko's father informed the late comer with a grin, it was apparent he liked the boy. "Hey, thanks Mr. Yukimura, last minute decision to stop by when I walked past and spotted a beautiful girl in here" Keiko's father just laughed and headed back toward the kitchen.

"Yusuke, you're shameless." Keiko rolled her eyes at him, "You would have got free food anyway you know." "I have no idea what you are talking about, I saw a beautiful woman and just had to talk to her, and then I just happened to notice that you were with her and figured you could introduce me, what is so wrong with that?" Yusuke teased her. He winked at Kagome as he said it. He knew that Keiko knew he was kidding, and it was hilarious to see the reactions of Kagome and Inuyasha. She blushed bright red and choked on the drink she had just taken, and he growled again, apparently, he was the possessive type. Inuyasha had no problem agreeing with him though, between the two of them, they were the prettiest girls he had seen while spending time in this era.

"See Kagome, I told you he was a flirt, and a shameless one at that." Keiko just laughed and shook her head, she was used to Yusuke's teasing by now. "So you did, Keiko." Kagome agreed, she could tell it would take some time to get used to Yusuke's style. "I think we should eat before our food gets cold, don't you think?" she suggested, suddenly unsure of how this conversation was going to go, and wanting to change topics before it had a chance to turn bad. Inuyasha had already started eating, and so was ignoring them all.

Yusuke's food was brought out shortly after that, and the general flow of conversation was picked up again as they ate. By the time they were ready to leave, they had been finished eating for quite some time. After the initial awkwardness had worn off, Inuyasha and Yusuke found themselves talking like they had known each other for years, which made both of the girls extremely happy. It looked like their plans for a double date wouldn't be too much trouble to orchestrate after all. Each couple went their separate ways, promising to get in contact soon.


Before they knew it, two months had passed since their initial meeting. Since then they had started hanging out more and more together. Inuyasha was comfortable around Keiko and Yusuke and their group of friends, and as a result, he had started to open up more and more when in this era. Kagome wasn't sure how the transformation had happened so quickly, but she was grateful, it had been so long since they could hang out with anyone besides Sango and Miroku. Plus, she loved hanging out with Keiko, it was like she finally had the sister she had always wanted. Their group of friends accepted them just as quickly as Keiko and Yusuke had too, which was great. The only one who appeared to not want them around was the fire demon Hiei, but from what Keiko said, that is just how he was to everyone. If he bothered enough to let you know you weren't wanted, then he really did like you around.
