Father to Son

A/N: Random inspiration to feed Izzanami's need for Inucest. That's right, Brian May. Kukuku, I have corrupted yet another of your songs. *evil grin* That's the price of being relevant, I suppose, at least in the world of InuYasha fanfiction. The lyrics in italics come lovingly harvested from the Queen song of the same name, pretty much all the parts I thought applied to Sesshoumaru and InuYasha. If you get a chance and can get past the totally 1974 sound of the song, give it a listen; I think it totally goes with them and Inu no Taishou, and not only for this story. Well, without further ado, hope you enjoy and, as always, thanks for reading! :)

Father to Son

A word in your ear, from father to son

Hear the word that I say

I fought with you, fought on your side

Long before you were born

He wasn't sure for whom the letter was meant, if anyone, his father's lyrical musings perhaps meant to be kept private, only for him. Still, the words echoed in his head, his chichiue's voice beginning to drown out his brother's ecstatic sighs and whimpers. He himself would soon be a father, and yet he could not imagine loosing such an outpouring of emotion, on the pages of a letter or otherwise. His only release was here, with his brother and chosen mate in their private quarters, far from the prying eyes and ears of the court their father once led. He was getting too big for them to connect comfortably in any of their usual positions, the twins growing rather cumbersome for his male body to carry despite the genetic predisposition that allowed him to conceive them in the first place. But it was somehow sweeter this way, both lying on their sides, Sesshoumaru behind InuYasha, the side of his thumb grazing the lower swell of his belly as he stroked his cock.

"Hunh," InuYasha gasped, clawed hand reaching for his brother's cheek. "Sesshou." He was close, he could tell, his breathing and the erratic bucking of his hips drawing Sesshoumaru that much closer to his own peak. He kissed the curve between his neck and shoulder, InuYasha letting out an emphatic Ohhh as he gently nipped at the sensitive spot, a little growl caught in his own throat as they neared the simultaneous climax he sought. It hit and they shuddered against one another, Sesshoumaru covering his brother's neck and back in kisses. Both panting, he slowly withdrew, rising from the futon to gather his clothes.

"Where are you going?" InuYasha asked from behind him.

"I have something to show you." With that, he was gone, still tying his sleeping yukata shut as he left.

His brother hadn't bothered dressing in his absence, too tired from the night's lovemaking to care, bundled only in the sheet when he returned. He held out the piece of parchment on which their father's words were scrawled, InuYasha confusedly taking the letter into his hands. "What's this?"

"Something I think you should see."

Take this letter that I give you

Take it sonny, hold it high

You won't understand a word that's in it

But you'll write it all again before you die

Amber eyes so much like his own lifted. "From Father?" Never before had he heard InuYasha refer to their father with such reverence, almost looking as though he might cry.

Sesshoumaru nodded, scooting his brother's bent legs aside in order to make room for him to sit close on the futon they shared. "He must have written it for you, likely somewhere between his battle with Ryoukotsuei and coming to rescue you. Chichiue always had perfect handwriting, never have I seen such sloppy script."

"How do ya know he didn't write it for you?" InuYasha handed the letter back to him, pointing to the part regarding the object's not understanding. "Seems he's sayin goodbye in a way, to someone he already knew. He could just as easily have written it for you."

Sesshoumaru looked over the letter one last time, settling beside his brother with a sigh. "Perhaps we are both reading it wrong. Maybe it was meant for both of us. Maybe somewhere, between life and death, he glimpsed our destiny, knew one day we would come." He paused, placing his hand over InuYasha's stomach. "To this."

The hanyou smiled faintly, letting his head rest against his brother's. "Let me see it again."

Sesshoumaru handed the letter back to him, the writing partially shadowed as he leaned in to read along with him, his head between it and the flicker of the nearby lamp.

A word in your ear, from father to son

Funny you don't hear a single word I say

But my letter to you will stay by your side

Through the years till the loneliness is gone

But the air you breathe I live to give you

"You know…" InuYasha's smile broadened. "I think you may be right. His way of telling us all the things he couldn't say once he was gone, only he's wrong about one thing."

"And that is?"

He raised his head, nose to nose with his loving aniki. "We won't have to write one."
