Chapter 2
The sound I awoke to the next morning was the opening of the door to Sesshoumarus chambers, and the soft clicking of it closing.
“Sesshoumaru for the first time in your life, you’re sleeping in. What in kami’s name is wrong with you?”
The voice belonging to Sesshoumarus father Inu-Tashio, a voice I hadn’t heard in far too long.
Sesshoumaru slept on, so I yawned, stretched, and replied,
“I guess that would be my fault. Sorry Tashio I kind ‘a kept him up late...err... early. Want me to wake him?"
The shock was evident on the old Western Lords face.
“D...Drai? Is it really you?”
“Yes father, my mate has finally returned home.”
Replied Sesshoumaru in a voice still thick with sleep from over my shoulder, it made me want to purr for him.
The old Tai continued to look shocked as I leaned towards my sleepy mate with his mussed hair, lidded eyes and proceeded to kiss him silly.
“Morning,” I whispered into his lips. His reply was a blinding smile.
“Mate!..... Wh...when did that happen?!” The confused demon asked,
After a lingering kiss from my bed partner, I leaned back and tilted my head in thought.
“Um... I think it was when you were courting Izoia, or maybe just before... either way it was long ago; Before Inu-Yasha was born I know that much.” I answered.
A slight growl was heard from my counterpart at the mention of his half-brothers name.
“Ohh, you’re too touchy when it comes to him.” I said, giving Sesshoumaru a playful shove to the shoulder.
“Besides they took good care of me before you found me,” I added.
A slight frown marred his beautiful face, and before I could inquire as to why he asked,
“How long, EXACTLY were you with that band of misfits?”
I smiled, knowing exactly where this was going.
“Only a few hours I believe, my over protective one.”
The forgotten Tai standing just inside the doorway snickered as my mate ‘harrumphed’ like a child, and turned his head away. Looking closer I..... Wait, no way. It couldn’t be!
“Love, I ahhh..... hate to say this but ar... are you blushing?!” I just had to ask.
Tashio burst out suddenly laughing making my poor Sesshoumarus face turn even more pink to which made his father laugh even harder. Knowing this couldn’t end well; I sat up pulling a pink tinged Sesshoumaru with me. He resisted only to bury his face into my stomach, and wrap his arms around my back, all the while still belly down on the bed; in all truth he was acting like a smartened pup. It was too cute. He then groaned as he could still hear his father’s laughter and muttered for him to leave, talking into my stomach. That itself making the demon Lord renew his laughter.
Figuring he should take his leave, Inu-Tashio winked at me, turned his eyes to the back of Sesshoumaru’s head and smiled a warm smile.
Shaking his head he turned to leave with a huge grin plastered on his face.
“You’re free to sleep in all you want Sesshoumaru.” He called out just beyond the doorway.
Sesshoumaru responded by groaning once again and rolling over on his back.
I smiled at my mate, leaned down and gently kissed his forehead, then each eyelid and finally I descended upon his lips to which I ghosted over and whispered.
“You’re beautiful when you blush my fierce demon.”

I know sesshoumaru is very OOC in this chapter, but my muse wouldn't let me stop and it was to cute not to write :)
