The Change
Surprise! Kagome’s a What?

***With the Inuyasha ***
Inuyasha ran. He just took off into the forest, all he could think of was the pain! It was excruciating to say the least. He never thought it would be this painful to change, sure it was uncomfortable when he changed for the new moon, but that was nothing compared to this. As he ran he paid no mind to the branches in his way, or the roots that cut his bare feet. Eventually the pain became so much he could go no further. Inuyasha stumbled and fell to the ground writhing in pain as he slowly changed into a full youkai. His hair lengthened taking on a new sheen and softening to the touch. His fangs and claws became longer, sharper, and more deadly. In the span of just a few minutes his body lengthened as well, making him only slightly shorter than Sesshomaru now. Finally Inuyasha gained his demonic markings, almost identical to his brothers with the exception of color. His strips were more of a vibrant red, similar to his clothing, and upon his forehead was a bright blue crescent moon.
As Inuyasha finished his transformation he squinted into the forest in the direction from whence he came. As he scanned his surroundings Inuyasha noticed the change had also enhanced his senses. He saw more clearly, almost to the point of making light painful, he could hear things further away, and his sense of smell was more acute. With this new finding he took a minute to refamiliarize with his surroundings. He as he found he was just out of hearing range from the rest of the group, and decided to move in and find the woman he hoped would become his mate.
*** Back with the rest of the group (Kagome’s POV) ***
As Kagome looked down at her son, the first thing she noticed was the light pink stripes on her wrists. Upon further examination she saw she now had claws, her hands were different. How she wasn’t quite sure but they seemed almost elegant. Most noticeable though was the fact that the chest that she now hugged her son to was now larger. Once Shippo was assured that she was alright he looked up into her face, he was stunned. “Momma, you’re…beautiful!” Shippo said in a most reverent of tones.
Kagome laughed at his gaping mouth. “You know you keep your mouth open like that for too long, you might start catching flies.” She said, awed by the fact that even her voice had changed, matured. Kagome set her kit down to go find hand mirror she kept in her bag.
As she stood, Inuyasha made his return.
** Inuyasha’s POV **
He was stunned. How could he not be? She was after all stunning. He stood for a moment trying to take it all in. The changes, the improvements, and… the glare on her face.
Her hair had lengthened as his had and now came to just under her knees. It shone a deep deep blue when the sun hit it. Her eyes had also become blue, an amazing shade of midnight blue that could suck you into their depths. Her strips were a pale pink shade, which complemented the baby blue above her eyes. Her body had filled out in all the right places, and she gained almost half a foot in height. Most of which was from the lengthening of her legs. The baby fat that once made her look so young was gone, replaced with lean muscle making her slim, but not quite skinny.
Having been three years sense her first trip down the well Kagome no longer wore her school uniform on her trips to the feudal era. Which was a good thing, because the garment would have been obscene on her new form. Now she wore a pair of stretch (thank kami) jeans and a plain cotton t-shirt. The pants now looked like they had been vacuum sealed to her, and the shirt wasn’t fairing so well either.
As Inuyasha studied the woman before him he felt something stir within him.
~Mine! Take mate! ~ Inu heard from somewhere inside his own mind.
*What the hell? Who are you?* Inu thought.
~ You idiot I am your beast. Now take the woman before I do it for you! ~
*No, she’d freak. We have to get her to agree to be our mate, or it won’t be permanent. We’re just going to have to wait.* Inuyasha’s beast obviously didn’t like his answer, and started to fight against Inuyasha’s control.
** Kagome’s POV **
* OMG* Kagome thought as she saw Inuyasha enter the clearing. * He looks so much like Sesshomaru! But, I liked the old Inuyasha. Why did he do this? How could he do this to me?! * Kagome came out of her wonderings just to realize that Inu was staring at her, and she didn’t exactly like the look on his face.
As she continued to notice the changes she also noticed one that really worried her. His eyes were starting to take on a pink tint. Not a good sign. As his eyes started to darken to a deep pink, almost red Kagome took a step backwards, instinctively trying to put distance between herself and the out of control male. Unfortunately this triggered the loss of what control he had left.
~* Mine! *~ He snarled as he lunged for Kagome. Kagome was faster.
“Sit boy!” She was just able to move out of the way as he hit the ground with a thud, in the spot she had been standing just moments ago. Kagome was distraught to say the least. Inuyasha had stolen the jewel from her, made a wish that turned not only himself, but also her into a full demon, and to top it all off now he’d attacked her. So she did the only thing she could think of, “I need some time on my own to think. I’ll be back later guys.” With that she took off into the forest, not caring what direction she went, all she cared about was getting away from Inuyasha. She needed to find a place where he couldn’t find her.
*** (Kagome’s POV) Later that evening… ***
She’d found the perfect place. After running for a few hours Kagome found a stream and stopped to take a drink, and rest. She was disappointed to find that forest made it so there wasn’t enough light for her to get a good reflection in to stream. Sighing she thought to herself *I guess I’ll just have to wait to find out what I look like* She took the time to wash her face and get a drink before choosing to follow the stream while she thought.
* Why would he do this? I mean, sure I was in love with him once, but now he’s more like a brother to me. Surely he doesn’t think I would mate him… Shit! That has to be it, you don’t alter your wish for just a friend. He thinks he can make me his mate! Oh boy, what have I gotten myself into?* Kagome was brought out of her musings by the sound of screeching which just happened to be coming from a certain toad demon we all know…
