Sesshomaru sat in a small clearing near his home. That was all it seemed he could do lately—the only thing he could bring himself to do actually. It was too late to bring her back, only once that was it. He loved her, His Rin.
Now he remembered why he would shield his emotions. Not let anyone in. There was emptiness, it hurt in his heart. To know that one girl—his mate, could be the one to heal him. She was the one to show him kindness and love. She was the one to capture his heart. She was his mate, his love. And she was the one, to break him. Soon after Sesshomaru let his mind run free with thoughts of his love.
As he thought of these things, something—weird began to happen to him. His eyes began to sting with the unshed tears for Rin.
“Rin, what you mean to me…is indescribable. Why did you have to leave me?” Sesshomaru whispered to himself as he looked off into nothing.
He sat and thought back on the many days like this the two would sit together, in this field. The two would sometimes talk and laugh, even sit in silence. She would always have a beautiful smile on her face, always say she loved him. He finally returned those words. He kissed her, made love to her, made her his. Although she always was, he just did not know it.
I love you Sesshomaru. And I always will. Rin always said these words to him. Maybe, just maybe If Sesshomaru had confessed earlier…she might have stayed. Although it was not her choice to leave, death was the reason for her departure. Not by the hands of some lowly demon, but the Kami wanted their Angel…No. The Kami wanted His Angel back.
His Angel.
His Love.
His Rin.
“I love you Rin. And I always will.” Sesshomaru whispered as he hung his head, and for the first time in his life…
He cried.
