Chapter 2


Back at Kiade’s village she had been searching all over but still no sign of the young boy. Kiade was getting very worried she needed to inform Kagome that her little brother is missing.

Kiade decided to grab some men and go search within the forest maybe that might be were Souta is. It had been hours and the sun was setting so the Kiade and the villagers headed back to their homes.

Meanwhile Uh-Un had landed not to long ago with a sleeping Souta on its back. Jaken had been standing guard making sure their was no other demons coming their way. He looked at the child and wondered were he came from.

Souta was wearing his school uniform and Jaken had the gut feeling that this boy comes from the same time as that girl Kagome. However he might have got that bit right Jaken had no idea though that he was actually Kagome’s brother.

The moon was out and a slight figure was walking towards the small group luckily for Jaken it was only his master.

“Were going” was all Sesshomaru said but before he could even take a single step Jaken had to say something. “My lord what of the boy are you planning on taking him with us” Jaken waited for Sesshomaru’s reply.

Just like Sesshomaru he stayed quiet the entire time, but thoughts did run through his head. Why had he saved him and why was he allowing this boy to come along with him but most of all was it a good idea to take this child.

Souta soon woke up and noticed that he was still on top of the dragon and it was nearly morning. Though Jaken was no were to be seen either was Sesshomaru had they abandon him in the middle of no were.

Souta was rather worried, he got of Uh-Un just when he was about to walk of the two headed dragon grabbed onto his shirt. It seemed that they were trying to tell him not to wonder of.

It would be best if he did stay with the dragon at least he would have some protection from other demons. He clasped his hand around the pendant on the necklace which Kagome had given him.

It felt warm as if it was keeping Souta from feeling cold since the cool wind was blowing. The boy wondered if their was something magical about the pendant and it was probably the reason he was able to come to this time.

Kagome was able to come through because she held the sacred jewel but this jewel was different. Though with Souta wearing it, it had allowed him also to come through the well just like his sister.

Souta could hear noises around him somewhere in the forest he held onto Uh-Un tightly. He maybe ten but Souta was still a child and was afraid of certain things especially now that he was in a place he had never been before.

Uh-Un had laid down and Souta sat down leaning against the dragon, he was starting to get very bored. Though finally being able to come to this place was what Souta always wanted but now that he was here deep down he missed home and his mum.

Souta wanted to go back home but he had already tried going back through the well and nothing happened. It was as if he had been blocked some how and that’s why he couldn’t get through.

It sort of worried Souta what if he couldn’t return home then what he has to live here for the rest of his life. Souta needed to talk to Kagome but the only way to do that was to ask Sesshomaru if he could take him back to the village.

Kagome had told him specifically to stay their and not run of anywhere which he obviously had done. Souta had a knack for not always listening that’s how he got into trouble a lot of the time.

Kagome and Inuyasha had returned back to the village and by the look on Kiade’s face something was definitely wrong. “Kiade what’s wrong did something happen” Kagome was feeling a little uneasy.

“I am very sorry Kagome but your little brother has run of I had searched with several of the village men but their was no sign of him” Kiade felt awful. “That brat my goodness, don’t worry Kiade Souta never listens but I’m sure he hasn’t got to far will go look for him”.

So Kagome and the others were of again, Kagome was fuming why couldn’t her brother ever listen. She wasn’t sure were to even start looking but hoping he was alright since this was Souta’s first time being here.

Kagome still wondered how on earth Souta was able to get through the well in the first place. She had always thought it was only her who got but somehow the well had allowed for her little brother to go through something was not right.

In the middle of the forest Souta was beginning to feel hungry since he hadn’t eaten once since he left the village. Souta thought he was going to faint, he needed something to eat and regain some energy.

Sesshomaru and Jaken had finally come back and the green demon was holding a bag. He walked up to Souta and took out an apple and some bread and gave it to the boy. It seemed that during their departure they had brought some food for him.

Sesshomaru had a feeling that Souta would be hungry it didn’t take long for him to finish eating. Souta looked up at Sesshomaru “thankyou for this” they looked at each other for a brief minute before having to leave again.

Souta wanted to go home but he always thought that when he was left alone but the moment Sesshomaru shows up those thoughts leave his head and he starts thinking how he would like to stay with the tall demon for a bit longer.

It was as if Sesshomaru drawed Souta to him like their was a connection which was hard to break. Souta was unsure of Sesshomaru’s intentions since the demon always came to his rescue.

Even at their first meeting when Souta arrived Sesshomaru had come out of no where and saved him. Then once again Sesshomaru came and killed the monster which was about to eat him.

Souta had been saved twice already and even when those demons all attacked him at once. Sesshomaru had ordered Jaken to grab Souta and fly away on Uh-Un you could say that was three times.

It confused the boy greatly and also why Sesshomaru was allowing him to come along. Souta wanted to ask the demon something but it never came out it seemed he sometimes had a bit of trouble speaking to Sesshomaru.

Days went by and the small group came upon a small hill and by the time they reached the top Souta couldn’t believe his eyes. Just at the bottom their was a large white castle Souta’s conscious was telling him that this must be Sesshomaru’s home.

When they reached the castle demons of different kinds were bowing and welcoming their master home. It had already been a year since he had last left the castle to start on his travels watching over his lands.

The servants and soldiers had seen the young boy upon Uh-Un’s back and they twitched their noses because of the human scent. Souta felt a little uncomfortable with so many eyes looking upon him.

He wasn’t sure how society worked between demons and humans since he came from a time which didn’t have demons and scary monsters. Though by the way they were looking at him it seemed they were not pleased.

Once they were inside Souta heard a scream it sounded like a girl and just then a small girl with brunette hair possibly around his own age came running and hugged Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru was patting the girl on the head and smiled it was the first time Souta ever saw him actually smile. The girl then soon noticed Souta and was a little surprised, she had said something to Sesshomaru but Souta couldn’t hear her.

The boy hopped down and just stood next to the dragon he just stayed in that one spot when he was approached by the girl. “Hi my names Rin what’s yours” she had a smile on her face “my names Souta”.

After about two days Souta and Rin had become good friends at least their was now someone who he actually had something in common with they were both human and the same age.

The last time Souta was with a human was quite some time ago now probably about two weeks. Jaken had showed Souta were he would be sleeping why his visit here, the room was incredible.

Souta wasn’t sure now how many times he has thanked Sesshomaru for all the kindness the demon had showed. Both children were outside in the garden picking flowers for the lord of the house.

Rin had told him how important Sesshomaru was and what his role was on these lands. Souta found out the Sesshomaru ruled the western lands and was one of the four lords which was very important among the demon race.

Many times Sesshomaru had left the castle to solve different matters but when he gone Jaken would take over during his absence. The servants had gotten use to the second human after being around Rin for so long they forgotten what a new human scent smelt like.

For some reason not only was Souta given his very own servant but Sesshomaru had also ordered one of his strongest soldiers to be Souta’s guards from any danger. It was the same with Rin she had told Souta it was only for precaution why Sesshomaru was away.

Souta’s servant’s name was Claude and was very nice to him, Souta didn’t really order Claude around at all. Actually Souta helped him do some things since he didn’t like other people doing things for him.

So when Claude was about to make Souta’s bed the boy would help him even when Claude would do his washing. It was kind of strange for the other servants seeing this boy help one of their own doing his job.

Now Souta’s guard was called Hiru, he was apparently one of Sesshomaru’s generals. Hiru wasn’t always around Souta since he had other duties to attend to but he kept his eye on the boy.

If anything happened to Souta, Hiru would be in great trouble of course both demons were very good friends. Hiru would risk his life for Sesshomaru, they knew so much about each other but the one thing Hiru was confused with was why Sesshomaru allowed to human children stay with him.

Sesshomaru had always hated the humans since it was a human which became of his fathers downfall. Though only four years ago Sesshomaru had met Rin when she was only five years old. After meeting her he allowed Rin to come along and now she is living with him in his castle.

Though things were getting even more stranger since Souta arrived, however Hiru had a feeling that this boy probably won’t be staying as long as Rin has. The moment they both met Hiru already knew that Souta was different from the other human child.

For starters the boy’s clothes defiantly proved one thing and another it was the smell of him. It was as if Souta had come from a completely different world were humans smelt a lot different than the humans here.

Mostly every demon in the castle had realised that but never told their lord since he probably already had figured that out himself. Hiru had remembered their was a human girl a priestess which was not from this world.

Maybe in some way this boy had come from the same place she had, though Hiru wasn’t going to question Sesshomaru’s orders. His duty was to watch over Souta until Sesshomaru’s return which would only be in a few more days.

Days went by very quickly for Souta, it was about in the middle of the night when someone had entered his bedroom. Souta was fast asleep so he hadn’t realised the presence of someone entering.

The figure walked up to the bed and looked down at the boy, he grabbed something from inside his coat.
