Umm..Oops?
Kagome climbed out of the well sighing happily. Not only had they returned to the village almost three days early she had managed to get home without fighting with Inuyasha. Granted it was only because Kikyo had come by with her ghostly soul stealers, but she’d take the gift of no anger headaches tonight gratefully.
It was nice to know that even though Inuyasha had ran off again the group and village was relatively safe for the night since Sesshomaru wouldn’t leave Rin only protected by his half brother and a bunch of humans. That was one reason that Kagome liked it when he brought the girl to learn more about being a human female. That he would be close by in case of trouble and her feudal family would be safe while she was away.
Collecting her almost empty back pack and setting her bow and quiver by the well house door she set off for the house looking forward to sleeping in her own bed that night. She was about halfway between the well and the house when she felt the tingle that meant a youkai was nearby and casting lightly with her powers she felt the enormous strength of the jaki coming from her home.
Panicking a little she ran back to the well house and set her bag down and grabbed her bow and an arrow knowing that if she missed with the first one there was no way she’d get the chance to draw a second not against a youkai with that kind of power. Moving as quietly as she could across the shrine grounds to the house she didn’t noticing any suspicious movement.
Her heart filling with fear for her family Kagome opened the door slowly. As quietly as possible she snuck inside the house. Listening closely she heard what sounded like a pain filled moan followed by a low menacing growl coming from the kitchen. Drawing the arrow tight on the bow preparing to shoot as soon as she had a clear shot Kagome moved around the corner into the kitchen quickly taking in the sight of her mother laying back on the table with her dress up around her waist and a male with silver hair bent over her moving back and forth at a quick pace.
Kagome stared for a moment before it registered on her what she was seeing and letting out a loud “EEP!” she dropped her weapon as she turned around quickly. With a frantic scrambling from behind her Kagome heard her mother breathlessly state, “Kagome I didn’t expect you back tonight!”
“I kind of got that Mom.” She replied back with a bit of sarcasm next thing she knew there was a maroon striped hand with claws on her shoulder and a cultured and cold voice stated simply, “Miko, we should talk.”
It had only been a few hours since Kagome had left for her home and everyone was surprised when Shippo let out a yell of “Momma!” and took off. They were more surprised when just as they were exiting Kaede’s hut Shippo ran back in and climbed up onto Miroku’s shoulder shaking. “She’s REALLY mad about something…I’m staying here.” He said.
The group glance out the door just in time to see the miko from the future radiating anger stalk up to the taiyoukai lounging under a tree at the edge of the forest and kick him right between the legs shouting at him, “How could you? She’s my MOTHER! You’d better take care of her or I’ll make sure I purify you to dust if it’s the last thing I do!” With that she kicked him again and stalked off back down the path to the well and just before she disappeared into the shadows of the forest she turned and hollered back, “And don’t think I’ll ever call you Dad!”
Melting into the shadows Kagome left a certain taiyoukai very puzzled and very much in pain.
