Chapter 2
~~~~~
That feeling again, the burning feeling you get in the back of your throat just before you vomit. She was pretty far ahead, he hadn't bothered to catch up, and she entered her home just as he approached the outside of the village. His head pounded as he stood looking around the village. 'Why isn't there any people? This place is so... Empty.' He walked toward the closest hut and looked through the window. 'Empty, I thought this was a village, does she live here alone?'
His stomach turned, his mind was telling him to run away, but he kept on moving toward her hut, he wanted, no, he needed to know why he felt like this. He stepped up to her hut, swallowing hard as he slid open the door. 'This hut, I've been inside of it before.' "Welcome, Inuyasha." She gave him a wide smile and placed a fish over a small stove area in the center of the hut. "I hope you don't mind fish, there's not a lot of animals to catch around here for food." She gave him a playful pout as she washed and sliced some fresh vegetables. "I don't mind." He sat on the ground across from her, laying his sword against his shoulder and crossing his arms.
"Hey Shiori," He began. "Where are all the villagers?" She stopped her cutting for a moment after he said that. "They left." She had her head tilted downward, her voice a whisper. "What do you mean they left?" She started slicing the vegetables again. "They left. To protect themselves." He scratched his head. "Protect themselves from what? I don't see anything dangerous around here." He was taken aback when she laughed quietly.
"They were protecting themselves from me." He cocked his head slightly, not understanding why people would be afraid of her. "After my mother died, they all left. They thought that if she was gone, I might eat them." His head pounded harder, and his vision faded as more memories came to him. He was here, he helped the girl. 'I was here with... Them.'
Inuyasha clutched his head in his hands, his world was spinning and he couldn't make it stop. He heard a loud thud but couldn't open his eyes to see what it was. "Inuyasha? Inuyasha are you okay?" Shiori rushed over to him and shook his shoulders but he couldn't speak. The sounds of Shiori's voice soon faded and he found himself blacking out.
+++++++
'A ceiling?' He was surprised, he hadn't seen one of those for such a long time he had become used to sleeping in trees like he used to, years ago. He sat up and took in his surroundings. The sound of the ocean told him all he needed to know. 'Oh that's right, I was talking to Shiori.' A triangular appendage on the top of his head swiveled and caught the sound of soft humming and footsteps coming his way.
The door slid open and Shiori entered the room, carrying a tray with food on it. "Ah, you're awake!" She set the tray down and kneeled next to him. "You passed out before dinner last night, are you okay?" He nodded at her. "Did you carry me in here by yourself?" She nodded and smiled proudly. "I am half demon after all," She started with a giggle. "But are you alright? I was worried about you, you kept muttering in your sleep and I couldn't understand a word of it." His stomach growled an answer. "Haha, I guess you still haven't eaten, huh? Here, I made something just in case you woke up."
She scooped a spoon full of stew out of the bowl. "Saw ah." She opened her mimiced what she wanted him to do with her own lips. 'Those lips...' His thoughts wandered as he watched her close her mouth, and lick her lips. "Well?" He jumped when she said it. "Oh uh... Ahhhh." She stuffed the spoon into his mouth, smiling. "Good, you need to eat so you can help me catch more fish later."
Shiori continued to feed him until the bowl was empty then left to clean the dishes.She knew Inuyasha was perfectly capable of feeding himself, but she just couldn't pass up the chance. "Hey Shiori?" His only answer was a 'Hmm?'. "I remember everything, now." She smiled at him. "I'm glad." Inuyasha's cheeks tinted pink. "But I still don't understand... Why are you so happy to see me?"
"Huh? Oh. Well, I don't get many visitors, and when I realized it was you of all people that had been walking along my beach every night, I thought I would take the oppurtunity to have some company." She finished washing out the bowls and set them aside before continuing. "Oh, Inuyasha I was wondering. Where's Kagome? Weren't you two... You know...?" Inuyasha turned away from her. "Keh. They died." It was a lie of course, he knew they would still be alive, humans that strong don't just die, but he didn't feel like telling her the truth.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Her blue eyes filled with sadness and she bowed slightly, her long silver hair covering those beautiful eyes. 'Damn, since when did I start using words like that?' He cursed himself for his thoughts.
She wasn't bad looking at all, she had a slender body but not too thin like Kagome had been, and he was glad for that. She wasn't too tall, the top of her head only came up to his chin. She had long, beautiful silver hair, and light blue eyes. 'Those lips again.' They were a light shade of red, and he wondered if she wore that 'lip stick' stuff he heard the girls talking about in the spring one day.
Inuyasha's eyes trailed to the more adult area of her body. She hadn't been blessed with large breasts, as he imagined his hands would be a bit too large for them. 'For fuck's sake what am I thinking?' He turned around and headed for the door to her hut so that she wouldn't notice his eyes wandering. "You said you needed help catching fish right?"
Shiori stood up and met him at the door. "Yupp, let's go catch dinner." She trailed him quickly down the beach by his wrist until they met water. Inuyasha squinted from the sudden change in lightning, the sunlight reflecting off the sand made his eyes sting but Shiori seemed to have no problem with it. The waves ran across their bare feet and he could tell they finally made it to their destination.
"Come on, the fish are further in." She waded further into the salt water until it just about reached her kimono. Inuyasha looked at his fire rat clothing and then back at the water. It was the only thing he had to wear, and he would rather not get it wet. 'What am I worried about, plenty of girls have seen me without it.' With that thought he removed his haori.
He had lost a lot of his tan over the years, he no longer fought hordes of powerful demons, instead found himself only fighting lesser demons in small groups to help villages, or if he was attacked. He no longer had to put up with his clothing being torn to shreds on a weekly basis, and only bathed at night. His now pale back was flawless, the muscles danced with each movement he made and Shiori couldn't help but stare.
It was her turn to blush when Inuyasha took off the rest of his clothing, leaving himself in only a loincloth. He threw his clothes further up on the beach where they wouldn't get wet before facing her. She was furiously splashing about trying to grab a small fish that teased her, swimming in circles around her feet. "Haha, having trouble, wench?" He laughed at her and she puffed her cheeks out slightly in a pout. "It's hard, I'd like to see you try! And don't call me that!"
"Is that a challenge?" He was answered with a splash of water. He growled at her which didn't seem very intimidating when coming from a wet dog. "Fine." He splashed past her, making sure to get her extra wet, then diving in once he got a bit out into the deeper water. Shiori was getting worried when he didn't come up right away, and after what felt like forever, which in reality was only two minutes, he emerged triumphantly with a large fish tucked firmly against his side.
"Told you, this is how you're supposed to catch a fish." He smirked at his victory. One thing Inuy asha could never do, was give up on a challenge. Shiori clapped and bow slightly toward him. "Okay, okay, you win, can we go back now? You got me all wet, I'm freezing." She wrapped her arms around her chest as a wind blew across the beach. He nodded and followed behind her, picking his clothes up on the way back.
"You can leave it by the fire place for now, I need to hang my clothes up to dry." She walked over toward the wall where some wooden hooks were hanging off the wall. Inuyasha set the fish next to the fire and sat down for a moment, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath to relax himself. When he opened his eyes he hadn't expected to see the image before him.
Shiori had removed her kimono and hung it on those hooks, she now kneeled just a few feet in front of him in only her undergarments, a strip of cloth used to tie down what little breasts she had, and her own loin cloth. Inuyasha's jaw dropped as she watched the girl start a fire, and begin cleaning fish he had caught. Her small nipples pressed up against the fabric that was covering them and he gulped.
"H-Hey!" He covered his face and turned away. "Put some clothes on, wench!" He couldn't hear her moving so he peeked from between his fingers, but quickly covered his eyes again when he saw her staring at him. "It's okay if it's just you, right Inuyasha?" She hummed quietly and continued cleaning his catch. "Besides, this is what I do every day, and that kimono is the only one I have. Or is it..." She stopped for a moment and looked up at him. He was still covering his eyes, and she smiled slyly. "Inuyasha, do you not like seeing me like this?"
