It only took them a day to get to Sesshomaru’s palace and when they did Kagome couldn’t stop her jaw dropping, it was enormous! She was looking forward to exploring the place and finding all sorts of different things. As they landed in the courtyard he had to hide a smirk. “So she likes my home” he thought “That is good, I’ll get to show her around. That will give me an opportunity to talk to her.” He then heard a voice that annoyed him anyway but when that voice could be heard yelling about ‘filthy humans’ he decided that it had gone too far. “Jaken!” he yelled “You will cease your prejudice against humans. You would shame me if I had human guests.”
Jaken had frozen at his lord’s voice and then stated as he turned “My lord, you don’t HAVE human guests come over…” He then noticed Kagome standing there and started shaking, knowing his lord was about to punish him. Just because he’d never had human guests before didn’t stop him form having them now. Sesshomaru walked past Jaken and instructed a female servant to show Kagome to a guest room in his wing. Once they had left he turned and said, just loud enough to be heard by Jaken, “If you insult a guest again, ANY guest, I will rip you to shreds!” Sesshomaru then looked at the cowering creature and decided to be sadistic.
A few moments’ later guards on the wall were commenting on the unusual occurrence of seeing a flying frog exiting the palace over the wall. One commented to another “I didn’t know there were flying frogs.” The other stated back “Neither did I.”

When Sesshomaru came to her she was looking around with wonder. “Wow, this room is as big as my whole house back home!” she thought to herself. She then decided to look around and opened every door connected to her room. It turned out one was a dressing room and the other led outside to a hot spring. The pool was surrounded by a hedge and there was only one other door leading to the area. He stood there watching her until she started heading towards that other door. He then spoke up from the door to her room “Do not enter that room” he warned her. She jumped and said “How long have you been standing there Sesshomaru?”
“Long enough” he said “You do not want to enter that door Kagome”
“Why’s that Sesshomaru?” she asked curiously.
“You are not ready for what would happen to you if you entered that room” he said with a glint in his eye that Kagome saw but couldn’t put a finger to.
She looked into his eyes for a moment and before either of them knew what she was doing she ran her fingers over the stripes on the side of his face.
*What am I doing?* she quickly pulled her hand away as if she had touched boiling water. “I’m sorry Sesshomaru, I didn’t mean to touch you without your permission, it’s just that I like your marks and I guess I wasn’t thinking.”
“Do not worry about it Kagome. I do not mind if you wish to touch my markings, as long as we are in private you can touch them as much as you like.” She was shocked to hear this from him but was so happy she touched them again and didn’t notice the small glint of something in his eyes. *One day she will know all of my markings* he thought, smirking *and I will give her a few of her own.*
