Reunited Worlds

Chapter Two:

Kagome approached Inutaisha quietly as she eyed her friend cradling her two three year olds in her arms. "Inutaisha." Kagome said quietly.

"Yes Kagome." Inutaisha replied as she watched Kagome sit next to her.

"Why do you want to go back so soon?"

She sighed, "I don't, I miss you Kagome. You don't know how much." She paused, "You must understand Kagome that no matter how much we miss you, we don't belong here."

Kagome smiled sadly, "I know."

"You're like a sister to me Kagome. I can't forget the good times we had together and how you helped me through my dilemmas. I'll be here for you but my friends and I belong in our world." Inutaisha explained as she looked down at her two children.

"What is it like?" Kagome asked her.

"Hmm?"

"Being a mother."

"It is so wonderful yet annoying too. Ichiro is a mama's boy as Kagoru says. He has an obsession with chewing on my ear and climbing on my head when he plays. Shizuka, however, is a daddy's girl and will go to her father more than me. She knows I love her but she is a daddy's girl."

Kagome laughed, "I saw where Ichiro was biting your ear." She looked at Inutaisha's ears and saw that they had small bite marks in them.

"He's got his fangs so it really hurts when he bites. I guess I shouldn't have allowed him to do it when he was a baby but back then he didn't have many teeth." Inutaisha paused, "So I see you are pregnant."

Kagome smiled at her, "Yes. Will you stay long enough for me to have my child?"

"Of course I will." Inutaisha replied, smiling as she did. "Come. Let's go back and get some food. I think that we can talk over some freshly made ramen."

Kagome smiled at her friend, "Thanks Inutaisha. I do appreciate it so much."

"Kagome, it's no big deal. We're like sisters and sisters look out for each other." Inutaisha said then gently picked up Shizuka and Ichiro and laid one against each shoulder. They slept as Kagome and Inutaisha made their way back to the village and joined their friends.

Ichiro nipped softly on Inutaisha's ear as she gasped from his teeth. "Ichiro. Get down."

Kagoru laughed, "He's a mama's boy."

"Ow. Don't be cute Kagoru. I don't recall going through this stage when I was little."

"Your dad was a human and your mother dead so I don't think you would have gone through such a phase Inutaisha." Kagoru replied.

They all laughed as Inutaisha pulled Ichiro down into her lap and tickled her son. "How have things been for you all since we left?" Kagome asked.

"Well, we've been mostly raising our children. It's been difficult but everything has been going smoothly except for a few bumps here and there. Kagoru finished his education and we were officially married almost a year ago." Inutaisha replied.

"Father wanted to make it official." Kagoru said.

"Right. Anyway, it has been very interesting since you all left. Sessha has been more close with me than ever."

"By the way, where is she?" Kagome asked her.

"She went to see Sesshoumaru. I know she wanted to talk about a place for her two travelers to stay at. She will be back soon." Inutaisha replied as she allowed Ichiro to climb back onto her shoulders.

"I am sure Sesshoumaru will be able to help her tremendously. Knowing him, he will be glad to see her again. They provided each other good company." Inuyasha said as he watched Ichiro pull on Inutaisha's hair. She did not seem to mind as much, he noted.

He was surprised when her son said very bluntly, "Mama, I want to feed."

"I hope you all do not mind. I still nurse my children." Inutaisha said as she opened her hakama then began to pull the top of her kimono down. The males put their hands over their eyes except for Kagoru who was rather used to it by now. She laughed, "Come on now. I'm not going to hurt you for looking. It is a natural part of life."

"I didn't think you could still nurse Inutaisha." Kagome as as she watched Inutaisha gather Ichiro in her arms while he hungrily attached himself to her chest. She covered her other side with her hakama as she looked at Kagome with a smile.

"I thought so myself. However, after the twins turned one year old we wanted to learn a bit more about such a thing. Kagoru took me back to his era and showed me this wonderful device called the comp...comp...what was it Kagoru?"

"The computer." Kagoru answered.

"Right, and on this device there was this tool called the intranet was it?"

"Internet." He replied.

"We did some research and found that children are nursed up until their eighth year because of their different growth stages. It is not done as much in your time, but I told Kagoru that I wanted to. He didn't disagree with me. Maybe you should think about it Kagome."

"I will."

"So what do you think you are having?"

"Ahh. I am not for sure. I plan to go and get an ultrasound back in my world." Kagome told Inutaisha as she smiled at the thought of having a child.

"I bet you are so excited."

"My goodness. Two pregnant females, it is very interesting." Miroku said as he looked at his counterpart who was smiling.

"Yes. We will definitely have our hands full." Inutaisha said. "Let's hope we won't have any problems like the last time we had children come into the world."

Kagoru nodded in agreement then watched as Inutaisha let Ichiro crawl back up on her back and she put her kimono and hakama back in place. "Let's have a good time tonight."

"Right. It will be a while before we can have another night like this." Inuyasha said.

The moon shone down on the hut where they slept. Inutaisha lay with Ichiro and Shizuka in her arms as Kagoru laid beside them, his arm over her stomach as he slept silently. Inutaisha looked up at the ceiling, something bothered her now that she could think without the interruptions of the others. 'Did Kimi come through with us?' She asked herself. However, she did not think that was what worried her. There was something else in the air, hovering like a black cloud. 'Naraku and Naraka.' She thought suddenly. But it was impossible. They had died, she had made certain of that herself.

She narrowed her eyes at the ceiling, but what if they came back? What if Kagome had accidently done something to make them come back? She looked at Ichiro and Shizuka who were sleeping quietly in her arms. She could not allow her babies to be hurt by anyone. Especially by those two villians. Inutaisha looked down at her babies again. No, she would never allow anyone to hurt them. They were part of her and she had carried them nine months. They were part of her and her family. 'Mother, Father, give me a sign here.' She thought then closed her eyes and fell asleep.
