Why the Dog Howls At The Moon

Anaminé woke up the next morning with her head feeling like it had been split open she swore at herself for drinking when she knew she had school this morning. She looked at her bed side table and saw a bottle of water and a bottle of aspirin that he father had left for her for in the morning. She grabbed the water and the aspirin and swallowed two of the aspirin and chased it with a big gulp of water. She slowly but surely got a shower and got dressed in her school uniform. She made her way down stairs and sat at the breakfast table where her mother sat a plate down in front of her.

“Did you enjoy the movie sweet heart?” Her mother asked

Anaminé looked at her father who sat across from her reading the paper; obviously he had not told her that she hadn’t gone to a movie. Anaminé smiled and nodded.

“Yeah we did.” Anaminé said as she ate.

She was just finishing breakfast when Bankotsu drove up to her house; he was giving her a ride today since her car was in the shop getting a tune up. She gave both her parents kisses as she left for school the both wished her a good day as she put her shoes on and went out the door. She got into Bankotsu’s car and turned the music off.

“Hey what’s that for” Bankotsu asked as she pulled out of the drive way

“Because if you leave it on ill kick your ass at Kenjutsu practice today.” Anaminé said laying her head against the glass of the car window.

“That’s what you get for drinking so much last night” Bankotsu said with a laugh as he drove to school

“Be quite Bankotsu you have no room to talk you get hammered 3 times a week to the point where you passed out at the club and one of your brothers had to drive you home.” Anaminé said looking at Bankotsu out of the corner of her eye.

Bankotsu gave a nervous laugh.

When Bankotsu parked Anaminé grabbed her bag and got out of the car. Anaminé began to walk into the school.

“Tell the others I’ll see them in class. I’m going to get a bottle of water and crash at my desk untill the bell rings” Anaminé called back

As Anaminé walked threw the hallway she could hear a lot of the other students whisper about her. Upon meeting her you think she would be popular but that wasn’t the case many of the students both humans and demons alike talked about her. This was due to the face of her being a demon but she had no demon powers or qualities besides pointed ears her claws and the fact that she had the sensitive hearing but other than that she had nothing nor markings or anything. She tried her best just to ignore them when she was younger it hurt her it still got to her some times but she did her best just to ignore it. She walked up to a Soda machine and put in a dollar and pushed the button for a bottle of water when she saw Sesshomaru out of the corner of her eye

“What do you want Sesshomaru” Anaminé asked in a irrataive voice

“Here you must address me as Mr. Taisho I was just getting a bottle of water and found you here.” Sesshomaru said with a smirk

“I’m surprised you at school after everything you had to drink last night” Sesshomaru added

Anaminé bent down and got her bottle of water “what do you think this is for Mr. Taisho, and I’m not like all my friends just because I got smashed on a school night doesn’t mean I wont show up for class the next day unlike Kouga and Hiten and on occasion Bankotsu you of all people should know that considering you have known me since I was a baby.” Anaminé said rather defensively

Sesshomaru raised an eye brow at her attitude towards him.

She began to walk away but turned around and walked back to him “Anyways I don’t know why you would even be paying attention to how much I was drinking last night. When ever you show up at The Dragons Den you normally have your stupid martini or a line margarita and if you happen to be courting someone you will dance with her once or twice but other than that you ignore everyone in that entire building so untill you start courting me or something that’s when you have a right to comment on how much I drink. Having that said I have to go to my locker befor my first class good day Mr. Taisho” Anaminé said rather aggravated at Sesshomaru

Sesshomaru chuckled inside she was a spit fire that young girl was the only one other than his brother and father that stood up to him. She was the only woman that would talk to him in that manner. It both bothered him and intrigued him at the same time.

Anaminé sat in her third period class thinking about Sesshomaru watching her and how it infuriated her that he had been watching her that night she didn’t know why probably because it seemed he kept blowing off her advances but yet he still watched her. What was she just some eye candy for him or something. Was it because she wasn’t as powerful as her father or mother because she was more or less a human trapped in a demons body. A low growl escaped her throat. She snapped out of her thoughts when the teacher called her.

“Miss. Sano the principle would like to see you out in the hallway with your things.” The teacher said.

Everyone let out the usual O’s when someone was called out of the calls room. Anaminé gathered her things and figured Sesshomaru had probably turned her in for talking disrespectfully. Anaminé walked out side and stood in front of the Principle the school counselor and two cops.

“What’s going on, what have I done for the cops to be here?” Anaminé asked looking at them.

“Miss Sano something has happened and we can either go back to my office or stay right here but if we stay here I must ask that you keep it down due to other classes.” The Principle spoke

“What has happened? What’s going on here?” Anaminé asked getting suspicious

The Principle cleared his throat.

“You parents where involved in an incredibly bad car accident….” One of the cops began to say

Anaminé’s eyes widened “What No! I don’t believe you!” She exclaimed


“Please Miss Sano keep it down.” The Principle said

Sesshomaru heard the commotion out in the hallway and knew the female voice to be Anaminé’s. He told his class to continue working and that he would be right back. He walked out of the room and over to the little group of people he could smell salty tears being formed in Anaminé’s eyes as the group of people talked to her.

“What is going on out here? My class is finding it hard to work” Sesshomaru asked

Anaminé looked at Sesshomaru “They won’t tell me where they are!”

“Where who are” Sesshomaru asked

“Please Mr. Taisho this situation dose not involve you we will be done here in a minute so please return to your class.” The Principle said

“Sesshomaru they said my parents have been in a car accident and they wont tell me where they are” Anaminé said to him as a tear ran down her cheek.

“Principle Takashi I am a very close family friend of hers so please tell me what has happened and I can deal with her accordingly.” Sesshomaru said

“It is against school policy” The principle said.

Anaminé clutched her fist and squeezed her eyes shut as tears forced their way down her cheek. Sesshomaru could feel very faint pulses of power come form her.

“Tell me where my parents are!” Anaminé demanded.

The cops sighed and one of them said “they have been taken to Tokyo general”

Upon hearing this Anaminé sprinted threw the hallways out of the school doors and began to run to the hospital. She might not have had demon like speed but she was a very fast runner.

Sesshomaru turned to the Principle “get someone to cover my classes.”

He then ran out of the school to his car while calling his father telling him to get to the hospital he would explained when he got there.

Anaminé made it to the hospital and ran in Suikotsu who was interning at the hospital came out of one of the trauma rooms to see if someone had notified anyone at the school about Anaminé’s parents yet when he saw Anaminé run in. He ran to her.

“Anaminé…..” Suikotsu began

“Where are my parents?!” Anaminé demanded

“Follow me to the waiting room” Suikotsu said solemnly

“No Where are they!” Anaminé said knowing Suikotsu was trying to keep her from them.

“You should sit down Anaminé” Suikotsu said trying to get her to sit down

Anaminé pushed past him and ran to the doors where Suikotsu had come out of and she saw her mother laying there as they began to unhook the breathing machine from her and turning a machine off that showed her heart had stopped. Suikotsu walked up behind her.

“She just died the doctors tried desperately to save her but there was too much internal bleeding we couldn’t stable her to get her up to the OR.” Suikotsu said standing behind her.

She ran to the room next to it and saw them working on her father she ran in and over to his side. He was already intabated and they where starting to shock him. The doctors yelled for someone to get her out of here. Suikotsu came in and said he would do it knowing about her sharp claws and not knowing if demon instincts would kick in with her or not he approached her calmly. Anaminé placed a hand on her father’s forehead and stroked his hair after they shocked him as tears ran down her face as she spoke.

“Daddy don’t leave me, Please daddy open your eyes.” Anaminé pleaded to her father’s deaf ears.

Suikotsu placed a hand on her back and wrapped a hand around her arm and slowly pulled her away. “Come on Anaminé you need to get out of the doctors way.”

She fought some but Suikotsu was able to pull her out of the room as she called for her father tears streaming down her face. Sesshomaru ran in seeing Suikotsu pull Anaminé out of the room. He walked over to them.

“Anaminé….” Sesshomaru spoke in with strong voice

Anaminé looked over at him tears running down her face. It was a few moments later when Inu Taisho and his wife Izayoi ran in. As they came in the made their way to their son and saw Anaminé with and intern they knew as one of their sons friends older brothers Suikotsu.

All of them heard the doctor call the time of death on Anaminé’s father. She fell to her knees with a loud scream.

“NOOOO!!!” Anaminé screamed suddenly a large pulse of energy came from her body. Only Inu Taisho and Sesshoamru where able to feel this due to them being demons. Sesshomaru found this odd knowing she had pretty much no demonic power. Anaminé turned to Inu Taisho who now stood by his Son.

“Please Bring them back use tenseiga on them bring back my parents mi’lord” Anaminé begged Inu Taisho as she looked up at him from the floor with tears running down her face.

Inu Taisho’s heart broke for the girl that he had seen grow up sit in front of him in tears begging him to bring her beloved parents back. He knelt down in front of her and placed a hand on her cheek.

“Anaminé I’m sorry but your parents have already been revived long ago by tenseiga I can not bring them back.” Inu Taisho spoke softly to her.

Anaminé’s head dropped as her eyes closed again and tears continued to fall to the tiled floor.

“No…” she cried softly

Suikotsu knelt down next to her “do you want to say one last good bye befor they take your parents bodies away.”

Anaminé nodded Suikotsu helped her up and walked with her in first to her mother.

Inu Taisho stood watching her as his wife held onto his right arm. Her motherly instincts had caught on and all she wanted to do was hold and rock the girl untill she stopped crying even though the girl was not hers. Sesshomaru stood to his fathers left.

“So the time is coming” Inu Taisho spoke softly.

“What do you mean father” Sesshomaru asked

“I will explain later, Sesshomaru we are going to take her back to our house with us please join us at the house there are some things that we need to discuss.” Inu Taisho said

Sesshomaru nodded.

It was several moments befor Anaminé came back out. Izayoi walked over to the girl warping her arms around the still crying girl.

“Come with us Anaminé you can stay with us.” Izayoi said tenderly to the young girl.
Anaminé nodded knowing that Izayoi was very kind and would not think any le3ss of her if she just stood there and cried.
