For the Holidays

Sesshoumaru led the pack by pulling Inuyasha by some of his long silver hair like a leash to make sure the pup didn’t run off.

“You had to refuse to wear shoes Inuyasha. Why do you make me do these things? When we get home things are going to change.”

Sango sighed. It was the same as always. Sesshoumaru was badgering Inuyasha into changing and Inuyasha constantly battling Sesshoumaru since he wanted to be a rebel. Inuyasha wanted to join a rock band in the future and no longer be a Prince related to the jerk of the universe.

“I hate shoes! They are only for wimps and commies.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha.

“What the hell is a commie?”

Inuyasha was going to tell him it was a tyrant like Sesshoumaru was to him, but that was being nice. Sesshoumaru didn’t deserve that much credit.

“A politician, you wouldn’t understand. It is something from the future.”

Sesshoumaru stopped and looked at Inuyasha’s cold feet.

“You are an idiot. You are going to lose your feet some day. You are lucky you are a half demon or you wouldn’t be alive right now. If I didn’t make a promise to Father you wouldn’t be.”

Inuyasha started mocking Sesshoumaru in a winey voice.

“If I didn’t make a promise I wouldn’t be a big asshole.”

Sesshoumaru clocked Inuyasha good for that one then after knocking him out threw his little brother over his shoulder letting his hair drag in the snow. Inuyasha would have icicle hair until they got to the castle.

“Why do you torment your brother Sesshoumaru?”

Rin asked softly. Kagome explained since she was a big sister.

“Siblings do that Rin and apparently demons are just meaner than humans are to their family members. Inuyasha is used to this so don’t worry, he always gets Sesshoumaru back later on.”

Sesshoumaru stopped and looked daggers at Kagome.

“Young woman, you have no idea what you are talking about. I was kind to my little brat brother. He is lucky he still lives and he will not ever get me back because he owes me.”

Turning back around the group trudged behind the silent pissed off demon Lord afraid to speak again for the rest of the trip. Sesshoumaru was not known to be the calmest person if you pissed him off. In fact he would just kill you and then calmly walk away. That was his way of dealing with problems.

Reaching the castle took a good half an hour and Kouga was freezing. His normal black hair was rather white and matched most of the group. Sesshoumaru’s hair was always whitish silver so he kind of blended in so they couldn’t fall behind or they would get completely lost. The only thing that stood out was the still unconscious little red hanyou hanging over his shoulder.

When they got inside Sesshoumaru put his brother by the fire amused at the ice that made Inuyasha’s hair stand on end making him look like a lucky troll doll that Kagome brought for Rin. All he needed was his shirt off with a little jewel in his belly. Then he could just give Rin Inuyasha instead of a damn flower. How the hell was he going to find one around here?

“So are you going to throw coal at him here or what? We would really like to get on with our Christmas plans Sesshoumaru.”

Kagome stated as she sat by the fire warming her hands.

“You are going to my maids and the same with Sango. I will not have the two of you wandering about in the cold in such flimsy attire no matter what these idiots want you to do. Consider it my Christmas gift to you since none of you are going to leave my sight again. I am sick of saving your idiot asses every time you get into trouble so you are now my pack. When Inuyasha wakes up this will be his Christmas present since he owes me for all the times I have saved all of you.”

Sango frowned.

“Kagome isn’t from our time so that won’t work.”

Kagome nodded and Sesshoumaru stood up.

“Neither of you will leave my sight. Obviously your men do not know how to care for you and these idiots have no idea how to care for themselves. If we go to your time so be it, but you are not leaving my sight.”

Sango looked at Kagome then both women looked at Sesshoumaru.

“You are not going to be a pervert and watch us dress too.”

Kagome stated as Sango whispered this in her ear.

“I have no interest unless that is your desire.”

Sesshoumaru stated with a smirk knowing this would irritate more than just the girls. It definitely woke up Inuyasha.

“That is my woman you are talking about you creep!”

Inuyasha stated standing up only to make the whole room fall over laughing. His hair was standing on end and he did in fact look like a lucky troll doll with silly dog ears.

Sesshoumaru shooed everyone away and sat with Inuyasha not allowing him to fix his hair. It would fall back on its own and this was amusing. Rin was in Inuyasha’s lap happy as can be and Sesshoumaru was trying really hard not to bust up laughing. This was better than throwing coal at his brother.

“So what is your plan you jerk? You are going to lock us all up or something?”

Inuyasha stated and Sesshoumaru got up smiling. He had something in his hand. It was the damn jewel after he had destroyed Naraku from the inside out.

“Maybe, I think I have a better idea of what I want for Christmas. Rin needs a Mommy and you are the only other Inu demon left other then my Mother. So guess what Inuyasha, you are not going to be my little brother anymore and you will be a demon. See we both get what we want. How do you like that?”

If Inuyasha’s eyes could bug out of his head they would have. Sesshoumaru was still not sure if he wanted to do this, but he kept looking at that crazy hair. Inuyasha would make a terrific woman and he acted like one most of the time anyway. Always whimpering about something, never on time, always a pain in his ass, and he was too pretty to be a man anyway.

Inuyasha was also still innocent to many things and that included his demon side. It would be interesting if nothing else and he would be still continuing his vow to his Father. Kouga could have what he wanted, Miroku could have the slayer, and he could take Shippo since Shippo was a demon. The pup should be raised by demons.

“You wouldn’t do that. You hate me remember! Please Sesshoumaru, you can throw things at me all you want, drag me in the snow, and take my damn left arm if you want to.”

Sesshoumaru smirked.

“No, I want this and you don’t deserve Kagome. You don’t deserve to be a man when you don’t act like one. It is fine and you will see I am not that terrible. Plus you get to keep Shippo and Rin.”

Inuyasha backed up into the corner and his hair was now wet flat on his back still sticking up in a few places. Sesshoumaru advanced and then made his wish. When he was done he crushed the jewel in his hand letting the dust blow into the fireplace. It was done. By morning Inuyasha would be something else and it was nothing new for the kid who was always something different at least once a month.

“What did you do to him? I know the mutt face is a pain in the ass, but you don’t have to be that cruel Sesshoumaru.”

Kouga stated as he saw Inuyasha passed out on the floor and noticed there was a problem. Inuyasha was no longer a boy, but a young beautiful girl.

“I mean her. Wow, I would have never guessed the mutt could be prettier then he was. He was always a big mouth pretty boy in my eyes.”

Sesshoumaru looked down at his little demon sister.

“Well he is going to really hate me in the morning. So do we have a deal Kouga?”

Kouga was having a hard time now. He wanted Kagome, but hell. If he had known how hot Inuyasha was going to be as a demon girl he wouldn’t have been so hasty.

“Ummmmm, you think we could share?”

Sesshoumaru picked up his sister.

“No. Now do we have a deal? I don’t want to hear you whimpering about Ayame leaving you this time so you can have Kagome. We agreed and so now you can take her to your pack. I am not dealing with that woman in my home for too much longer. I am stuck with the damn Monk and the rest of Inuyasha’s pack. I am not stuck with you.”

Kouga sighed and looked at Inuyasha.

“He……..I mean she is my friend though…….one of my best friends. I can’t believe I agreed to do this crap and on Christmas.”

Sesshoumaru smiled at Kouga.

“Don’t worry about it wolf. Inuyasha will be well taken care of for the rest of her life and no longer getting beat the hell out of. You want what is best for her don’t you?”

Kouga sighed.

“Yeah, I know. Still don’t just take off with her and not let us see each other again.”

Sesshoumaru nodded and told Rin to go to bed or Santa wouldn’t come with her flowers. Hell he had to find some soon too. Kagome had that future time travel through the well. Maybe she had a way of getting something.

Inuyasha was carried upstairs to her new room and tucked in. Sesshoumaru wasn’t a cad. He would not romance his little half sister until she flipped out a few times on him. It wouldn’t be any fun.

Kagome came out of her room and got lost in the big castle. It took a good hour to find her and when they did she didn’t look like Kagome any more. She was elegant and beautiful. Kouga couldn’t keep his mouth from falling open.

“Kouga you are going to catch flies in there if you don’t shut it.”

Miroku stated after he finally shook his head from the image. Sango looked just as beautiful and this was to be their wedding day. Sesshoumaru had set up all the arrangements. Bad part was Kagome had no clue this was hers too and of course there was the brat upstairs. Inuyasha woke up pounding on the door demanding Sesshoumaru’s head on a platter.

“Kagome, you look beautiful. Amazing……….wow.”

Kouga stated and got on one knee opening a box with a ring after Sesshoumaru made him dress in his proper role. They had brought his black armor over just for this occasion. Kouga and Sesshoumaru had been planning this for months.

“Kouga I am flattered……….but I am Inuyasha’s…………..”

That was all that came out before an angry still hanyou Princess came flying down the stairs with her hair half done and her kimono tied like the red fire rat robes since she only wanted to be dressed enough to go kill her brother.

“Inuyasha…………what the……………”

Sango stated as her jaw dropped. Miroku not realizing this was Inuyasha rushed up to the beautiful girl taking both her clawed hands.

“Would you do me the honor of bearing one hundred of my children…………”

Miroku was in awe, he didn’t know Sesshoumaru had a gorgeous little sister. Sango punched Miroku in the face and dragged him away.

“Miroku you ass it is me Inuyasha and if you ever ask me to do that again I will kill you! Sesshoumaru where is the fucking jewel so you can change me back! You had your Christmas laugh and your fun so do it you asshole!”

Sesshoumaru smirked at his sister.

“Now that is no way to talk to your future mate is it?”

Inuyasha frowned and then marched over doubling up her fists letting them fly as Sesshoumaru held her arms laughing.

“I am going to rip your snobby face off you ass! This ain’t funny!”

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru and then at Inuyasha. She had this horrible sinking feeling.

“You destroyed it didn’t you Sesshoumaru.”

She whispered out. Inuyasha’s face dropped and Sesshoumaru pulled that face close to his.

“I need a mate, you need a mate, there are only two of us Inu’s left. The solution has been found. Merry Christmas, little sister. You are no longer going to be tormented by me even though the spell did not work fully. You are now a Queen and have my power along with yours. So shut up and go get dressed like a good little girl.”

Kagome felt tears come, but then she smiled. Inuyasha had not really been very serious in their relationship and what kind of future would he have in her time? He really didn’t fit in there and Kouga was much more responsible. He was older and ready for a mate. Kagome’s school work was suffering and it was best for her to stay here. With Inuyasha there was no stability, but with Kouga there was and he had always claimed to love her.

“Kouga I accept, but we have to go see my Mother first.”

Inuyasha’s jaw dropped.

“Kagome……..how could you……….”

Sango stood forward and hugged Kagome.

“It is the right thing to do. Inuyasha, you loved Kikyo and that really hurt Kagome. You don’t know what you want and you are too young a demon to know. Sesshoumaru is best for you.'
"Miroku and I wish to be married. We will all grow older then you and die sooner. Kouga understands this, but you couldn’t handle it. I am sorry Inuyasha, but this is for the best.”

Inuyasha ran from the room up to the bedroom sobbing. It wasn’t fair damn it all.

“He………I mean she will be fine. Now Kouga do you wish to do this now or are you going to court Kagome properly like we discussed?”

Sesshoumaru stated ignoring Inuyasha’s tantrum. She would be fine and get over it.

“Yes. We can do that. I think dressed like this he will fit in better. The fur kilt is cute, but it just won’t work in my time.”

Kouga smirked and went to carry Kagome off to the well when Sesshoumaru stopped them.

“I need a favor on top of our other plans. Do you know where I can get a flower for Rin this time of year? I also want to get some for Inuyasha. It is the least I can do.”

Sesshoumaru stated softly. Kagome smiled since she knew of one. There was a very special flower that was just for this season.

Kagome, Kouga, and Sesshoumaru went to the bone eater’s well leaving the others at the castle. Between the monk and the demon slayer, they would be able to calm his soon to be mate down explaining much more than he ever could. Miroku was wise for one so young and Sango would keep him in line from groping his mate since that would keep Miroku alive.

“Inuyasha was the only one who could pass through without the jewel. I don’t know if we can do this without him.”

Kagome stated a bit worried.

“I will be going with you both since the power of this well was through my family and therefore I should be able to bring us back.”

Sesshoumaru stated firmly. Then the three of them jumped in and traveled to Kagome’s time. When they arrived both men covered their ears with all the noise. It smelled bad and there were so many new sounds. How could Inuyasha stand this place with his sensitive nose and ears?

“It gets better guys. Inuyasha filtered it out and he loved it once he got used to things here.”

Kouga and Sesshoumaru stepped forward only to have an elderly man run screaming demon and rush back putting a useless sutra on them yelling ‘demon be gone’.

“This must be your Grandfather Kagome?”

Kouga stated with a smirk since Inuyasha had told him about the wry old man. The guy had way too much energy and was full of spit and fire.

“Grandfather this is Prince Kouga and Inuyasha’s older brother Lord Sesshoumaru.”

Kagome stated and rolled her eyes.

“Grandpa, please don’t give them any of your ancient relics either. They probably already own them.”

Kagome’s Mother came out of the house with her little brother after hearing her Father yelling at a demon. She was concerned until she saw Kagome was outside with two young demon men she had heard about although she didn’t much care for the taller man who looked like Inuyasha. That man was no one to mess with and she was a bit nervous having him near her home.

“Mom, this is Lord Sesshoumaru and my fiancé Prince Kouga. He just asked me to marry him.”

Kagome stated all aglow with her Mother looking at them all like they lost their minds.

“Kagome you are not out of school yet so that is out of the question. Still come in young man and you Lord Sesshoumaru are also welcome.”

She bowed to the demon Lord as was proper to do and he in turn acknowledged her. Then he followed them inside the large home. He agreed that Kagome’s schooling was more important, but he was not going to argue with Kouga. That was between them now.

“What happened to Inuyasha Kagome? Wasn’t he your boyfriend or did you just forget about him?”

Kagome sighed not wanting to explain things and felt bad in the first place about it all.

“Inuyasha is no longer a guy Mom. I can’t have him as my boyfriend.”

Kagome’s Mother about dropped her dishes she was putting away.

“I assume this has to do with the jewel?”

Sesshoumaru sat back and looked at the woman before answering.

“Yes it does and no he cannot be her mate because he is a she now.”

Kagome’s Mother’s hands turned into fists.

“That is not right. After everything that boy has done for all of you, this is not acceptable.”

Sesshoumaru lifted an eyebrow at that comment.

“Obviously you have some explaining to do Kagome. I will let you do that later. I have business to attend to. You said there is a flower that grows during this time of year. Where do I pick them?”

Kagome stopped Sesshoumaru.

“No, I have to buy them. I will be back ok Mom? They have to stay here. No one will understand and I promise I will explain everything when I get back.”

Kagome’s Mom nodded, but was not too pleased with having two full demons invading her home. It was hard enough having to accept Inuyasha’s wild entrances, but she loved Inuyasha. He was adorable and such an innocent young boy.

“You may stay until she gets back. Kouga, will you come with me since I require more information about the man who wishes to marry my daughter.”

Kouga nodded and stood up walking outside with Kagome’s Mother. Sesshoumaru got up from the big table and walked into the living room where the boy was doing something interesting on a box with pictures. He had a strange control in his hands he was pushing on.

“What is that you are doing child?”

Sesshoumaru stated softly to the boy who ignored him for a second then answered.

“It is an X Box and it is a game. Want to play? You can’t be rough like Inuyasha or you will break the controller. He broke two of them already.”

Sesshoumaru watched as Souta explained how to do this. Then they played with Sesshoumaru really getting into it figuring this toy out. It was wonderful and he was damn good. Souta smiled since he had not played long with Inuyasha due to his temper and this guy was fun. Sesshoumaru was very articulate and polite unlike Inuyasha who would growl. That was funny as hell though and he missed Inuyasha a lot.

When they were done Souta sat with Sesshoumaru on the couch.

“So Inuyasha is a girl now. I bet he hates that. I know I would.”

Sesshoumaru tried not to laugh since the boy was funny and honest.

“Yes, you are right, he despises it. Still it is how things must be for our species to live. I am an Alpha. He is the youngest of our people’s royal line so he had to take the fall. If it were the other way around I would be female. It is the only way we can repopulate our kind.”

Souta sighed as he put his hands behind his head.

“He was really too pretty to be a guy, but that is ok. He will still be funny and always be Inuyasha no matter what. Just sucks you did it on Christmas. Why would you do that? Do you really hate him that much?”

Sesshoumaru sighed.

“No, it was the last time I could make a wish. The jewel had to be destroyed and I had to finish it. It was the final wish and this being the final month it was what I had to do. Christmas is the most spiritual and magical days of the year. The powers of our people are also stronger on this day. It was a necessary evil as the humans would say.”

Souta smiled and laughed.

“I wonder if Inuyasha still has those ears. You didn’t change that did you?”

Souta stated with an angry look. He loved Inuyasha as his hero and those ears were what made Inuyasha so cool.

“No, I didn’t remove those silly dog ears of his. That I believe is impossible. Inuyasha will always be a silly eared brat.”

Kagome came back with her arms full of potted plants. They were beautiful red things with full leafy green stems.

“Those are perfect. I have not seen their like in our time.”

Sesshoumaru stated getting up looking at the flowers Rin will be putting in her hair on Christmas morning.

“They are called Poinsettias. Beautiful aren’t they? So how many days will Kouga and I be staying here? I know you have to get back and I will be going to school for at least a few more months before graduation.”

Sesshoumaru smirked a bit after taking two of the pots of flowers leaving the third for Kagome’s family for their hospitality. With all the jewels he left on their table, it should more then pay for anything they needed to buy in this time.

“I will come for you after the New Year. That should give Kouga time to get to know your family and for them to feel comfortable with him. He is not that different from Inuyasha so they should get along quite well. Just make sure he isn’t too rough with the controller to your brother’s X box. My brother apparently caused problems for your family before I changed him so this should pay for the damages. Inuyasha cannot seem to touch anything without blowing it up.”

Kagome smiled and laughed.

“That is true. Just tell him……….I mean her that I still will love her just as she is. I always will. She was more of my best friend then my boyfriend when she was a boy. This is so weird. We will all get used to it eventually though. I just hope Kouga can handle my just being a human.”

Sesshoumaru shrugged.

“It is Christmas time. You never know what might happen.”

The markings were already there. After all, a promise was a promise.
