Chapter Two
Welcome Guardian
When Kagome awoke she was no longer in that white room nor was she at home or in the feudal era. ‘This place even smells different’ Kagome thought as she sat up from her position on the floor. Kagome had no idea where or when she was. Was she closer to her time or further away? Questions she would like answered, but knew could not be at least not for some time.
‘So here I am stranded alone in a place I have never been and I don’t even know what I am up against.’ Kagome thought as she stood up then looked to the sky ‘same blue sky and white fluffy clouds.’ “Well enough of that! I will not get any where unless I move.” Kagome said to herself as she decided where she wanted to go.
Kagome walked through the forest hoping to make it somewhere soon. The forests here were just as thick as in the feudal era, so she was moving at a slow pace hoping to at least find some sort of village before nightfall. She did not have any of her supplies and Kagome did not want to sleep on the forest ground without a blanket at least.
The sounds of clashing metal and grunts of pain could be heard echoing through the forest and as they met Kagome’s ears she stopped to listen. ‘It’s close’ she thought as she dashed towards a nearby tree and looked around it.
There were 9 people that she could see, but something was wrong. 7 of them looked to be in great pain, but no one was touching them. “What is going on?” Kagome asked herself in a low whisper not expecting anyone to actually hear her. That was went she seen it the faint line of a mind link, the very same thing that happens when Naraku takes control of someone and Kagome gasps in realization.
“Shit!” Kagome said as she watched one of the 2 men still standing just disappears. ‘They heard me I know it’ she thought as she places her hand on the hilt of her sword.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you” someone from behind her said and she stiffened as she felt a dagger like knife placed at her throat.
Kagome laughs nervously “haha how do I get myself in these situations” she said out loud to herself as the man behind her gripped her shoulder and moved her foreword.
“Hey Itachi-san look what I found hiding behind a tree” the man said as he walks forward pushing Kagome along with the kunai still at her throat.
The man now identified as Itachi turned to look at the new comer. He did not care who she was or what she was doing she was going to die with the rest of them and they would take the Jinchuriki once everyone was dead.
He however was not ready for the shock he was about to receive.
Kagome watches as the man turns to look at her and she gasps once she sees his eyes. They were unlike anything she had ever seen. The incessant nudging at the back of her mind told her that he was using his eyes to control them. ‘I need to get away from the guy holding me before I can help the others’ Kagome thought as she allowed her sense to tell her if the guy in front of her was even a human. It was then that she felt the faint pull of Youki. The man behind her held demon blood however it was only a little ‘all I need is a little’ Kagome thought as she allowed her powers to break free of its bindings while addressing the red eyed man in front of her as a distraction so the man behind her does not realize what it is she was doing until it was too late. “Your mind tricks will not work on me” Kagome said in a confident tone as the red eyed mans eyes widened in shock.
‘How?’ was the only thing he could think as he watched the link he was attempting to make in her mind just disappeared as if it was never there. “That was a nice trick you did, but I am sorry to say it will not be enough.” His cold hard voice sounded across the distance between them.
‘I am ready’ Kagome thought with a smirk ‘oh how I love proving pompous assholes wrong’ “And what are you to do? Have the hanyou holding me slit my throat?”
“Who you calling hanyou!” the man from behind her demanded pulling her hair “and yes that is exactly what he meant.” He said as he pressed the kunai to her throat but it did not produce the faint line of blood he was expecting.
“Really one would think you would have noticed by now.” Kagome laughed “A hanyou such as yourself could never hope to break the barrier I had placed over my skin. You are already dead you just don’t know it yet.” And with that Kagome lifted her hand to the hand holding the kunai to her throat.
“AHHH!” the man yelled as his skin bubbled and burned. He yanked his arm away from her and jumped away not to get touched by her again. “What kind of jutsu was that!” he shouted to the girl.
Kagome looked at the man and now that she was actually able to see him she wished she hadn’t. “Man I have seen some ugly hanyou in my day, but man you sure are the ugliest.”
“Bitch” the blue shark man screamed ready to charge at her with his sword.
“As interesting as this is I am afraid you have interrupted something of importance so we will have to be killing you now.” Itachi said in a disinterested tone as he pulled out a few kunai.
Kagome lifted a brow “and how would you do that if you are unable to move?” Kagome asked as she willed a purifying barrier to surround both men individually.
As the pink barrier surrounded the two Itachi’s eyes widened in shock as the other links he had already established were broken and gone as if never there. “How did you do that” he demanded as he attempted to hit the barrier burning his hand at the same time.
Kagome could tell that the people behind her started stirring but she paid them no mind as she concentrated on maintaining the barrier. “Look at that. You are human yet my barrier harms you. I wonder how painful it would be for you if I was to purify you?” Kagome said with a curious tilt of her head.
“Who are you?” someone from behind her asked and she turned to see a silver haired man beginning to stand.
“I am just someone who happened to be at the right place at the right time to help” Kagome replied as she turned back towards her captures. The shark mans movement caught her attention and as she looked to him she saw him unsheathing a huge weird sword.
“This thing won’t keep me prisoner for long I will just suck up the chakra from your shield!” he exclaimed as he made a move to slash at the barrier.
Kagome laughed again “My barriers are not made of this chakra thing. My Barriers are made out of something totally different and it has but one goal. To purify youkai or tainted objects so go head and hit my shield with your tainted weapon the only thing it would accomplish is hurting your sword.”
The shark man growled at Kagome, but slashed his weapon at the barrier anyway. The sounds of sizzling could even be heard outside of the barrier as the scales of the sword succumbed to her purity.
Kagome turned to the red eyed man “now what to do with you now that I have caught you?”
“You will let him go”
