--------------------Ch. 2 - Finding K-Kagome?

It was very quite around the campfire as everyones thoughts were on Kagome, in one way or another.

The campfire began to flicker slightly and so absently, his thoughts somewhere else, Miroku added another couple of twigs to keep it going. 'I wonder if Lady Kagome will be back from her bath soon? Maybe I should... "check" on her.' A decidedly lecherous grin spread across his handsome face, as violet eyes began to twinkle mischievously.

Catching the suspicious grin Miroku gave, Sango made a mental note to watch his hands. When Kirara jumped up into her lap she began rubbing her soft fur slowly, thoughts turning inward. 'Maybe I shouldn't have left Kagome at the hot springs by herself, she does have the jewel shards and she does have a tendency to get attacked by demons.' Sango thought worriedly pausing in her petting of Kirara as she lightly bit into her bottom lip. Giving a soft meow Kirara nudged her hand sensing her worry. Pulled out of her thoughts Sango smiled slightly at Kirara knowing she was trying to comfort her.

Shippo anxiously paced, unable to sleep without knowing Kagome was back and alright. 'Where is Kagome? Ooh, I knew I should have gone when she said she was going to take a bath, she always takes so long.' With a sigh he plopped down in front of the fire and stared into the direction of the hot springs, his tail twitching nervously.

"Sango, maybe we should go and check on Kagome," Shippo said finally voicing everyones thoughts, "she's been gone a really long time."

"I've been worried too, Shippo. She always takes a long time but not this long... Alright we'll go." She said firmly, decision made. Turning to the tree in which Inuyasha had been sitting she called out.

"Inuyasha, Shippo and I are going to check on Kagome..." When she got no response she called out again. "Inuyasha!" Still receiving no response, she turned to Shippo, "Shippo, could you go and see if he's up there." Quickly jumping into the tree he climbed up to the branch Inuyasha had been sitting on.

"He's not here!" Shippo yelled out to them as he scampered down the tree.

"Sango, you and Shippo go ahead and check on Kagome. I'll go and get Inuyasha." Miroku said with his usual calm facade before grabbing a handful of Sango's ass and running off into the woods in search of Inuyasha.

Glaring, red faced, at Miroku's retreating back, Sango could still feel the warm imprint of his big hand on her ass. 'The only reason I slap him is because if I don't I'd probably jump him.' Shaking herself out of her thoughts she spoke. "Kirara!" Knowing what that tone of voice meant, the small cat demon transformed into her larger counterpart. Grabbing Shippo she quickly climbed onto her back, a new sense of urgency striking them, they took off towards the hot springs.

Traveling at a fast pace, Miroku did not have far to go before he found the place he was looking for. It was always the same, no matter where they went, it stayed a half a mile south of their camp for that night. For the past three weeks Inuyasha had been going to meet with Kikiyo.... and he had been covering for them. It was not out of loyalty to Inuyasha nor was it out of feelings of sympathy for his lost love. It was for Kagome. He didn't want Inuyasha to hurt her any more than he already had.

He had come across them together two weeks ago, and Inuyasha had made him promise not to tell Kagome because even he knew that if she found out she would no longer help him gather the shards. He'd promised not to tell but after that he no longer had any respect for Inuyasha and that night he'd said to him, " I may be a pervert, but I would never cheat on the woman I was with. I promise you this only for Kagome's sake, for I do not wish for her to be hurt." turning his back he had continued, " As for you... we are no longer friends. You disgust me." And with that he had left, leaving Inuyasha with his fake priestess

Arriving in the he clearing he knew he would find them in, he was disgusted by what he saw. Inuyasha was kissing Kikiyo with his hand up her top roughly fondling her clay breast.

"Inuyasha,stop fondling your clay priestess and listen to me." Miroku spoke, not wanting to see any more of this unnatural spectacle.

Abruptly pulling away from Kikiyo Inuyasha growled, "Don't insult Kikiyo, Miroku! What do you want?! Didn't I tell you not to bother me when I'm here."

Eyes quickly turning hard Miroku replied, " Kindly remember who it is keeping your secret about these meeting with your clay whore." When Inuyasha's growling became louder he held up a hand. "But I did not come here for this. Inuyasha, Kagome might be in trouble." Turning fully to face Miroku Inuyasha folded his arms and replied with a sneer on his face," Keh, Is the bitch in trouble or not?" Biting his tongue to keep from yelling at Inuyasha, because he knew instinctively that wouldn't help this situation, he replied with as much calm as he could muster, "I don't know. I sent Sango and Shippo to check."

"If you don't know then why did you come and bother me?"

Turning his back Miroku began to walk away. "OI! Answer me! OI! MIROKU!"

His back still turned Miroku stopped and began to speak, "I thought you would have realized by now," Looking over his shoulder at the confused expression on Inuyasha's face he looked him directly in the eye with a cold smirk, " ....Kagome has the jewel shards." With that final line he took off into the woods wanting to meet up with Sango and Shippo to make sure Kagome was alright.

"Shit!" Having said that Inuyasha prepared to take off into the woods after Miroku, when a cold white hand suddenly grabbed onto his sleeve. He looked down at the forgotten dead priestess, "What?!" he snapped impatiently. Resisting the urge to purify the stupid hanyou, she wrapped her arms around his neck, ignoring his flinch at her cold touch, and pressed her equally cold breasts against his chest.

"Don't go, Inuyasha. Don't leave me. Don't you love me?" she said in her most innocent voice rubbing her breasts blatantly against his chest. With the stench of graveyard soil and death lightly assaulting his nose, and the jewel shards on his mind he pushed her away, "I'll be back later." he said quickly taking off after Miroku.

Staring at his retreating back her hand itching to shoot an arrow at it she thought, 'That bastard must be crazy if he thinks I'm waiting here for him. There are other places I can get a good fuck.' As she turned to leave she felt an echoing twinge of pain in her chest, lifting her hand in front of her face and seeing a multitude of hair line cracks decided it was time to absorb more souls. With one last cold indifferent glare in the direction Inuyasha had long disappeared from, she too, left the clearing.

Having caught up to Miroku together they raced back to the campsite. Upon arriving they were confronted with the site of Sango pacing in front of the campfire and Shippo sitting with Kagome's bag. Immediately rushing over to the bag Inuyasha began tossing things out searching for the jewel shards. Oblivious to the look Sango gave Miroku before smoothly passing the jewel shards to him. They had both known he wasn't really concerned for Kagome and had long ago decided upon this plan if something like this ever happened.

"There not here!" he yelled out dumping the last few things from the bright yellow back pack.

"You know Kagome always keeps those with her. We better go and find her!" Using the situation to manipulate Inuyasha into helping them find Kagome, Sango voiced one of her own fears. "We need to hurry! Naraku might already have her and the jewel shards!" Once again the voice of reason stepped in, "Let's start at the hot springs and see if Inuyasha or Shippo can pick up her scent." Miroku spoke with his usual calm tainted with the worry he was feeling.

Packing up the camp the quickly made their way to the hot springs in silence. The only sound accompanying them was the sound of their own foot steps and breathing. Arriving at the hot springs Inuyasha fell to all fours and began sniffing around for Kagome's scent.

"She went that way!" Shippo yelled out pointing northwest from his spot atop Kirara, his stronger full demon nose immediately picking up her scent.

"Shut up, brat! I knew that! Let's go!" Inuyasha yelled taking off in the direction Shippo had pointed out, though he would never admit the fox kit was right. As the sun began to rise in the east, they rushed through the forest as fast as they could thoughts rushing just as fast as their hearts. Inuyasha jumped from branch to branch as he rushed through the trees his thoughts on the jewels shards, Sango and Shippo flying above the ground on Kirara's back, and Miroku running on the forest floor, all of their thoughts focused on Kagome.

"STOP!" Shippo suddenly yelled out. As everyone abruptly skidded to a stop, Inuyasha fell from the trees. Quickly picking himself up he got in Shippo's face.

"What wrong with you!? We have to hurry and find Kagome!" he yelled smacking him on the head.

"OW! You didn't have to hit me! I just lost her scent. If you were a full demon you would know that!" Shippo yelled back rubbing his bruised head. Seeing Inuyasha prepare to hit Shippo again Miroku stepped between them.

"Let's just continue in the direction we were going in. We have a better chance of finding her then. Let's get going!" Picking Shippo up he placed him on his shoulder, "Hold on tight, Shippo." He said before once again taking off into the forest.

"Keh, Whatever!" Inuyasha said before jumping back into the trees. Letting out a small sigh, Sango and Kirara continued after them.

After a while, the suns position having gotten higher in the sky, Inuyasha suddenly came down from the trees and picked up speed, "I can smell her! She's just up ahead!" Picking up their pace trees flew past them as a green and brown blurs, the strong wind stinging their faces but they didn't slow their pace.

Spotting a flash of her small form through the trees Inuyasha yelled out, "There she is!" Not knowing what to expect they all rushed into the clearing prepared for battle. But not at all prepared for what they saw.

"KAGOME!...."
