Poison And Blood

A/N: Yay! Chapter one!!!!!! Even though its only two reviews, its better then none and it makes me really happy to know that people like my fic! Trust me, it really does. Anyways, there’s some really bad jokes in here, and I’ve been dyeing to write a fic with this scene in it. Anyways, enjoy. And please, review.

Chapter one: Poison and Blood.

It was already morning, and Kagome had sat Inuyasha about the total of six times before she angrily stormed off. She hated the way he treated her. So what if she was bleeding! It wasn’t like he could do anything about it. She continued to fume as she remembered how it happened.

“Kagome!” Inuyasha said, shaking her shoulders. “Kagome wake up! I think you’re injured.”

Kagome woke up slowly, trying to rub the sleep out of her eyes. “What are you talking about Inuyasha?” She yawned… till finally she screamed and punched the hanyou. “What are you doing?!” She screamed.

“I was trying to figure out where you were bleeding.” He yelled back. “And it’s coming from between your lags there. I want to know why!”

Kagome’s face was bright red from both embarrassment and anger. “I’m not injured Inuyasha!” She screamed at him. “I’m fine so stop trying to figure it out!” She honestly didn’t expect her period to start so soon. She figured it would happen in another week so she would have enough time to get home and not have to deal with an incident like this again.

“You’re not fine, your bleeding. Now let me see so I can tend to it!”

Kagome’s face went a darker shade of red as she began to scream sit over and over again. Both Sango and Miroku just sat there, shaking their heads and muttering how Inuyasha deserved that.

“I’m going for a walk.” She snapped, grabbing her bag and began to leave. “Better yet, I’m going back home. I’ll be back in a week.” With that, the miko stormed off angrily.

Kagome sighed as she continued walking though the woods. Now that she thought about it that was a stupid idea to leave without Kirara. Going back to camp was just something she couldn’t do sense she was lost.

“Great…” She sighed, looking around. “Why do trees have to look the same? I mean, why can’t they look different so I can find my way back?” With another sigh, she past a wide oak, and stopped in her tracks.

She knew that he was an enemy, but when she came into the clearing, Kagome saw the most beautiful creature lying there. It was almost like he was a painting that only the blessed could see.

“What do you want miko?” Sesshomaru’s calm voice called out to her. He could smell her and Inuyasha’s group not too far from where he was. The only reason why he didn’t go after them was because he felt weak. Naraku had decided to pull a fast one of him and attack with his Samiyoushou. At first he could simply kill them with his whip as if they were just child’s play. That was when some other yokai attacked him. He was a little stronger then the insects, but still was no match for Sesshomaru. What he didn’t expect was for once of the samiyoushou to sting him in the back of his hand. He cursed at his carelessness.

He would not die from something like that, but it made him feel weak. His own poison was fighting against it and slowly winning, but his own strength for a while would be diminished. So he would lye low and hide his energy so he wouldn’t be found. That’s when the human Miko stumbled upon him. He could smell her blood, but it was faint now.

“I will not repeat myself miko.”

Kagome bit her lip as she stared at him for a little longer. “Are you okay Sesshomaru?” She asked, taking a step towards him. He really didn’t look all that well. Then again, the only time she saw him was when he was trying to kill her or Inuyasha.

“That is none of your business.” Sesshomaru glanced over at her, and for a moment, he could have sworn he saw a flash of blue in her eyes. No, Inuyasha’s bitch had brown eyes, not blue. He cursed the poison once more for deluding his mind.

Kagome huffed. Figures that both brothers would be like that. Stubborn and a bit mean. “I just asked a simple question.” She snapped at him, crossing her arms.

Sesshomaru watched her for a moment before looking t the forest once more. “You should not be worrying about me. You on the other hand are bleeding.”

Kagome blushed a deep red. “I am not hurt!” She said, quickly looking away. “Why do people keep saying that?”

Sesshomaru chuckled slightly. “I already can tell that your cycle is starting. Unlike my idiotic half brother, I can tell the difference.”

The raven-haired girl blinked in surprise. For once, her and Sesshomaru were having a conversation that didn’t consist of how he was going to kill her or anything like that. “Well…” She started, taking another step towards him. “You know what’s wrong with me, so why don’t you tell me what’s wrong with you? I might be able to help.”

“You are a miko with unbalanced power, and no medicine.” He said, his tone bored. “You cannot help me.”

“That’s not true. I have a lot of medication that can help just about anything. I even have medication to help with poison. Miroku can back me up on that. Why? Did you get poisoned or something?”

Sesshomaru sighed. “I did.” After the words came out of his mouth, he imminently regretted them.

Kagome placed her large yellow bag down and fished around till she found what she was looking for. “Here, try this. It’ll help you out.” She walked over till she was next to the yokai, and attempted to hand it over to him. Instead, Sesshomaru stared at it.

“I don’t need human medication.” He said, looking away.

“It’s not going to hurt you Sesshomaru. It’ll help you out I promise. Trust me, you’ll feel better in no time at all. Just drink it.”

“My poison will eventually get rid of the Samiyoushou poisons.”

Kagome rolled her eyes and flicked his ear.

Instantly Sesshomaru turned his head over to her anger on his face. “I will kill you if you do that again.” He snapped.

The miko chuckled and crossed her arms. “If you weren’t so weakened, you would have been able to stop me right before I even touched you. If a yokai appeared right now, I bet they could kill you because you’re so weak.” The angered look on the Taiyokai’s face made Kagome change her words around.

“I’m not saying your weak over all. I’m just saying that you’re in a weakened state right now.”

“Give me the medicine.” He said, cold and harsh.

With a sigh, Kagome handed him the bottle again. Instantly Sesshomaru snatched it and began to drink from the bottle before he finished it. “I feel no change.” He said simply.

The girl sighed. Must she explain everything to him? “It won’t work right off the bat. Give it a half-hour and you should start feeling much better. That’s how things like that work.”

Sesshomaru looked at her once more. ‘She reminds me of her…’ He thought to himself. But really, the only trait they shared was the darkness of their hair. “Why did you help me?” Sesshomaru demanded softly.

Kagome brought her knees close and rested her chin on her knees. “I know your trying to kill Inuyasha and you felt like he did you wrong, but you’re still his family. Even though he’ll never say it, I think Inuyasha would be sad if you died from something like poison. I think he would rather you die in battle then over a bee sting.”

Sesshomaru became quiet as he continued to watch her. The warm summer breeze blew though the trees and blowing her hair around her face.

‘Sesshomaru, doesn’t the summer breeze makes you feel calm?’ She would say to him. ‘It blows the fall leaves around and reminds you that it’s just around the corner. I can not wait till snow.’

‘Why is that?’ He asked Linali.

‘Because when you sit in the garden and there is snow all around you, you no longer look like the prince from the house of Inu, but more like a snow prince from the sky above.’

Slowly her voice began to fade from his mind as he stared at Kagome.

“Why are you staring at me?” Kagome asked, arching an eyebrow.

“Why do you follow Inuyasha like a puppy?” He asked her.

“I’m not a puppy!” She snapped at him.

“Just answer my question.”

Kagome huffed and rested her chin on her knees again. “Because I owe him. I broke the sacred jewel and now I have to help him find it. And until I do, I’ll follow him.”

“Do you love him?”

Kagome blinked in surprise till she lowered her gaze to the soft grass. “I did.” She said softly, almost sadly. “But he doesn’t want me. He wants her. After all, Kikyo is so much prettier, stronger, and just better then I can ever be. Not only that, she’s not a major mess up like I am. Forget the fact that she betrayed Inuyasha by giving the jewel fragment that we had to Naraku. Sure, I shattered it into a million pieces, but she gave it to the enemy. And yet… he still loves her.”

Sesshomaru could already smell the stench of unshed tears from her eyes. He just hoped that she wouldn’t start crying in front of him. “So you follow him because you shattered the jewel, but you also follow him because you hope that one day he will love you.” It wasn’t a question, it was a statement.

Kagome refused to look up at him.

“What will you do when you finished your task?”

“I don’t know.” She whispered. “I might just go home and stay home this time.”

Golden eyes continued to watch her as she whispered those words. So was like him. Someone who loved and was never loved in return. She continued to fight for her love, his just betrayed him and lead him on for many years. But he had incase his heart in stone, Kagome only let herself be harmed even more. Without him noticing, he reached a clawed finger out and touched a lock of her hair. In surprise, he pulled his hand away and looked off into the woods.

“How are you feeling Sesshomaru?” she asked, trying to ignore the fact he had touched her. After all, she was sure it was the fact he was still sick that caused him to do that.

Now that he thought about it, Sesshomaru did feel better. “Fine.” He said, standing up. “You better get back to your group. They’re looking for you.”

Kagome nodded and sat up. She felt a little empty inside now that she had talked to someone about how she had been feeling. But at the same time, what he had said, hurt her even more. “You know Sesshomaru,” she started, “You’re a lot easier to talk to then Inuyasha. But at the same time, you can just be as cruel.” She then grabbed her bag and began walking off in the opposite direction.

Sesshomaru on the other hand, stood there, staring at her in disbelief. She had said that before. She said that as she was dyeing. She also told him that he may love, but never be loved in return. With that thought in mind, he turned and left.
