thehotty: So I've decided to put up another chapter in the same day. So like me, right?
Kagome: You can't help but to show off your new stories with people that will apriciate it.
thehotty: Well, if I had friends that like Kagome and Sesshoumaru together, then I wouldn't have to put so many chapters up so soon.
Miroku: I believe that your readers actually like it.
Sango: I know I would.
thehotty: Yeah, well, you don't have stupid friends, now do you?
Sango: Well, yeah, but still.
thehotty: I have stupid friends, you know. My best friend calls me only to had the phone over to another one of my friends. She doesn't want to talk to me. I feel so unwanted. And every time I call her, she's always to busy to talk to me. I really hate it. I'm thinking of calling Irene next time instead of Steph. If she wants to talk to me, then she'll talk to me when she's not playing pass the fuckin phone.

Chapter Two : Whole New Mess of Problems
~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome found herself dressed in tight blue jeans and a green camouflage-like tank top. She had fake dog tags around her neck and her hair was up in a messy bun. She smiled as she tied her baby pink shoe laces from her army green shoes.
Standing up, she grabbed her keys off the hall table and walked out the house. She jumped into her convertible and speed off to Midnight Oasis, the hottest club in town.
Upon exiting the car, she spotted Kanna at the door. They were good friends, considering Kanna and Kaugra were sisters.
“Kagome! What are you doing here alone? I thought people like you didn’t like the fast life?” Kanna joked around.
“Careful, I might just call up Kaugra and tattle on you,” Kagome joked while walking to the front of the line. “Yura working here tonight or at Shippin’s?”
“She’s dj-ing. You might be able to catch a track or two in your favor. But watch it. It’s Bosses night,” Kanna offered, opening the velvet rope up for Kagome as everyone else moaned and complained behind her.
Kagome walked in and moved straight to the bar. “Screw driver please. And don’t wimp out on me!” She called out to the bartender. He nodded and soon her drink was sitting in front of her. She picked it up and turned around to see if it seemed like good dance partners were in stock tonight.
The loud music of Napoleon Bonaparte XIV hung heavy in the air while lights flew over head. The dance floor was crowded with scantily dressed women and horny men doing everything but fucking. And she was sure there were even a few brave couples out there even doing that.
Kagome tuned out the people around her and began to focus on the music and sung along with it, seeming as it was her second favorite song.
You remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave me
Because I’d go berserk?
Well…
You left me anyhow
And then the days got worse
And worse and now you see
I’ve gone completely out of my mind…
And…
They’re coming to take me away ha-haaa!!
They’re coming to take me away ho-hoo, he-heee, ha-haa!!
To the funny farm.
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I’d be happy to see those nice young men
In their clean white coats and
They’re coming to take me away ha-haaa!!
You thought it was a joke
And so you laughed,
You laughed,
When I had said that losing you
Would flip my lid…
Right???
You know you laughed,
I heard you laugh,
You laughed,
You laughed and laughed
And they you left,
But now you know I’m utterly mad…
And…
They’re coming to take me away ha-haaa!!
They’re coming to take me away ho-hooo, he-heee, ha-haaa!!
To the happy home.
With trees and flowers and chirping birds,
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes and
They’re coming to take me away ha-haaa!!
I cooked your food,
I cleaned your house,
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind unselfish loving deeds…
Huh???
Well you just wait,
They’ll find you yet
And when they do
They’ll put you in the ASPCA,
You mangy MUTT!!!
And…
They’re coming to take me away ha-haaa!!
They’re coming to take me away ho-hooo, he-heee, ha-haaa!!
To the funny farm.
Where life is beautiful all the time…
The song faded out and Kagome smiled to herself. ‘Change the whole insane thing to depression and broken heart and you have my life story.’
She chuckled and slammed her drink, placing the empty glass on the counter behind her. Kagome moved out into the crowd and began to move smoothly with the people already around her while working her way to the other side of the room to make it to the V.I.P. area to get a better scoop of the place tonight.
She finally made it and moved up the stairs. She glanced out at the crowd and noticed that girls seemed to flock to one place.
‘Another one of those guys,’ she thought as she moved her vision away from the girls, trying to find a guy worthy of her time. While looking, she faintly noticed the group of girls moving towards the stairs of the V.I.P. area.
‘Like they have a chance of getting in here. Only rich people can.’
Kagome pulled her eyes away again, noticing that she had been trying to catch a glimpse of the man they must have been swarming. She scoffed at herself. Like she was into that kind of thing.
Guys like that couldn’t stand to dance as long as she could and always turned out to be a disappointment in their dancing skills anyway. The girls only swarmed around them to gain their attention and money.
She let her eyes glide over the men sitting at tables watching the crowd. Those were the ones that told their girlfriends they couldn’t dance, even though they could, as their girlfriend dragged them into the club. They watched for potential fuck buddies and went to dance with them while their girlfriend was busy with a few of her friends.
She then turned to the bar. The ones who really couldn’t dance. They normally sat at the bar until they got so drunk they were brave enough to try out the dance floor, only to fall flat on their faces and embarrass themselves and their girlfriends.
She then turned to the guys near the outer edge of the dance floor, trying desperately to escape their girlfriends. Those were the ones that could dance, but didn’t like to. They tended to dance a few songs and then escape as soon as their girlfriend turned their backs to them.
She looked at the guys closer to the middle. Those were the ones she was looking for. The ones that would actually dance with someone because they wanted to dance or they wanted to get lucky with some unfortunate sap who believes they only want to dance with her.
But it seemed that guys were in short supply down there. Only a few moved around, trying to find the hottest female they could. They didn’t look like any thing special to dance with, so she instantly dismissed them and moved on to the very center.
This is where the most advent dancers normally conjugated. They were the ones who only came to the club to actually dance and who cares who watches. Those were the kind she loved to dance with, because they were the kind that wanted nothing from you but a good dance and then to hope to see you in the center another time.
She scanned the center quickly, making note of how many guys were actually down there. It seemed like a few, but she couldn’t really see, do to the fact that there were quite a bit more women.
Sighing, she sat down and turned. Maybe there was someone up in the V.I.P. that was worth it. It was a rare find, but there none the less.
Running her eyes across the room, she almost froze as she saw a wisp of silver hair behind everyone.
‘Calm down. It’s a big trend now to die your hair white. It had to be white. I don’t think Inu Yasha frequents clubs much,’ she thought to herself, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.
She stood up and decided that if it was Inu Yasha, then maybe he could worth a shot at dancing with. What could it hurt?
She moved into the crowd of stiffs and pushed past a rather rude woman that was sneering at her. She finally made it to the back of the crowd and saw the wisp of silver again disappear behind a curtain.
She picked up her pace and pushed the curtain aside to catch a better glance at the silver hair.
‘Defiantly Inu Yasha.’ She thought.
“Inu Yasha! Wait up! I wanted to talk to you,” she called out, once again picking up the pace to almost a jog before running into the silver haired man.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” She pushed herself backward. She steadied her feet and straightened her clothes.
She glanced up only to loose her footing again as she fell back onto her ass. Her eyes widened at the man before her and her mouth flapped up and down, making herself look like a fish out of water.
“Sess… Ses… Sesshou… Sesshoumaru,” she finally managed to say.
He watched her dispassionately. “Do I know you?”
Kagome gaped some more before standing up. He apparently didn’t recognize her so she decided that she’d play it off.
“No, but I’ve heard about you. I know Inu Yasha and he’s told me about you. I thought you were him for a minute there. I’m sorry sir.”
She bowed before quickly turning around and leaving him to stare after her.
Sesshoumaru watched as the girl quickly disappeared. She seemed so familiar to him that it triggered an old memory he was surprised he even still had.
~*~* Flashback *~*~
A young woman sat on a rock and stared at him.
“What are you going to do now? The journey’s over, and you said that you had things that you had to do.”
He watched her closely as he could smell the salty smell of tears coming on.
“I will go back home to my father,” he answered.
He didn’t feel anything for this woman. He would never allow it. After all, she was still human, not matter what had transpired not to long ago. Her life span was nothing of consequence to him.
“But what about me? What will I do without you?” she asked him.
“I care not. I have helped you with your silly journey. That was the extent of our deal. I must leave.”
With that, he had left the woman sitting on the rock as he flew off to the Western castle to find his father.
~*~* End Flashback *~*~
He shook his head to clear it of the thought. That was a long time ago. This ningen couldn’t be more then 24 years old. The onna he remembered was only 22 years old.
He decided that another round of dancing would distract him from such memories. After all, feelings like he had started to feel for that woman-child wasn’t acceptable. Not then, and certainly not now.
Kagome had moved to the middle of the dance floor, trying to forget the pain and the memories that had flooded her mind. It had taken her so long and she had finally gotten to the point that she didn’t have the urge to break down into tears. She was almost immune to the hurt he brought.
But it had peaked it’s ugly head, and that was enough for her. She had to forget, and if she had to dance with a strange woman to forget the hurt, then so be it.
She danced as the music played. Kaugra had seen her and raised her hand in greeting and in saying ‘your favorites on in three.’ And three songs later, ‘So Long & Thanks for All the Fish’ blared out from the speakers. Nobody really listened to the words, but Kagome knew. She knew what it was all about and what it signified to her.
And she did just as the song suggested she do. Lay back and watch the planet dissolve right in front of her.
She had to admit, she loved watching it dissolve. Everything just disappeared with the music and the dancing. It was like nothing mattered and nothing was there anymore. It was her and the music forever. The only thing that could show her any love was screaming in her ears and she loved it fully in return.
She danced with a woman that had come into play and they moved in perfect sync. When she moved forward, the woman moved back, when the woman leaned in, Kagome ground against her. They dipped together and rolled their hips together perfectly.
And the whole time, she was unaware of the golden eyes watching her intently. They couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of her. The way she moved and swayed to the music made him dwell on her identity.
After all, Inu Yasha never mentioned knowing someone so fabulous in the dancing skills. The runt loved to dance too. It made no since. How did this onna know Inu Yasha and him?
Frustrated and annoyed that this woman could get to him in such a way, he decided that maybe a dance with her would clear his mind a little and open him up to exactly how she seemed to know both himself and his brother when he couldn’t place her.
So he did just that. He walked up to the woman in question and pulled her tight against his body. She didn’t seem to mind, or to notice, so he followed her lead and danced with her. He vaguely noted the group of girls that had been following him before were now glaring at the girl in his arms and trying to push in closer to him to get his attention.
But he ignored them and focused on the one in front of him. She seemed to fit right into his arms. To mold to his body. And he realized that he liked the way she felt against him.
‘This will not do. I will find out who she is and how she knows my brother and myself,’ he thought.
“Woman, who are you?” he asked her in her ear so she could hear better.
She jumped and pulled out of his grasp. “Oh my! You scared me!”
“Woman, answer my question. I will not repeat myself,” he threatened.
“Just a friend of Inu Yasha’s. That’s all,” she quickly answered, not wanting to give herself away to him so soon. After all, he never felt anything toward her, so why should she let him know who she was?
He glared at her. “How do you know my brother?”
“Inu Yasha’s your brother?!?” she asked, completely stunned.
“Is that not what I just said?”
“Sorry! I’m not questioning you, I’m just a little shocked is all. But now that I think about it, you two look a lot alike. I’m a client of his from Quick Cord, Inc. I just do some small books. You’ve probably never read them. I don’t think they made it really big, but I transferred over to Inu Yasha in hopes that my stories would get more widely recognized. That’s how I know Inu Yasha,” she answered. She glanced down at her watch, noticing that it was now close to midnight.
“Oh my! I have work tomorrow. I better go. Nice talking to you Sesshoumaru-sama! Good bye!” She turned around to leave before she remembered something.
She turned back to face the man. “Oh, could you have Inu Yasha call me. Just tell him Myouga’s last charge, and he’ll understand. Thanks!”
With that, she turned back around and ran off and out the door.
Sesshoumaru smirked. Myouga’s last charge, huh? He’d just have to call Myouga and ask him for the woman’s name. He’d get an answer soon enough.
Kagome laid in her bed staring at the ceiling. She had came home at around midnight last night and passed out still in her clothes.
She had seen and spoken to Sesshoumaru last night. THE Prince Sesshoumaru-sama of the Western Lands.
Granted she was the Lady and Over-All ruler of the North, she hadn’t expected to see anyone from the West. She tried to keep all ties with any Lords or Ladies cut because the Southern Lord and the Eastern Lady had made a big deal about a woman ruling over the Lands. They had said that it was immoral. Especially since she was human. This had gotten their mates all flustered as well and told her to mate a demon just to make everything even.
Kagome didn’t like this idea and completely rebelled them. She had told them that she wouldn’t wage war on the other Lands, but she didn’t want anything to do with them either. With that being said, she destroyed the Northern castle and relocated it to an area where nobody, demon, hanyou, human or animal, could find it.
Of course, this upset the other Lords and Ladies and soon they forgot about the Northern Lands and it’s Lady ruler all together. She had made the Lands flourish under her rule and it seemed better off then what rumors brought in about the other Lands.
Every once in a while she’d be out of the castle and run into one of the other Lords or Ladies. They’d try to persuade her to join the Court again or at least mate. She’d refuse and leave the demon as quick as she could, disappearing from them completely.
She sighed. Inu Yasha was Sesshoumaru’s brother, which meant that Sesshoumaru was the fan and the one that wanted to meet her. This meant that she’d also meet the great Lord Inu-no-Tashio as well.
She’d always wanted to meet him. Ever since Sesshoumaru had told her about him. The great battles he was in, the love he held for his mother, even to the fact that he had sired another child with a human.
And she already knew who that one was. It was Inu Yasha.
She decided that getting up and going to work was a much better idea then letting her company go to absolute shambles under Kouga’s care. Though he was an employee, he was also a client, and he never failed to raise hell when she wasn’t in.
So she got out of her bed and began getting ready for work.
Sesshoumaru was on the phone with Myouga trying to get the name of his last charge. The old demon was proving to be more futile then necessary and almost refused to tell him. Instead, he’d play around the subject with little things.
Such as: She really is a great writer. I wonder if you ever read anything she wrote. Or things like: You probably wouldn’t like her personality wise. She’s the complete opposite of you. Open and caring. Ready to speak her mind. Nothing of your type.
He’d began to get fed up with Myouga’s games.
He growled into the phone. “Myouga, stop dancing around the question. Who is the girl? What is her name?”
He heard Myouga gulp over the phone and sigh. “Her name’s on the cover of ‘The Immortal Journey.’ You already know her,” was all he answered before hanging up the phone.
Sesshoumaru was seething. ‘What the hell is that flea getting at? I don’t know the author of that book!’ he thought before slamming the phone on it’s receiver.
Inu Yasha took that time to enter his study and glanced at his brother.
“What the hell is your problem. You’re going to break another fuckin phone by doin’ that.”
“Who is your new charge?” Sesshoumaru demanded.
“Kagome? What about her?” Inu Yasha asked, sitting in a chair.
“How does she know me?” Sesshoumaru asked.
“I wasn’t aware she knew you. Maybe she watches the news or something. I don’t know. You are quite famous after all,” Inu Yasha offered.
“She said you talked to her about me,” Sesshoumaru countered.
“I only mentioned you liked her books and that you’d like to meet her. She’s supposed to be coming over for dinner…” Inu Yasha trailed off and his eyes got big. “Ah shit! I forgot again! I have to fuckin call her and let her know when dinner’s going to be!”
“Did you mention my name to her?” Sesshoumaru asked, unconcerned for what his brother forgot.
“No, not that I remember. And I have a good memory too. Didn’t mention your name once,” Inu Yasha answered, pulling out his cell phone.
“Then how did she know it?” Sesshoumaru asked again.
“Like I said, you’re famous. All over the news and the papers. Shit, I thought I saw a whole magazine dedicated to you a few days ago,” Inu Yasha answered.
Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes. “I don’t think there is a whole magazine dedicated to me, Inu Yasha. Maybe you are right for once. Maybe she found my name out from the news.”
Inu Yasha waved a hand at him as he dialed Kagome’s number and brought the phone up to his ears. He waited a second before someone picked up.
“Hello, Prevail Operations. How may I help you?” a voice asked.
“I would like to speak to Kagome Higurashi please. This is her agent calling,” Inu Yasha answered.
“Right away, Mr. Tashio. Please hold for a moment.”
Music filled his ear and he rolled his eyes. “Figures she’d get holding music. So weird, that girl,” he mumbled.
Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at Inu Yasha, but his brother waved it off.
“Kagome Higurashi speaking, how may I help you?” Kagome asked over the line.
“Kagome, it’s Inu Yasha. Hey, I was just calling to see if you could do the dinner date tonight? I forgot to call until now. My brother actually reminded me,” he answered.
“Sure, I can do tonight. I’ll have to be picked up at my office though. Long day and what not. Kouga almost completely ruined my new account and the client threw an absolute fit. Not to mention I have to go over the payroll quickly just to make sure it’s all in order. But I can do tonight. What time?” she asked.
“How about you leave about 5:30, go home, get ready, and then I’ll have the limo over there at 6:15 to pick you up. That should give you enough time to get ready, right?” he asked.
“Of course. Don’t worry, I’ll be ready. I’ll see you tonight. Bye.”
With that, she hung up, not even giving him the chance to say bye.
“What does she do at Prevail Operations?” Sesshoumaru asked.
“She owns it. She’s really rich. I heard once that she was the richest chick in Japan. Laughed at that. Why the hell would she have been with Myouga if she was that rich?” Inu Yasha asked.
Sesshoumaru grunted. “Leave. I will be at dinner. I assume it’s at 7 then?” he asked.
“Yeah. See ya tonight. Oh, and Dad’s going to be there, so don’t be late or anything,” Inu Yasha called back.
Sesshoumaru glared at his brother. Of course Inu Yasha would invite their father to meet one of Japans richest women, not to mention to sellers in Japan as well. He rubbed his temples and glanced at the books on his desk.
The story seemed so familiar to him, but he couldn’t figure out why it did. So he picked up the first one again and began flipping through the pages.
thehotty: There you all go! I hope you are happy! Because I'm not!
Kagome: What now?
thehotty: It's not only my friend that's blowing me off. It's my daddy. You have no idea how much that hurts me. We just started talking to one another again and every time I try to call him, he doesn't answer his phone or isn't home. So I leave my number and tell him to call me back. He hasn't tried to call me once. I want to fall to the ground and just cry my eyes out.
Sango: I don't think they're doing this on purpose.
thehotty: No, they're not. They've all forgotten me. My daddy's forgotten me. My best friends forgotten me. The only ones that even know I still exisist is my mamma and my friend Dylie. How fuckin sad is that? I had well over thirty friends before I left and now it seems I only have two. I don't like this one bit.
Kagome: We're ganna go now so you all don't have to read this anymore. Next on 'An Immortal Journey' : Dinner with the Tashios'. What's going to happen? And a huge story telling. Stay tuned and please Rate and Reveiw!
All: Ja ne!
Kagome: You can't help but to show off your new stories with people that will apriciate it.
Running her eyes across the room, she almost froze as she saw a wisp of silver hair behind everyone.
‘Calm down. It’s a big trend now to die your hair white. It had to be white. I don’t think Inu Yasha frequents clubs much,’ she thought to herself, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.
She stood up and decided that if it was Inu Yasha, then maybe he could worth a shot at dancing with. What could it hurt?
She moved into the crowd of stiffs and pushed past a rather rude woman that was sneering at her. She finally made it to the back of the crowd and saw the wisp of silver again disappear behind a curtain.
She picked up her pace and pushed the curtain aside to catch a better glance at the silver hair.
‘Defiantly Inu Yasha.’ She thought.
“Inu Yasha! Wait up! I wanted to talk to you,” she called out, once again picking up the pace to almost a jog before running into the silver haired man.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” She pushed herself backward. She steadied her feet and straightened her clothes.
She glanced up only to loose her footing again as she fell back onto her ass. Her eyes widened at the man before her and her mouth flapped up and down, making herself look like a fish out of water.
“Sess… Ses… Sesshou… Sesshoumaru,” she finally managed to say.
He watched her dispassionately. “Do I know you?”
Kagome gaped some more before standing up. He apparently didn’t recognize her so she decided that she’d play it off.
“No, but I’ve heard about you. I know Inu Yasha and he’s told me about you. I thought you were him for a minute there. I’m sorry sir.”
She bowed before quickly turning around and leaving him to stare after her.
Sesshoumaru watched as the girl quickly disappeared. She seemed so familiar to him that it triggered an old memory he was surprised he even still had.
~*~* Flashback *~*~
A young woman sat on a rock and stared at him.
“What are you going to do now? The journey’s over, and you said that you had things that you had to do.”
He watched her closely as he could smell the salty smell of tears coming on.
“I will go back home to my father,” he answered.
He didn’t feel anything for this woman. He would never allow it. After all, she was still human, not matter what had transpired not to long ago. Her life span was nothing of consequence to him.
“But what about me? What will I do without you?” she asked him.
“I care not. I have helped you with your silly journey. That was the extent of our deal. I must leave.”
With that, he had left the woman sitting on the rock as he flew off to the Western castle to find his father.
~*~* End Flashback *~*~
He shook his head to clear it of the thought. That was a long time ago. This ningen couldn’t be more then 24 years old. The onna he remembered was only 22 years old.
He decided that another round of dancing would distract him from such memories. After all, feelings like he had started to feel for that woman-child wasn’t acceptable. Not then, and certainly not now.
Kagome had moved to the middle of the dance floor, trying to forget the pain and the memories that had flooded her mind. It had taken her so long and she had finally gotten to the point that she didn’t have the urge to break down into tears. She was almost immune to the hurt he brought.
But it had peaked it’s ugly head, and that was enough for her. She had to forget, and if she had to dance with a strange woman to forget the hurt, then so be it.
She danced as the music played. Kaugra had seen her and raised her hand in greeting and in saying ‘your favorites on in three.’ And three songs later, ‘So Long & Thanks for All the Fish’ blared out from the speakers. Nobody really listened to the words, but Kagome knew. She knew what it was all about and what it signified to her.
And she did just as the song suggested she do. Lay back and watch the planet dissolve right in front of her.
She had to admit, she loved watching it dissolve. Everything just disappeared with the music and the dancing. It was like nothing mattered and nothing was there anymore. It was her and the music forever. The only thing that could show her any love was screaming in her ears and she loved it fully in return.
She danced with a woman that had come into play and they moved in perfect sync. When she moved forward, the woman moved back, when the woman leaned in, Kagome ground against her. They dipped together and rolled their hips together perfectly.
And the whole time, she was unaware of the golden eyes watching her intently. They couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of her. The way she moved and swayed to the music made him dwell on her identity.
After all, Inu Yasha never mentioned knowing someone so fabulous in the dancing skills. The runt loved to dance too. It made no since. How did this onna know Inu Yasha and him?
Frustrated and annoyed that this woman could get to him in such a way, he decided that maybe a dance with her would clear his mind a little and open him up to exactly how she seemed to know both himself and his brother when he couldn’t place her.
So he did just that. He walked up to the woman in question and pulled her tight against his body. She didn’t seem to mind, or to notice, so he followed her lead and danced with her. He vaguely noted the group of girls that had been following him before were now glaring at the girl in his arms and trying to push in closer to him to get his attention.
But he ignored them and focused on the one in front of him. She seemed to fit right into his arms. To mold to his body. And he realized that he liked the way she felt against him.
‘This will not do. I will find out who she is and how she knows my brother and myself,’ he thought.
“Woman, who are you?” he asked her in her ear so she could hear better.
She jumped and pulled out of his grasp. “Oh my! You scared me!”
“Woman, answer my question. I will not repeat myself,” he threatened.
“Just a friend of Inu Yasha’s. That’s all,” she quickly answered, not wanting to give herself away to him so soon. After all, he never felt anything toward her, so why should she let him know who she was?
He glared at her. “How do you know my brother?”
“Inu Yasha’s your brother?!?” she asked, completely stunned.
“Is that not what I just said?”
“Sorry! I’m not questioning you, I’m just a little shocked is all. But now that I think about it, you two look a lot alike. I’m a client of his from Quick Cord, Inc. I just do some small books. You’ve probably never read them. I don’t think they made it really big, but I transferred over to Inu Yasha in hopes that my stories would get more widely recognized. That’s how I know Inu Yasha,” she answered. She glanced down at her watch, noticing that it was now close to midnight.
“Oh my! I have work tomorrow. I better go. Nice talking to you Sesshoumaru-sama! Good bye!” She turned around to leave before she remembered something.
She turned back to face the man. “Oh, could you have Inu Yasha call me. Just tell him Myouga’s last charge, and he’ll understand. Thanks!”
With that, she turned back around and ran off and out the door.
Sesshoumaru smirked. Myouga’s last charge, huh? He’d just have to call Myouga and ask him for the woman’s name. He’d get an answer soon enough.
Kagome laid in her bed staring at the ceiling. She had came home at around midnight last night and passed out still in her clothes.
She had seen and spoken to Sesshoumaru last night. THE Prince Sesshoumaru-sama of the Western Lands.
Granted she was the Lady and Over-All ruler of the North, she hadn’t expected to see anyone from the West. She tried to keep all ties with any Lords or Ladies cut because the Southern Lord and the Eastern Lady had made a big deal about a woman ruling over the Lands. They had said that it was immoral. Especially since she was human. This had gotten their mates all flustered as well and told her to mate a demon just to make everything even.
Kagome didn’t like this idea and completely rebelled them. She had told them that she wouldn’t wage war on the other Lands, but she didn’t want anything to do with them either. With that being said, she destroyed the Northern castle and relocated it to an area where nobody, demon, hanyou, human or animal, could find it.
Of course, this upset the other Lords and Ladies and soon they forgot about the Northern Lands and it’s Lady ruler all together. She had made the Lands flourish under her rule and it seemed better off then what rumors brought in about the other Lands.
Every once in a while she’d be out of the castle and run into one of the other Lords or Ladies. They’d try to persuade her to join the Court again or at least mate. She’d refuse and leave the demon as quick as she could, disappearing from them completely.
She sighed. Inu Yasha was Sesshoumaru’s brother, which meant that Sesshoumaru was the fan and the one that wanted to meet her. This meant that she’d also meet the great Lord Inu-no-Tashio as well.
She’d always wanted to meet him. Ever since Sesshoumaru had told her about him. The great battles he was in, the love he held for his mother, even to the fact that he had sired another child with a human.
And she already knew who that one was. It was Inu Yasha.
She decided that getting up and going to work was a much better idea then letting her company go to absolute shambles under Kouga’s care. Though he was an employee, he was also a client, and he never failed to raise hell when she wasn’t in.
So she got out of her bed and began getting ready for work.
Sesshoumaru was on the phone with Myouga trying to get the name of his last charge. The old demon was proving to be more futile then necessary and almost refused to tell him. Instead, he’d play around the subject with little things.
Such as: She really is a great writer. I wonder if you ever read anything she wrote. Or things like: You probably wouldn’t like her personality wise. She’s the complete opposite of you. Open and caring. Ready to speak her mind. Nothing of your type.
He’d began to get fed up with Myouga’s games.
He growled into the phone. “Myouga, stop dancing around the question. Who is the girl? What is her name?”
He heard Myouga gulp over the phone and sigh. “Her name’s on the cover of ‘The Immortal Journey.’ You already know her,” was all he answered before hanging up the phone.
Sesshoumaru was seething. ‘What the hell is that flea getting at? I don’t know the author of that book!’ he thought before slamming the phone on it’s receiver.
Inu Yasha took that time to enter his study and glanced at his brother.
“What the hell is your problem. You’re going to break another fuckin phone by doin’ that.”
“Who is your new charge?” Sesshoumaru demanded.
“Kagome? What about her?” Inu Yasha asked, sitting in a chair.
“How does she know me?” Sesshoumaru asked.
“I wasn’t aware she knew you. Maybe she watches the news or something. I don’t know. You are quite famous after all,” Inu Yasha offered.
“She said you talked to her about me,” Sesshoumaru countered.
“I only mentioned you liked her books and that you’d like to meet her. She’s supposed to be coming over for dinner…” Inu Yasha trailed off and his eyes got big. “Ah shit! I forgot again! I have to fuckin call her and let her know when dinner’s going to be!”
“Did you mention my name to her?” Sesshoumaru asked, unconcerned for what his brother forgot.
“No, not that I remember. And I have a good memory too. Didn’t mention your name once,” Inu Yasha answered, pulling out his cell phone.
“Then how did she know it?” Sesshoumaru asked again.
“Like I said, you’re famous. All over the news and the papers. Shit, I thought I saw a whole magazine dedicated to you a few days ago,” Inu Yasha answered.
Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes. “I don’t think there is a whole magazine dedicated to me, Inu Yasha. Maybe you are right for once. Maybe she found my name out from the news.”
Inu Yasha waved a hand at him as he dialed Kagome’s number and brought the phone up to his ears. He waited a second before someone picked up.
“Hello, Prevail Operations. How may I help you?” a voice asked.
“I would like to speak to Kagome Higurashi please. This is her agent calling,” Inu Yasha answered.
“Right away, Mr. Tashio. Please hold for a moment.”
Music filled his ear and he rolled his eyes. “Figures she’d get holding music. So weird, that girl,” he mumbled.
Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at Inu Yasha, but his brother waved it off.
“Kagome Higurashi speaking, how may I help you?” Kagome asked over the line.
“Kagome, it’s Inu Yasha. Hey, I was just calling to see if you could do the dinner date tonight? I forgot to call until now. My brother actually reminded me,” he answered.
“Sure, I can do tonight. I’ll have to be picked up at my office though. Long day and what not. Kouga almost completely ruined my new account and the client threw an absolute fit. Not to mention I have to go over the payroll quickly just to make sure it’s all in order. But I can do tonight. What time?” she asked.
“How about you leave about 5:30, go home, get ready, and then I’ll have the limo over there at 6:15 to pick you up. That should give you enough time to get ready, right?” he asked.
“Of course. Don’t worry, I’ll be ready. I’ll see you tonight. Bye.”
With that, she hung up, not even giving him the chance to say bye.
“What does she do at Prevail Operations?” Sesshoumaru asked.
“She owns it. She’s really rich. I heard once that she was the richest chick in Japan. Laughed at that. Why the hell would she have been with Myouga if she was that rich?” Inu Yasha asked.
Sesshoumaru grunted. “Leave. I will be at dinner. I assume it’s at 7 then?” he asked.
“Yeah. See ya tonight. Oh, and Dad’s going to be there, so don’t be late or anything,” Inu Yasha called back.
Sesshoumaru glared at his brother. Of course Inu Yasha would invite their father to meet one of Japans richest women, not to mention to sellers in Japan as well. He rubbed his temples and glanced at the books on his desk.
The story seemed so familiar to him, but he couldn’t figure out why it did. So he picked up the first one again and began flipping through the pages.
