Parallel

Chapter One:

"Yes." Kagoru answered as his eyes roved over the group. The group looked a lot like his friends only of different genders.

"Look I know this is going to sound weird but we are from an alternate reality, a parallel dimension." Kagome explained.

"It makes sense now. When Inutaisha was smelling different scents she was smelling you. I'm never going to hear the end of this." Kagoru realized as he looked at the group before him. "So you must be my counterpart."

"Yes. Inuyasha is Inutaisha's counterpart." Kagome said as Inuyasha stepped forward.

"Kagome, I am going to go after her. I'll be back." Inuyasha said Kagome as he proceeded to leave.

"Be careful she is in a bad mood." Kagoru told Inuyasha.

"I wonder why." Inuyasha said sarcastically then bounded off.

"Well he is the spitting image of Inutaisha." Kagoru commented.

Kagome nodded as she watched Inuyasha bound off. Inuyasha sighed softly as he walked carefully. He sniffed the air and picked up her scent quickly. "Sometimes I wish I could wring his neck." Inuyasha heard Inutaisha say. He stepped carefully as she came into view.

"No you don't." Inuyasha said to her.

"Who said that?" Inutaisha asked as she drew a slightly smaller Tetsuseiga then turned around quickly. Tetsuseiga fell from Inutaisha's hand with a clatter. She covered her mouth. "You...You look like me."

"I know what you are thinking."

"I'm going crazy. That's it I am not eating ramen ever again."

Inuyasha laughed somewhat. "No you are not."

"Then can I touch you to make sure I am not hallucinating?"

Inuyasha smiled then said, "Sure as long as I can do the same."

Inuyasha watched as she carefully reached to touch his ears. She was very gentle, he noted, as she stroked them. "You are real." He, in turn, did the same and noted as well that she was very real. "So how do you think you got here?

"I don't know. I think it has to do with Naraku. We were fighting him then all of the sudden we wound up here. I'm Inuyasha by the way. I already know your name." Inuyasha explained.

"So you are like my counterpart?" Inutaisha asked.

"Yeah. I suppose that is what you can call it." Inuyasha replied as he picked up Inutaisha's Tetsuseiga.

Inutaisha watched for a reaction from her sword. When it didn't react she smiled then said, "Thank you. You must be my counterpart otherwise Tetsuseiga wouldn't have let you pick it up." Inutaisha thanked Inuyasha.

"Let's go back. You can meet your group's counterparts." Inuyasha said as he started to walk back. "I hope Miroku is behaving himself."

"Let me take a guess. Miroku must be the counterpart to Mirra. Is he a pervert?" Inutaisha asked him with a laugh.

"How did you know?" Inuyasha questioned back.

"Mirra chases after men all the damn time." Inutaisha explained.

"Sounds like a female Miroku. What's her excuse?" Inuyasha commented.

"I want to bear children before I die." Inutaisha laughed softly. Inuyasha laughed at this. "Do you have a little fox demon too?" Inutaisha asked.

"Shippou. He is an annoying runt." Inuyasha answered. "But he is a good demon despite things."

"Shippa is the same way." Inutaisha agreed. "What about your demon slayer?"

"She is actually pretty good." Inuyasha told her.

"Sanga is the same way." Inutaisha said.

"Sounds like your friends are the same as mine. I would like to meet them." Inuyasha said.

"I'm sure you will." Inutaisha commented.

As the two reached the clearing where the well was they found that the others had already met. Kagoru suddenly looked up at her and smiled at her. "Inutaisha I was worried." Kagoru said to her.

"I'm fine Kagoru." Inutaisha told him. "Thanks for worrying though." She added.

"So this is your counterpart Inutaisha?" Mirra asked as she grabbed Inuyasha's arm.

"Yes Mirra. This is Inuyasha." Inutaisha introduced. "But, before you talk to Inuyasha we are going to have a little talk."

"About what?" Mirra asked then smiled at Inuyasha.

"You will see." Inutaisha replied as she dragged Mirra away from Inuyasha and towards the forest. "Be back in a minute."

"What was that all about?" Inuyasha questioned Kagoru.

Kagoru laughed softly. "I think she is going to tell her that she needs to keep her hands to herself."

"So she is Miroku's counterpart." Sango commented.

"Must be. I have never met anyone quite like Mirra who acted like that." Sanga interrupted with a laugh.

"There are girls like that in the modern era, but few." Kagoru said.

Finally, Inutaisha and Mirra came out and rejoined the group. "Shall we go to the village?"

"Sure." Inuyasha replied as Inutaisha led the way.
