Chapter II
Chapter 2:
Kagome and the others were still wondering what was going on. She tried to pull off the necklace, but it would not budge. Sango and Shippou both hopped over to see if they could help, while Miroku put his hand on his chin and pondered the possible severity of the situation. But they did not have long to wait.
Inuyasha burst into the hutt, with a huge grin of his face as he stared at his new victim. Kagome froze where she was, as did the others, as they noticed the lack of sutra beeds around the hanyou's neck.
'This could be big trouble.' thought Miroku as he looked at the hanyou's evil smirk and the beads of sweat starting to run down Kagome's face....
"Inuyasha, what is the meaning of this?" shouted Kagome as he got up on her feet, throwing a dirty glare towards the hanyou.
"I don't think I like your attitude, Kagome. Sit girl." replied the hanyou, his grin growing even bigger. The beads around Kagome's neck glowed brightly, before the miko was promptly yanked into the ground with force, splintering the wooden floor. Sango and Shippou both jumped back in suprise, while Miroku let a frown draw across his face.
Kagome emerged from the hole a minute later, and sank to her knees, rubbing her lower back after she had forcefully been bent at an angle that humans were never meant to go into. She looked up at Inuyasha with a face that still showed a lot of anger, but now there was a little bit of hurt mixed in as well. Tears brimmed in her eyes.
"Why....why are you doing this to me?" she asked in a soft voice.
"Why, I'll tell you why, Kagome...It's because of that prank you pulled earlier, and for everytime that you've ever sit me in the past. Sure, some of those it times it may have been needed, but you abuse that power way too often. Now sit." repeated Inuyasha, and once again Kagome slammed into the ground, this time face first.
Before Inuyasha could continue, Miroku's staff slammed into his head, leaving a great big bruise welting there. The hanyou looked over to him in anger.
"What did you do that for?" he asked, with anger and malice lacing his voice. However, his glare came up short when he saw the expression on Miroku's face.
"Enough...is enough Inuyasha. Now, if you don't mind, I'll tend to Kagome's injuries. You'd do well just to stay back and out of the way." said Miroku, his eyes hard and cold as ice, his lips turned downward in a very serious and disapproving frown.
The monk settled down to Kagome, who was still lying face down and wasn't moving. Gently he pulled her to where she laid on her back. Her eyes were closed, and it was apparent that the last sit had knocked her out. She had cuts on her face and arms where they had picked up splinters.
Instantly Inuyasha's anger turned into sadness and despair as he realized exactly what he had done to the one that he had loved. He had forgotten that while he, a half demon, was able to be sat and not be injured, the same could not be said for a human. How could he forgive himself for treating her like that? How could she forgive him?
With his head downcast, he turned and exited the hutt, but not before he ripped the sutra beads from around Kagome's neck, breaking the spell.

Kagome awoke several hours later, lying on a cot, with Sango and Shippou watching over her anxiously. Her head and back was killing her, and dimly she tried to remember what had happened to her. Then the memories came back in a rush, and she glanced down to her neck. The sutra beads were no longer there.
"Ah, Kagome, you're awake. How do you feel?" asked Sango, rubbing a damp cloth on her forehead.
"My head and back are killing me. What happened to the beads?" replied Kagome, looking around to see if Inuyasha was still in the room.
"After what he realized he had done, Inuyasha removed the beads from around your neck, before taking off into the forest." answered Miroku. Kagome glanced in his direction, and saw a rather large welt on his forehead. She glanced back to Sango with the question in her mind.
"Claimed to be checking your butt for any splinters that we may have missed..." Sango answered her inquiring eyes dryly.
"Thanks guys. I think I'll sleep off my injuries. Wake me at first light, and see if you can't find Inuyasha and drag him back here." asked Kagome as the miko settled back down and almost immediatley went back to sleep.
Sango continued to look over her, while both Shippou and Miroku headed out into the forest...
