Ok the Prolouge is boring, i know. It's just for background knoledge. But here's where the real story begins. Please Read and review!
Chapter 1
Five months had passed since Kagome had eventually returned to Kaede’s hut, in time for a late dinner that night, and since then, Kagome was fitting in, and healing her emotional scars, quite well. The group had kept their word to her, and she was well protected. And loved. Miroku and Sango ventured out on many missions to kill rouge demons plaguing neighboring villages, and they took Shippou on occasion. Inuyasha defended his territory, and Kagome became Kaede’s apprentice.
Inuyasha looked down from Kaede’s roof, watching the village people doing their daily chores. It had become a routine for Inuyasha. He’d sleep in the god-tree at night, and watch over the village during the day. At around mid-day, after Kaede served him and the others lunch, he’d go scout his Forest for intruders before returning to the village and doing the same. This had been going on for the past few months, when he knew that Kagome had settled into her own routine with Kaede and the others.
‘When’s lunch going to be, damn it! I’m getting hungry.’ And with that thought, his stomach started to growl. He stood up from his sitting spot and jumped down, landing gracefully upon Shippou’s head.
“Kagome! Inuyasha stepped on my head again!” Shippou went crying into the hut when he took his foot off of the fox-child’s head. Kagome came into view moments later, holding Shippou, who was attached to the front of her miko garb. Kagome smiled at him and began to speak.
“Inuyasha. You shouldn’t do such things. You’re master of your own territory now. You shouldn’t act like a child.” Kagome said, in a restrained voice. Inuyasha flattened his ears knowing what was to come next. “Shippou, why don’t you go draw a picture for when Miroku and Sango come back from their trip?” Shippou nodded, and happily jumped out of Kagome’s arms and ran into the hut, reappearing a moment later looking at Inuyasha and giving him a tongue out, dirty face.
“Yeah, yeah. So what if I look after the forest and the village. You spoil the runt too much.” Inuyasha defended himself.
“He may be spoiled, but so are you.” Kagome said, laughing at Inuyasha’s confused face. This wasn’t the reaction he had thought he’d get.
“And just how am I spoiled?” Inuyasha asked, folding his arms, the exact moment his stomach growled once again. Kagome laughed again, and started walking towards the door of the hut before looking back towards Inuyasha.
“You’re spoiled because we feed you five times a day!” Inuyasha scowled before following Kagome into the hut, sitting down in the corner closest the door. Kagome scooped him a bowl of broth and handed it to him to eat. He devoured it in record time, only to ask for another bowl-full.
After his three-bowl lunch, it was time to get on with his routine. Inuyasha walked through his forest, taking his time, sniffing the clean air searching for any ill sign. When he reached the edge of his territory, his nose picked up one of the foulest smells he knew he’d smelled before. It was that of a wolf demon. He started to growl, his claws flexing as he waited for the smell’s master to show himself. Inuyasha didn’t have to wait long before a small tornado came hurdling towards him, stopping a few meters away from him.
“Well what do you know, it’s dog breath, scouting his woods.” Kouga laughed, hands clasped lazily behind his head. “Looking for chipmunks who might want to take over? Bet you couldn’t even take one of those on.” Inuyasha’s eyes darkened, refraining himself from making any rash decisions.
“What do you want wolf?” Inuyasha asked, still growling.
“I see my woman’s not near you today. What happened, she get fed up with you and realize that she needed a REAL demon to take care of her?” Kouga taunted, walking towards him.
“Leave Kagome out of this.” Inuyasha lashed out, almost nicking Kougas’ cheek with his claws. Kouga jumped back, not using much effort.
“I see I’ve hit a nerve. So it must be true then.” Kouga smiled, his fangs showing.
“What are you here for Kouga?” Inuyasha repeated, his growling doubling in volume when Kouga took a step towards him, and towards the direction of the village, where Kagome was.
“I’m here to finally take my woman back.” Kouga responded, dropping his hands to his sides.
“And what makes you think she’ll go willingly with you?” Inuyasha responded, his eyes covered by his silver bangs.
“Oh she’s coming with me weather she want’s to or not dog-breath. She’s my woman and she will submit to her alpha male.” Kouga responded taking a confident stride towards him.
“You are not her Alpha male Kouga. Besides, you have Ayame. She is your intended. She will be a willing mate.” Inuyasha held himself back, but his voice still managed to have his protective growl in it.
“Ayame may be a willing mate, but she sure as hell wont breed strong pups like Kagome will, even if they will be half-breeds.” Kouga responded, brushing past Inuyasha, intending to continue his journey to the small village. Inuyasha whipped around, catching Kouga by the neck of his tunic and roughly threw him back a few yards. Inuyasha eyed Kouga, his eyes laced with red. Kouga saw this, but only got up and dusted himself off. “Do not stop me half-breed, you know you will die.” Kouga started off in the direction of the village once more before Inuyasha spoke up.
“I challenge you.” Inuyasha said, cracking his wrists.
“What did you say?” Kouga said, while directing a glare at Inuyasha.
“I challenge you. I am also an alpha male in this area. If you say you are Kagome’s alpha male, then I challenge you to breeding rights. To the death, no-holds-barred.” Inuyasha calmly stated his challenge, looking Kouga in the eye.
“Let me get this straight.” Kouga said, looking Inuyasha dead in the eye “you want to challenge ME to a no-hold-barred fight, to the death, for the right to impregnate Kagome? Did I get that right?” Kouga asked. Inuyasha grunted affirming Kougas’ question. Kouga smirked and then gave a laugh that Inuyasha was sure that echoed all the way to the village. “Thanks dog-breath, you’ve finally given me a worthy way to kill you.” Was the last thing that Kouga said before his sword was taken out, and clashing against Inuyasha’s.
Inuyasha’s eyes reverted to some-what normal, only a few traces of red left at the corner of his eyes. Inuyasha had to grit his teeth and use a burst of power to fling Kouga away. Kouga did a back flip and as soon as he landed on his feet, he rushed at Inuyasha again. This time, Inuyasha was more ready than he had been before, and ducked, swung out his leg, and caught Kouga off guard. Kouga went down, rolling away quickly before he stayed on all fours, his sword laying on the ground next to him, though still in his hand. Inuyasha stood straight, sword in hand, looking down at Kouga.
“I don’t need my sword to kill you” Inuyasha said, before throwing it to the side of the so called ‘battle field’, before he leaped at Kouga, who had also thrown away his sword. Kouga dodged Inuyasha’s swipe as he neared, and counter attacked with his own swipe, and when Inuyasha narrowly dodged it, Kouga smirked and kicked Inuyasha in the stomach. Inuyasha flew a few feet until he hit a tree. He slowly slid down the tree, too dazed by the unseen attack to move out of the way of a punch to the face. Kouga knelt down and grabbed Inuyasha by the throat, squeezing as he lifted the half-dog-demon off the ground.
“What shall I tell my pups when I tell them about my victory against a mutt like you? Shall I tell them that you begged for mercy?” Kouga stopped, only to punch Inuyasha in the gut when he tried to squirm free of his grasp. “Or should I tell them that you were such a coward, that you ran from the battle, only for me catch up to you like you were a snail, and you died a cowards death?” Kouga asked, as he positioned his claw at Inuyasha’s jugular. “I shall watch you die a slow death. Watch as your life seeps out of you as you lay—“ Kouga stopped, as Inuyasha had opened his eyes. The once bright amber, or dark, last he’d seem them, were now a deep red. Inuyasha’s face twisted into a sadistic grin. Kouga opened his mouth, but before he could utter a word, Inuyasha slashed his arm and face. Kouga quickly let go of Inuyasha, and jumped back, nursing his wounded arm. “You BASTARD! Half-breed SCUM! I, Prince Kouga will NOT loose a fight! Especially to you.”
“Scum?” Inuyasha repeated, before laughing an evil laugh. “You accept fight. Me win, no matter what.” Kouga growled, leaping another foot away, as Inuyasha stalked closer towards him.
“You can’t even control yourself in that form. You can’t even make NORMAL sentences. You’re just like a cave man!” Kouga shouted, leaping towards the nearest sword- Tetsuaiga. Kouga picked the blade up, only to screech as the sword electrocuted him, and he dropped to one knee. The sword dropped to the ground and when Kouga looked up, Inuyasha was right in front of him.
“What you say, wolf?” Inuyasha growled, before clawing Kouga’s face. Kouga desperately fought to get out of the hanyou-turned-demon hold, just as Inuyasha had tried to get out of his. He slashed Inuyasha’s face, as best as he could, and the arm that was holding him down, with his good hand. “You die now, wolf.” Was the last sentence that Kouga, the wold demon prince would ever hear, before Inuyasha pinned him to the forest floor and forced his claws through his rivals’ throat. Kouga lay limp and lifeless as his blood started to pool around his body. Inuyasha looked down at the sticky mess that was slowly making it’s way through the grass towards him. “Alpha female not like blood…” Inuyasha commented to himself as he switched his vision to his blood caked claws and arm. “Clean. She like clean.” Was all that Inuyasha muttered to himself before he rushed off, towards a stream licking some of his now dead rivals’ blood off of his claws.
