Little Girl
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome's family had some issues growing up. Her father had died and her mother were attached to her children. She didn't want Kagome to go off alone all of the time. Making Kagome feel like she was suffocating at home.
Kagome found her way out in Sesshomaru. She would climb out of her window at night and go over to his house. They would sleep in the same bed, it had been this way since her father had pasted on.
She looked up to Inu Tashio like a father, and he loved her like a daughter. Sesshomaru would just move over and let her in his bed. It was big enough always so no big deal. She even had her own clothes over here, for when she stayed here.
It was funny at first when Inu Tashio decided to give her, her own room. Of course he soon figured out that she didn't need one. She just always jumped into Sesshomaru's bed. He would just laugh at the girl. So instead of giving her own room. He gave her, her very own closet. Which was built on to Sesshomaru's room.
Kagome was happy when she was there, but at home.. it was another story. Her family was poor and her mother didn't like her spending so much time with Sesshomaru. Yeah she liked him and all, but she just wanted her daughter to be safe.
Kagome loved music. I do mean LOVE it. She was always singing along to songs on the radio and would just get up on top of the tables at lunch and sing her heart out.
Tonight however was the talent show. Her mother was coming this time and Kagome was nervous. She decided that she wanted to tell her mother how she felt tonight. The best way to do that was to sing on of her songs.
She had her own stage backgrounds and set ups. She was wearing a silver long dress. She had high heels on as well that laced up her legs. She had a diamond necklace and ear rings on. Her hair was put up with some of the hairs falling down. She had silver eye shadow on and pink lipstick.
The curtains fell down and everyone rushed to get her stuff set up on stage. She finally got the thumbs up that everything was in place. She took a deep breath and walked on stage. Of course the curtain was still down so nothing to really worry about yet.
There was the background of a forest with a house there. There was a swing that looked like it was held up by a tree on set as well. That's were she was suppose to be sitting. She sat down and took another deep breath.
She closed her eyes as the curtain came up. There were gasps as they saw the set.. it looked wonderful and so real. She opened her eyes and they settled on her mother smiling at her. She gave a small smile, and felt the tears coming to her eyes.
The music started playing. It was the piano playing a soft melody. She took another breath and looked at her mother once again.
sometimes you treat me like a little girl
like I cant take care of myself
like I need you always there
holding my hand
My mother was staring at me now. I just knew that she was getting offended already. I took another breath.
I'm here to tell you that I don't need that
I know that I'm your little girl
I know that you love me dearly
but did you ever think that just maybe
that just maybe
The piano was now joined by a guitar strumming softly and drums to give it a better beat, as well as violins.
Its wrong to treat me like your little girl
that your holding me back
from reality
sometimes you treat me like a little girl
like I cant take care of myself
like I need you always there
holding my hand
I need to learn
I need to learn to be on my own
cuz mother... your not always going to be here
I could tell that my mother had tears in her eyes. I had them too. All the mothers in the whole place where holding their daughters hands tighter.
someday far down the road
there will be a time and place that your not there
I will need to know how to take care of myself
without you there
by my side
I know its hard
I know that Its just how you are
you don't want nothing bad to happen to me
I understand and I love you
I love you mother
more than you realize
sometimes you treat me like a little girl
like I cant take care of myself
like I need you always there
holding my hand
I'm not saying you need to let go
but can you please
just let up on me a little
I have my life
I want to live it my way
not always yours
and I do like your judgement
but please don't let me waste my life away
just because you said no
I know I act younger than I should
but I try to change that
It doesn't help when I got you treating me
like a little girl
holding my hand
I'm not saying you need to let go
but can you please
just let up on me a little
you wont always be here
and I don't want to push you away
but please just let up on me a little
I know you don't like the risks that I take
in my life
but mother... but mother
what's the fun in life if you don't live it
yeah I understand that its dangerous out there
but I also understand that its dangerous in here too
all I'm asking for
is that you trust me
and be there when I come crashing down
sometimes you treat me like a little girl
like I cant take care of myself
like I need you always there
holding my hand
I'm not saying you need to let go
but can you please
just let up on me a little
The music started slowing down and I took another breath and continued to look at my mother with love in my eyes.
you wont always be here
and I want to look back on these days
and remember all the good times that we had
I'm not saying you have to let go
but please let up on me just a little
The music played a few more beats and then it went silent. Kagome stood there looking down at her mother. Then she smiled at her and started clapping her hands. It brought tears to Kagome's eyes. Kagome got off of the stage and walked to her mother and gave her the biggest hug ever.
"I understand now dear, and I'm sorry." her mother said to her.
"I love you mom. Always and forever." Kagome said.
Everyone was clapping by now and Kagome smiled at them all. There were whistles from some as well. They were standing and the mothers were hugging the daughters.
Kagome was the last act so the talent show was coming to an end. The teacher that was hosting got up on stage and smiled at Kagome.
"Now all of our acts where wonderful. The judges have decided that the winner is no other than Kagome!" she said and everyone cheered.
Kagome got her prize and said thanx to everyone and with her mother walked out of the place with a huge smile on her face.
AN: If you take any and I do mean ANY of the lyrics from that song I will really sue you. It is my own song. If you wish to use it in a story then ask. If you steal it I will seriously take every damn penny you got. Thanks for reading and I hope you review.
