I do not own InuYasha, nor make money from this story.
Curiousity.
A/N: I still don't own it, so you still don't have to pay. Smooth and creamy.
Inuyasha stared into Sesshoumaru’s eyes. He didn’t look like he wanted to attack him, but then again his brother prided himself on catching one unawares. There was a tense moment in the air, but it faded when Sesshomaru shrugged and paddled backwards. He oozed some of the soap into his hand and lathered himself up, pretending not to notice how his brother was glaring at him.
“Is there a problem?” Sesshoumaru asked pointedly. He was trying to semi enjoy the spring, and Inuyasha was practically growling at him.
“Why are you here?” Inuyasha spat out, angry that his brother invaded his privacy.
Sesshoumaru casually looked around. “The last time I remember, this spring did not belong to you.”
Inuyasha’s mouth fell open. “Yeah, the land that ‘could have’ belonged to me was stolen from me from…hmmm…YOU!!” he yelled, splashing water towards his brother.
Sesshoumaru looked curiously at his brother. Inuyasha was almost always animated (no pun intended), but today he seemed unusually emotional. Instead of further provoking his brother, he decided to offer an answer to the question asked.
“Rin was using the spring at the castle.”
Inuyasha frowned, and then burst out laughing. “That was such a lame excuse!” Inuyasha turned red with laughter, making Sesshoumaru’s eyes narrow. He didn’t like his brother laughing at him, even though his answer was pretty lame.
Inuyasha’s laughter died down into a chuckle as he cast an apologetic look at Sesshoumaru. “I didn’t mean to laugh, it just seems weird that you would lower yourself to bathe with the common folk.”
Sesshoumaru blanched. His regal stance usually made others standoffish (as it was supposed to), but there was something in the way Inuyasha made his last statement that made him sound very sad and misplaced. Sesshoumaru paddled back closer.
“I was going for a walk to clear my mind, plus this spring is hotter than any of the springs in the castle.” Inuyasha nodded at that response and leaned back against a rock. Sesshoumaru tipped the soap back again and rolled his eyes when he saw the bottle was empty. He smacked it against a rock, but nothing came out.
“Is it all gone?”
Sesshoumaru nodded.
Inuyasha shrugged. “Just something else in my life I don’t have anymore.” His voice sounded soft and broken, and it made Sesshoumaru even more curious.
“Tell me, Inuyasha. What have you lost?”
Inuyasha glared at him. “Was that one of those rhetorical questions I’m not supposed to answer because the truth is so goddamned obvious? Or are you trying to rub salt in an already infected pus filled wound?”
Sesshoumaru made a face. “You have been around that dirty ningen girl too long. You have actually been hanging around all those ningen too long. They have made you into a disgusting shell of your former self.”
Inuyasha found another rock and threw it at him, this time the rock connected and scratched the western lord beneath his eye where one of his magenta stripes ended. “At least they accept me!” he yelled, but then regretted the words as soon as they came out. More ammo.
Sesshoumaru smirked and paddled again toward Inuyasha. When he faced him, he wiped the blood from underneath his eye and offered the finger to his brother.
“You drew the blood. It is yours.” Inuyasha tentatively leaned forward and licked the blood off of his brother’s finger and then shuddered. The sweetness of his blood was unmistakable and it reminded him of his time back at the castle when he was young.
“And as you were saying…they accept you?” Sesshoumaru whispered, coming dangerously close to Inuyasha’s face. “They run you off, telling you that you have to get the Shikon no Tama to become one of them…that your lovely scent disgusts them…is that acceptance, Inuyasha? Is it?” he breathed sensually, practically panting, looking at the sight in front of him. Inuyasha was wide eyed, moving closer and closing the space between them.
“They never threatened to kill me. They never…” Inuyasha started, but blurry vision and a burning in his throat got the best of his words. He wondered for a moment if Sesshoumaru had tainted the blood he had licked off, but he realized that wasn’t what was causing his reaction.
He was crying.
“Why are you doing this?!!” Inuyasha screamed, reaching under the water to shove Sesshoumaru away. He wasn’t used to the psychological attacks and questions about his feelings. No one cared about his feelings, least of all Sesshoumaru. Sure, the humans didn’t treat him all that great but they were also not trying to use his hide as a new carpet.
“I didn’t come because I wanted to bathe. I came for you, Inuyasha.”
Inuyasha stared at him. “To fight me?”
Sesshoumaru smiled, this time genuinely. “No.”
“I’m not giving up Tessaiga to you.” His defiant tone elicited another smile from Sesshoumaru
“I’ve realized something, Inuyasha. Hurting you is doing nothing but hurting me. I suppose I had forgotten that after you awoke from the Goshinboku.”
Inuyasha wore a look of hope. What was Sesshoumaru doing? Why was he being almost friendly and caring? What did it mean? Not wanting to be hurt again, and not wanting to deal with this new onslaught of information, Inuyasha stood to walk out of the spring when he cried out in pain and fell.
“Fucking sharp ass rock!” he screamed, reaching through the water and feeling the thick blood starting to ooze from his thigh. Apparently one of the rocks in the spring had a sharp edge that reached out to bite him when he walked past. Inuyasha winced and leaned back, closing his eyes and putting his head on the rocks in defeat.
“Does it hurt?” Sesshoumaru moved back close to his brother and spoke softly.
“Yes.” the reply was agitated.
“And now?” Inuyasha’s eyes widened when he felt a hand caress his thigh. He turned and looked into Sesshoumaru’s eyes, and it seemed like years passed before the gentle breeze that was their first kiss wafted through the air. Their heads moved closer and closer, till finally the soft warmth of each other's mouths touched. The passion intensified as they kissed, slow and deep.
“Don’t go back to them. Stay…with me. Your scent drew me to you…you are irresistible,” Sesshoumaru purred, stroking one of his brother’s ears. The pain in his leg subsided and was replaced with a pain a bit higher up as Inuyasha whimpered for more.
"Let me take care of you. Let me...have you."
Sesshoumaru delivered small, much needed kisses to his brother’s face, neck, and chest, admiring how the sun glistened off his body. Inuyasha needed him, and he was more than willing to admit what he wanted. Sesshoumaru stroked Inuyasha’s hair and gave him a final soft kiss before pulling away. Inuyasha opened his mouth to protest, but his lips were covered by the same finger that he licked the blood off of.
“No. Not here. You are too special for that. If you are to be mine, both of us have to hold you in a higher regard.” With that, Sesshoumaru left the spring to redress, leaving Inuyasha staring in wonder. Sesshoumaru started to walk away, but then paused.
“Are you coming?” he asked, the boredom coming back to his voice. Inuyasha looked back at him and nodded, slowly leaving the spring to redress. Sesshoumaru frowned and swished over to his brother, a slight look of impatience on his face.
“If you are to be with me, promptness is essential.”
Inuyasha looked confused. “Huh?”
“Kami-sama! To hell with this!” Sesshoumaru growled. He threw the fire rat over his brother and carried him off bridal style to the Western Lands. He had all kinds of ideas in his head, and honestly, none of them had Inuyasha being fully clothed in them. Besides, he had to prove to both of them that he was ready to accept their fate.
A/N: I lost track of time and also my train of thought when Bleach came on. Mmmm...Kurosaki Ichigo! Anyway, um here. Next chap is a lemon. N'joi.
