Ok now please don't hate me for being so long, I went to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras with my family so i had plenty of time to write, but no computer to post it with. So without further ado, here is chapter 2.
*****************************************************************************************
Later that night, the Inuyasha group with the addition of Azarruya sat around a campfire enjoying a supper of Ramen. Miroku was lieing on his bedroll and was in obvious pain. Sango was sitting beside him, feeding him his supper and looking concerned for her friend. Inuyasha, who was sitting inbetween Kagome and Shippou kept his eyes trained on Azarruya while he ate. His eyes only broke away from her when he heard Miroku gasp in pain. He glanced over at his lecher-friend and saw him grasping at his cursed hand.
"Miroku what is it?" Kagome asked with worry-filled eyes.
"Ahhh it feels like the windtunnel is spreading at much faster pace than usual", Miroku screamed in pain and doubled over.
Azarruya stood up from her spot next to Kouga and walked over to Miroku where she kneeled at his side and took his cursed hand inbetween hers.
"Does this energy coming from your hand have anything to do with that demon you were all fighting earlier?" She began removing the prayer beads as she spoke, but Miroku yanked his hand away before she could unleash the windtunnel.
"No you musn't", Miroku panted, beads of sweat running down his face.
"But why? I'm just going to look at your hand? What's the big deal?" Azarruya asked, thoroughly confused by the monk's reaction.
"It's a huge deal", Miroku sighed heavily, "I think it's time we tell you exactly why we are all fighting Naraku."
It took almost two hours to tell everyone's story, but when they were done Azarruya looked at each of them sympathetically. They all reminded her so much of her friends. **No I will not think about them, now is not the time** Instead she sat next to Miroku and began unwinding the prayer beads again.
Inuyasha couldn't take it anymore. "Do you have a death wish? Or are you just that stupid?" He yelled at her. She didn't even flinch at his outburst, but placed her hand directly over Inuyasha's deepest wound. The two of them were surrounded with a silver light and when it faded Inuyasha stumbled back looking at the spot where the wound had been.
"How...how did you do that??" he stuttered.
"I am able to heal, it is one of my abilities, but it takes alot of energy and I can't heal someone who is dead. I believe that the windtunnel in Miroku's hand has been affected by the joining of Naraku and Chaos. I should be able to shrink it some, but Chaos has supplied Naraku with at least ten times his normal power. The hole will continue to spread at an accelereated pace till they either seperated or destroyed." All of this was said in her normal softness, but her tone had a bitter edge to it.
"Chaos has caused you a lot of pain hasn't she?" Kagome ask with her hand resting lightly Azarruya's arm.
Azarruya looked into Kagome's eyes and willed herself not to cry **So much like Serenity** All she said was "Yes she has". And with that, she held Miroku's hand, palm up with hers clasped around them. The silver glow now surrounded her and Miroku.
Everyone watched as Azarruya's faced furrowed in concentration. Kouga, who was standing next to her, couldn't take his eyes off of her. He found himself fascinated by her every move and he made a note to find out if mesmerising young princes was another one of her abilities.
He was so preoccupied with studying this mysterious woman that he didn't even notice his lack of attentions towards Kagome. Suddenly the silver light surrounding Azarruya and Miroku began to pulse and swirl. The two began to rise into the air as the light pulsed bright and brighter. Then, without warning, the light shattered and flew outwards like shooting stars. Sango, Kagome, Inuyasha averted their eyes, but Kouga didn't even blink. He watched the angel and the monk descend softly to the ground.
When they were settled Miroku stared at his hand while stuttering, "It's...it's...it's half of the size that it was".
Azarruya opened her eyes and looked straight infron of her. Kouga gasped as she started at him with eyes of pure silver. He watched her eyes close again and when she opened them they were her normal blue with silver streaks. She sunk to the ground in a heap, but as Kouga's hand grasped her arm to help her up she yanked her arm away from his touch as if she had been burned by it.
"I'm fine," she stated rather weakly. She refused his second attmept of hel as she began to stand, but halfway up her knees buckled and Kouga rushed foward a step so that she fell into his chest. He held her flush against his body as she caught her balance and his breath caught in his throat. She felt perfect, almost like she was built specifically for being held in his arms.
She looked up into his eyes and felt her stomach flutter. Their connection only lasted a minute before Kagome interrupted by asking if Azarruya was ok. They broke apart and sweatdropped.
"Yes Kagome I'm ok," Azarruya blushed deeply. "How's Miroku?"
"He's great, how did you heal his windtunnel? Would it be possible for you to heal it completely?" Kagome asked still wide-eyed.
"Not completely, no. It would kill me to even try, but I can keep it in check. It should spread at its normal pace if you allow me to heal it a bit every day," Azaruyya looked at Miroku with complacent eyes.
"And without these daily 'healings'?" Inuyasha grumbled.
"It would consume him in a matter of days. I cannot overthrow Naraku's power, because it takes nearly all the energy I have just to combat Chaos'," Azarruya stated in her matter-of-fact tone that made it hard to argue.
"Oh how convenient. Now she has to stay with us to 'heal' Miroku everyday..." Inuyasha began his rampage, "How do we know this Chaos person is even real? And if she is then why can't we see her?" At this Inuyasha paused and allowed Azarruya to open her mouth in reply before promptly cutting her off, "Another thing that burns me is, how do we know that you aren't Chaos?"
Kagome, Miroku, and Sango all gasped, but Kouga kept eyes on Azarruya. As much as he hated to admit it, mutt-face had raised some valid points and he was now forced to be on his guard.
"But Inuyasha, why would Azarruya heal my windtunnel if she was working with Naraku?" Miroku admonished.
"To gain our trust, it sure worked like a charm with yall. Look, the windtunnel isn't a threat to Naraku as long as he has those poinsoinous instects, so he has her heal the weapon that is of great threat to his demons, but not to himself." Inuyasha dogged on (no pun intended).
Azarruya didn't say a word, but stood up and walked over to Inuyasha. In a flash, Inuyasha had his Tetsiga aimed at her throat. She looked at him and lifted her finger to Tetsiga. One tap was all it took for Tetsiga to shock its owner and fall to the ground, useless.
Kouga was on her in an instant, pinning her to the ground with one hand around her throat and the other's claws digging into the skin over her heart.
"I should kill you for pulling that little trick," he growled, trying to ignore the fact that her body was so close to his.
"Go ahead, the only thing I love for is killing Chaos anyways, but after I'm dead ask youself why I would stun Inuyasha and then stay, not even try to run. I did not touch Inuyasha, only his weapon that he held to me first. Then I stayed where I was instead of fleeing to Naraku as one of his discovered minions would have." Azarruya's eyes burned with betrayal and her words were like a punch right in Kouga's gut.
"She's right Kouga let her up", Kagome said as she turned a baleful eye on Inuyasha, "And as for you. How dare you insult and then attack our new friend. Sit, sit, sit, SIT!!!" Kagome finished breathlessly and smirked at Inuyasha's back that was sunken into yet another Inuyasha-sized crater.
**Temper like Rei's that one has, there must be craters in the form of that hanyou's body all over Japan** Azarruya smiled to herself and rubbed at her chest and throat as Kouga released her.
"Would it convince you of my loyalty if I told you why I'm chasing Chaos?" Azarruya aked Inuyasha.
"Yeah it might help a little bit," Inuyasha growled as he tried to look dignified.
"Ok I will tell you all, but I have to warn you that this going to take a while," the group all nodded as they settled around the campfire again. Kouga shifted uncomfortably next to her, trying to forget the feeling of her body underneath his and hoping she didn't hate him for attacking her.
Azarruya took a deep breath and began....
