The Beginning of a New Life

Here is my second chapter I hope you will like it

Chapter 2

Back at Sesshomaru’s castle Rin was playing in the large garden around the palace. Jaken was watching her like a hawk making sure no demon was going to attack her. His main instruction was to look after Rin. Even though Rin had been living their for over a month their were already some demons who didn’t like having her in the castle. Especially one of them and that was one of the female demons by the name of Shurai.

She happened to be a the youngest daughter of Lord Kazu of the southern lands. She was given to Sesshomaru as a gift and Lord Kazu hoping she would become his mate. Sesshomaru had never even thought the slightest about taking in a mate even though he would have to someday. He knew full well though that he would soon need to mate so he could have an heir to his lands.

When Shurai was given to him he didn’t have any intention of making her his mate even if she was the daughter of the southern lord. Even though he told Kazu that the southern lord told him to take her anyway. So Sesshomaru was stuck with her of course he could just kill her but he knew that if he did that a war would probably break lose between him and Kazu. So he kept her in the castle but he would not make her the mother of his offspring. When Shurai had first met Sesshomaru she couldn’t believe how incredibly beautiful he was and she fell completely in love with him. She knew of course he had no feelings for her and never would, however she wanted to be his mate and be the mother of his children.

She had always obeyed her master since the first day she stepped foot into his castle. She could remember the day when she first came to his lands. It was only 75 years ago long before Rin was ever born. Even after all this time she was still loyal to him and she would wait until he would accept her as his. When she found out that her lordship brought back a human with him from his long journey she was furious. Though she never showed it in front of him the inside was just dreading with anger and hatred towards the human. She couldn’t understand along with some other demons why Sesshomaru would bring a human into his castle.

Since Sesshomaru had gone over to the eastern lands she had been watching Rin. If Jaken wasn’t their she would kill the girl now and then. This was the first time since Rin came that Sesshomaru had left the castle leaving Rin behind. Shurai knew that her master would not leave the human alone. She couldn’t be able to get close to her now but someday she would get rid of Rin.

“Master Jaken look at this” Rin ran over to him and in her hand was a caterpillar. “So what it is just a insect” Jaken said. “Don’t you like insects master Jaken” Rin asked the old toad, “why would I” he replied. “Master Jaken we have a problem” one of Sesshomaru’s servants ran up to him in a hurry. “What is it” Jaken wasn’t in the mood to deal with problems right now. “Well their was an accident over in the stables” he was told. “I will be right their” Jaken turned to Rin who had a concerned look on her face. “Rin I want you to go to your bedroom and stay their until I tell you when you can leave” he told Rin. “Ok master Jaken” and she ran of back inside and headed to her room. “I am sure she will be alright in her room for just awhile” Jaken said to himself.

Rin was skipping through the hall way she was about to turn the corner when she heard to people talking. She stopped before she went around and put her body up against the wall and tried to listen to what the two demons where talking about. “Man I cant believe our lord would bring in such a disgusting human” one with long hair said. “I know when ever I pass that girls room it stinks of human scent I cant stand it” the other replied. “Geese if I was in charge I would kill that gruesome child” the long haired then said. “Yeah she stinks up the whole castle I don’t know how Lord Sesshomaru can stand it” the other replied. “Tell me about it but you know I bet she would be a good concubine” and they both laughed why walking down the hall.

“Rin are you alright” a young female demon called Ishu walked behind her and could tell that something was wrong. Rin turned around and small tears soon where coming down the side of her face. She ran up to Ishu and wrapped her arms around her Rin was now balling in tears. Ishu happened to be assigned by Sesshomaru to take care of Rin sort of like a mother would take care of her child. Even though Ishu was a demon she grew quite fond of Rin over the last month.

“Hey what’s the matter” Ishu asked her why Rin was getting tears all over Ishu’s kimono. Rin looked up, her eyes where all red from crying “do…do…do everybody hate me” she asked between whimpers. Ishu bent down so she was eye level with Rin and wiped away the girls tears with her sleeve. “No, everybody doesn’t hate you I don’t and Lord Sesshomaru doesn’t even Jaken does not hate you” she told Rin. “Why are you asking did someone tell you they don’t like you” she asked Rin. Rin sniffed “No but I heard two demons talking and they said bad things about me” and she started crying again. Ishu held her tight, she felt sorry for Rin she knew that Rin wouldn’t be very well liked because she was a human.

Their where some demons who didn’t mind her but that was because if they disrespected her Sesshomaru would deffiently deal with them. Though their where others who weren’t to keen on having a human in the castle. Especially the female demons they where jealous that this human girl was allowed to be close to their master and they weren’t. Ishu knew though that her lord had some reasons why he would allow Rin to live in his home. Sesshomaru was known as the demon who despised humans in every way. He didn’t care about them and he would just kill them just for the pleasure of it. But when Ishu looked down at the weeping girl in her arms she didn’t get why her lordship had disposed of this one human girl.

Was their something about Rin that made him not want to kill her or was their another reason to it. Ishu thought maybe Sesshomaru had that one little bit in him which would care for only one human just like his father did. Could the great lord of the west maybe one day end up having some feelings for the girl. Ishu noticed that Rin had stopped crying and had now fallen asleep in her arms. She picked the girl up and took her to the young girls bedroom to put her to bed.

During the night when Rin was asleep in her large comfy bed she didn’t realise that someone was in the room with her. Looking down at her Sesshomaru was glad that his ward was alright. He had thought maybe something might have happened to her in his absence. Though when he saw her sleeping in her bed he was rather relieved for some reason. It was the first time that he went some where without her. When he had returned Ishu had told him of the incident that happened that day in the hallway. When the part about Rin crying and what she was crying about most displeased him. He knew that some of his servants would have disliked him bringing her here and that they would speak terrible things about her. However he was the lord and he did as he pleased, Sesshomaru didn’t care what his servants would think.

“I’m sorry” he said in a mire whisper and then left the girls to her dreams. When he got back to his chambers he could smell a scent which smelt of flowers. Their on his pillow was a crown made out of white daisies. He sat on his bed and picked the crown up he remembered how Rin would always make a flower crown for herself why they where on their travels. He could tell Rin had put a lot of hard work in making it for him. He then heard a knock on his door “you may enter”. Jaken walked in and saw his master sitting on his bed and was holding something in his hand.

“Milord I am glad that you are back and safe” he said, “Jaken did you know that Rin was crying today” he asked his servant. “Uh uh well no I didn’t” Jaken was not going to like where this was going. “Tell me what where you doing LEAVING HER BY HERSELF” he stood up and looked very scary. “I told you specifically not to leave Rin alone did you not understand me” he walked towards Jaken. “Ye yeas milord but their was a problem at the stables and I needed to see to it please forgive me forgive me” Jaken was on his hands and knees. Sesshomaru looked at him, he just wanted to roll Jaken into a ball and toss him out the window. “I will let you go this once Jaken but if you do it again you will not be so lucky do you understand” he was now talking in his normal stern voice. “Yes milord I wont do it again” Jaken replied he then quickly left Sesshomaru’s room.

Jaken was walking down the hall he had never seen Sesshomaru so angry before. He was very lucky to come out of their alive.

It was a week later and Sesshomaru was on one of his normal scouting’s making sure their was nothing wrong on his lands. He had left Rin in Ishu’s care because he had taken Jaken along with him. Rin was a bit upset that she couldn’t go with him but when Ishu said she needed to go into the near by village that made Rin happy. Ishu had to get some fabrics for the curtains she was making. She could have gotten one of the other servants to do it for her but she liked getting the fabrics herself.

The village she was going to happened to be a village for demons Ishu hopped that Rin would be alright with that. But when she saw the smile on Rin’s face when she told her Ishu knew that Rin could handle it. When Rin heard that some of the demons in the castle didn’t like her she got over it rather quickly. She knew now that it wasn’t going to be all that easy fitting in because she was human. Even if the village they where going to was full of demons she was going to be brave and not let all the crewed comments get to her.
