Taijina watched as the last of the assassins fell down in a bloody heap. InuYasha had gone far beyond killing them. He had tortured them to death and even after he had ripped their body to shreds. They where no longer even recognizable as anything more then bloodied body parts. One problem left, dealing with InuYasha’s demon blood. Without the Miko there was little chance of calming his beast down.

“InuYasha,” Taijina said as he finally turned from his bloody mess to look at her. His eyes where no longer golden, just red as his beast slowly accessed her. “Don’t do it.”

Barely evading his bloody claws, Taijina knew there was little chance of escaping. Hoping she could evade him long enough until he tired out she saw no other choice of escape. His dark laughter rang thru her ears as she ran thru the forest to escape him, effectively leading him away from the village. Once he came to his senses he would at least not smell blood of humans on his claws.

“Can’t we talk about this InuYasha?” Taijina gasped as she dodged another attack.

“Blades of blood!” InuYasha screamed as he threw the deadly blood blades her way. Taijina stared at them like a doe caught in head lights when she felt her body being moved.

“Do you wish to die?” Sesshomaru asked as he set her aside after he rescued her.

“You,” was all she was able to say as he attacked InuYasha head on. Shock settle in as she watched them fight. While InuYasha’s strikes where aimed to kill, Sesshomaru’s where only meant to subdue. Soon InuYasha was restrained, and with one final blow to the back of his neck he was out cold. “What the moons? Please explain to me what I just witness?”

“A thank you would seem to be in order,” he replied, as he used his foot to roll InuYasha on his back.

“Thank you for saving me Lord Sesshomaru,” Taijina said, never taking her eyes off of him. “But why?”

“Why indeed,” Sesshomaru said, his voice remaining emotionless as always, ticking Taijina off. “Maybe I pity him. As to why I saved you, you are still apart of my pack. Even though you rarely act like it.”

“Of course,” she snorted, as she wore off the shock effect. “You know the Miko cannot come back now. The well was her mode of transportation.”

“You are trying to convince me the well contains some sort of magic?” Sesshomaru replied, sounding bored.

“Actually that is entirely what I am trying to tell you,” she huffed as she knelt down by InuYasha, opening his eyelid to check their color. “Back to Golden.”

“Then where does it lead to?” Sesshomaru asked, as he tried to sound not to interested, which for him was easy.

“How should I know!” Taijina screamed at him, waking InuYasha. “Oh, InuYasha, are you alright?”

“What the hell happened?” he asked in a daze as Taijina helped him up. “Taijina? What the hell are you doing back?”

“That seems to be everyone’s question,” Sesshomaru sneered as he leaned on a tree across from them, his arm folded.

“Sesshomaru? Am I in a crazy dream?” InuYasha gaped as he stared between the two Inu-Youkai. “Anyone care to explain?”

“Hold that thought,” Taijina said as she ran over to the discarded Tetsusaiga, and placed it back in his hands. “Hopefully the seal on the sword will keep your demon blood under control while I tell you what has happened.”

“Is it that bad?” InuYasha asked as he laid the untransformed Tetsusaiga in his lap.

“Kagomeistrappedbackinherworldwithnowaytocomeback,” she replied in one breath. Closing her eyes she waited for InuYasha’s demon blood to take back over, but was shocked once more when she smelt the salt of his tears. “Inu…Yasha?”

“She’s gone back to her own time forever,” he sobbed, as he put his head in his hands.

“Own time?” Taijina replied confused as she stared at InuYasha sobbing. “InuYasha where is the Miko truly from?”

“Five hundred years in the future,” he sobbed.

“Fiv…five..hundred years??” she stuttered. “Impossible! Improbable! Wow.”

“Surely you do not believe this,” Sesshomaru said.

“It’s true,” InuYasha sighed. “I’ve been there. I know.”

“So all is not lost,” Taijina said, looking for the silver lining in this very dark cloud. “It has just been postponed for five hundred years. Oh no, they could still attack her in the future as well. They will wait for her to return to her own time with the jewel and destroy her then.”

“Who?” InuYasha growled, his eyes tinting red.

“Not until you calm down,” she replied as she stood up. “Come your friends will be worried.”

“This is as far as I go without further explanation,” Sesshomaru said, awaiting for Taijina to obey his unspoken command.

“Fine,” Taijina smirked as she helped InuYasha up. “See if I care.”

Sesshomaru watched as she helped InuYasha back to the village. Standing his ground he sat down and awaited her return. InuYasha remained silent on the way back to the village. Miroku and Sango awaited him at Kaede’s hut.

“You shall be safe with your friends,” Taijina declared as she handed InuYasha over to Miroku. “I shall return later. Right now I need to deal with the Cold hearted bastard.”

“Sesshomaru wouldn’t like to hear you talking about him like that,” InuYasha laughed as he leaned on Miroku for support. “You will come back and tell me who I need to kill to avenge Kagome.”

“Maybe,” she smirked. “Good-bye InuYasha.”

“Feh,” he snorted as he watched her go. The brought him into the hut where Sango attended to his wounds. They sat in silence just staring at each other.

“Shippo is gone with Kagome,” Miroku sighed. “We have lost them both.”

“Can’t we just reconstruct the well?” Sango suggested as she fought the tears threaten to fall.

“Nay child,” Kaede sighed. “The magic of the well is now gone. We can only hope that Kagome and Shippo both made it safely out of the other side before the destruction of the well.”

“You mean,” InuYasha gasped as he paled at the thought Kaede brought to mind. “She could be dead?”

“Aye.”
