----

Kagome woke up. Just another Tuesday morning, boring as always. The sun was out; the air was fresh.

“It’s going to be a beautiful day today.” She smiled.

As she walked downstairs, toothbrush in hand, she couldn’t help but notice everyone’s rushing faces.

“Souta, what’s wrong?” she goggled.

“Kagome? Mom Kagome’s up!” he screamed.

“Oh, Kagome. I’m sorry sweetie. I must have dozed off last night and I woke up late today.” She said sadly.

“Wait, what do you mean?” Kagome asked.

“Its 10:30 girl, go get dressed. Sango came by, and I told her you were asleep.” Grandpa muttered.

“And you didn’t wake my up!” she screamed.

“You looked so peaceful Kagome, like you were dreaming of someone, so I didn’t bother.” her mother winked.

Kagome blushed, “ Really? Wait, why should that matter? I have a huge test today gramps, you should have woken me up!” she screamed.

Kagome charged upstairs. She managed to bathe, get dressed, and brush her hair in only fifteen minutes.

“Good thing her mother was such a fast worker or she wouldn’t know where she would have got her amazing speed.” She laughed.

“Well that was fast,” her mom smiled.

“Mom, I have to go. But thanks for the muffin,” she rushed.

“But wait..” he mom muttered.

Kagome stopped in her tracks. Her mom was the only one she really trusted and respected above others. Stopping to listen to some quick advice, she knew, wouldn’t harm her in any way; so she listened.

“We are having our annual dinner party today, with all the neighbors. Please don’t forget to come home early dear,” she smiled.
“Oh, mom. But I have to go!” She smiled back rushing down the stairs and out the door in five seconds, the fastest in years.

“Oh my, who knew Kagome was that fast, she’s even faster than me,” her mom laughed.

**

Kagome was halfway to school running. Boy she was fast. She had taken cross country and track in junior high for two years last year and the year before that; she was proud.

The school was in view. How disappointing. Even though she was late, she figured there was no point arriving unfashionably. She gently straightened her skirt and combed her hair down with her fingers. English class was boring, really boring, but it was also one of the most important classes in school; so she walked in unexpectedly.

“Welcome Ms. Higurashi, your late. Why?” her teacher asked.

“Sorry Mr. Mammoto, I had a problem waking up this morning.” She muttered.

“Well don’t let it happen again Kagome, two more strikes and you out.” He said angrily.

“Never again sir,” she frowned.

Kagome walked to her seat. She opened her eyes widely as a young fox girl looked at her with stunning green eyes.

“Excuse me, what do you think your doing?” The girl asked.

“Oh Kagome, I’m sorry, that’s Ayame’s seat now. We moved seats, you sit next to out new student, Sesshomaru.” He pointed.

She turned around blankly, that name sounding familiar, but nothing hit her until she saw his stunning clear crystal face. Her eyes opened widely as the young fellow from yesterday gave her a mean glare.

She quickly sat down. Throwing her books on the floor she opened her notebook and watched the chalkboard carefully, aware of the huge glare her classmate was giving her.

“Is there something wrong Sesshomaru?” she whispered.

“Yeah, there is. Out of all the seats I had to be put in, why did it have to be next to you?” he muttered.

“Excuse me?” she asked.
“You heard me bitch, I never repeat myself.” He ordered.

What was going on? First the weird stare from that Ayame girl. She was a bitch by the sound of her voice, Kagome could tell. But she was still staring at me?

Kagome turned around, scared shit less. As she looked three seats behind her she noticed the eyes of the wolf girl glaring right at her, it sent chills down her spine. She turned around quickly trying as hard as possible to avoid her other glaring neighbor.

“Will you stop it? Don’t you remember me, Kagome?” she muttered.

He stopped to stare at her, his face in confusion.

“Shut up girl, I’m trying to study.” He whispered angrily.

“What? You know you’re a jerk!” she screamed.

“Kagome, why are you screaming at our new student?” the teacher asked.

Everyone turned around to see the strange girl sanding up, her mouth wide open, her face completely embarrassed.

“Kagome? Why don’t you go wait outside, get some fresh air.” He asked.

“Thank you Mr. Mammoto,” she whispered as she picked up her stuff and walked outside.

The day went by fast after that. Surprisingly she didn’t see any of her friends, which only made the day more faster, and even stranger.

Walking home was the worst part of the day. Her mother had always said it was easier walking there than walking home, it was always horrible when she was right.

It was scary after school, especially when she was by herself. Kagome decided to take a walk by the park instead; hopefully it was a short cut.

Even though around here after three wasn’t considered late. To Kagome it was considered the latest. The clouds had unexpectedly hid the sun, and the sky seemed darker than usual.

Kagome yelped as she was quickly turned around by a dark figure.

“Your Kagome right?” she asked.

“Um yeah?” she sighed, relieved, the voice resembled a girl.

“Well then listen up,” she yelled.

Kagome shrieked in pain as the girl’s claws dug deep into her skin.

“Sesshomaru is mine, you got it. So stop flirting with him or you’ll have to pay the consequences.” She said roughly.

Wait what? Was this happening again? Another girl threatening to beat her up over a stupid chat with one guy?

“Are you serious?” Kagome murmured.

“Hell yeah I am!” She screamed.

The sun came into view and Kagome got a better glimpse at the young fox girl.

“Ayame?” she asked.

“Yeah, and what about it? You better have listened to be girl, or I’ll have to seriously injure you.” She threatened.

Kagome fumed. Enough was enough. Kikiyo had done the same thing last year when she had only asked Inuyahsa for a measly pencil in art class. It was all about stupid teenage girls thinking they could claim boys like territory, and she ended up getting him in the end anyway! And besides that Kikiyo got what she wanted, either way she always did.

Ayame focused her eyes on Kagome as tears wept down the young girls face. Ayame stared in shock, as Kagome was about to explode.

“Now you listen up Ayame! I really don’t appreciate you bullying me like this over some stupid guy I don’t even really no, nor find really attractive! If you honestly think I’m going to let this go on then your damn right crazy!” She fumed.

Kagome was mad. No she was damn right serious. She swore to Ayame if this ever happened again, there would definitely be trouble. Kagome laughed to herself as the fox demon ran for her life from the deranged girl. Kagome swore she was half mutt, considering she had her tail running between her legs.

Kagome laughed at the thought, but then jumped in worry as the sun was setting at it was getting dark.

“The dinner party oh shit!”

Kagome sprinted home. The air rushing against her face, her squirt rising up not caring that the world could have seen her pink floral underwear.

She got there late, really late. Her mother’ disappointed face was evidence enough. Kagome quickly dropped down her stuff and ran upstairs. Changing into her special dinner outfit was a piece of cake.

She giggled at herself as the memories of buying this outfit where a good one. Sango had insisted that a short black nightdress and some black pumps would fit any occasion especially when the price was as cheap as twenty-five bucks. Slipping this one on had always made Kagome fell sexy, but never too much. It was just an original dress that always fits her body perfectly, making her always feel like a young woman.

Kagome walked downstairs. The house was full, crowded, and loud. Guests were everywhere. She had never really understood how her mother could have so many friends when she rarely talked to anyone, and never went outside except to take her morning walks, or to pick up Souta from school.

Kagome yelped in surprise as her mother suddenly dragged her to the dining room, only expecting that would be where the drama was.

“Kagome I want you to meet Inuyasha and his step brother Sesshomaru. They just moved around the corner.” She smiled.

“What!” She screamed.

“Oh, hey Kagome nice to see you too.” Inuyasha smiled.

“Wait do you three no each other?” her mother asked.

“Well we all go to the same school mom,” Kagome said angrily.

“Oh great! That saves me the time of introducing all of you.” She smiled gratefully.

Kagome watched as her cheerful mother walked away peacefully, unaware of the huge staring contest that went on between the small triangle.

“So Inuyasha, I didn’t see you at school today.” Kagome questioned.

“Oh, about that. I..I felt sick, you know headache flu.” He smiled.

Sesshomaru watched as Inuyasha moved to Kagome’s side, trying to give her a kiss on the cheek as an apology. Kagome moved away, feeling quite suspicious as to why he was acting like this.

Headache flu? What bull.” She thought angrily.

He must know that I know what happened yesterday, right? Or is he too stupid to think he can just get away with something like that?

The two young men watched Kagome’s face change, her eyes staring at the ground. Sesshomaru knew she was talking to herself again. They watched in surprise as the young girl ran upstairs completely confused, this was enough drama for one day.

“Hm, what’s got into her?” Inuyasha asked.

“Idiot.” Sesshomaru whispered under his breath.

The young youkai watched his idiot of a half brother go to the nearest table and pick up a plate of food. Feeling curious Seshomaru walked upstairs.

Kagome sat on her bed, her eyes throbbing from the lost of so many tears, her heart ached, and she felt used and depressed.

“Why do they both have to be such jerks.” She protested.

“We both aren’t both” said the young voice.

Kagome lifter her head form her arms as Sesshomaru walked in her room.

“What the hell do you think you doing? Get out!” she screamed.

Kagome looked in shock as the young youkai covered her mouth with his own and roughly kissed her tender lips.

Kagome eyes widened as she felt her body melting with the smallest sign of his touch. She was sure to give in until she thought about the incident with Ayame and broke off the tender moment.

“Wait, why are you acting this way?” She asked.

“What do you mean?” he asked, his fingers running through her hair, wiping the small traces saliva off her lips.

“You where such a jerk to me in class today, and the whole thing with Ayame?” she whispered.

Sesshomaru watched as the young girl frowned.

“Listen Kagome. That’s just how I act around everyone. I mean if I don’t, then everyone will think they can walk all over me,” he said.

“I didn’t think that, not for a second,” she smiled.

“Of course, I know.” He smiled back.

He leaned in to kiss her tenderly. Closing their eyes they both shared to what Kagome would call it, something like love.

“What the hell is this Kagome?” said Inuyasha.

They both backed away, shock showing in only one of their faces..
