Whispers were thrown around the room carelessly, and Kagome could do nothing more than stand like a deer caught in headlights. She could feel her knees weaken, and her blood thin causing her to feel the weight of dizziness take hold of her senses. She was on the brink of fainting, and she knew it. It was all Kagome could do to keep her eyes glued to Sesshoumaru as he made his way to her callously. As he neared her, a wily grinned replaced his unperturbed features. Kagome began to quake as he stood only inches from her. His breath warmed her face, and his body seemed to sway, causing their bodies to touch ever so slightly. Yet those slight touches caused her body to burn like fire. More whispers flooded the room at the manner of their closeness, most with bitter jealousness towards Kagome. She jumped when Sesshoumaru’s hand reached out, and took her arm roughly.
“My, what a small world…It’s been a while, Kagome.” He whispered cunningly. His voice low and almost monotone, just as Kagome remembered it to be. Sesshoumaru’s voice was unmistakable to any that had the pleasure of hearing it. It was sensual, and devious. One could only imagine what it would sound like to hear him whisper soft words of love. His commonly used voice alone was enough to ignite an orgasm or so many women thought.
Sesshoumaru released Kagome’s arm, and gestured to the nearest unoccupied seat with a sly grin.
“Take your seat.” He said finally loud enough for the bystanders in the class to hear.
Chills surged through Kagome’s body, rendering her motionless. She gazed at his hand with heavy breaths, and unconsciously rubbed her forearm where it burned from his hot and rough touch.
Sesshoumaru smirked to himself. He had not imagined that he would have this affect on this frail being as he did. She was on the verge of total heart failure in his presence, and it excited him immensely. Holding in the smile that dared to grace his lips was a great task. Though, his hands were another matter. They occupied themselves, with the rim of his suit jacket, unnoticeable to the students in the room, but not to Yuri.
Yuri stared on in bewilderment. She could not help but get the feeling that this was not the first meeting between the two. Mr. Tashio had confronted Kagome in the most disrespectful manner known to the schools prideful curtsy, and Kagome…She reacted with fright. One that Yuri did not think possible. She could only imagine what the man could have done to make Kagome so uneasy when touched by his near to perfect hand. Perhaps it was just that. Yuri could not deny that if she were to be touched by the hand of such beauty, she would have handled herself no better.
“Miss, Higurashi take your seat. I will not ask you again.”
Yuri stood instantly, when Kagome took a firm hold onto the corner of the nearest desk to her left, suddenly.
Kagome could feel her skin tingle as her body became numb. She could not even feel the smooth surface of the desk she so desperately clenched to for support. The very corner of her eyes blurred, creating a slim tunnel for her to keep focus on Sesshoumaru pale hand as he held it out unyielding. Soon though, his hand too, was only a disfigured blur. The only light left to her faded in to darkness, but before the last pigment diminished a soft hand took hers firmly, beckoning her back to reality.
“Kagome…are you alright…you look as though you have seen a ghost.”
Yuri pulled Kagome into the seat next to hers, and ran the back of her hand across the lining of Kagome’s forehead.
“Would you believe me if I told you I have?” Kagome whispered taking Yuri’s hand from her forehead.
Yuri gave a slight chuckle, but she quickly stopped when she was given a stern look from her friend.
Kagome returned her eyes to the tall dark figure that plagued her mind, and she held them there for the remainder of the class. She was sure he knew her eyes were on him, for once every few minutes, he would glance her way. One would only think that he was merely keeping eye contact with all the students in the room. However when he would meet eyes with Kagome she felt much more. His eyes bore into her soul for reasons she could not figure.
As Sesshoumaru continued his lecture Kagome spaced off, staring deep into his almost golden eyes. Memories ran ramped. All the times she had run into him back in the feudal era, she never once talked more than a few words. Even then they were words such as, arrogant, vicious, emotionless, and so on. She could not figure why he acted as he did when she walked into the room. The old Sesshoumaru would not have given her the pleasure of a welcome. He would have simply paid her no mind. He acted as if they had some sort of connection, other than that of mere unfriendly acquaintance. However the one question that baffled her most was why was he here? Now? In this class? Was he some reincarnation? Or had he just lived a very, very long life.
“Is that right Miss Higurashi?” Sesshoumaru asked only a few inches from her face. She had not noticed that he drew himself closer to her between each statement.
She snapped out of her thoughts and stared right into his captivating eyes.
“Umm…”
She was at a loss of words. Sesshoumaru drew her face closer to his with the soft pad of his pointer finger. He whispered his words, yet the whole class was able to hear.
“Stop daydreaming, and pay attention.”
Goose bumps covered her body. She nodded her head in complete embarrassment. He had managed to sneak up on her unexpectedly.
“Thank you.”
Kagome almost gasped when she heard those words leek from his mouth. Never had he dared say such words, even if they dipped with sarcasm. His old self would not take the time or effort to show some gratitude. Aw, who was she kidding he had to be somewhat polite. He’s a damn school teacher.
Kagome glared Sesshoumaru down as he roamed the room continuing his lesson on the feudal era. Kagome nearly snickered. What a fitting profession. He was dealing with the human race educating them on the era he knew like the back of his hand.
“BING!”
Kagome Stood instantly. The bell!
“Sit Miss Higurashi.”
“But the bell rang.”
Sesshoumaru smirked.
“The bell does not dismiss you…I do. Now sit. You will be staying after class.”
“But” She wined.
“The rest of you may go.”
Yuri stood, giving Kagome a nervous glance.
“I’ll be fine.” Kagome sighed.
Yuri nodded. “Ok, I’ll see ya when you get home.”
“Ok.”
With that Yuri grabbed her things and left the room, leaving the door open.
The students rushed from the room, all but a few, who gathered around Sesshoumaru giggling like school girls, which they were. Natalie was at the front of the group, and of course was the first to speak.
“So Mr. Tashio, do you have a wife?”
Sesshoumaru lifted an eyebrow, and glanced at Kagome who was just as eager to hear his answer. Would anyone want to be Sesshoumaru’s lover? He was so harsh, and cruel. He would most likely beat his wife if he did.
“No, I do not.”
The girls squealed.
“Do you want one?”
Natalie ran her finger down his chest, giving him a seductive smile.
Kagome snickered. Now they would get theirs. No one touched Sesshoumaru, especially a human. She waited for his move.
“Kagome and I have a few things to discuses.”
Sesshoumaru removed Natalie’s hand from his person, and turned his attention to Kagome.
Kagome could not believe it. They were still alive. Her mouth hung open like there was no tomorrow, causing Sesshoumaru to smile. He used the tips of his fingers to push her mouth closed, but he did not remove his hand right away. His thumb caressed her cheek.
“That is not a good look for you, Kagome.” He whispered.
He released her face, a bit sad for the loss of her warmth in his hand. Kagome shivered. His hand was so soft, but cold.
The girls gasped. Natalie huffed and drew Sesshoumaru’s attention towards her, calling his name. Kagome felt a needle pierce her heart when his eyes left hers to look at that snob, her rival, the BITCH!
“So, if I am a bad girl, I will get to stay after class with you?” Natalie pouted childishly.
“Leave girls. This is Friday your early out day.”
Natalie laughed, and tapped her finger on the tip of his nose.
“Ok, play hard to get.”
She and her gang strolled to the door.
“I will see you later.” She snickered, leaving.
Sesshoumaru took a deep breath, and closed the door behind them. He then turned to Kagome who had a bitter facial expression.
“Why the face?”
Kagome glared him down.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
Sesshoumaru took a stool out from behind his desk and patted the seat.
“Take a seat.”
Kagome hesitated, but did as he said, never taking her eyes from his.
“Kagome, I would like a little respect in this class room. Be on time, and don’t make a big scene.”
Sesshoumaru circled her form.
“Oh, I am sorry .I thought that was what you wanted.” She sneered.
A pair of arms circled around Kagome’s form. She could feel Sesshoumaru’s breath on her neck as he whispered.
“That is for after class.”
He nudged his nose against her ear, and tightened his hold around her.
“I have missed you.” He whispered again.
Kagome broke from his grasp and ran to the door, but before she could turn the handle Sesshoumaru had her pinned.
“Please let me go…”
Sesshoumaru frowned. There was fear in her voice, and her body shook.
“I am sorry…please forgive me.”
“For what …”Her words were blurred with quiet sobs.
Sesshoumaru tilted his head. Had it not happened yet?
“Lift you shirt.”
Kagome’s lip quivered and tears formed in her eyes.
“Why?” She cried.
Sesshoumaru took a grasp of her shirt, and slowly began to lift it inch by inch.
“Please don’t…please…”
“I am not going to hurt you, Kagome I just want to see.”
He lifted her shirt just below her boobs. He traced a line with his fingers diagonally under her right breast. He instantly pulled her in for hug. It was not there. It did not happen yet. There was time.
“When is the next time you back to the feudal era?”
Kagome froze, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Tomorrow.”
Her body shook more than before. This was all too much. Her sobs grew louder.
“Don’t go…please don’t.” Sesshoumaru pleaded.
