What Lies Ahead

Title: What Lies Ahead

Author: Kimisan/Aoshis_toy

Prompt: #2 Dark Path

A/N: I gave fair warning in the first chapter that this is a darkfic. All the proper warnings were stated. DO NOT READ IT IF THESE THINGS BOTHER YOU. I will not tolerate flames because you don't like the fact that Kagome was raped or someone dies or pricks their finger. Don't want to read then hit the back button now. Don't waste your time and mine. Also if you are going to try and rate it a 1, then atleast leave a review as to why. I don't appreciate a Kagome lover or someone that only likes fluff to look at it and get all pissy because I had her raped when they were warned. It's only going to get darker as more chapters are added. It's for a dark community, it's not going to be sweet. Now, with that said reviews and mature critism are appreciated.

Talk was of the normal variety as the large group sat in the dark blue room. Yomi was leaning back in his chair with legs crossed looking very comfortable. As well he should be, if anyone would be comfortable in Gandara it would be it’s former owner. Some said he still owned it but Enki had been dwelling there until last month. If things went his way he’d be back in his home by next week. The tournament was starting in under a week. Youkai were already starting to gather around to prepare for the event. The second in history, one they wouldn’t soon forget. It was time to see if the training with Shura would finally pay off. Said boy had gotten a few inches taller and was standing next to his father listening into the conversation eagerly. While he wasn’t that old he had the mentality of an adult already.

“I’ve heard rumor of some more coming that had been in self isolation. If so I don’t think this year’s will be like the last one. I suggest you all take precaution.” Kurama looked towards his friends that had attended the meeting as well. While he didn’t know some of them, because they were old friends of Raizen’s, he didn’t want to see any of them die. It would be pointless to waste their lives here. Yomi looked too sure of himself for his liking. He really didn’t care about Mukuro the woman could hold her own. Green eyes swayed to the hybrid sitting on the window sill. Hiei hadn’t stated if he planned to enter or not. No doubt the man would if only to test his limits. While the koorime rated as an S class there were still those that were more powerful. He didn’t have any plans to join in this time around but would stay and watch the proceedings.

Hiei snorted but didn’t turn from his previous position. No doubt more would come, all wanting their chance at power. It was something he really didn’t care for. Ruling was not for him, though he would enter. If only to test himself against those that were stronger. The only way to improve is to push yourself past the limit. He really didn’t care who won this time as long as he wasn’t stuck on border patrol for another three years. The job was dull and boring. Perhaps he should return to the Ningenkai and remain. Wasn’t much left for him here either. It was only a temporary home to him, not where he really belonged. While he had bonded a strong friendship with Mukuro, it wasn’t going to be enough to keep him at her side forever. He wanted more but was unsure of what it was.

“Is Urameshi planning on participating?” Yomi let his eyes linger to the fox. Most of Raizen’s previous friends were already there, all except the man’s heir. He’d love to go head to head with the cocky boy again. Had he improved any over the last four years? This year he should be able to hold out long enough to make it to the finals. Unless he was pitted against Mukuro early on. His son should do well also this time around. “I see he hasn’t arrived yet.”

“Yusuke will not be attending I’m afraid. He’s recently gotten married and is with his wife. You won’t be seeing much of him for another couple of decades. I’m sure after Keiko is gone he might come back to the Makai. He’s now dedicated his life to the girl.” Kurama saw Yomi’s look of amusement. The man probably thought it foolish to waste time and passion on another. Yet, Yusuke loved his wife so it was understandable he’d want to remain by her side. Hadn’t he done the same for his human mother. While he still left to do as he pleased, he still planned to stay in the Ningenkai until Shiori was gone.

Hiei stared out into the dark pink sky. The weather had suddenly taken a turn for the worse. Was it simply a storm brewing or an ominous warning? The lightning flashed and struck something off in the distance. The loud rumble sounded like a deep unsated hunger. He’d fight in the tournament long enough to test himself then withdraw. One of the people in the room with him would most likely win this time. He’d be okay with that.

The loud clap brought the sleeping miko bolting straight up. Her head swam as the world began to spin. Groaning her hands went to the throbbing temples. She was drawing a complete blank when she tried to figure out why she felt so horrid. Her stomach was on fire and her throat felt like someone had been using it as a scratch post. The back of her eyelids felt like sand paper as she tried to open them. A thick film of mucus coated the dull blue eyes. Hands went to rubbing as she let her ears pick up on any sound. Someone was walking around to her left. Where was she? What was the last thing she remembered?

“I see you are awake.” The deep voice made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. Horror filled as the nightmare came rushing back, except she was still in it. Blinking a few times brought her vision into focus to show her the tall man some feet away. He was sitting at a table that was filled with several weapons. The thin blue lips were pulled in a evil smile as he picked up one of the long blades. Kagome didn’t scream like she wanted instead she looked around the room. If he wanted her dead she would be, that she was sure of. What did he want from her? Hadn’t he done enough?

The room was made of wood, the smell of it surrounded her on all sides. Were they in some type of cabin? There was a small bathroom off to the side, she could see the crude toilet. The only things in the dwelling were the table he was sitting at and the bed. There was one free chair that one of his feet was now resting upon. She couldn’t sense anyone else around. A tearing pain in her side made her look down. The first thing she noticed was her undressed state then the freshly healed scar in her side. Where was it? Fear filled her as her eyes flickered back up towards the dragon. The faint black glow could be seen buried in his chest. “Why? You can’t use it.”

“Really? What you mean to say is that no one but you can. There is a way around everything. Soon I will have everything I want. I’ve managed to survive the blow your pathetic hanyou dealt me. Only to live long enough to get my hands on the jewel that he coveted. To make things all the more sweet, I got my hands on the girl he loved. But we both know I’ve touched with more than just my hands. Ah, I see that you are remembering, good. Enma thought by warding it to your soul that it would force youkai and humans alike to give up being unable to tap into it’s power. Unlike all those others I am not some whelp that doesn’t know my ass from a hole in the ground. Those idiots in the Reikai over looked one small detail. With a complete bound between you and another, it joins not only us as mates but my soul to yours. So you see my dear miko, the ward no longer applies to me. With our souls connected I too can tap into the power.” He smiled when the lips opened in shock then despair. She’d soon know her place and that there was no escaping him.

“No, I won’t let you use it.” Kagome shook her head in denial. There couldn’t be a way around the ward. The jewel should have been safe from this. Those in charge couldn’t be so stupid as to leave that large of an oversight. Is that what she’d felt happening to her? Had that been what she felt entering her? Had he really managed to bond his soul with her own? She did feel somewhat different but it had to be from the drugs he’d given her. To believe that this freak had the jewel was too much. She doubted he was as sadistic as Naraku but it meant having to get it back. Was Koenma aware of what was happening?

“There is nothing you can do. Or do you not understand the predicament you are in? You are now my mate, your power comes from your soul. There is no way for you to purify me. Unless you think you are capable of coming over here and taking me down with brute force alone.” The girl couldn’t get the jewel back from him. It was embedded beneath his skin which was harder than steel. The only one that could kill him with the jewel was the girl by purifying him and it. Now that option was gone. She’d have to be able to send her powers through him to reach the jewel but with him being immune she was helpless. He had only one weakness, that was the girl sitting on the bed. His life was now attached to hers. As much as he didn’t want a mate this was more than worth the hassle. With her at his side he’d be the most powerful youkai in the Makai. While he’d been evenly matched with most of those he’d sensed, it wouldn’t have been enough to rule. Taking on one or two of the opponents he could do. If all were to come at him he’d die eventually. This plan ensured his winning.

Kagome didn’t want to believe it and the man looked to smug to be lying. The pain in her side dulled in comparison to the harsh ache in her heart. What if he was telling the truth? The dragon had been hard to kill with Inuyasha’s fang and even that had failed. How could they kill him now if he had the power of the jewel to back him up? Should she try to purify him? He didn’t look afraid of her nor worried of her retaliating. “You bastard, fine you got what you want. Let me go! You have no reason to keep me.”

“Hmph, I think not Sweetness. I have plenty of reasons to keep you. What kind of man would I be if I abandoned my mate?” He put the sword down upon the crude table. Might as well lay down a few ground rules while he had her attention. “You are to remain by my side do you understand? You belong to me now and will do as I say. I may not kill you but I can make you pray for death. As a general rule I detest humans. You are being given your only warning now. Try to run and I will find you. After I’ve taught you a lesson I will go to your human family that you left behind and bring them back here. I will force you to watch as they are eaten alive. Of course that will be after I rape your little brother. He’s not as pretty as you but I’m sure he’s just as tight. If by some slim chance you managed to make it back to the Ningenkai to get Koenma’s assistance know that I will enter after you and start killing every human that moves until you willingly come back to me.”

Kagome tried to squash the feeling of dread and remorse. Was there no way out for her? Would the man really attack her family and innocent people just because of her? She knew absolutely nothing about him except his name and that he’d been the one to kill Inuyasha’s father. The inu-youkai had only managed to seal him after receiving the wound that would end his life. The man was sadistic enough to rape her in a public place and kidnap her. There was no telling what he’d do.

“I see that you get the picture. In a few days the Makai Tournament will begin. I will be crowned the new King. You will obey me or others will suffer along with you.” The girl tried moving back as he approached the bed. The sash was released on his pants. Her eyes widened seeing his intent. She had nowhere to go as he knelt next to the bed. A box was pulled out as he dug through she was pressing herself against the headboard. Thankfully she’d slept for over two days while healing. Plenty of time for him to pick up a few supplies. Having her traumatized or bleeding daily from rutting was a situation he wanted to avoid. Grabbing the tube he sat on the edge of the bed. Claws wrapped around a slim ankle. “Now, you can make this easier on yourself or you can piss me off. I don’t expect you to ever enjoy my touch but you will allow it. I have no desire to tear you, it solves nothing. Please me by not fighting and I’ll make sure it’s as painless as possible.”

Kagome wanted to point out that really wasn’t giving her an option. It was either be raped brutally or allow him to degrade her. She knew either way there was no stopping him. Her pride demanded that she try to fight first. His word meant nothing she had to see for herself that she was helpless against him. The hands pulled her down the bed so she was laying on her back beneath him. The urge to fight him was strong. Physically she was nothing more than an insect to him. Narrowing her eyes she sought out the jewel. As he positioned himself between her parted thighs, she slapped her hand on his chest. His head turned to stare at her as her aura flared. Hope filled her briefly as it entered her outstretched palm. The smile never left his face as she sent her energy into the skin, aiming for the tainted jewel.

“I told you it was useless.” The energy entered him but was quickly absorbed having no effect on him or the Shikon. The blue eyes widened and the palm remained on his chest. Letting her finally accept the fact that there was nothing she could do, he applied some of the lubrication over his erection. The friction felt good as he stroked the length, covering it completely. The sooner she accepted things the better off she’d be. The girl didn’t move until the tip was pushing into the warm entrance. Balled fists hit at his face which were subdued easily with one hand. Let her fight, in the end the results would be the same. Soon, he’d have his empire and the girl would help him obtain what he desired.

Kagome closed her eyes as he held her immobile. There was no pain this time as he moved within her. She tried to imagine herself elsewhere as he did what he wanted. Was there any hope for her? What was this tournament he was talking about? She had no doubt whatever his plans were he would use the jewel to obtain them. Without wanting to she was helping him get what he wanted. Whatever dark and twisted path he was headed down, he was bringing her along for the ride and there was nothing she could do about it.
