The Rude Brother
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha, or any of the characters.
Chapter 2: The Rude Brother
Kagome decided that, after a two hour ride to Kikyo's, she should call her mom to tell her she is still alive.
"Hey mom!" Kagome said cheerfully into the phone.
"Oh, dear it's about time you called! I was getting worried!" Mrs. Higurashi replied.
Mrs. Higurashi was your typical mother. Whenever she wasn't with her children, she worried about them deeply. When Kikyo moved she cried for ever, and almost squeezed the life out of her poor daughter. When Kagome left to live with Kikyo, Mrs. Higurashi didn't spare her either. Kagome seriously thought she was a gonner for a second! Now, Sota was her only child still living with her, thank Kami he was only 10. But still, Mrs. Higurashi didn't know how long she could deal with not having her two 'baby girls.'
"Yeah mama, sorry, there was traffic on the way here." Kagome said calmly.
She heard her mother sigh. "So, Have you met Sesshomaru?" She finally asked. Kagome's mother had visited Kikyo and Sesshomaru a few times, and was there when Rin was born. Sota had even met the new family. Which caused Kagome to often curse school.
"Yes, he seems very nice, and I can't believe I have a niece. Rin is adorable." Kagome Replied.
"OH!" Mrs. Higurashi began, startling Kagome, "My Grand daughter!! Please put Rin on!! I haven't talked to her in about a month!" She finished, causing Kagome to sigh.
"Rin!!" She called, and almost immediately, the little black haired 5-year-old came running into Kagome's new room. "Here ya go, Grandma is on the phone."
Rin snatched the phone and a sweat drop appeared on Kagome's head.
"HELLO GRAN'MA!!!!!!" Rin said anxiously.
Kagome left them to talk and walked downstairs to the kitchen. Kikyo was now putting uncooked spaghetti into a large pot of boiling water.
"Oh, Kagome, I'm glad your down here." Kikyo began, "Here, can you put these on the table in the dining room?" She asked as she handed Kagome five plates.
Kagome gave a slight look of confusion. There were five plates, but four people. Sesshomaru, Kikyo, Rin and herself. Finally, she asked: "Kikyo, who is the fifth plate for?"
"OH! I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you. Sesshomaru's brother Inuyasha is coming over for dinner." Kikyo replied.
'Sesshomaru has a brother?'
Kagome shrugged and placed the plates on the dining room table.
"So, Sesshomaru has a brother?" Kagome asked as she walked back into the kitchen.
"Yeah. He works with Sesshomaru, and comes over for dinner to discuss business with him." Kikyo began, but then turned to Kagome with her hand on her hip and an angry expression on her face. "Actually, I guess I should say, 'he comes over to eat all of my food, and Sesshomaru tries to talk him into actually showing up to work for once!' That free loader ..." She added, turning to the oven to stir the contents of the pot.
Kagome giggled a bit, even though she thought that did kind of seem wrong of somebody to do.
Suddenly, young Rin walked into the room with a pout on her face, and her arms crossed.
"Mommy, Uncle pooy-head is here ..." She said, and hugged her mother's leg. "Please mommy! Make him leave!" She whined into Kikyo's jeans.
Kikyo knelt down to Rin's face. "Now now Rin. You know 'poopy-head' is not a very nice thing to call him." She began, and patted Rin on the head. "I'm sorry honey, but he's eating dinner with us again."
Rin stomped out of the room unsatisfied, and Kagome raised an eyebrow at Kikyo, who sighed.
"Ever since he wouldn't play 'tea party' with her when she was four, she disliked him." Kikyo said as she drained the spaghetti into a strainer.
"Oh ..." Kagome simply replied.
"Come on, I'll introduce you." Kikyo said, and grabbed Kagome's wrist, showing her into the living room.
There was a man with long silver hair sitting on the couch, obviously Sesshomaru's brother. Sesshomaru was blocking somebody from getting to the house, he had black hair. Sesshomaru's arms were crossed, and he seemed like he would kill the black haired man.
"Sesshomaru! Let Miroku in already!" Inuyasha shouted from his spot on the couch.
"No, this pervert is not welcome here!!" Sesshomaru replied.
Kikyo put her hand on Sesshomaru's shoulder, "Sesshy, its all right, you don't have to be so jealous. I am married to the most wonderful man in the world. Some dumb perv is not going to come between us." She said calmly, and Sesshoamru calmed down.
It was known that every woman who came across Miroku, would be victim to his infamous question: "Will you bear my children?"
Well, one day, he crossed the line by asking Kikyo, his best friend's brother's wife, to bear his child. Ever since then, Sesshomaru really didn't like Miroku being around his Kikyo.
Sesshomaru sighed. "Fine ..." He said, and after grabbing Kikyo around the waist he backed off, letting Miroku in.
"So possessive ..." Miroku mumbled, making his way to the couch.
Sesshomaru let out a slight growl. Kikyo gave him a quick peck, "Be a good boy now, I don't want any of daddy's bad actions influencing Rin."
"Besides grumpy, I'm engaged now, remember?" Miroku said, plopping himself onto the couch.
"Yeah. I just want to know what you black mailed Sango with to get her to say yes to you ..." Sesshomaru some what sarcastically said, but at the same time, he was serious.
"Oh ha ha. She knows she has always loved me." Miroku said in a confident tone. Every one just raised an eyebrow at him.
Kagome watched in confusion. Kikyo noticed, and explained every thing that happened between Sesshomaru and Miroku, and how Miroku had always hit on every woman, but still loved a young woman named Sango.
"She always acted like she hated him ... I guess she cared for him all along ..." Kikyo said, giving Miroku a soft smile, she always knew they would end up together. She knew love when she saw it.
"Interesting ..." Was all Kagome replied. She also couldn't help but feel envy. Miroku's story with Sango was so romantic, that is, besides the part where he groped her a million of times.
"So, Kikyo, whose this?" Kagome heard Inuyasha ask, and immediately turned to him. He was gorgeous. Like Sesshomaru, he had long silver hair, and golden eyes. For some reason, she was able to get lost in Inuyasha's eyes. She suddenly slipped into a daydream about kami knows what!
"Kags, did you here me?" Kikyo asked.
Kagome snapped out of her thoughts and looked at her sister. Obviously, she had missed what she said.
"Oh, sorry, I was um ... I just ..." Was all Kagome managed. She felt so dumb.
Inuyasha raised an eyebrow at Kikyo's sister. Kikyo was tying to talk to her, and she seemed to be staring at him! Soon, he found himself gazing back. She, after all, was a true beauty.
'Say somthing ...'
Inuyasha began laughing. "The stupid wench was off in la la land apparently Kikyo." He said, still chuckling at Kagome.
Inuyasha mentally kicked himself.
'Thats not what I wanted to say ...'
Kagome frowned.
'How dare he call me such a thing!!!'
Just then, Rin, who was playing with her dolls in a corner ran up to Inuyasha and kicked him in the leg.
"Ouch!!!!" He cried as he hopped on one leg, holding the knee that was violently kicked by his niece, "What was that for you little brat?!"
"Leave Aunty Kaggyme alone!!!!" Rin yelled and stuck out her toung at him.
"Oh shut up!" He yelled back.
At this moment, tears swelled up in Rins hurt golden eyes. She ran out of the living room, followed by a very angry Sesshomaru.
"Inuyasha you insensitve jerk!!" Kikyo began, and smacked Inuyasha hard across the face, "Don't talk to my daughter, OR my sister like that ever again!!!" She added, smacking him hard once more.
After leaving the stubborn man on the couch, with a large red mark on his face, Kikyo joined Sesshomaru in retreiving their daughter.
Kagome just stood there blinking. Part mad, part amused, and part startled at every thing that just happened.
Inuyasha sat on the couch, thinking of ways he could make up for that one. For some reason, this woman made him nervous ...
'Kami she is beautiful ...'
A/N: Okay, thank you for reading first of all. Second, I just want to varify, that Inuyasha Sango and Miroku will 18 like Kagome, all just graduating High school. ((yes, Sango and Miroku are getting married at 18!!!)) And, while I'm on the whole 'age' subject, I'll just remind you that Sesshoamru and Kikyo are both 25, and Rin is five.
