Chapter two
Chapter Two
“Okay Kagome let me see your schedule.”
Sango asked politely. Kagome handed the piece of paper in her hand to Sango.
“1st hour everyone has homeroom and you are lucky because we have the same homeroom teacher, Totosai. Oh just to warn you there is no grade separation in home all grades are mixed together the first hour of they day. By the way how old are you?”
Sango spoke really fast so it was hard for Kagome to catch the question Sango asked.
“Oh…I am 16 and will be turning 17 here in like a month.”
“What day is your birthday?”
Sango asked trying to keep some kind of communication going as they walked.
“November, 11th.”
“Groovy. Okay here we are room 208.”
Sango opened the door to the classroom. They both stepped in and the whole classroom looked up at them. The older man who was helping a student also stopped what he was doing to look up at the two. The man was short and frail looking, he had stark white hair above his lips and on his chin. The hair on his head was also stark white but thinning and pulled into a ponytail. He wore a plan brown suit with plain brown loafers the man also walked with a can that looked like a big mallet.
“Oh hello, my name is Totosai you must be Kagome.”
Totosai said as he hobbled over to her.
“Thank you Sango for helping her here, you may go take a seat now.”
Sango smiled at Totosai and took her seat in the back of the room. Totosai then motioned for Kagome to follow her to the front of the room, where his desk set. Sitting down in his rollin chair he looked up at Kagome through his pop bottle glasses and smiled. Kagome smiled in return and shifted her weight from her left foot to the other.
“Well this is homeroom, no matter what, this class will always be your first hour until you graduate. Class starts at 8:02 a.m. and gets out at 9:02 a.m. this is going to be your longest class of the day. It shouldn’t be hard though because I find myself to be quite a nice guy but I do have rules.
Rule number one, you are not to have more than eight tardies in one marking period or you will start to get detention for every tardy you have.
Rule number two, you have ten minutes before class starts and five minutes before class ends to goof off but everything in between you must have some kind of work to do. Except on Fridays that is our homerooms free day.
Rule number three, be respectful to others and yourself. You are here to get an education I except you to be considerate to others who are working. Well that is pretty much it on my rules. Are we clear on them all?”
Totosai said reaching into one of his draws and pulling out a spiral bound pink notebook
“Yes, I understand them.”
Kagome said shifting her weight one more time.
“Good, oh and another thing every Wednesday I have my homeroom write a journal, is a pink notebook okay with you?”
“Yes it is my favorite color.”
“Well that is good, with this notebook you can put whatever want on the cover as long as I can read your name clearly. For today I want you to write about where you are from why you moved here, but then after today the only day you can write in your journal is on Wednesday”
“Okay sounds good to me.”
Kagome said with a big smile because she knew exactly what she would draw on her notebook.

“Oh before you take a seat I want you to introduce yourself to the whole class and the class will introduce themselves to you. You shall go first, tell them your name and something about yourself.”
Totosai got the classes attention motioning for the roll call to go up and down the rows after he made it clear Kagome spoke.
“Hi y’all my name is Kagome and I am from Iowa.”
A boy on the left of the room stood up and said his name, He had shoulder length brown hair that was tied in a low ponytail. He wore really baggy blue jeans and a plain baggy white shirt with a light blue North Carolina hat cocked of to the left side of his head.
“Yeah…uhh my name is Miroku and I plan on being the next bes’ rapper out dare.”
The girl behind Miroku went.
“My name is Kikyo, I am this schools head varsity cheerleader.”
Kikyo had and err to her that Kagome new she wouldn’t like. Three more kids introduced themselves then it was Sangos turn.
“My birth name is Sango but I prefer to be called Rainbow peace, and I am a vegetarian.”
Kagome smiled at the unusual name Sango had said. After Sango went the two boys who blocked her way earlier this morning introduced themselves. Then came a small girl with long brown hair that was french braided. She had brown almost blacks eyes with pink glitter eye shadow. She wore a pink shirt that said ‘2 cute 4 u’ and a pair of light pink capri jeans.
“Hello my name is Rin, I too am a varsity cheerleader.”
Kagome could tell that Rin was sweeter than Kikyo but she still had that ‘I am better than you’ kind of attitude. Four other students said there name and what they loved to do then came a girl who was in the very seat in that row. She had very light blonde hair that was braided in several tiny braids all over her head, her hair must have come within a inch of the floor. She had a beautiful face but it was cold, she wore no make up but she did have three eyebrow rings in her right eye, the eye brow rings really brought attention to her eyes. One was solid black and the other was gold. She wore a black leather coat and a black AC/DC shirt. Her pants were plain boot cut blue jeans with old white sneakers.
“My name is Azuka, and you don’t need to know anything about me.”
This girl intimidated Kagome. She really seemed cold hearted. After Azuka sat down a girl in all black stood. She had black hair that was pulled into a bun on the back of her head. Her eyes were a color of red and so was her make-up. She wore a shirt that said ‘I’m sorry did I hurt your feelings? Here let me call you an ambulance.’ Under the words was a picture of an ambulance. She had black gothic pants that had a lot of chains hanging from them and she wore black high heel leather boots.
“My name is Kagora, I like hard rock like MSI.”
Before the next student could introduce herself, Inu Yasha whipped opened the door laughing.
“Nice to see you have decided to join us.”
Totosai said in major annoyance.
“Yeah, yeah.”
Inu said as he walked to his seat and sat down.
“I hope you have that kind of attitude today after school when you and I get to spend a whole hour of quality time.”
“What? Oh man not detention again!”
“You bet cha’. Oh by the way this is Kagome she is our new student.”
Totosai said as he pointed to Kagome.
“Yeah I know we have already met, haven’t we sweetheart?”
Inu Yasha said with a devilish grin on his face. The class all started to hoop and holler like he had just scored the winning point in a football game.
“Oh hold on y’all it ain’t what y’all are thinking!”
Kagome stammered out above the crowed while blushing a deep shade of red. That is when she noticed that not everyone thought it was funny. Kikyo was what seemed to be the only one glaring at Kagome as if she had committed the worst crime in the world.
“That is ENOUGH!”
Totosai shouted making the whole class go silent.
“Now Eri will you please introduce yourself?”
The girl Totosai called Eri stood up and spoke.
“My name is Eri, and I am a gay right activist.”
The girl named Eri was short with curly brown hair with brown eyes. She wore a gay pride shirt and a pair of regular blue jeans. Kagome was pretty sure she was gay but wasn’t going to ask. The girl behind Eri stood, this girl too was wearing a gay pride shirt and jeans but she was taller and had longer brown hair and she wore a headband.
“I am Yumi, I too am a gay rights activist.”
After Yumi it was Inu Yasha. He stood up like he was the hottest thing in the room and took his time before he spoke.
“You already know my name, and you already know I am the most important football player here.”
He sat back down and a tall lanky red head stood up.
“My name is Shippo, and I play video games.”
Shippo had green eyes that looked to be blood shot. He had a lot of freckles on his face and arms. He wore a green shirt that said ‘Look I’m a pot head’ under the saying on his shirt was a picture of a stick figure with a pot on his head. His pants were torn up old jeans and his shoes were old converse sneakers. After Shippo a real short blonde haired girl stood.
“My name is Kanna, and I am usually by myself.”
Kanna had cold ice blue eyes and really had no emotion when she spoke. Her clothes were all white even down to the shoes. There were only three people left after the four who went after Kanna. A long brown haired boy stood up after the last girl who spoke. He was tall and muscular, he also wore a letterman jacket but the number on his jacket was 17. Under his jacket he wore a dark brown tee shirt. He had on a pair of white washed blue jeans and brown sneakers.
“My name is Koga, I don’t mean, well yeah I do mean to contradict Inu Yasha on the best football player thing but he is wrong…I my dear am the most important football player in this school.”
Koga said with a smug grin on his face. Inu Yasha just sneered at Koga who was sitting back down. Now all that was left was two boys both in leather jackets. The boy that was standing had long black hair that was braided down his back. He too was muscular like Koga. He wore a red shirt under his leather jacket and blue jeans with black sneakers.
“My name is Bonkotsu, and I love anything that has to do with your eyes.”
Bonkotsus’ voice deep and smooth. By the sound of his voice and the comment he made Kagome couldn’t help but blush and smile at the handsome man. Then from the back of the room Azuka spoke up.
“Don’t fall for that shit kid, he is an ass, ‘I’ of all people should know this cause I live with the little shit.”
Azuka said while pushing some of her hair out of her eyes. Bonkotsu sat down and the last boy stood up. He too was wearing a leather jacket. He had long dark brown hair that lay on his shoulders. He had an orange shirt on and black pants with black shoes. He was handsome in the face but the smugness made him look ugly to Kagome.
“My name is Naraku, and I could care a rats ass what you think of me.”
Sitting back down he looked over to Azuka and rolled his eyes, which brought a smile to her stone face. Totosai thanked everyone for his or her participation and then made it clear that next time not to use fowl language. Looking back at Kagome he told her to go sit in between Sango and Azuka and to start on her journal. Kagome made her way to her seat she sat down and started to draw a pig around her name that was on the notebook. Once she was sure it was they way she wanted it she opened it and started to write. Writing about home though made her think of Hojo and the last day they had together.
~Flashback~
HONK…HONK…HONK!
Hojo beeped his blazer horn to get Kagome’s attention she in return smiled big an ran to his blazer whipping the door open and jumping in giving him the biggest kiss in the world.
“God I love you.”
Hojo tried to get out through all the kisses Kagome was putting on his face.
“What? You got to speak up I can’t hear you.”
Kagome said in a playful voice. Hojo then rolled down all four-car windows and shouted.
“I said GOD I LOVE YOU!!!!”
Hojo screamed as loud as he could. Making Kagome laugh uncontrollably, which brought a smile to his face because he thought she was the prettiest thing in the world when she smiled.
“So where we goin babydall?”
Kagome asked as he pulled out of the schools parking lot. Taking her hand in his he replied.
“You’ll see.”
“Is it a good surprise?”
Kagome giggled.
“The best I think I have ever given you.”
“Oh babydall!”
Kagome half screeched before she planted another kiss on his cheek. They drove for 20 minutes before they came to the park where they first met. Pulling in and parking Hojo smiled at his baby before getting out and opening the trunk where he had hidden a picnic basket and blanket, pulling it all out he walked over to Kagome he motioned for her to follow him. They walked to the center of the park where there was a big hill with a tree on the top and at the bottom of the hill was a pond. Reaching the top Hojo laid out the blanket and set down the basket. After Kagome had sat down he started to pulled out the contents of the basket which included all of Kagomes favorite food, which were two peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches, a container of old fashioned potato salad, cottage cheese, and two slices of apple pie with whip cream.
“Oh babydall all my favorites.”
Kagome said as she leaned in to kiss Hojo as passionately as she could.
“If you are gonna give me kisses like that for doin somthin like this, I think I should do this kind of stuff all the time.”
Hojo smiled as he laid down on his side propping his head up with his elbow. The next hour they ate and made promises to each other they weren’t even sure they could keep. The sun was just about to set when Hojo stood up and motioned for Kagome to do the same. Once she was standing Hojo got behind her and wrapped his strong arms around her waist and pulled her close. They stood there and watched the sun start to wane but before the sun completely disappeared he removed himself from behind her and turned her so she was facing him and dropped to one knee. Reaching into his flannel shirt he pulled out a small black box, Kagome knew what was happing so she started to cry happy tears. Kissing Kagomes hand Hojo then spoke.
“Kagome, you are all the light in my life, you are the brightest crayon in my box, you are my breath when I can not breathe. You Kagome are every fiber to my being and I refuse to live my life with out you, so Kagome Higurashi will you be my life long partner?”
Hojo opened the black box and inside was a white gold ring with a pink diamond shaped like her favorite animal, a pig.
“Oh Hojo, yes, YES I will.”
Hojo slid the ring on Kagomes’ finger. Once the ring was on her finger she jumped on Hojo and sent them both rolling down the hill towards the pond. Holding tight to each other they laughed all the way down the hill, well until the splashed into the cold pond water. They both yelped and scurried out of the water laying down on the cool grass they looked at each other with honest true love in their eyes and once again they kissed a true love kiss before the got up to get their stuff from atop the hill.
The drive back to Kagome’s house was one full of wedding plans and dates but their conversation came to and end when the drove into her driveway.
“Hojo, babydall, I don’t think I can live in New York with out you.”
Kagome said as she started to cry again but this time in sadness.
“Oh baby yes you can, it won’t be that hard, we can make it through this you and I both know we can.”
Hojo said as he put his hands on her face and turned her so she was looking him in the eyes, wiping away a tear he kissed her softly and said.
“I love you more than the air that I breathe Kagome, nothing and no one will keep me away from you.”
“I love you too Hojo and you know what you are right we can do this.”
“That’s my girl think positive, baby.”
“I will from now on, I promise.”
“I’ll call you tomorrow before you leave and say good bye one more time okay?”
“Okay babydall, I love you.”
“I love you more than you can ever love me.”
“Buh bye babydall.”
“Never good bye, just see ya later, okay?”
“Okay Hojo, see you later and I love you.”
“See you later, baby.”
With that they kissed one more time, Kagome got out of the car and waved to him as he drove away.

Kagome was stripped from her thoughts when someone slammed their hand on her desk.
“Hey day dreamer the bell rang.”
The girl named Azuka said as she removed her hand from Kagome’s desk.
“Oh what, shit. Where did that Sango girl go”
“To her next class duh.”
“Shit I have no idea where my next class is and she was suppose to show me.”
Kagome said with a little annoyance in her voice.
“Well then fuck, let me see your schedule.”
Azuka said as she stuck out her hand. Kagome handed her the piece of paper and Azuka unfolded it.
“You have math with Jakken, he is down this hallway then turn right and go four doors down. He is in room 415.”
Azuka said as she showed Kagome what way to go with her hands.
“Thank you.”
“No sweat kid.”
With that Kagome got up and started to her next class. She found her class with ease and hurried inside. Her math teacher was another male who was short and heavy set and bald. Kagome had a hard time not laughing when the man turned so she could see his face, the man literally looked like a bull frog. No one was really in the class yet so Kagome took advantage of that and walked up to the teacher so she could ask a question.
“Umm…Jakken right?”
“Yup that would be me, what can I do for you?”
“Oh I was just wondering where you guys are in math.”
“We are reviewing algebra.”
“Really, seriously, algebra? Good I am really good at that.”
“Better hope so cause today there is a pop quiz on it. Are you going to be able to do the test today?”
“Of course, I love math.”
“Well good now take a seat.”
Kagome took a seat in the back of the room. Shortly after she took her seat the class started to fill with a bunch of strange faces. The last person though was Sesshomaru, he scanned the room and saw Kagome given her a quick look he headed for the only empty seat in the room which so happened to be by Kagome. Kagome was going to say hi to him but something about the way he acted told her not to so she didn’t.
After everyone was seated Jakken cleared his throat and the whole class went silent.
“Okay class today is your lucky day, today we have a pop quiz I hope you guys are prepared.”
Almost the whole class groaned with disappointment as Jakken handed out the tests.
“Okay class you have 30 minutes to finish the quiz once time is up all pencils are to be put down. If you finish the test early just flip it over and I will come and get it. Okay now that the tests are all passed out you may begin.”
Jakken said as he walked up and down the rows helping students who raised their hands.
Kagome was surprised at how easy the test looked to her she finished it with five minutes. Jakken took note to her finishing early and walked over to her desk.
“Did you seriously finish that whole test already? Or did you just quick guess?”
Jakken asked in a suspicious voice.
“No I actually did it all, it was easy.”
The whole looked at Kagome like she was crazy but she didn’t read into it because she was getting weird looks all day.
“Well I guess we will see when I grade it.”
Jakken said if he was going to prove her wrong about it being easy.
Another 25 minutes went by before everyone was done.
“Okay class pencils down, I’ll be around to collect the rest of the tests”
Kagome heard Sesshoumaru cuss so she looked over to see what his problem was. The poor guy only had 7 of the 15 questions done and he looked to be having a hard time with the test from the beginning anyway.
Jakken had come to Sesshoumaru and took one look at his paper and sighed. Picking his paper up he then turned and headed back to his desk to grade them.

Azuka said while pushing some of her hair out of her eyes. Bonkotsu sat down and the last boy stood up. He too was wearing a leather jacket. He had long dark brown hair that lay on his shoulders. He had an orange shirt on and black pants with black shoes. He was handsome in the face but the smugness made him look ugly to Kagome.
“My name is Naraku, and I could care a rats ass what you think of me.”
Sitting back down he looked over to Azuka and rolled his eyes, which brought a smile to her stone face. Totosai thanked everyone for his or her participation and then made it clear that next time not to use fowl language. Looking back at Kagome he told her to go sit in between Sango and Azuka and to start on her journal. Kagome made her way to her seat she sat down and started to draw a pig around her name that was on the notebook. Once she was sure it was they way she wanted it she opened it and started to write. Writing about home though made her think of Hojo and the last day they had together.
~Flashback~
HONK…HONK…HONK!
Hojo beeped his blazer horn to get Kagome’s attention she in return smiled big an ran to his blazer whipping the door open and jumping in giving him the biggest kiss in the world.
“God I love you.”
Hojo tried to get out through all the kisses Kagome was putting on his face.
“What? You got to speak up I can’t hear you.”
Kagome said in a playful voice. Hojo then rolled down all four-car windows and shouted.
“I said GOD I LOVE YOU!!!!”
Hojo screamed as loud as he could. Making Kagome laugh uncontrollably, which brought a smile to his face because he thought she was the prettiest thing in the world when she smiled.
“So where we goin babydall?”
Kagome asked as he pulled out of the schools parking lot. Taking her hand in his he replied.
“You’ll see.”
“Is it a good surprise?”
Kagome giggled.
“The best I think I have ever given you.”
“Oh babydall!”
Kagome half screeched before she planted another kiss on his cheek. They drove for 20 minutes before they came to the park where they first met. Pulling in and parking Hojo smiled at his baby before getting out and opening the trunk where he had hidden a picnic basket and blanket, pulling it all out he walked over to Kagome he motioned for her to follow him. They walked to the center of the park where there was a big hill with a tree on the top and at the bottom of the hill was a pond. Reaching the top Hojo laid out the blanket and set down the basket. After Kagome had sat down he started to pulled out the contents of the basket which included all of Kagomes favorite food, which were two peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches, a container of old fashioned potato salad, cottage cheese, and two slices of apple pie with whip cream.
“Oh babydall all my favorites.”
Kagome said as she leaned in to kiss Hojo as passionately as she could.
“If you are gonna give me kisses like that for doin somthin like this, I think I should do this kind of stuff all the time.”
Hojo smiled as he laid down on his side propping his head up with his elbow. The next hour they ate and made promises to each other they weren’t even sure they could keep. The sun was just about to set when Hojo stood up and motioned for Kagome to do the same. Once she was standing Hojo got behind her and wrapped his strong arms around her waist and pulled her close. They stood there and watched the sun start to wane but before the sun completely disappeared he removed himself from behind her and turned her so she was facing him and dropped to one knee. Reaching into his flannel shirt he pulled out a small black box, Kagome knew what was happing so she started to cry happy tears. Kissing Kagomes hand Hojo then spoke.
“Kagome, you are all the light in my life, you are the brightest crayon in my box, you are my breath when I can not breathe. You Kagome are every fiber to my being and I refuse to live my life with out you, so Kagome Higurashi will you be my life long partner?”
Hojo opened the black box and inside was a white gold ring with a pink diamond shaped like her favorite animal, a pig.
“Oh Hojo, yes, YES I will.”
Hojo slid the ring on Kagomes’ finger. Once the ring was on her finger she jumped on Hojo and sent them both rolling down the hill towards the pond. Holding tight to each other they laughed all the way down the hill, well until the splashed into the cold pond water. They both yelped and scurried out of the water laying down on the cool grass they looked at each other with honest true love in their eyes and once again they kissed a true love kiss before the got up to get their stuff from atop the hill.
The drive back to Kagome’s house was one full of wedding plans and dates but their conversation came to and end when the drove into her driveway.
“Hojo, babydall, I don’t think I can live in New York with out you.”
Kagome said as she started to cry again but this time in sadness.
“Oh baby yes you can, it won’t be that hard, we can make it through this you and I both know we can.”
Hojo said as he put his hands on her face and turned her so she was looking him in the eyes, wiping away a tear he kissed her softly and said.
“I love you more than the air that I breathe Kagome, nothing and no one will keep me away from you.”
“I love you too Hojo and you know what you are right we can do this.”
“That’s my girl think positive, baby.”
“I will from now on, I promise.”
“I’ll call you tomorrow before you leave and say good bye one more time okay?”
“Okay babydall, I love you.”
“I love you more than you can ever love me.”
“Buh bye babydall.”
“Never good bye, just see ya later, okay?”
“Okay Hojo, see you later and I love you.”
“See you later, baby.”
With that they kissed one more time, Kagome got out of the car and waved to him as he drove away.
~ End Flash back ~
Kagome was stripped from her thoughts when someone slammed their hand on her desk.
“Hey day dreamer the bell rang.”
The girl named Azuka said as she removed her hand from Kagome’s desk.
“Oh what, shit. Where did that Sango girl go”
“To her next class duh.”
“Shit I have no idea where my next class is and she was suppose to show me.”
Kagome said with a little annoyance in her voice.
“Well then fuck, let me see your schedule.”
Azuka said as she stuck out her hand. Kagome handed her the piece of paper and Azuka unfolded it.
“You have math with Jakken, he is down this hallway then turn right and go four doors down. He is in room 415.”
Azuka said as she showed Kagome what way to go with her hands.
“Thank you.”
“No sweat kid.”
With that Kagome got up and started to her next class. She found her class with ease and hurried inside. Her math teacher was another male who was short and heavy set and bald. Kagome had a hard time not laughing when the man turned so she could see his face, the man literally looked like a bull frog. No one was really in the class yet so Kagome took advantage of that and walked up to the teacher so she could ask a question.
“Umm…Jakken right?”
“Yup that would be me, what can I do for you?”
“Oh I was just wondering where you guys are in math.”
“We are reviewing algebra.”
“Really, seriously, algebra? Good I am really good at that.”
“Better hope so cause today there is a pop quiz on it. Are you going to be able to do the test today?”
“Of course, I love math.”
“Well good now take a seat.”
Kagome took a seat in the back of the room. Shortly after she took her seat the class started to fill with a bunch of strange faces. The last person though was Sesshomaru, he scanned the room and saw Kagome given her a quick look he headed for the only empty seat in the room which so happened to be by Kagome. Kagome was going to say hi to him but something about the way he acted told her not to so she didn’t.
After everyone was seated Jakken cleared his throat and the whole class went silent.
“Okay class today is your lucky day, today we have a pop quiz I hope you guys are prepared.”
Almost the whole class groaned with disappointment as Jakken handed out the tests.
“Okay class you have 30 minutes to finish the quiz once time is up all pencils are to be put down. If you finish the test early just flip it over and I will come and get it. Okay now that the tests are all passed out you may begin.”
Jakken said as he walked up and down the rows helping students who raised their hands.
Kagome was surprised at how easy the test looked to her she finished it with five minutes. Jakken took note to her finishing early and walked over to her desk.
“Did you seriously finish that whole test already? Or did you just quick guess?”
Jakken asked in a suspicious voice.
“No I actually did it all, it was easy.”
The whole looked at Kagome like she was crazy but she didn’t read into it because she was getting weird looks all day.
“Well I guess we will see when I grade it.”
Jakken said if he was going to prove her wrong about it being easy.
Another 25 minutes went by before everyone was done.
“Okay class pencils down, I’ll be around to collect the rest of the tests”
Kagome heard Sesshoumaru cuss so she looked over to see what his problem was. The poor guy only had 7 of the 15 questions done and he looked to be having a hard time with the test from the beginning anyway.
Jakken had come to Sesshoumaru and took one look at his paper and sighed. Picking his paper up he then turned and headed back to his desk to grade them.
